Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars, I would. My experience with this office has been extremely frustrating and disappointing from start to finish. The dentures I received are very painful to wear and have not met my expectations. The biggest issue has been my crown. My original dentist started the crown procedure and then left the practice, leaving my treatment unfinished for over a year. During that time, my temporary crown fell off, and despite numerous phone calls and follow-ups, the issue was never properly resolved. I have already made multiple trips to the office, including two separate visits just for impressions, even though they advertise same-day crowns. After calling again for an update, I was told I would need yet another appointment for impressions. This has resulted in wasted time, unnecessary travel, and ongoing inconvenience. I travel nearly two hours each way to this office and have repeatedly had to take time off work for appointments that accomplished very little. The lack of communication and follow-through has been unacceptable. Because my crown treatment remained unfinished for over a year, I eventually requested a refund. I was repeatedly told that the refund was being processed and that I would receive proof of the refund by email. Despite these promises, I have never received any documentation. Every time I call, I am told that someone is unavailable, in a meeting, or will call me back, yet no one follows through. I was originally told the refund would take about a month, but it has now been almost three months and I am still waiting. I would also strongly caution anyone considering their financing option, the Smile Generation Credit Card. My treatment was approximately $5,000, yet I have ended up paying over $8,000 due to interest charges. Even while making monthly payments of around $350, I was charged more than $2,000 in interest, and interest continues to accumulate. It feels like a never-ending cycle that benefits the lender far more than the patient. Between the unfinished treatment, repeated delays, broken promises, lack of communication, missing refund documentation, long travel requirements, and excessive financing costs, I cannot recommend this office. Please do your research carefully before committing to treatment or signing up for their financing program. UPDATE: It has now been even longer, and I still have not received my refund. Despite multiple follow-up calls and repeated assurances that the refund was being processed, no refund has been issued and no documentation has been provided. Meanwhile, I continue to be charged interest on financing for treatment that was never completed and services that I ultimately did not receive. What makes this even more frustrating is the complete lack of communication and accountability. No one has taken ownership of the situation, and obtaining updates requires constant effort on my part. I have been patient and understanding throughout this process, but there comes a point where this level of delay and lack of follow-through is unacceptable. Patients should not be left paying interest and accumulating additional financial burdens because a provider failed to complete treatment and then failed to process a promised refund. I am still waiting for a resolution and will update this review again if the situation is finally addressed. Update 2: finally got my refund but I am still paying the interest for a job that was never completed! Last advice: DO NOT use smile generation credit, I reported them to consumer protection bureau!

The office staff are always kind, welcoming, and accommodating, and the office manager works magic helping patients navigate the financial side of treatment so they can get the care they need. What I appreciate most is that everyone in the office treats you like a person, not just another patient or dollar sign. Truly makes all the difference. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: I had been going there for about two years, but twice I was kept waiting for two hours without any treatment, only to be told they weren’t prepared and sent home. I was disappointed because the response did not feel sincere or professional.

Negative experience: I am in tears writing this…MY ENTIRE LIFE IS FOREVER CHANGED AND RUINED. I have chronic pain from receiving work here. Please Do not under any circumstance get a root canal through this dentist. I have had to undergo multiple surgeries and am now over $20,000 in debt trying to reverse the malpractice of the endodontic work done here. The endodontist only comes in as a third-party a few times a month, and every visit felt like a complete cattle call. Every room was packed. I was placed in a room full of storage and tools while my root canals were being performed. Multiple people worked on my teeth who were not the endodontist, and to this day I still do not know who they were. The work was done so aggressively that I now suffer from chronic inflammation and am facing serious ENT surgery for sinusitis after they drilled far beyond what should have been done. They have no remorse or shame, laughing in your face about how they haven’t taken a break or eaten all day while working on your teeth…. Father’s D This is by far the worst dental experience of my life, and this office should be investigated immediately. The staff was chaotic and dismissive from the start. Within 30 minutes of my first consultation, they already had me signing paperwork and beginning procedures before I had time to process anything. It felt like whiplash. There was absolutely no empathy or compassion for patients, only pressure and money. Going to this dentist was one of the biggest mistakes of my life. I have had lasting health complications ever since, and I would never recommend this office to anyone. Please do not go here.

Negative experience: Avoid! I used my Delta Dental insurance to visit here thinking I would get a check up and cleaning like I did with my previous dentist. (I recently moved to the area and needed to change providers) They wasted an hour of my time, no cleaning, and then tried to upsell me $2500 in services including a “deep cleaning” so they did not do the standard cleaning. This place is a scam so just wanted to share so others don’t have to waste their time like I did! Edit: I’ve been getting calls from this office because of my negative review. I was going to delete it but then noticed the other negative reviews further support my experience of being upsold to $500 deep cleaning rather than getting a standard cleaning as I had selected in scheduling this visit, and re-doing all my past dental work again with them for another $2k. (Check the 1-star reviews and you’ll see this is a consistent experience here.) I have notified my insurance company, and I will not be returning. Since I know you read these, Dr. Tehrani, stop calling me trying to get me to change my review. *

Positive experience: I've been coming here for about 2yrs + The office is clean, staff seems pretty friendly. However, prices are pretty high. Depending on the insurance you may have, it helps! But they still find a way to dig in your pocket. The wait time to see the dentist could be a little better, but I probably wouldn't want anyone to rush while working on my mouth. So I can wait a little while. Calling and asking for someone to return your call and it never happens! is somewhat annoying. I've had this to happen 3-5 times at least. Overall every place is not perfect, but with the couple of cons I mentioned I hope this can be easily be resolved.

Negative experience: Short version: The staff are pretty nice and I think the dentist does a good job, but the billing practices are suspicious and the office doesn't honor your time well. It takes a lot of work to advocate. Long version: Since moving to the area I have really struggled to find a dentist who is not upselling you constantly. I find it exhausting to have to constantly question what is being offered vs what I actually need. Working in healthcare myself, I just want to know what I actually need to do, not have to battle my way through refusing or consenting to hundreds of extra dollars of work each visit. The 1st time I came here, it seemed professional. They are really up to date on technology. The only hiccup was when the x-ray tech forgot to put the lead apron on me, and I learned that she had been doing a CT scan on me. I didn’t love that radiation exposure and she apologized and was mortified (probably bc she didn’t know if I was pregnant). I would have said something if I realized she was doing a CT scan but she didn’t say what she was doing to me before she did the scan, so I didn’t know to speak up. She did use the apron during the regular x-rays. It was an honest mistake on her part. I learned (too late) that they make you schedule cleanings and exams separately - and you cannot schedule cleanings online. My spouse and I were both frustrated when we took time off work only to learn that a (2 hr) appt would only involve a 5 min exam OR a 20 minute cleaning. The wait times were long and while it seems like they have a lot of appts open, they don’t seem to run on time. When I got a notice from my insurance about how much the visit had cost, they upcharged by THOUSANDS of $. I initially panicked, but I didn’t get personally charged more than I had already paid in person, so I think they were just fishing for money from my insurance, which I found skeevy. Update: I just got another notice from my insurance saying that Hastings Ranch has now billed them for “dental instructions” that are not covered by insurance. From reading reviews, I see this has happened to other people. I wasn’t taught anything about my teeth (they spoke to me for less than 2 min total) and it’s unethical to charge for extra “instructions” when that should happen as part of a standard visit anyway. At a follow up 5 months after my first visit, they tried to do another full set of x-rays (not just bitewing), and I declined, both bc of the radiation exposure from last time and bc I have never been to an office that wants x-rays every 6 months - I’ve only ever been asked to do them yearly at most. My gut said they were just trying to do everything possible to up-charge my insurance. I got a lot of grief from the x-ray tech and the staff about declining. I don’t mind doing things that are clinically indicated, but the guidelines I looked up from the American Dental Association and Delta Dental (my current insurance) both indicate that it isn’t. I don’t like being made to feel like a “difficult” patient. I won’t go into it more because of the character limit but it wasn’t great. It feels like if you decline their up-sells (rinses, irrigations, deep cleanings), you are jeopardizing your oral health, which is frustrating and disheartening. I won’t be coming back here, and neither will my spouse. While I like Dr. Tehrani - he seems jovial and tech savvy - I feel like the technology has eclipsed the human touch of a provider actually looking in your mouth and taking time to examine you. I’m exhausted from having to constantly question the up-selling, and I just want a dental office that tells me what I need without up-selling. We’ll be trying out some other dentists in the area, and hopefully they won’t take 2-3 hours - who has that kind of PTO to waste waiting around? The staff are generally kind/competent, I just don't like having to advocate that hard during a dental visit. If you don't mind that, this could work for you and I'm sure they will take good care of you. The dental work itself isn't bad, just the rest of it is frustrating.

The entire staff was wonderful and very helpful—from the office staff, Norma and Christina, to the dental staff—Justo and Mila. Everyone was kind, professional, and made me feel comfortable throughout the visit. I also appreciate that financial assistance options are offered, which helps make dental work a little less painful on the wallet. Negative experience: Went to Hasting Ranch Dental group for a 2nd opinion and they really tried to take advantage of me. My initial quote from another dentist was $450. Hastings Ranch quoted me around $5000 worth of required work and recommended services. They also tried overcharging me on my insurance copayment. Luckily I did my research on my co payment before going to see themm I filed a greivence against them and investigation shows they were trying to over charge me. I have proof of it and will post the document soon. I am sure they will respond to this review and act like they are concerned and make it seem like they want to resolve this but dont be fooled by it. They are very friendly but deceiving. You should not have to pay extra for good work and common courtesy. Well hopefully they change their practices.

Positive experience: I wish they had numbed my gum a bit. After regluing my crown back in, the flossing ( even though it was for a short moment) was very painful and upsetting. I also wasn't advised this may hurt a bit. Maybe it's me but I also like it when the persons working on you, also introduce themselves with their name.

Negative experience: The actual work I received here (two root canals and two crowns) was good, but the billing department here will absolutely take advantage of you if you're not very on top of your insurance and when / what exactly you have to pay. Every single time I talked to someone here about billing, they had a different story about what is or isn't covered and what it will cost. They started by telling me my insurance is very basic and won't cover the root canals or crowns (not true) and used that as an in to get me to sign up for their financing under the guise of "just in case." I wouldn't normally do this, but I came in desperate need of dental work and I did not want to wait any longer due to the pain. They had me sign the paperwork in the operating chair immediately before the first step of the process. That "just in case" turned into a $2000 loan that I'm now on the hook for. All in, I've paid ~$2400 for what should have been $750 in copays. I always had to be the one to call and follow up and ask questions about these issues through the 6 or so months it took to get my work done, and every single time they strung me along just well enough to get my into the next appointment. They will never call you back about billing issues, but they will always call you to schedule your next appointment. The paperwork and stories they have given me never line up with what my insurance is charged, or the work they claim to be charging me for. I'm sure I'll get a nice reply here about how they take these things seriously and I should give them a call. If that were true, they would have called me back 6 months ago. There are plenty of good dentists in the area. Don't waste your time here.

Negative experience: Average rate times, around 30 minutes or so. The dental hygienists were friendly but the services were subpar. Higher than average estimates given and quality of care varied greatly depending on the staff member you got. They take most insurances which is great, BUT they also like to overcharge or recommend more services than are truly necessary. They did a great job on more complex work (that also costs more) compared to the regular fillings/cleanings. The receptionists could use some work. Not very kind and have been more rude than not. I have had to reschedule on numerous occasions due to double booking on their end. They also have interesting billing practices. If you do go here always keep a copy of how much they are charging you and what services you received! Make sure you follow up with your insurance as well. Tldr: Good place for a BASIC cleaning, but do not recommend for ANYTHING else. The work is too inconsistent in quality for me to feel comfortable recommending it to anyone.

The offices are always clean, and one can tell that they always updating their technical knowledge and equipment. If your interested in the best care you should give them a shot.

Negative experience: I just left this office. Last visit I was up sold a deep cleaning. Today I'm told they can't do a standard cleaning after a deep cleaning. I need a 285.00 cleaning. I have never had this happen to me before. I'm 65 years old. Had a few deep cleanings. Never the protocol. Each time I have been here. They have tried to upsell. I feel this is a scam to get you in the office. I will be finding another dentist. As will all 3 other members of my family

Fantastic experience: Have been a patient for about 12 years and grateful to get an emergency appointment today for cracked tooth. The dentists and specialists are excellent as well as tech and office staff.

Fantastic experience: Very good experience. Dr. Elnaz Hassan was extremely good in her diagnosis of the problem and offered practical options for me. She was excellent in her care for my lower molars, which required a lot of knowledge in completing the work correctly. Dr. Hassan made me feel very comfortable throughout the entire process and kept me at ease during the entire operation. I recommend her highly if you want first class service, expert care, and excellent results.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Ezra Solaiman Tehrani was so nice and took the time to explain what he was doing, what was happening to my tooth and was just very gentle and really made sure I understood what was happening. I have never had a dentist who explained in such detail and care. I really appreciated his kindness and the time he and his assistants took to explain everything to me. I usually feel like just another thing at work when I go to doctors/dentist and not a human being so I really appreciated him. Also Dr. Pedram Marhabi did a great job with my extraction. Still healing but this dentist office really does take the time to care and explain to their patients. Also their receptionists are all so nice too. Highly recommend if ur insurance works here.

Dr. Tarani is an exceptional dentist who combines expertise with a truly caring approach. During my visit, he took the time to explain every step of the procedure, making sure I felt comfortable and informed. His attention to detail and gentle touch made what could have been a stressful experience completely pain-free. The office itself is immaculate, with state-of-the-art equipment and a calm, welcoming atmosphere. Dr. Tarani clearly prioritizes his patients’ comfort and well-being above all else. Fantastic experience: The staff are very friendly. I first went in to get an opinion and possible root canal on a cracked tooth. Doc suggested it was less than a 50% chance of success due to tooth damage. I needed time to think it over and they let me have it. I decided to get my tooth pulled and the doctor did a good job. They waited until the site was numb before extraction. I had no real pain in the tooth so waiting the couple weeks until the tooth extraction doctor was in was no problem. If you need emergency dental care Pasadena Smiles did good by me. I needed an emergency root canal and the pain was making me go out of my mind.

The wait time was pretty long but I acknowledge that they were down a person today, and that happens and no complaints there. Overall experience was a fantastic one, and they worked on my teeth very quickly and professionally.

Negative experience: I've spent about 4 hours of my life here and all I can show for it is 1 mediocre cleaning. They will try to sell you $10k worth of "repairs" - so you've been warned. I never write reviews but this place really got me worked into a lather. It's one of the only HMO dental providers in town and don't they know it .... place is a scam. Don't waste your time.

Fantastic experience: Appointments are always easy to make. The staff is extremely pleasant and professional. They keep you informed of your treatment during the process. During this visit I had my teeth cleaned by Christina. She did a quick and professional job. I also needed to get a teeth protectector to assist me with my grinding issues. During this process, Denise worked on me and Gusto assisted. They were both very personable and professional. I love the atmosphere and professionalism every time I visit.

Negative experience: What a bait and switch operation! It seems that everything that my son needed was not what is covered by my insurance. So, 2cavities and a deep cleaning put me back $1650. This place is practicing highway robbery and is too lazy to process insurance paperwork or doesn’t want to wait for reimbursement. I’m going to dispute the charges.
