Gentle Dental Murrieta

Fantastic experience: The staff at Gentle Dental are friendly and helpful. I mentioned that my gum line is a bit sensitive to Mandy the hygienist and she used a gentle setting to ease the discomfort which I really appreciated. Doctor Sales had never seen me before but was able to spot a new issue and get me the referral I needed on the same day. Just a great practice to work with!

Fantastic experience: The service was absolutely amazing. I loved everybody there. They were so kind and honestly so helpful. I don’t have insurance right now and they helped me out so much. They have a great special going on right now for new patients definitely returning for service services

Positive experience: Dental assistant said I had to get 2 teeth abstraction which was wrong. Front desk Rep said I owed $600 which was wrong as I paid $300 in advance. With a torn rotator cuff I was sitting in the dental chair for 2 1/2 hours before I was worked on. Dr did not know what was going on with my case before he came in and had to leave out twice before he understood my situation. I hope it will be better next time I have an appointment. I was exhausted when I got home.

Fantastic experience: Finally I found my dentist. After long years of searching and changing my dentists every couple month. I found this office Gentle Dental I told myself I will give it a try. From the receptionist Robert to doctors and all staff they are very knowledgeable, they are working with your schedules to accommodate you, they are very professional. The hygienist she's very persise in her work and she has a fine hand. My dentists doctor she's amazingly good.Today she fixed my front tooth an I had tears of happiness in my eyes. She did am impeccable job. Finally found my dentist.I will recommend this office 100%.

Fantastic experience: I have been with Gentle Dentle on Los Alamos for several years. I am very happy with their knowledge and expert care of my dental needs. The staff is very friendly, flexible and efficient from arrival to check out and scheduling future appointments. All questions difficult, complex, or easy are always answered in complete detail with clear communication and two way understanding. X-rays don’t hurt my small mouth. Dental cleaning is detailed and thorough. Dental services and treatments leave me feeling like I have the best dentist ever! I highly recommend Gentle Dentle in Murrieta for all your dental needs.

Fantastic experience: Very professional. Friendly reception. Warm and efficient x-ray technicians. Straightforward DDS. Full-disclosure and transparent advocate as to expected steps to be taken next. Downside: quite loud pipe-in music mostly of wind and percussion instruments. It would be nice if they use the low ambient, fluid sounds to help patients calm down as they await treatment. patient rooms are also open and close to each other - could hear the private conversations. Maybe a more mellow and relaxing music can distract patients from hearing the sound next door/cell. Conclusion: this clinic is super busy but very organized. Their level of care is excellent.

Negative experience: My husband scheduled a appt and they were not willing to print out the forms bc he was not able to filled them electronically nor help him translate. Bad customer service. I have dealt with other dental clinics they are more helpful than gentle dental murrieta. I definitely do not recommend them.

Fantastic experience: Gentle Dental did a great job at intake. I had to reschedule an appointment and had no issue finding another online that fit my schedule.

Negative experience: I was not informed until the day of my appointment it was going to be a two-day process. Which was inconvenience for me because I was going to go out of town. Made my appointment 19 days after my right side was done. This is the 3rd time I had appointment. Once with Dr. Kallgos which was great & another time was an disappointment because I was not informed up front the cost which I found out when I arrived for my cleaning it turned out to be a deep cleaning which of course is a different price. Hopefully my next appointments will have a better experience

Positive experience: More than 3 1/2 hour ordeal to get teeth cleaned & annual X-rays. No cavities, no other dental work. I arrived 5 minutes early & left nearly 4 hours later. Nice staff.

Negative experience: I had a disappointing experience at this office. The receptionist was kind and welcoming, but my interaction with the dentist felt very pushy and uncomfortable. I came in for a routine check-up, and despite saying I was not interested in braces, the dentist continued giving me a long speech about why I “needed” them for health reasons. What made it frustrating was that he kept saying “it’s your decision” and “I’m just making a suggestion,” while continuing to lecture me after I had already declined. Previous dentists have told me braces would only be cosmetic in my case, so hearing otherwise so aggressively felt off-putting. I was also told I have gum disease despite having no symptoms, along with needing a root canal, which I will absolutely be getting a second opinion on before proceeding. If another dentist disagrees with these recommendations, that raises serious ethical concerns for me. I understand dentists should educate patients on treatment options, but there’s a difference between informing someone and making them feel pressured or talked down to. Once I said no, the tone shifted and the interaction started to feel condescending. Overall, I did not feel listened to or respected as a patient.

Fantastic experience: This was my first time at the office. They were kind they were upfront with the work that I needed what my insurance would cover. Staff was very friendly and very informative of the next steps.

Negative experience: Went for an evaluation, they said I'd needed 16 crowns $13,500. I've went to Moreno Beach Dental for a second opinion, they just did the evaluation and cleaning $175 they didn't recommend any crowns

Fantastic experience: YOU GUYS!! If I could give ten 5-star-reviews I would. I showed up at this office almost in tears because of a terrible experience I had at Western Dental who essentially took x rays and then refused to clean my teeth. I was now in a predicament because my one x ray covered by insurance for the year was used up. Gentle Dental was able to take x rays and as a courtesy didn’t bill my insurance! (Who does that?!) they are so generous. Nicole, Robert and Hayley at the front are so nice and welcoming and actually listen to you. The dentist was through with the exam and the hygienist did a very thorough cleaning. I’m so grateful to have found a good office- that’s a rarity these days. Thanks team! April 2026 update: They have a new hygienist, Mandy. She’s amazing! Best clean I’ve had in years!

Negative experience: My corrective work appointments now outnumber my regular dental appointments. Fillings worked on have been left jagged and poorly shaped causing pain and sensitivity by multiple doctors. The last doctor I saw here said she would not do the correction because here peer did the work and not herself. Respectable. But why is the scheduling team not on the same page?? My drive is 40 minutes which could have been spared. I also utilized the texting service to request an appointment due to the filling being uncomfortable, got a reply saying they would check the schedule, and then heard nothing back. When I decided to just show up in person, the representative said “I got busy”. One doctor who worked on me has 0 patience and instead of communicating anything really, walks away without saying a thing. Tools are put down and he’s just gone. Really unsettling and either unprofessional or just a personal jab he’s taking. Still can’t decide.

Negative experience: Thankful that the doctor noticed the multiple infections and prescribed antibiotics—exactly the opposite of what my previous dentist did. Unfortunately, I’m disappointed that Robert promised to send my dental notes from the doctor I saw “as soon as possible,” he literally told me by the end of the day but that didnt make sense at all. A week at least would make sense...I still haven’t received them. Patients have the right to their records, and you have 15 days from the date of my appointment to provide them. If they are not sent within that timeframe, I will notify the dental board. I already gave the necessary information for my records to be sent to me.i shouldn't need to go back for this

Fantastic experience: The office help and the assistants were very very caring, sympathetic, friendly and understanding of my fears from fears due to dental visits. They lead me every step of the way. Dr Cowen was amazing. I couldn’t tell you how many times other dentists had to stop to let me regroup and then continue. I sat there through the whole thing while he worked on my teeth. Very nice, patient and friendly man. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who asks. And I am the biggest baby to see dentists like I said due to childhood experiences

Negative experience: Horrible costumer service. I scheduled an appointment over 2 weeks. The day of the appointment upon arrival told me insurance decline and they couldn't do service. Even if I called previous to double check .

Positive experience: Here’s a tightened, sharper version that keeps it harsh but focused only on the dentist: The front desk staff and the tech are outstanding. Professional, kind, and welcoming. Unfortunately, this is the second time I’ve seen this dentist, and her bedside manner is the worst I’ve ever experienced. And I had over 20 years of military dental care, so that says a lot. She walked in without greeting me, didn’t explain what she was doing, and lowered the chair without any warning. There was no communication, no reassurance, and no basic courtesy. She appeared visibly annoyed that I was in pain, as if discomfort was an inconvenience rather than the reason I was there. She showed no empathy during the procedure, and when it was finished, she said nothing. No explanation, no follow-up, no closing comment. My issue is not with the office. It is specifically with the dentist’s lack of professionalism, communication, and basic human decency.

Fantastic experience: I was so impressed with all the up to date equipment. Took the time to not only show me my X-rays but explain everything, so I knew what was going on in my mouth.

Negative experience: They are the worst and their customer service sucks. They quoted me cost for an implant than increased the price by $2,500. The employees that work the front end of the office are rude especially their office manager Alex he is the worst and so unprofessional. When I brought up issues he brushed them off and tried to shut me down. They need to hire people that actually care about be professional. The hygients is great but most of the other staff memebers need a customer service refresher class

Fantastic experience: New to this office. First initial appointment was a simple check up. Second appointment I had work done. Third was a follow up. As of now I am completely satisfied with the staff and the dentist. I've had a positive experience thus far.

Fantastic experience: This was our second visit to Gentle Dental and we felt that they were organized and ready for our visit. Veronica, the dental assistant, is very personable and makes you feel comfortable as she asks questions to get to know you and to understand any fears or resistance you might have to the cleaning procedures. She adjusted her plans for future visits as our conversation revealed some roadblocks on the way to reaching our treatment plan. Each change was welcome and reduced any resistance to the day’s teeth cleaning. She adjusted the plan to finish two visits in this one. Even planning for more frequent cleanings was seen as a positive, since that would mean more visits with the understanding and efficient Veronica. We’ll be returning next week for fillings and look forward to that experience. We definitely find this dental practice to be Gentle Dental.

Fantastic experience: My veneer popped off so I jumped over the Gental Dental without calling. Here it is New Year's Eve and I'm panicking. They worked me in and figured out why it keeps popping off. A little adhesive and a little reshaping and I was thrilled.

Louanne, Nicole, and Cowan went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of every step of the way. They were attentive, kind, and truly made me feel valued as a customer. Their professionalism and willingness to help made the entire experience smooth and stress-free, and it’s clear they genuinely care about providing excellent service. I’m very grateful for the outstanding care they showed and couldn’t be more satisfied with my experience.

Fantastic experience: I've had an exam and two cleanings here and everything has been excellent. Staff is informative and friendly.

Negative experience: My experience has been horrible! Four crowns and each one needed a root canal afterward. Something was done wrong. Then they doubled. My records, swore up and down. They had not worked on one of the crowns and ordered me out of the office when I kept Insisting that they had done the crown. Humiliation plus everything got infected and I’ve had a lot of pain. I will add that Doctor Quan was very good and helpful to me. My saving grace there.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend! I had a few cavities that needed to be done and as usual I was nervous because usually getting cavities filled is a very painful ordeal. But I can pleasantly say I actually felt nothing, no pain, no rough pressure. It was actually very easy going. I've never had an experience like that before, normally it's unpleasant and painful but they are very gentle and it was painless! Also the staff is very nice and genuinely helpful, 5 out of 5 experience for sure!

Negative experience: In october i had a dental cleaning scheduled at 3pm. I got there 10 mins early to finish signing and filling out paperwork. I waited a while until i got called back, which was fine because I understand being behind and busy. When i got called back they took my x rays and then had a Dr i believe do measuring on my gums with a probe. Then afterwards I waited a while until a receptionist came to me and said “I’m sorry but our hygienist left early for the day and wasn’t aware of it. The only one who can clean is doing other patients so would couldn’t do your cleaning today”. They told me this at 4:30pm. Im sorry but how did you not know since i was there at 3pm that your hygienist left early because my appointment was with them to clean my teeth. I understand being busy but they should’ve communicated earlier that they couldn’t do my cleaning rather than me waiting about 2 hours before being told since I got there before my appointment. This was my first interaction at this office and I was sad it wasn’t a great first impression.

Negative experience: The doctor and the team here I thought we're great. The people in the office were nice to my face, and I liked the doctor..but to be emailed, called multiple times, mailed a bill multiple times, over a 27$ balance after spending 3000 here on a bunch of dental work I just had done is crazy to me. The bill has no reason for the charges..and when I called to ask what the bill was for I recieved attitude that it was for my crown. Okay..fine I paid for the everything in full already but I will pay you you're 27 dollars that you cant explain to me what exactly is for when I have already paid for all of my dental work. Harassing someone over 27 dollars is insane to me. The lovely lady Krystal Karen whatever her name at your office needs to learn customer service. When someone's irritated you should just keep quiet and keep your comments to yourself. I really dont care what you think or what you have to say. I will not be returning and I will let my family and friends know to not come here either. Crazy behavior over 27$. Lost a customer that spends thousands over bad customer service and unnecessary comments from your employees who cant explain a bill

Negative experience: D.D.S Ortiz was very unprofessional, rude and cold. This is my second appointment at this dentist, our first appointment was with D.D.S Cowan and asked to switch D.D.S because he was also very rude and cold. Is this a requirement to work at this place as a D.D.S? The rest of the staff is very nice! front staff, the assistant, I think his name is Donny, they are kind and gentle, but the doctors are not gentle at all.

Positive experience: It was okay i guess for my first visit, i did show up like 20 mins late, so my fault on that. But it took a while before anyone working behind the counter talked to me. Like another 20 or 30 mins after i showed up. They did do my X-Rays still tho, so that was nice. Needless to say, my appointment got spilt. Ummm i guess I’ll update this again after my next appointment & let yall know how it goes.

Fantastic experience: Great service and a very clean facility. Dr. Evert Cowan is kind and knowledgeable. He is also funny too . I am grateful to add him to my team of care providers. The team was great yesterday after arriving late , they still got my cleaning done and I am so grateful they did not turn me away . Between a last minute interview and traffic , I was terribly frustrated and was still able to get my service. They are the best !

Negative experience: When they fixed my tooth, they quoted me a price and I said ok. When the tooth was supposedly done, they sent me out after I paid. But there were jagged places. I went back in to ask them to plz smooth the tooth out. As the doctor is filing it a bit, she said that's another surface and I'd have to get it done at an additional cost as it's another surface. Are you kidding me? I wasn't told this upfront! And she sent me out with a half done tooth that had a jaggedy surface and had said nothing!! That's like getting a fill on nails and they do the bottom half and send you out. When you come back they'd tell you, oh doing the top half is now another charge and it's another surface. This is crazy. Why would I go back to a place like that. That's called bait and switch. I never had that experience before. Unbelievable. Definitely don't recommend this place. Who does this

Fantastic experience: My daughter has been in Invisalign treatment with Dr. Haydt and is almost finished with her plan. Throughout the process, we’ve had such a positive experience—not only with Dr. Haydt, but also with the entire orthodontic and front office staff. Everyone has been welcoming, professional, and attentive. After searching for the right orthodontic (and even general dental) office, I truly feel this is the place to be.

Fantastic experience: The office staff are all so friendly and helpful. The hygienist, Veronica, is so kind with my 95 year old Mom. They were understanding to her needs and gave her breaks and positive reinforcement during her deep cleaning. Dr Cowen was very kind and encouraging to my Mom. Fantastic experience: On August 16, 2025 at 1:30 PM I was scheduled for a cleaning. At Gentle Dental in Marietta, California I was there 27 minutes and I was done. My hygienist was just like the name Gentle I loved my experience there and highly recommend it to anybody that has dental needs.

Negative experience: I scheduled a cleaning, Dr Evert Michael Cowan stated he did not have time for a cleaning. He would only give me an exam. I questioned him that I scheduled a cleaning, that I should get a cleaning. He said I can give me an exam, then we can have a plan for care for another visit. I stated I scheduled a cleaning I should get a cleaning. He said that is not how things work here told me to find another dentist and walked out. Completely unprofessional! Apparently if he can’t up sale you, you’re not welcome in the office now. There was no issue with the previous dentist at that office.

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience at Gentle Dental, Murrieta! Went in for a cleaning and a couple of cavity fillings. The staff was friendly, the hygienist was gentle but thorough, and the dentist made sure I was comfortable the whole time. Everything was explained clearly, and the process was smooth and painless. Fantastic experience: The dentist I got my dentures from wanted to charge for any adjustments. My brother got dentures about a year after me and said that was all included. I found gentle dental from a girlfriend of mine. I went there they did my adjustments and did a hard adjustment and my dentures have never felt better. I would highly recommend these people they tell you exactly how the program should be and how they operate

Fantastic experience: Staff (Nicole and Robert) were very welcoming and understanding. Hygienist was very knowledgeable and patient. Robert took time to explain the costs and checked on my multiple benefits and payment options. The doctor was thorough and explained what I needed and patiently answered my questions. The hygienist also explained whe needed to be done and told me I may be able to get dental trays at a discount because I already had them done a few years with and unknowingly threw them out not realizing I would need them again this will save me hundreds.$$$$ she then took time to explain about using an electric toothbrush and the benefits of using an electric tooth brush and the difference in models and didn’t try to sell me one. I have always been hesitant to visit a dentist because I get terrible anxiety BUT not with gentle dental everyone made me feel comfortable. Nicole was super helpful when I was having trouble completing the patient health assessment on my phone. She sat with me at a computer and assisted me in completing it on a regular computer. Positive experience: I went in on Saturday morning for my 9:20am appointment & waited about 15 minutes (which is okay) but then once in the room, the guy doing my Invisalign (who I’ve never met before) didn’t introduce himself to me. Normally, I see a female doctor. This guy kept walking in & out of the room & between patients. He then told me that they were “short staffed”-which I believe since he took longer than necessary for what I needed done. Just an fyi, if you go to an ortho appointment on a Saturday, make sure you don’t have anywhere important to go to afterwards if you’re on a time crunch.

Fantastic experience: I have been to many Dentists in my 68 years, civilian and Military. The coordination of the employees here, and their care for me has to be one of the best experiences I have had, and I tell you, I shudder as I enter any Dental Office. These folks have me rethinking that kind of expectation.

Fantastic experience: Saw Dr. Cowan today he fixed my front tooth it has bothered me for years! I was always insecure to smile in picture and he got the color perfect and am so happy with his work!! Highly recommend this place! Also saw the hygienist Varonica, been going to see her for years and always does an amazing job. I will follow her anywhere :)

Negative experience: The staff and facility is nice. The reason I didn't give it more stars is because I was there for 3-hours for an "establish" and cleaning appointment. Then, I left a voice message that they did not return. I called the next day they were open. I spoke to one of their CSRs who said they'd talk to a DDS and call me back. Which they did not.

Fantastic experience: I don't like anything to do with a dentist, after mine retired I couldn't bring myself to go and now I have some major issues going on. Well I was received with a caring approach and the staff was just delightful. The dentist was patient and took very good care of me. It is still not my favorite place to go but I think I have found my new dentist and look forward to having a happy mouth again. Thank you so much Gentle Dentist Murrieta.

Negative experience: The dentist did not perform a thorough exam. A visual inspection and oral cancer screening were not performed. Also, the dentist did not communicate my diagnosis or preventative measures. However, he did recommend pricey cleaning services, with one not being covered by my insurance.This used to be a great office with dentists who were thorough, gentle, and communicative. This now feels like all the other chain dental offices where they want to upsell patients and do minimal examinations.

Fantastic experience: As anybody doing their due diligence for anything nowadays I looked at all the reviews for dentist offices in the inland area for quality service. This dentist office definitely surpassed my expectations. I can confidently assure that anyone that walks through their doors will experience supportive staff (shout out to Louann) and patience for patients with anxiety issues. My mother received excellent care from their staff. It helped that their Spanish speaking staff were comforting and reassuring, allowing her to confidently move forward in accepting services at their location!

Fantastic experience: I have to say everyone was respectful and welcoming; I had a really good experience there even though there was one thing but it was rectified as soon as I clearly notified the attending dentist! I will certainly return as I was comfortable and the end product was a thing of beauty!

Fantastic experience: Everyone was so nice and I loved that Veronica talked me through my dental cleaning and explained everything to me. Dr. Maricelle Ortiz-Luis was great as well along with the rest of the team. I’m looking forward to my next visit! :)

Negative experience: I went in for a checkup in February. The staff was friendly and I was content with that . However, it turned out I needed a deep cleaning . They asked if I wanted to do it that same day . I said yes, they said I needed a deep cleaning with laser and irrigation. At first I said ok , I changed my mind about the laser and irrigation part . I asked if they could please just do a regular deep cleaning since I couldn’t afford the laser out of pocket . The hygienist then started asking my “why” she asked if I didn’t care about my health and was pressuring me. I told her I couldn’t afford it and she still went on to do the laser and irrigation part. Which cost me $383 out of pocket . I told the receptionist and she assured me she would talk to the manager. I emailed them as well , I never heard back from them . Unfortunately I won’t be going back or recommending this office to anyone.

Fantastic experience: I love Gentle Dental! Everyone on the staff is friendly, knowledgable, and welcoming. Full service dentistry, orthodontia, periodontia, and hygiene services are top notch.

Fantastic experience: GREAT experience all things considered. The office kindly worked me in late on a Friday afternoon after I broke a tooth the day before leaving on vacation. Dr. Cowan is the first dentist to get me completely numb and comfortable on the first try in a LONG time! As far as I am concerned, I have found my new dentist! The entire staff was friendly and sympathetic to my emergency situation and my dental anxieties. Can’t thank or praise them enough!

Fantastic experience: Varonica was the best dental hygienist! I unfortunately have some complications from my previous dentist and she explained everything so well and thoroughly. I learned so much from her in just one visit! This whole office is great, so clean with all the newest technology and the best part is the staff!

Fantastic experience: I have a toddler and I'm extremely busy with school and work. I got behind on my dental health, and my teeth were suffering because of it. Varonica, the hygienist, really calmed all my fears and helped me feel better about my lack of cleanings in the past few years. She is so kind and really easy to get along with. On top of all of that, she is stellar at her job! All of the people who work here are really fun and it makes going to the dentist much less of a chore. All of the front office are great as well! (Previous review) This is a great dentist office, everyone who works here is so kind. They explain everything ahead of time and answer any questions you have. I have had a lot of issues with my teeth, and they have given me options and I have never felt judged. It makes a really big difference!

Fantastic experience: Gentle Dental has the nicest team around. Everyone is very welcoming and each step of the process was so easy (even when I forgot to do my intake forms ahead of time). Highly recommend if you want a trustworthy and friendly dental team!

Fantastic experience: I suffer from dental anxiety, so it takes a lot for me to get to the dentist, let alone sit in the chair and hear horrible things about my dental health lol! Everyone at the Los Alamos office was absolutely amazing and made me feel very comfortable in knowing I would be taken care of once I sat in their chair! From check in to check out, I had a great experience with this office, and that says a lot for someone that may share the same anxiety! Nicole and Haley in reception are super sweet and easy to talk to. They helped guide me through the new patient process and were smiling and laughing the whole time. Once the check in process was completed I was greeted by Olivia who helped me with Xrays. She was extremely friendly and talked me through the process of getting Xrays completed. With nerves and anxiety still set in, I was then put in the dentist chair. I didnt wait long until Dr. Cowan came to introduce himself and discuss what we were looking at. What I appreciated was the realness about the procedure I was going to need and what to expect. He was super quick with the procedure and barely felt any pain, knowing how extensive my visit was going to be. He was thorough and helped answer any questions my husband and I had. Working with Varonica and Louann made going through some extractions/deep cleaning that much more comfortable. They were easy to talk to and helped with adding some laughs to help the nerves be more at ease. Robert at the front desk was also amazing and was readily available for any questions. He was very thorough when it came to discussing my benefits and what next steps would be needed for my dental care. Overall, I have had many experiences with dental offices and can say this staff has been great! For someone who shares my dental anxiety, I can honestly say Gentle Dental off of Los Alamos has an amazing group of people who makes you feel right at home and knowing your dental health is as important to them! My big smile is back and beautiful as ever. Thank you, Gentle Dental! Highly highly recommend Gentle Dental!

Positive experience: Overall, my experience at Gentle Dental was good. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. The dentist was good also but not as friendly as the support staff. My one disappointment was how often they wanted to upsale me. One person wanted to give me a filling on a wisdom tooth!? They do good work but it cost!!
