Negative experience: I will never come back. After my first pregnancy, I noticed my teeth felt much weaker, so I scheduled an appointment at this office after moving into a new home. Because I had just moved, I wasn’t looking as put together as I normally would, but that should never affect the quality of care a patient receives. During my exam, the dental hygienist handled my mouth very roughly. She also seemed visibly disgusted while examining my teeth, which made me feel embarrassed and uncomfortable. When it came time for the cleaning, she continued to be extremely heavy-handed, causing unnecessary pain and making the entire experience very unpleasant. The cleaning was so rough that my gums continued to hurt for weeks afterward. I know this level of discomfort wasn’t normal because I’ve since had cleanings at another dental office where the hygienist was gentle and professional, and I did not experience lingering pain. The experience became even more disappointing when it was time to pay. My bill was over $400, and before I had even expressed any concern about paying, the receptionist began explaining financing options. She repeatedly emphasized that if I had “bad credit,” I could be denied for a loan, mentioning bad credit several times. I had never asked about financing and was fully prepared to pay my bill with my card. In fact, I had recently purchased a home and had excellent credit, so the assumptions felt unnecessary and insulting. Between the painful treatment from the hygienist and the unprofessional interaction with the receptionist, I left feeling disrespected. Patients deserve to be treated with compassion, respect, and professionalism regardless of how they look or whether they need financing. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I won’t be returning, and I cannot recommend this office based on my experience.

Negative experience: I had dental work done and x-rays at the Sage Dental in Carrollwood last year without any problem when I moved I went to Sage Dental on Bloomington in Brandon and the manager who was a black lady lied to me saying she couldn’t get the x-rays from the other location she said they were all separate offices, which makes no sense because they’re the same company. She said she would not charge my insurance for the new x-rays but she lied and they did charge me then they tried to get me for literally all the money I had on my insurance which was $4000. I requested a copy of my x-rays but they never sent them to me. I changed to another clinic Aspen Dental and I’m very happy with them

Negative experience: Went in for a cleaning. Left two hours later without one. I called to book a routine cleaning. I'd had X-rays done less than a year ago at another office, so I sent my records twice, both times confirmed received by the front desk. I showed up and was taken straight to the X-ray room anyway. Turns out they "didn't have" my records. They offered free X-rays to make up for it, which I appreciated, but we're now 45 minutes in with no cleaning done. Here's where it gets familiar. I had a nearly identical experience at another corporate dental office in a different state. The pattern is the same: 1. Heavy confirmation messages before your appointment, some with 48-hour cancellation fee warnings 2. A dental hygienist reads your gum numbers aloud and will likely follow with a diagnosis involving periodontal disease, infections, and a recommendation for deep cleanings or gum grafts. This appears to be a consistent pattern across their locations based on reviews on Trustpilot, Yelp, and the BBB. 3. A 10-minute dentist visit, honestly the best part; mine was straightforward and didn't push anything urgent 4. An office manager walks in with a “treatment plan” and the bill will likely shock you - mine was $600 this time - and tells you “this is your cleaning” Worth noting: a quick Google search on Sage Dental turns up a consistent pattern of complaints about upselling. I wasn’t aware of this going in. I noticed the pattern myself across two visits before I ever looked it u When I asked if I could just get a basic cleaning, I was told the treatment plan was the cleaning. No alternative was offered. The dentist implied nothing was urgent. The hygienist implied I was in serious trouble. Those two things don't add up, and that contradiction is exactly why I couldn't trust anything I was told, even if some of it was true. I'm not saying the findings were fabricated. I'm saying the structure of the visit makes it impossible to know. I left needing a second opinion from an independent dentist just to evaluate what I was told. I hate going to the dentist so this experience was really frustrating. Two hours. No cleaning. One more thing worth considering: They know consumers rely on reviews to make decisions. That’s exactly why it’s hard to trust the rating you see here, including the one that made me feel comfortable booking in the first place.

Negative experience: Military families, be aware—this was a very frustrating experience. I came here about a year ago for a dental clearance required for an overseas move. Instead of completing the paperwork correctly, the dentist seemed unfamiliar with the required military forms and focused on recommending additional work. At one point, the dentist said he would clear me but kept going back and forth, appearing unsure of how to properly complete the form. This caused serious concern, as we were on a strict timeline and had already sold our home in preparation for the move. After trying to resolve the issue with the dentist, front desk staff, and manager, he ultimately refused to complete the paperwork. I was told that they would only complete my clearance if I agreed to have my healthy wisdom teeth removed by their office, which felt like an attempt to push unnecessary procedures for profit rather than address the actual requirement. I then went to another dentist near MacDill who completed the clearance promptly and professionally, which highlighted the difference in experience. The office felt disorganized, and staff interactions came across as unprofessional at times. Two of the staff members started arguing in Spanish while taking my X rays. Overall, this added unnecessary stress during an already critical process. Given that this office participates in TRICARE/United Concordia, I expected familiarity with standard military requirements. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.

Negative experience: First visit to new affiliate office and very disappointed. Front desk staff could not find my records from a prior Sage office at check in , then overcharged me on the way out ! Also, no apology offered. - I will have to seek quality care elsewhere, because it wasn’t delivered here.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Sam is excellent at handling patients. He has a clear and professional approach to explaining things, diagnosing problems, and providing effective solutions. What stands out the most is that he takes the time to explain everything in detail, which helps patients feel reassured and confident that they are in expert hands. Today, he saw me and clearly identified the main issues that needed attention for my decayed tooth. He explained the treatment options and the available solutions in a very thorough and understandable way. What also stood out to me was his thoughtful approach and patience in treating the issues caused by tooth decay, always aiming to preserve the tooth and only considering extraction as a last resort.

Fantastic experience: Came here for the consult and stayed for the amazing work that was done, friendliness/professionalism of staff and how well the Ames me felt seen without training down to me about the process or what must be done to help me get where I need to be for my teeth. Dani did amazing doing polishing for my teeth.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Selby took the time to get to know me prior to beginning my procedure. He explained everything in detail and ensured to answer any questions I had. The dental technician was especially gentle and took her time making impressions and taking X-rays. The office was very clean and the staff very friendly. I would recommend them for your dental needs. 2026 update. The staff are still extremely friendly. They have no problem doing the leg work to get your dental treatments approved by your insurance company and calling you once it has been approved. Other places I have been want you to follow up with the insurance and call them once the treatment plan is approved.

Negative experience: DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE — CONSTANTLY RESCHEDULING WITHOUT NOTICE I have given this clinic about four chances, and every single time my appointment was canceled without anyone informing me. On three different occasions, I had to drive there, arrange for my husband to leave work early to care for our young children, and miss work myself — only to be told upon arrival that my appointment needed to be rescheduled. For the final appointment, I decided to call ahead, and that’s when I was told they had to cancel because the doctor’s chair was “broken.” Again, no one had bothered to notify me. This level of irresponsibility and lack of consideration for patients’ time is unacceptable. The customer service is extremely poor, and the clinic seems very disorganized. Overall, a very frustrating and disappointing experience

Staff was caught not following sanitary guidelines (placing sterilized tools on non sterile surfaces and attempting to reuse them). Staff tried pushing unneeded services yet missed something the last 4 dentists seem had listed as a need to watch. Do NOT Recommend.

The normal dentist office is amazing but their orthodontist only visits this office once a month. I took time off work to come to this consultation.NEVER will step foot back in this office again. Don’t waste my time! Time=loss of income for a single mom!!!!

Fantastic experience: This is my first time visiting this dental facility and I am very pleased with the attention I received from the staff, including the receptionist, dental assistant, dentist, and hygienist. There was a short wait, but that was due to circumstances beyond their control.

Negative experience: Appointment was at 4pm. She came out told me she was running15 to 25 mins late....so waited. 40 mins past the appt time I was asked if I wanted to reschedule, she would be ready in 5mins though. Not real happy. If you know you're going to run late call before I leave the house fo appt, especially if running 20 minutes or more late.

Sage on Bloomingdale ave on Brandon FL is by far superior to any office I have been seen at. The friendly atmosphere as well as superior work is a welcome change. I would definitely recommend them for all of your dental needs.

They gave to my client an appointment for Friday we came to here and they are close and that appointment was they gave to her after they canceled that she had. Then you can come to here you have an appointment at 2pm but you need to wait that they finish the party. At 2:25pm. It is worst dentist office ever.

The office manager was extremely helpful and so patient, taking the time to thoroughly explain my options. She gave me real peace of mind and reassured me that I was in good hands with Dr. Issa. When I met with Dr. Issa, I was equally impressed. His bedside manner was outstanding, professional, kind, and very thorough. He carefully explained which treatments were actually necessary and which ones were not, especially in contrast to a previous dental office that quoted me over $9k in work, including on teeth that didn’t need treatment. As a self-pay patient, I truly appreciated not feeling pressured into unnecessary procedures. Dr. Issa prioritized what needed attention right away and helped me understand what could wait, keeping my budget in mind. The entire staff was warm and genuine, you can tell they truly enjoy working there, and it shows in the level of care they provide. Negative experience: After beginning my cleaning, the hygienist told someone she would be there "in a few minutes." Very shortly thereafter she told me she had to go evaluate a new patient, and would be back to me in five or ten minutes. I did not appreciate this, so l promptly left.

Negative experience: As a veteran, I’ve been trying to get basic dental care from Sage Dental for over six months, and it’s been a frustrating, time-wasting experience every step of the way. I’ve confirmed appointments multiple times, only to show up and be told there’s no record of my booking or that they’re overbooked and can’t see me. It’s happened so often that I’ve barely been able to get a simple cleaning done. Each visit feels like a runaround—long waits, unhelpful staff, and zero follow-through. I’ve driven out of my way, taken time off, and still left without getting the care I need. It’s unacceptable to treat anyone like this, let alone someone who’s served. I’m fed up with their disorganization and lack of respect for my time. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere for dental care.

Negative experience: I would not recommend this location. I took time off from work to make this appointment. Our very first visit was not that great. I love animals but I'm allergic to dogs and the receptionist had her dog there. The whole time trying to deal with the allergies really set me off. Then when I had to wait over an hour because they were so behind. Nobody communicated on the wait. Then after verifying with the lady up front who printed out what my cost would be per kid was not the same as what the nice lady in the back told me before she started on my son's teeth. $80/per kid was what the paper showed but 500/per kid b/c my insurance did not cover everything. Like how could you miss that??? I gave this review 2 stars because the lady who cleaned my kids teeth was friendly and knowledgeable. I told her I would not be coming back. The lack of communication, the wait was too long to then see the dentist playing with the dog, my attention to that was only grabbed b/c the older gentleman next to me kept making comments. I honestly wish I could have wrote a better review but nothing really stood out let alone did anyone seem to care.

Negative experience: By far the worst experience I have ever had with a dentist . I switched due to new insurance . The first appointment I waited over an hour and a half to be seen. You then receive a plan of upgraded services each service has to be scheduled in different days due to schedules . When a portion of the work was completed not only was my insurance billed but I was over charged $500 on my personal card . It's now 5 months later and the only response you get is yes we owe you a refund but only the corporate office can issue it . The office staff is untrained and helpful . Avoid this place and save yourself the headache !!!

Negative experience: I made an appointment a week ago and was looking forward to it due to ongoing pain. I completed the required paperwork yesterday after getting reminder texts. This morning, I got another reminder to fill it out again at 8am, but since it’s “to save time,” I assumed I could do it in person. When I arrived for my 10am appointment, I was told I was removed from the schedule for not submitting paperwork or confirming. However, the texts only mentioned “longer wait times” if not confirmed—nothing about cancellation. I also never received a call or message saying it was canceled. In fact, I got a reminder just two hours before. I’m giving two stars because I’ve had good experiences here in the past, but the communication this time was poor and frustrating. Canceling my appointment without notice or a chance to be seen is unacceptable.

I was advised to get the periodontal trays. In four months my gums when from disaster to wonderful.

I had a issue with my front teeth or loose and it was out of place where previous dental office did a terrible job fixing it where I had to go back and visit them twice to resolve the problem which the service was horrible so I decided to change the dental office to Sage dental of Bloomingdale. Definitely did a wonderful job of fixing my front tooth. I can eat and smile again with no problem. Thanks a lot to Doctor Sam and his staff definitely will recommend them to others now I have dental office I can rely on!!!

Negative experience: I would give it a 0 if I could. DON’T COME HERE!!! My friend came here after looking for a new Dental provider. He got 4 filling done last February. After the procedure he felt a sharp pain in the area of the anesthesia insertion site. He told the Assistant, but the Dr. had already walked away. The day after he started experiencing numbness on the left side of his face and on the 3rd day his face was drooping and extremely painful. After a few visits to the ER, MRIs and seeing Dr. Issa again the conclusion was that he had damaged my friends facial nerve and he is still struggling with this up to this date. These people have zero skills what so ever and did not acknowledge the problem to avoid legal issues, but thanks God he came across a Neurologist that indeed diagnosed him with Bell’s Palsy due to the dental procedure which is something rarely happens. Let’s see how this whole thing ends!!

To begin, we tried to schedule an exam and cleaning but were told they refused to do a cleaning on the first visit. When we arrived, I presented a "New Patient Package' coupon we received for a Free toothbrush plus exams and x-rays. The man at the front desk told me "Read the fine print- the coupon is only for cash-paying patients". We begrudgingly continued with the very uncomfortable x-rays. I was told to hold this very awkward piece of metal in my mouth so that pictures could be taken- and had to do this about 18 times to get all the photos done. Then, the hygienist proceeded to prick my gums about 3x per tooth and loudly announced to her assistant that my gums were bleeding- which happened with every single gum prick. Never have I experienced an "exam" like that in my life. They didn't even offer water spray to soothe my gums, I just had to swallow the blood. Finally, after the exam was concluded, I was presented with a treatment estimate that included an 'upgraded cleaning' for the cost of $487 (for the left side of my mouth) and an additional $512 (for the right side of my mouth). Never in my life have I been quoted such a high price for a CLEANING. For my husband, they wanted to charge over $800 for a gum treatment gel; and you can buy the exact one for $22 on Amazon. If you want to be nickel-and-dimed on dental treatments instead of treated like a human being... go ahead and try this dentist. We won't be coming back.

Negative experience: I was persuaded to get a full detailed exam(cause my insurance would pay for it).I repeatedly told them all I needed was a cavity filled.They kept me for 3 hours and did nothing but recommended a crown.I left.I won't be back!!

Fantastic experience: I went to Sage Dental on Wednesday with serious discomfort from a crown. After lunch break Dr. Sam took me in and evaluated the situation. Thankfully, Dr. Sam and assistant, Brenda took over 3 hours with care and concern to perform a permanent solution for the problem. I highly recommend Sage Dental and their thoughtful, caring and knowledgeable staff. Their professional treatment was above and beyond any expectations. I am grateful for them.

Negative experience: If you’re a millionaire, this is the place for you. I walked in there with my son and they told me $27,000 to fix his tea and I only brought them in there for a cavity. They charged me $260 even though they even had insurance And they persist on calling you not for the things that you need but for things you don’t so they can bleed your insurance the worst experience the worst dental that I’ve ever encountered. I suggest strongly you try somewhere else. Let Sage be your last resort.

Fantastic experience: Google recommended, before that I’d never heard of it. But they were all very nice. Kelly the manager was great, super nice and didn’t make me feel pressured into anything I can’t afford. The dentist and hygienist were great. Everything was easy. No complaints and would definitely recommend.
