This clinic is the BEST in Pasadena! I’ve been to 3 other dental clinics, the difference is Mak&Kleiger is not about the money! Also, every employee here is professional and kind. Fantastic experience: Today I had a filling for a chipped tooth done with Dr. Kleiger who is the best dentist and has a very professional caring team. I also had my last routine teeth cleaning done in January this year and very pleased with the service I received from Dr. Kleiger and his staff members who provide very professional service with welcoming atmosphere. I was especially impressed with hygienist who was extremely gentle and thorough in taking care of cleaning teeth. My family is under care of Mak & Kleiger Dental clinic for over 20 years.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Klieger has been my dentist for 8 years. He did my Invisalign, removed silver from my teeth, removed cavities, and has given me caps. His manner is calming, he explains your situation in detail, and explains what he’s doing periodically as he works. I used to be terrified about going to the dentist, (maybe because my last dentist gave me cause to be anxious) but with Dr. Klieger, I’m so relaxed and confident in him that I almost go to sleep as he works! On top of all that, they have the very latest technology on all procedures and the office is big and beautiful. My daughter, my son, and daughter-in-law also see him and rave about him. I highly recommend Dr. Klieger! And BTW Dr. Mak is also great! He’s advised me after cleanings on the days where Dr. Klieger is off, and he’s been terrific!

Positive experience: Tiffany was very nice. Nice experience. I cannot say the same about front office. I was 6 minutes late. The girl from the front office handed me the papers with charges to sign. I was going to take a look at it. She did not let me do it, saying that i was late.

Fantastic experience: My first visit at Mak & Kleiger was great. I saw Dr Mak today on my visit and he was wonderful. I’ve always been scared to go to dentists and I was nervous going in today. Dr Mak was patient and took his time to explain the treatment plan he suggested with options, and talked about the pros and cons of each. Fantastic experience: I have been a loyal patient here for more than 20 years. I have no doubt as to the high standard of care I always receive. I wouldn’t switch, I’m very happy with how they have treated me and will continue to have my dental needs taken care of by Drs. Mak and Kleiger. I have decided to have some cosmetic work done to several of my teeth as well, and I’m extremely happy with the result and felt that they treated me just as gently with the veneers as they have done with reparative dental work. They have a great office staff, and they have great hygienist as well! I would not change and I’ve never experienced a reason to do so

Dr. Mak is attentive and patient, explained to me about the procedures he's going to do in clear summarized details, which I'm very grateful. I will need to do follow up to see how it goes with my teeth, but so far the whole experience is very positive. Fantastic experience: I just visited my dentist for a follow-up after a deep cleaning, and also for some maintenance. I find this dentist very attentive; every time I finish a treatment, he comes over to check on my condition and patiently answers all my questions about any discomfort I have. He’s very rational and doesn’t push unnecessary procedures, always giving me professional advice on the next steps for my dental care and orthodontics. I truly believe he is an excellent doctor.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Drs. Mak & Kleiger for about twenty years. There is no reason to go anywhere else. I always receive excellant care from the doctors and dental hygenists. Today I get a crown.

Positive experience: I was happy with Terecita’s Dental cleaning. However, the coldness Of the office, and the busyness there were great stressors. There were so many people that it was noisy and seemed crowded. Dr. Mak said that everyone had a full schedule and that the specialists were there too. It was not pleasant for me. This was the first time that I experienced this crowdedness.

Fantastic experience: This was my first time here and I couldn’t recommend this place more. Dr. Kleiger and team were absolutely wonderful! As someone who does not enjoy dentist appointments, I can honestly say this one was painless, thorough, and efficient.

Negative experience: The estimate from the front desk is NEVER CORRECT! The billing department didn’t know how insurance work. Maybe they intentionally give patient a wrong quote. I did my filling and cleaning here. The service is awesome and the dentist is very patient. My dental insurance was delta dental PPO and is now anthem blue cross dental PPO. When I was using delta dental, the billing department told me that delta dental use a TOA (table of allowance) to list my coinsurance on different procedures. They said that this is very uncommon and that is why they always give me a wrong estimate. However, after I switch to anthem blue cross dental PPO, which use a very common percentage shared as the coinsurance (20%), they still give me a wrong estimate up front. They didn’t tell me that certain filling procedure are not covered by my plan. This never happened on other dental office since they will run my insurance plan to see which is covered and which is not covered. I know that sometime the billing department may not be able to see if there still a deductible left in my plan, however, the difference they estimate and what they charged is not the deductible. The billing department really ruined this great dental office.

Positive experience: Cynthia was rushing trying to get my x-ray. She asked if it was top right molar... I told her "no" bottom right molar. She took a x-ray of my top right. And after confirming with Dr. Kleiger that it was my bottom right. She returned to take the correct x-ray. I asked her to make sure i would not be charged for that x-ray she had taken by mistake. She said I "would not". She was clumsy and spoke loud & slow as if I were deft. Dr. Kleiger, on the other hand... was professional and kind. He has a very calm demeanor. The numbness is still wearing off. I'm looking forward to my molar being normal again. Thank you Dr. Kleiger!

Exceptional care and service every time I visit, never did he push for anything that I didn't need done to my teeth. His Hygienist Michelle was my choice all the time and she is the best. Positive experience: Even though I filled out the online registration form (including medical details) no one had reviewed it before I arrived. Because of other medical procedures, I needed antibiotics prior to a cleaning. Someone could have saved me time by taking this step. I had to reschedule the cleaning.

Based on what others have reviewed, I began going to Mak and Kleiger,DDS for Dr. Mak ever since I moved to Pasadena a few years ago. Fantastic experience: Found our new dentist! My husband and I have been trying to find a local dentist that we both would like. A co-worker recommended Mak & Kleiger DDS. First and foremost, the front office and all of the dentists and staff were so kind, but professional. We had our first appointments, with x-rays, initial exams, and cleanings. My husband’s exam went great. As for me, I needed a deep cleaning as I hadn’t been to the dentist since Covid. Yes, my bad. And honestly, I always feel nervous when going to the dentist, but Dr. Kleiger explained what process or steps he was going to take before he started. Everything was very clear. My husband and I are very happy and will be going to Mak & Kleiger for all of our check-ups.

Positive experience: Front desk called me to confirm my appointment for the next day, then cancelled, rescheduled 3 months out and hang up (it's been a while since I got to hear the landline phone slamming noise) on my failure to understand what had just happened. I guess after 15 years of going there I will have to find another dentist. Love the doctors and dental hygienist (this is by no means a rating on their services) - but as other reviewers observed: the front desk needs some serious refurbishing and without it the rest is just not accessible.

Negative experience: The providers are all more than competent, but front office can be unreasonable. Recently changed employers, new insurance effective since 6/1 but not yet reported/processed by Delta. Manager agreed to bill insurance and not charge me but I feel uncomfortable going in not knowing my new group id, membership number, or even having direct confirmation from Delta of my new enrollment. I had unpleasant phone conversations with two front office representatives and was told I had to choose between a $40 cancellation fee or billing Delta knowing my eligibility will eventually be confirmed. I was alerted to this on Friday afternoon for a Monday appointment, and have had few business hours to correct any reporting gaps. This will be my last visit if I go in at all.

Fantastic experience: Today was my 1st appointment and I think Dr.Hsu is great!!! She was so thorough I trust her and feel very confident in her ability.

Positive experience: Getting an appointment was a bit difficult. I don’t think their automation works the way they think it does. Also, I waited longer than seemed necessary to be seen once I checked in. They told me they were preparing the room while about 5 other patients who came after me were called in and I was still waiting. However, once I was in the chair the staff was fantastic and they took very good care of me. I am still gonna go back and hope the minor stuff are worked out.

Daniela the hygienist was especially helpful -- explaining the procedure clearly; letting me hold my own spit tube(!); explaining how to brush very near the gums with molars, &c. I told her that I'd had little trust in adults as a kid, for good reason, and that I'd had 13 cavities by age 13. But if adults had explained things in the way she did, instead of just invading my mouth with no explanation, then I would have been empowered, and far more likely to do as I was told.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Dr Kleiger and Mak for years. They are great. The staff is super nice and the office is clean. Both dentists are really good. I have never had an issue. I started going to them when they were off Walnut and El Molino. I have seen both. Dr Kleiger is not in on Thursdays. I mainly see Dr Kleiger , but that is only because of the days that I scheduled my appointments. When he is not in, I see Dr. Mak. The office is located on the 2nd floor and there is parking on the street if you don’t want to pay. If you’re looking for a new dentist, I would highly suggest you call them.
