Fantastic experience: This might sound dramatic , but The Smile Lounge healed decades of dental fear for me. Everyone in this office is so kind and patient. They are super friendly and take the time to help you understand everything that they are doing. I don’t look forward to dental work, but I genuinely enjoy seeing everyone in this office. Dr. Henderson has created a space that is supportive of anxiety/ neurodivergence/ you name it. I highly recommend The Smile Lounge. I never thought I would be writing reviews of a dentist, but they are SO worth it.

Negative experience: I really like Dr. Adam, but good luck getting scheduled any sooner than 4-5 months out.

Fantastic experience: You can stop looking for a dentist office. You're welcome. Everybody at this place is great. And believe me I don't recommend many things. They are all pretty funny too which is believe it or not a good thing for a dentist office. Keep things light. Bree and Doc Henderson have you covered no matter what you need in terms of dental work. No corporate dentist office here. They take whatever amount of time it takes to do things right. I recommend them and I am a cynical fraud examiner so if I LIKE them. You will. Guaranteed. Destiny does a great job keeping the office flowing efficiently as well.

Fantastic experience: Best dentist I’ve ever been to! It almost felt like I was at a spa rather than at dentist. They were very thorough with my dental history and asking questions. Something I’ve never experienced before. 10000/10. I like them so much I scheduled an appointment for my husband. I can not thank them enough.

Fantastic experience: I had my first appointment at the Smile Lounge after seeing all the glowing reviews, and I’m happy to say they were absolutely warranted. Dr. Henderson has created an office culture that feels genuinely caring, respectful, and patient‑centered. He listened closely to my concerns about dental visits and never once made me feel judged for my past choices or anxieties. The exam itself was both thorough and gentle, and I appreciated that it took place in a private room with a door—something I’ve never experienced at a dental office before. Dr. Henderson even did my cleaning himself and took the time to acknowledge the work I’ve been doing on my dental health. Not once did he try to upsell me on unnecessary procedures or added costs. As I was leaving, his staff introduced themselves and offered such warm, kind words that truly stood out. I walked away feeling respected, heard, and genuinely valued as a patient.

Fantastic experience: I just came from my appointment at the Smile Lounge & it was an awesome visit! Getting my teeth cleaned is not one of my favorite things to do, but the hygienist Bree put me at ease. She made sure that I was comfortable and pain free through the entire cleaning. Dr. Henderson was kind enough to even come in and do a unscheduled exam. I felt very comfortable and at ease in this beautiful office. From the friendly, kind care to the great atmosphere, I highly recommend the Smile Lounge for all of your Dental care.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Henderson is the best. It’s a solo practice, so you get personalized care from a dentist who is not only excellent at dentistry but is a genuinely kind and compassionate person. The practice is designed to accommodate those with differing needs, including sensory needs associated with conditions like autism. Cash pay rates are quite reasonable too. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Update, August 2025: Still very happy with the care I've received at The Smile Lounge. Their new hygienist, Briana, is so friendly! She immediately made me feel comfortable during my first visit with her, and she took extra care not to poke my gums during my cleaning (always appreciated!). Dr. Henderson is always so kind and explains things in ways that are easy for me to understand. If you're looking for a new dentist, I highly recommend you check out The Smile Lounge! Original Review: My insurance changed recently, and I was nervous about choosing a new dentist. Dr. Henderson and his staff were so kind and put my mind at ease right away. Fantastic experience: I’ve always had a tough time going to dentists. As someone who identifies as neurodivergent, it can become overstimulating and judgmental very quickly. Not at the smile lounge! Dr. Henderson is very kind, patient and skilled. I feel much less stressed and judged coming to him and I am very glad I found him! His office goes the extra mile to accommodate and utilize sensory comfort.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Henderson is the best dentist I've ever been a patient of. He's incredibly considerate of patients and their respective needs. I struggle with executive dysfunction and have a lot of dental trauma, and he was kind, helpful, and attentive to my concerns. I would highly recommend him to anyone who's struggled in the past, as he is someone who sincerely cares about providing quality care to his patients in a way that takes as much pain out of the process as possible.

Fantastic experience: I'd always had bad experiences with dentists and was super afraid to get back into teeth care after a long lapse in coverage, but everyone at The Smile Lounge is so kind, caring and amazing. You're never made to feel guilty, nor have your pain or experiences downplayed. Dr. Henderson is so mindful and has gone out of his way to ensure the comfort of his patients. He's patient and knowledgeable, and is always willing to take the time to ensure patients have a positive experience and their needs are addressed. I've had to come in for a few dental emergencies and booking was really quick. I would recommend The Smile Lounge to absolutely everyone-- especially if you have any prior dental trauma. They're the best! They also have tvs on the ceiling with Netflix, making any long appointments all the easier.

Fantastic experience: I can’t recommend Dr. Henderson enough. He’s alleviated any anxieties our family could have about dentistry work, whether it’s a routine cleaning or an emergency visit. He’s very knowledgeable, careful, and always listens to patient concerns. He’s super considerate of the fact that a lot of folks have medical and dental anxiety — I always feel really comfortable and cared for during my visits. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

Fantastic experience: Take into consideration my anxiety and make sure I’m comfy with weighted blankets, noise canceling headphones and stops when i need a break. Gives real advice on what’s needed just for my health personally and not for money and the benefit of the business! 20/10 best experience I’ve had!!

Fantastic experience: Like a lot of folks I have sensory issues and dental work can be difficult for me. Dr. Henderson took a lot of time and care to provide a very through and gentle cleaning. He truly cares about serving neurodivergent clients and is a true humanitarian. I feel very lucky to have found him.

Fantastic experience: I came here for a second opinion after another dentist told me I needed to get seven fillings replaced. I told Dr. Henderson I don't even remember having seven cavities as a kid! He looked through everything and told me that I in fact only had gotten two fillings (which is what I remembered) and that neither needed replacement. It's so nice to have someone walk you through every image, explain what they see and why, and most importantly not try to upsell every dental procedure under the sun.

He truly goes above and beyond to make sure every visit is comfortable, from the dimmed lights and calming music to the ceiling-mounted TV playing animal documentaries – everything is designed to ease the nerves of customers both young and old. Dr. Henderson is genuinely kind and takes the time to get to know you. He always remembers our past conversations, making me feel seen and valued as more than just another customer. Not to mention, he takes insurance and is extremely fair with pricing. In my 33 years, I’ve had many dentists, but Dr. Henderson stands out not just for his excellent work but also for his character. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

The atmosphere is super relaxed and private, which instantly put me at ease. Their modern equipment made getting x-rays the easiest and most comfortable it's ever been for me. The doctor takes the time to explain everything really clearly, so I always knew what was happening. Honestly, if you're someone who doesn't enjoy going to the dentist, this place will make it a lot better—and if you already like going to the dentist, you'll love it even more! No question, this is definitely my new dentist!!

Scheduling was easy, and the environment of the office is friendly, relaxed, and professional. As someone with fairly extreme dental anxiety, it has always been difficult to find care that doesn't come with judgement or added shaming. Dr. Henderson is truly the best dentist I have ever been to. He is friendly, calm, explains everything in detail, gives breaks when needed and is incredibly gentle. He is the only dentist I have ever been to who truly understands that dental anxiety is real and has never once judged or shamed me for it. I know Dr. Henderson is on my team and wants the best for me and my teeth.

He's a wonderful guy—pleasant to chat with, quick with his work, knowledgeable and forthcoming about his field and any technical questions I had about the process. Just a really pleasant and stress-free experience. If you're in the Beaverton/Portland area looking for a new dentist, I would highly recommend giving The Smile Lounge a try.

Fantastic experience: Smile Lounge is The best dental place I had in my life (I'm 75 years old). Best office, best doctor, never any wait, no procedure ever caused any pain would it be routine maintenance such as cleaning or finding and fixing cavities. I consider myself lucky finding Dr.Henderson year and a half ago when I was looking for a dentist.

Fantastic experience: Very kind and caring staff. Dr. Andrew explained everything he was doing and made sure all my questions were answered. The office is very calming with nice music and plants everywhere. Being able to watch movies during the appointment is also a big plus. Definitely recommend for people who have previously had negative experiences with the dentist.

He clearly cares if I understand what he is talking to me about and he obviously cares about creating a welcoming and comfortable experience for everyone. He is upfront about his professional opinion without being pushy. Each time I've asked for an extra rinse or more numbing, he does so immediately. I felt very respected and cared for. 10/10

Fantastic experience: The Smile Lounge in Tigard is an exceptional dentist office! Dr. Henderson is very relaxed, gentle and careful with his work. I would highly recommend this dentist to anyone who has any anxiety about going to the dentist; I think I could have fallen asleep during my appointment! Very easy check in. Just had to follow the doors to the north entrance, buzz in, and ride the elevator up. I have no reason to go to another dentist again!

Fantastic experience: Recently moved to the area and was in search of a new dentist. Found the Smile Lounge recommended on a Portland Reddit post and boy am I glad I stumbled upon that. Forget what you know about chain dentist offices, the smile lounge is quiet, comfortable and inviting. Their team is judgement free and explains every step of the process. Rebooking a follow up visit was done the same day as my appointment and super easy. It’s a one man show during the appointment which is actually much nicer compared to being seen my multiple people at a traditional dentists office which can feel impersonal. I would recommend this office to anyone I know seeking dental care.

Dr. Henderson is compassionate, warm, and thorough with everything he does in his practice. I greatly appreciate the sensory accommodations he makes for his ND patients, both children and adult. As well as comprehensive explanation of services before they’re performed… it relieves a lot of the anxiety going into a procedure. The low stimulation environment/office really is a game changer for me. I don’tthink I can go anywhere else now. I am really excited to continue my dental plan with The Smile Lounge, they’re just the best!

Fantastic experience: My husband and I both agreed that it is the most gentle teeth cleaning we've ever gotten. Dr. Henderson performed all the services and was kind and receptive. If you have any dental anxiety or sensory issues, it is clear that this practice is geared just for that. Because he was the only one in office, it was very calm and quiet. There's a TV on the ceiling with calm nature images that you can watch as he works on your teeth. Overall a very good experience and worth the drive, especially for anyone that stresses about going to the dentist.

Fantastic experience: I got my tooth chipped during the holidays and Dr. Henderson was so fast to get me in and get it fixed. The entire procedure was under 40 minutes and my tooth looks just how it did I couldn't be happier! Furthermore, as someone who gets very stressed from the dentist, my experience here was phenomenal. The environment was so relaxing. My tension went away SO quickly. The entire staff is very kind and warm and I would absolutely come back.
