Fantastic experience: I was a new patient here for an emergency dental issue. I ended up getting back earlier than my scheduled time and Dr Larsen was so great! He was so kind and my dental assistant was so great! The front desk staff were incredible and helped me feel very welcome straight from the start. I highly recommend this office. I've waited hours at dentist offices before and I was helped and got my tooth fixed in very timely manner!

Negative experience: If I could leave zero stars I would. I love going to the dentist, I go every 6 months. I had to switch because of my insurance and this was the most disappointing visit I’ve ever had. The entire reason for my scheduling was a cleaning, they did 20 x-rays or more - cut my gum and was the most uncomfortable dental experience I’ve ever had only for them to not have time to do a cleaning. Never going back.

Dr Ruiz and Kevin are awesome. Had to come in before my next appointment and Kevin made availability for that will definitely continue to come here.

Negative experience: When I booked an appointment they said it would be at an office to do a CBCT scan. They didn't have one there, they were fumbling over which spot in my mouth for x-rays. I had to wait over an hour to be seen by surgeon.

Negative experience: This Monarch office use to be a good place for a long time but since the last year or so they have been completely incompetent. They never return phone calls, their web site is a joke and they have been over billing me. I informed the office manager, she said she would look into but she hasn’t done anything about in over a year. Worst dental office I’ve ever been to.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Monarch Dental in Sandy for 13 years and they have been terrific. I have never had to wait past my appointment time and the staff has always been kind and professional. Jennifer cleans teeth like nobody's business.

Negative experience: So I’ve had a handful of issues here at this dentist. The front desk is very respectful but there is zero organization with time lines. They will call you and tell you to come in early and then you will wait for almost 2 hours. Yesterday I was told to come in for my wisdom teeth 10 minutes early so I got in at 8:40, it is now currently 10:20. This has happened to me twice now, 100% avoid getting wisdom teeth out from here and honestly if you can I’d just try and find somewhere that actually knows what time you’ll be able to get in. So whether it’s for a cleaning or something like wisdom teeth, plan on having the front desk tell you to come in 10-20 minutes early and then as soon as you get there they will let you know there backed up and have you sit there for like 2 hours.

Fantastic experience: After looking at all these reviews before my appointment. I was a little hesitate to go but this is where my insurance covered. I have to say they have exceeded my expectations. what everyone here was complaining about was totally not my experience. Everyone was professional and kind, they explained things really well. My entire appointment was your average 50-60 min. Don’t let these reviews scare you. So far, I have had a great experience with them and american fork location as well. Give them a try.

She apologized, asked me to call her, and offered solutions. I was genuinely surprised—in a good way—that she took the time to follow up on a critical review to understand what happened and improve her team. When we spoke, she was incredibly understanding and truly listened to my experience. Her professionalism stood out, and she made me feel heard while also acknowledging areas for improvement. Because of that conversation, I feel comfortable recommending this office to friends and family. Her leadership is clearly reflected in the kindness and helpfulness of the rest of the team. I also hope the individual I interacted with takes her guidance to heart and works on improving their bedside manner.

Negative experience: Terrible billing practices and poor communication "I am extremely frustrated with Monarch Dental. For the past two months, I’ve been receiving a $102 bill for a procedure done over a year ago. When I had the service, I paid in full and even called a week later to verify that my balance was $0 and that my school district insurance had been accepted. Now, a year later, they claim I owe money because insurance didn't cover it. I contacted my insurance, and they confirmed that Monarch Dental hasn’t even submitted a claim. Trying to resolve this has been a nightmare; they constantly dodge our calls (both mine and my husband's). The office insists I pay, while the manager tells me to wait another 30 days for an 'answer.' It is unprofessional to stress a former patient with ghost bills and zero customer service.

Fantastic experience: Hello guys. Let me tell you something about this place . They have a great and amazing customer service. At the front the people are welcoming you with a warm and gentle hi or how are you , making you very relax and comfortable. When you go in to see the doctor or for the X-ray , o god they are so gentle asking you probably that are you ok or is everything fine. The doctors are amazing as well they give you the best options you can have with your mouth situation, great consultation and great work. It was amazing. I really enjoyed being there , do you know why ? Because most of dentists offices are scary you hear a lot of machines going on buzzzzz bizzzz and all that making you scare as hell , but in monarch dental you fill relax and welcome and enjoying the time you have there because of there great team. Negative experience: I want to three or four other dental places and they want a three or four thousand do uppers and lowers when I found out monarch Dental would do them at a reasonable price I jumped on it i had my teeth made. They didn't work. It's been about 3 years since I've done them. And they don't work, and the bottoms broke, and the tops never worked. Then, I have lousiest service I've ever had in my life. They changed dentists 3 times and couldn't fix my teeth at all. Won't give me my money back. I spent over $400 and got nothing. I'm very dissatisfied with them i just talked to them and they won't do anything to do my refund, they are the lousiest dentists.I've been to don't ever go though you won't be satisfied.

Negative experience: Office and scheduling is very disorganized. Long wait times. We have been forgotten about in the waiting room for 2 hours, appointments canceled without our knowledge, rescheduling constantly last minute due to the dentist or ortho not being there, and have had multiple dentists and orthos. I have been coming here for 20+ years and the last few years have been nothing but issues. I would not recommend Monarch.

Negative experience: The dentist is good, but they never never on time. I always have to wait at least 45 min after the time of my appointment to be seen. It is ridiculous. The only time they are on time if with the 1st appointment. I keep going because the doctor is really good and do an excellent job.

Negative experience: Absolutely ridiculous. You can’t get ahold of anyone, anytime , and if you finally do, they put you on hold and forget about you. I’ve called at least 20 times just to schedule a basic appointment. The only reason I kept trying was because the doctor is great — I honestly wish he worked somewhere else.

Negative experience: After having dental work all my life due to an auttoimmune condition I can't even express how thankful I was to find a dentist that new what he was doing. Wasn't in a hurry and didn't steal my pocketbook. I know Denistry good and bad. Well done Dr Chidester and staff. Don't write a bad review call us. 7-25 Since Dr. Chidester left it has revolving door of dentists making a complete mess of simply replacing rings for attachment of my dentures.

Negative experience: I was a faithful patient for 20 years and suddenly kept having my appointments for deep cleanings cancelled and rescheduled on me multiple times. I finally gave up and found a better place. Don't let this be you. Go elsewhere!

Negative experience: They don't answer the phone EVER. Don't reply and tell me to call because you won't pick up. Absolutely infuriating.

Negative experience: I had two gum grafts done here, neither of which worked. This can be due to genetic or other factors but I suspect is also partially due to the conflicting advice I’ve received from the staff there. It was either four or five times that they called and cancelled my appointment, usually within 24 hours. Or worse, like the picture, after they were closed so that I couldn’t even call them about my appointment that was supposed to be the next day. I was often told by the front desk that the doctors were going home early. When I brought this up to the periodontist, she said she was sick but hadn’t ever taken time off without extensive notice outside of that. I don’t know if the office over schedules or if staff members are just lying, but my appointments had been cancelled several times by that point, and it continued to happen. I’ve noticed that all other poor reviews get the response to call, which, first off, I can’t do because they don’t answer the phone, and second, have already tried multiple times. Please don’t go here.

Positive experience: It was a very professional and clean area. They were straightforward and showed me exactly what they were talking about and answering my questions. However, I think there was some confusion with what I came in for. Maybe I don’t understand, but I was there for a check up and then I realized that I thought I would get a cleaning too, but then I didn’t.

Fantastic experience: I am a new patient and when I called to make an appointment the receptionist was very friendly and professional, listened to what I needed then referred me to Dr Pedro Luis. At the appointment the staff was very welcoming. The office is very clean and I could tell it was well managed. The dental assistant Becca was very friendly and professional and listened to my needs and concerns about getting new partials. They took X-rays and when Dr Luis came in introduced himself I felt totally at ease and comfortable. He listened and explained all my options and I felt very good about my choice in deciding to call Monarch Dental. I would recommend them to anyone!

Negative experience: They will waste your time i have scheduled 2 different appointments to get my dentures relined and both appointments i still don't have a relined and remind you on both appointments Ihave specifically explained what I wanted. This was the worst experience I have ever had. I would not waste your time or energy with these money hungry people.

Fantastic experience: I am 68 yrs old and have been to many dentists. My last dentist just retired. He was great. I was nervous about a new one. Dr. Larsen was amazing. Made me feel at ease, which to be honest I am not a huge fan of dentist. He even laughed at my jokes. I cannot give him 5 stars more like a 10, he is that good. Thank you Dr. Larsen. Negative experience: TLDR: They told me I had 8 cavities without cleaning my teeth and when I went for a second opinion at another dentist they said I had 0 cavities. I scheduled an appointment for a routine cleaning. When I got to the office they had the dentist come in and look at my teeth (after waiting for 30 minutes after my scheduled time) before they even did the cleaning. The dentist told me I had 8 cavities which I thought was odd since I’ve only had 1 cavity in my whole life. I then asked if they were going to clean my teeth and they said no because there was no time for them to do it and they couldn’t get my insurance on the phone to ask them how much a cleaning would cost me. This place is in- network and I called my insurance from the parking lot and they answered and said that they didn’t have any records of the office calling and were unsure why they would call to begin with since they should have an insurance portal. I decided to go to a different dentist to actually get a cleaning and they told me I have 0 cavities! So they were trying to scam me into $100s of unnecessary dental work. After wasting about 2 hours at their office and never getting the cleaning I scheduled I got a $75 bill in the mail because they didn’t run my insurance. Would NEVER go back here.

Negative experience: Used to be a great place, but things have changed. I can’t even get ahold of anyone during business hours, and no response to my emails or voicemails. Will not be returning.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Ruiz and the dental assistant were so patient with me as I had a major panic attack when I knew that needle was coming. But Dr. Ruiz really knows how to give shots. I barely felt the first one and didn’t feel any of the others. Dr. Ruiz and the dental assistant kept calming me and making sure I was okay. I am pleased with the outcome of my procedure and I highly recommend Dr. Ruiz!

Fantastic experience: Dr Q is new but very kind and positive. Jennifer was my hygienists and did a nice job (and complimented me on my dental hygiene). And Becca who helped me understand what my insurance covers and what my out of pocket expenses would be was very helpful and professional.

Negative experience: This was our whole family's go to dentist. Something definitely changed, maybe the staff or the office manager left because it's crazy bad. They never answer phones ,took me a month to get a follow up, show up and everyone is all over the place. They had to create a new chart which should have been done since it was for a returning patient. I will be looking for a new dentist for sure.

Negative experience: Let me start by saying how much I love Jennifer, the hygienist at the Sandy Monarch Dental. She is fabulous, and I will miss her, because I will never be back to Monarch again. In the 2 days that I’ve been trying to contact them by phone as well as from their website scheduler for an emergency appointment , I have received a tooth extraction, bone graft and stitches from another dental office who got me in same day, when I could no longer stand the pain while waiting to be contacted by Monarch. And what have I heard from Monarch? Crickets.

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff. Hoping Dr. Q stays a while because I've had only good visits with him. Both dental hygienists are excellent. The only downside is the turnover over the past 5 years, since Covid. I've tried another extremely high rated dentist but for many reasons having nothing to do with cost, I returned to Monarch.

Every single staff member even the ones that rotate to different offices throughout the week are all very courteous and take your needs seriously. I’ve been there when it’s been super busy and I’ve been there when it’s not quite busy, no matter which kind of day it is they will always take care of you during your appointment and make sure you get the best care possible. Negative experience: I would say this office was polite, quick is definitely not them. Some patients waited for 2 hrs waiting their turn. The doctors seem more concerned about how much money they can get out of you than what you really need. When we called the office, I was put on hold for 30 min. Hung up and called back to be told they are too busy. I definitely do not recommend going here unless you have all day to waste waiting for mediocre doctors.

He's friendly, gentle and what I liked about him was how he explained everything he was about to do as he worked on our teeth. He did a great job! Both my husband and I would highly recommend him if you are looking for a great dentist. So, Monarch Dental in Sandy, Utah is a great place for a happy, healthy, mouth!

Positive experience: I have had one visit so far at the Sandy location. (hence 4 stars out of 5 instead of 5!) But I was treated very kindly. The staff were great. The dentist I had an exam with was great (my memory of his name fails me.) They were very thorough with imaging, and took the time to show me what was going on, and why upcoming procedures were needed. I was more than happy to schedule my future care appointments with them. Their breakdown of costs made sense. I am an anxious person when it comes to dentistry, but I am looking forward to my next appointments because my anxiety is minimized, and I really do need to get these treatments done.

Fantastic experience: Found a super doctor here and have been getting regular cleanings and watching a few cavities in my mouth and they have me on special toothpaste. Today I had a filling done on a front tooth and a fitting for a nightguard. They made my front tooth perfect and I will get the guard when the holiday is over.

Fantastic experience: Staff is friendly and helpful, Helped me get work done I needed in a timely manner. My son was seen there as well and he had no fears and keeps asking when he gets to go back.

Fantastic experience: I just went in for a cleaning but Monarch gave me my first ideal visit, staff were confident and competent and at no point was anyone condescending. It was relieving to go in and leave where no one made any sly jokes about my teeth structure or shamed me for being behind on flossing. I'm looking forward (as much as one can) to getting some cavities filled in the coming weeks.

Negative experience: If I could give a negative review I would. First of all, I got my cavities filled here and the last one to go they didn't numb it. I said, "hey that hurts" he said "oh that's because I didn't numb it" I said "well can you numb it, that hurts." He said " no we are almost done." Second, they said my invisalign was all covered by my insurance but then took 2 months only to tell me they lost the clay imprints of my mouth and had to do it again. Then they lost the actual invisialign so I had to wait another month for it. They also started saying "oh we actually need $100 from you. Just kidding now it's 500. Also kidding give us 2000" they said they can set me up with a loan that won't affect my credit score and only have 1.9% interest then proceeded to give me NINETEEN PERCENT interest and everytime i paid early, there was a late fee, everytime i paid on the same day but after 11 pm there was a late fee. It greatly effected my credit score, and after i finally had enough money to pay everything off, they rejected my wisdom teeth insurance payment as well as my cavity fillings. And now they keep sending me bills off thousands of dollars saying "balance forward" and "wisdom teeth" and "cavity fillings" anything they possibly can to get money. They call me every week saying hey come back and give us money and pay us what you owe us even though it's completely unreasonable. Do not go here. Don't go to any of them. They are all the same no matter where you go.

And both the hygienist and the dentist took time and answered all of my questions and gave me great options for the work that I will need to have done in the future

Negative experience: Terrible experience, I suggest finding any other dentist office but Monarch dental in Sandy. I just wanted a simple teeth cleaning which I could have gotten for 60 dollars at my normal dentist but we just got dental insurance so I came here because it was close and what a mistake that was. This was a simple cleaning in one visit. My insurance covers cleanings, but they billed so much it was rediculous. They ended up charging my insurance so much that the insurance would'nt cover it all and then Monarch billed me for 116 dollars over what they received from insurance. There is so much more bad stuff including the front dest staff who missinformed me , but I will just end it here. It is frustrating. I feel these people are out to take advantage of the insurance companies and the customers. I have a call into the office manager Rebecca but we will see if I even get a returned call. I will never go back or send my kids there. If there were zero stars, that's what I would have given them.
