Experiencia negativa: When I called this place to make an appointment for a teeth cleaning only. I get there and they take me back and take all these x-rays that I didn’t need and didn’t ask for. Then they have some lady come in and talk to me about my teeth and poke around a little bit and then said we’ll walk you out now. I said what do you mean aren’t you gonna clean my teeth and they told me no and they charged me close to $400. This is totally unacceptable. I will never recommend this place to anyone..

Experiencia negativa: This dentist refused me service. I have been having my teeth cleaned here for 10 years. I've never had a cavity or needed any other dental work. So, they refused to keep seeing me because my teeth are too healthy and they can't make as much money off me as they can someone with bad teeth. It is illegal to refuse service, and they have been referred to the Better Business Bureau and other authorities.

Experiencia negativa: UPDATE: After Kelly, the office manager, told me my remaining Invisalign aligners wouldn’t fit me and that they tossed them I saw my actual dentist who confirmed that my aligners do in fact still fit. I will now have to repurchase the aligners she threw away. I’ve been going to this location for 15 years and have always had positive experiences with Dr. Legum and Dr. Lokitis (who is unfortunately no longer with the practice). However, after a year-long gap in appointments due to a lapse in dental coverage and job changes, I encountered a completely unacceptable situation. I continued to wear the aligners I had received during my Invisalign treatment, and when I called to inquire about my unused aligners, the office manager told me they had discarded them. To make matters worse, she was rude and insisted—without hesitation—that the aligners wouldn’t fit, even though she is not my provider. It’s utterly ridiculous for someone with no expertise in my treatment to make such a definitive claim. She also repeatedly mentioned that they tried to contact me when Dr. Lokitis left as a way of justifying that the aligners were discarded. When I attempted to express my concerns, she sternly demanded that I “give her respect” and let her speak, despite interrupting me multiple times and not allowing me to get a word in. The entire conversation felt like she was more interested in making her point that the unused aligners wouldn’t fit rather than listening to my side of the situation. I was made to feel shamed and anxious throughout the entire interaction, which is deeply frustrating considering I already experience anxiety around dental visits. To top it off, the idea of a dental office discarding unused aligners is beyond strange to me—I’ve never heard of this happening. Because of this experience, I will be telling my family and friends, whom I have referred here over the years, to avoid this practice moving forward. This was a complete disappointment and completely unprofessional.

They called me to begin my cleaning right as my appointment was scheduled to begin with no lengthy wait time. My cleaning was done very thoroughly and professionally by the nurse, along with several x-rays before Dr Legum came in came in to check my teeth. He then asked if I had any questions and I checked out at the office and left. I have been seeing Dr. Legum for many years and am very pleased with his practice. I was especially pleased that when I asked him not to use Novacaine, he listened to me and said “OK, let’s try.” I hate Novacaine! So I was really happy that we could do this without it and he didn’t hurt me a bit. I have recommended Dental Associates to my friends and I will be going back!

The visit was easy and painless. I was in and out, with a temporary crown, in about an hour. The front desk staff are very helpful and forthcoming with information on payments, insurance, and future booking. I recommend the Alexandria dental associates.

Experiencia negativa: EDIT: When I first found this dentist I was in love (see below). I have been twice now, and have still not been able to get them to properly bill my insurance. The first time they typed a number in wrong, then they sent it to the wrong insurance company (I have had the same insurance the entire time). They only send me my bill by mail which arrives 3 weeks after the statement date, so I am charged late fees before I could possibly pay what I owe. They have never called me about a problem. I only know they haven't been properly billing my insurance by calling the insurance company... I finally just paid the last $100 out of pocket (I should owe $10-20) because I am tired of dealing with them. Very sad because the actual dental care is awesome. The best dentist I’ve had since I had to leave my pediatric practice. By far. I was in and out in 35 minutes and they did everything that needed to be done. Amaze. I will be back and sending everyone I know.

Unfortunately, I was running a few minutes late due to heavy traffic during my commute from Washington, DC. I promptly contacted the office to inform them of the delay and assure them that I would arrive on time. Despite my efforts, I arrived 10 minutes after my reserved appointment time. Regrettably, I was informed that I would not be seen, I was an existing patient in pain due to an abscess that later on was treated by another practitioner. The office’s management demonstrated a lack of professionalism and care in handling my situation. Consequently, I have decided to discontinue my patronage of this practice and seek treatment elsewhere. I have also decided to take my family to a different dental practice My sister received a treatment plan that included a code for a parenteral injection for a dental deep cleaning. I was astounded that they attempted to use a code that is not typically applied in dental office. This experience has been deeply concerning and has led me to seek alternative dental care for myself and my family. Awful experience!!

Experiencia negativa: I needed a dentist ASAP due to gum loss and desperate need for an antibiotic. Assigned dentist called in sick an hour before I could be seen. The reschedule was over a week later. Things happen. And therefore I'm going to literally any other dentist. Unprofessional behavior has its price.
