Experiencia negativa: DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE. EVER. SINCERELY THE DAUGHTER-IN-LAW AND SISTER OF TWO DENTISTS. I wish I could give this office 0 stars, 1 is far too generous. I went for a routine cleaning (6 months after my last cleaning) almost 4 years ago. I have ALWAYS been routine in my dental visits and meticulous in my dental hygiene. For the 24 years of my life before my visit (and in the 4 years since), I've been told I have excellent oral health and have never had a cavity. "Dr." Kaur tried to convince me to get hundreds - thousands of dollars of work done on my teeth that 3 dentists since have told me was complete lunacy. She emphasized the importance of doing this work immediately, attempting to intimidate me into thinking that I would ruin my teeth further by waiting any amount of time to get a second opinion. These types of scare tactics to aggressively manipulate patients into getting expensive and unnecessary treatments demonstrate the selfish, callous behaviors that patients fear when they go to a new dental office. It's shameful that someone who is intended to offer medical advice, equitable care, and compassion to patients instead chooses to push unnecessary and expensive "treatments" for personal gain. As mentioned, I have two dentists in the family and have been to another dentist routinely since this experience. I've never once been told I need the procedures recommended to me by this office. On top of it all, if you somehow still decide to go to this office, be prepared to be hounded by a disorganized office manager who cannot seem to comprehend you'd like to be removed from their call list after almost 4 years since your one and only visit. I've reached the end of my line with Cosmo Smiles Dental. I hope sharing my experience can save someone else the headache of dealing with this office. Finally, if they, as they have with others, try to say they don't have a record of me being a patient, I'll be happy to share the receipts from my appointment from September of 2022. Do not go to this office.

I didn't want to share it but they keep calling me trying to get me to schedule an appointment when i absolutely will never go back there. I went about a year ago for a simple 6 months cleaning because i moved to the neighborhood and i found this place nearby . From the beginning was a nightmare. They took more than 50 min taking my X Rays , they used an awful machine that hurt me so bad , with all the pain i told them if they skip that part and they kept saying the doctor needed it (The whole week i had pain in my gums after that) . When they finally finished the dentist came and told me based on my X-Rays i needed a deep cleaning and i had to schedule for another day , they needed to use anesthetics and i would take about 2 hours. At that point i spent 1,5 hrs in that chair with the X-Rays and the explanation they gave me. I told them i wanted just my routine 6 month cleaning, she did it completely unhappy and It even hurt. I told her and she asked me if i had a previous trauma with the dentist i really bite my tongue to don't say ''im having it now'' . They gave me a quote where my ''deep cleaning'' was gonna be hundreds of dollars with my insurance, it was very obvious they just wanted money . They mentioned other stuff i need to be done including an internal cavity . I went back to my regular dentist in my old neighborhood and I can say i absolutely don't mind keep traveling 45min for an appointment where they actually take care about their patients, they said everything was good with my X-Rays, didn't find internal cavities or problems and they do my regular cleaning without any issue. I wouldn't recommend this place at all!

Experiencia negativa: Edit as a Response: If you have been harmed by Dr. Kaur and her team as Cosmo Smiles Dental services, please place a complaint to the Virginia Board of Dentistry for them to catalog all the complaints and conduct investigations. Collect all the evidence, ask for your medical records from Dr. Kaur and get multiple opinions from other dental practices to support your claim. I initially sought dental care from Dr. Kaur after being told I had a single cavity. After reviewing my X-rays, Dr. Kaur confirmed the one cavity but also stated that I had “minor fractures” on many of my other teeth. She recommended preventive sealants on an additional 14 teeth. Because I have a long-standing fear of dentists and had avoided care for many years, I trusted her professional judgment. I ultimately underwent one root canal and crown, along with what I believed were 14 preventive sealants. Toward the end of my treatment, I felt increasingly uncomfortable as I was repeatedly pressured to purchase additional services, such as a mouth guard and Invisalign. At that point, I decided to stop treatment at the office. A couple of years later, after experiencing ongoing discomfort and pain that began following my care with Dr. Kaur, I sought a second opinion from another dentist. I was shocked to learn that I did not have sealants at all. Instead, I had 14 or more deeply drilled fillings. I was informed that these teeth appeared to have been healthy prior to treatment. I was told that the procedures performed were not consistent with preventive sealants, despite being presented to me that way at the time. When I requested my dental records, I was charged $100 and received only X-rays and a list of procedures, with no clinical notes or documentation explaining diagnoses or treatment decisions. After sharing my experience, I noticed multiple reviews describing similar concerns, including being told they had cavities they later learned were unnecessary and feeling pressured into additional services. Based on my experience, I strongly encourage others to seek a second opinion before proceeding with extensive treatment at this office. Dental work is permanent, and patients deserve transparency, clear explanations, and informed consent before irreversible procedures are performed. She also pressures patients to give her good google reviews.

They walked me through the entire process and even took the time to explain my insurance so I would not have to stress about costs. The office itself is easy to access with parking right out front, and the space is clean, serene, and welcoming. Overall, the visit completely eased my nerves and left me feeling cared for. Experiencia negativa: Went in for a cleaning, 2nd visit with this clinic. 1st time was great and the dentist was honest. I asked her to do a 2nd look at what another dentist had recommended. She said everything was fine and that I was not assessed correctly by another clinic. Visit 2, I had a regular cleaning, as the assistant wrapped up she asked if I use a night guard or if I had one. I said no. The dentist entered and made up all these “issues” I was having to pressure me into getting a guard through them. I declined and thought it was funny that the 1st visit was mentioned that I didn’t need any of that! She then went on to say I had really bad grinding issues and possible cavities.. I said so in 6 months I gained all these issues… I declined her suggestions to have more work done. She quickly cleaned my teeth, horrible job and she rushed to the front desk. Upon coming to the front desk, the scheduler then also pressured me into getting more work done and a night guard. I declined as I noticed that same female dentist standing in the back listening. These ladies are a scam. I guess I should have realized all of it when I entered the building they had been arguing with a gentleman about how much he had to owe and he said he never wanted the work done. When I left I realized they didn’t give me any paperwork so I called the office and she said they normally do not give paperwork. I insisted she email me a copy for my records. I wasn’t about to be scammed. Be careful of this place. Also I asked my new dentist if I need anything of the work they had mentioned and he has said no! He said many dentists will do this to their clients since the client does not know better and has trust in their dentists!!

They were knowledgeable, efficient, and just as importantly, had an amazing bedside manner. My teeth are very sensitive. Dr. Carr seemed to be more concerned about my discomfort than I was. And now that I rethink it, so was Dr. Henderson. I highly recommend either of these dentist for routine or specialized dental care.

Experiencia negativa: This dental office came across as a scam. I tried this office six months ago and was told I had several cavities that would take two different appointments to fix. For my entire adult life, I have had very few dental issues and have always regularly gone to dental appointments. After reading the reviews, I decided to seek a second opinion at a different office. The second office told me I had fantastic dental health and did not need any further dental work.

Experiencia negativa: Avoid! Apparently they lied to me about taking my insurance (Delta Dental) because they decided to charge extra for dental x-rays that my insurance is not covering. This was a standard 6-month cleaning by the way, not anything special. The experience was not very good either, the dental assistant spraying my shirt with water and being generally sloppy with the flossing (straight up missed some teeth). They tried to book me for a couple of extra appointments for fixing cavities but I am not sure they are telling the truth considering some of the other reviews here. Beware EDIT 12/27/24: I just came back from another dentist and my teeth were completely fine. They straight up lied about cavities, and tried to set up several appointments to do who knows what to my teeth. It's quite shocking there are medical professionals blatantly selling snake oil like this. I am absolutely reporting this dentist to whatever licensing organization manages their accreditation. Unacceptable.

Experiencia negativa: Very unprofessional, equipment is old and outdated, and the X-Ray machine hasn’t been serviced in years. Also God forbid your job sends you on a last minute business trip because they won’t work with you and then charge you $150 for not canceling on time. Absolute joke of a business, 10/10 would not recommend. Update/Response: what’s unprofessional is making false accusations on what I wrote, no where does it say that I’m not paying a bill and no where does it say it’s an insurance issue. My claim was based off an understanding with you that my job has me travel last minute and that I can’t always cancel in a timely manner and you said that it was alright and that if anything comes up to just let y’all know. What’s also very unprofessional is having your tech laugh as the X-Ray machine repeatedly hit me in the face or would completely fall out of alignment because the pistons on the arms are completely worn out and can’t even hold up its own weight. In regards to the servicing you may want to hide your out of date servicing sticker that’s on the X-Ray or at least have an updated one showing because it doesn’t instill a lot of confidence. If you can’t handle a negative comment and learn from it then my apologies but don’t call me unprofessional when your staff and the way things are run there couldn’t be farther from that. I don’t care what you do or where you went to school, if you can’t run your practice with professionalism and trust then how do you expect people to respect and trust what you say to them.

Was told I had several cavities, need to get 3 crowns, and then get Invisalign. I was quoted well over 10k worth of work on my first visit. Went to a nearby dentist for my next cleaning 6 months later, was told my teeth were in great shape and none of that work would be needed… the staff was very nice here but was alarmed why so much work was needed ….

Experiencia negativa: Do not go here. They told me I have cavities that need immediate fixing. I went to an another dentist and this turned out to be absolutely false. When I cancelled my remaining appointments, the very rude receptionist tried to charge me cancellation fees for even ones that were a week away - despite this being illegal in Virginia.

Experiencia negativa: I went here two years ago because my previous dentist retired. The visit was okay, the receptionist didn’t seem to know what she was doing. I only went in for cleaning and X-rays but the visit took almost two hours even though I was the only customer there. I saw staff hanging out in other rooms. They told me I had three cavities, which was odd because my previous dentist never mentioned cavities. I did get a second opinion and I was told I only had one. If you go here and they say you have cavities or a root canal, I’d strongly suggest a second opinion. According to other reviews, this happens quite often. A few days after my appointment, I get a notification from my dental insurance that I visited an out of network dentist so I may have a balance. I was confused because I booked through Zocdoc and I was told by the receptionist that they do accept my insurance. Turns out that while they do accept Aetna, they didn’t start accepting my specific plan until the day after I visited. I recently received a bill from this office. So now I’m left with a balance I have to pay because clearly, they have no idea what they’re doing. I’m going to pay the balance so it won’t be on my credit, but I have went to this place once and I will literally never step foot in this office again. I DEFINITELY suggest going elsewhere. I cannot stress this enough.

Experiencia negativa: I came here a few years ago and have switched dentist since then. I would really reconsider going here because they’ll tell you there’s 5 cavities when there’s actually none. If you do decide to go, get a second opinion somewhere else. The filling they did was so deep I still have sensitivity years later that my current dentist can’t seem to fix (without doing a root canal which isn’t guaranteed to fix anything). My biggest regret is coming here so don’t make the same mistake I did.

Experiencia negativa: Such a bad experience. The front desk woman was very mean and aggressive towards me. After the first procedure, the nurse left me without saying anything for 10 minutes. I had to go ask what was happening, whether I should wait or leave. They told me the doctor had to attend to an express customer and would be with me shortly. However, after waiting for 15 minutes in the doctor's room, no one showed up, and I felt confused, disrespected, and just left.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Kaur and her staff are all absolutely wonderful! I initially visited this practice to get a second opinion on a broken tooth that I thought could be glued back into place as was done on another tooth that I broke. Dr. Kaur confirmed the initial diagnosis and patiently went into a detailed explanation with drawings showing me why this situation was different and why a complete tooth extraction was needed. She recommended replacing it with an implant which she said she could do at the same time as the extraction. I've read mixed reviews on same-day extraction implants but decided to take a chance. To complicate things further, I had important travel scheduled and was concerned about a noticeable gap in my teeth. To make a long story short, Dr. Kaur when out of her way to accommodate my challenging schedule and was able to have a removable "flip tooth" made that I could wear to fill in the gap after the extraction. Everything went according to plan and I now have my new permanent crown on my implant in less time than a staged implant and with no complications. I think I just found my new primary dentist!

Experiencia negativa: I truly have not had a good experience here and would not recommend them for your dental needs. First, a tech was not paying attention while examining me and made me choke on tools to the point where the dentist yelled at her. In addition to that, they casually told me they would do two fillings and they’ll check with insurance (I asked them to) and it most likely wouldn’t be an issue. It was, and now I’m being charged over $800 for something that could have easily been avoided had they checked with my insurance before it was done like I asked. I’m still trying to battle the charge with my insurance a year and a half later since I don’t get any responses from them. The most frustrating part is I most likely didn’t even need two fillings. On top of this, I’ve emailed them six times for clarity with no response. When I try to call they tell me they’ll look into it and to call my insurance company, but I never hear a word back. Honestly avoid them.

Experiencia negativa: Leaving a one-star review because I had such an awful experience during a routine cleaning. The woman doing the teeth cleaning was unprepared, rough, and generally unpleasant. She left me in the room with polish on my teeth for five minutes while she tried to figure out how to get different things needed for a teeth cleaning working (suction and the water pick). Eventually I just asked her to stop the cleaning because she kept hitting my teeth and lips pretty hard with the metal tools. It was uncomfortable and unprofessional. As many other people mentioned, the dentist is lovely. She was very patient and explained things clearly. If this review were only about the dentist, it would be five stars. Perhaps if you get a better hygienist than I had, you will have a good experience with this clinic.

Since then they continuously send me check in reminders with no way to unsubscribe on the email and made accounting errors and asked for different amounts of money from me several times despite me paying when I got my cavity. Wouldn’t recommend.
