Fantastic experience: First The front staff is very efficient. Reminders of appointments. Always kind. Honest. The clinical staff. Also efficient and excellent at what they do. The Dentist himself Dr.Eric Shin. Gifted. He restored my broken front tooth along with one beside. I look Amazing !! I strongly recommend Towngate Family Dental and Orthodontics. Very professional. Dr. Shin knows what he doing. He is a dentist and service that can be trusted.

Fantastic experience: I love this place! Never thought I’d say this about a dental office but it’s because every visit is a great experience. Dr. Chin and all the staff have always been friendly and most of all professionals. They are proficient and competent at their work.

Fantastic experience: Look, we've been coming here for the past 3-4 years if I'm correct. Last year, our service was interrupted. They switched from HMO/PPO or vice versa. Anyway, we attempted to go elsewhere. It just wasn't the same. When open enrollment came back around last year. I switched my dental plan. Now we're BACK! That should speak for itself My most recent visit 4.30.2025 . Most recent visit (son) 7.10.2025 he had a tooth that didn't fall out. The dental team made it pretty comfortable for my. I wasn't there, to make a long story short. We continue to get the same service that we've always gotten Recent visit for Micah and Elijah 9.22.2025. Micah had 0 cavities!! I'm very proud of that. We try to stay on top of his oral hygiene. Sometimes it gets challenging. Thanks to Towngate for the continuous great service! 6.1.2026- ALLLLLLL GOOD!

Negative experience: Please save yourself and do not go to this dentist office. Unprofessional, the tell you to come in for a service and then when you get there you can't get the service they tell you can pay out of pocket then say you can't pay out of pocket. Would not ever go here again

Negative experience: Don’t come here if you can’t get time off work or are feeling under the weather , they denied me services because I was sick and wanted to reschedule and because of my past no shows they refused to see me a different day , never heard of a dentist office doing that , will be going somewhere else

I had a missing tooth for a long time because I wasn’t sure about getting an implant in the US. When a friend recommended Dr. Shin, I decided to give it a try, and I’m so glad I did. From start to finish, Dr. Shin explained every step clearly, which really helped calm my nerves. My procedure just finished and took about four months. My implant looks completely natural—my friends can’t even tell it’s there. Thank you to Dr. Shin and the whole team for your great work and for helping me feel confident again!

Negative experience: Save your time and don’t come here. I was new to the area and needed a new dentist and saw this had good reviews so I wanted to try it out. I scheduled my appointment for an exam and teeth cleaning all in the same day. I go and they make me wait forever in the chair just to be told I’ll have to come back tomorrow because the person who cleans teeth isn’t there ? I’m not sure why they wouldn’t tell us that before we walked into our appointment. They also told me nothing was wrong with my teeth when the dentist barely checked. I go to another dentist and I did actually have a cavity. The orthodontist was also a little rude. Choose somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: Very pleasant and efficient office staff. Dr. Shin was also very professional and congenial. He showed me the X-rays and carefully explained what was going on with my tooth sensitivity. Nor did he push to do an expensive root canal because he did not think that it would improve my situation. He did shave a tiny amount of the sensitive tooth crown to make it align better with the opposing tooth. The “bite” was immediately more comfortable!

Their customer service is outstanding, and every visit is met with friendliness, professionalism, and welcoming smiles. From the moment you walk in, you feel comfortable and respected. My son and I truly enjoy going there. In fact, my son often asks, “Can we go back to that dentist we went to before?” When I tell him it’s Towngate Dental, he immediately says yes because he remembers how fun and kind everyone was. That alone speaks volumes about the environment they create—not just for adults, but for children as well. The staff is extremely gentle, caring, and professional. They take their time to do quality work while still being very efficient. If you arrive on time for your appointment, they get you in and out without unnecessary waiting. You are never left sitting around all day, which shows how well-organized and respectful they are of your time. Because of their efficiency, kindness, and high-quality care, I never hesitate to return. Towngate Dental meets all of my family’s dental needs, and I trust them completely. I proudly give them five stars—actually, double five stars. They are truly excellent.

Negative experience: So i came in to see if they could help me out I had a crown fall off I had done here and I had to pay $1,800 out of pocket to get that done I thought hey maybe it's under warranty but no they said I had a cavity under and decay so they could not use the crown I felt like maybe the crown wasn't sealed right so I ended up getting a cavity underneath it but anyway I went in to see what they could do for me They basically put a little bit of glue on it grinded it down for me and I had a tooth my back molar which cracked and it was cutting my tongue the dentist seen it and grinding it down for me then they told me I could have a complimentary cleaning cuz I hadn't had a cleaning in a while I said is it free and they said yes I said okay so then they wanted me to come back for a couple feelings and the next thing I know I get a bill for $55 and I thought the cleaning was free very upset I won't be returning I'll pay the $55 and good luck

Fantastic experience: I experienced a cracked tooth. They helped me by taking away the pain as I had planned a trip out of town. This Dentist is highly recommended to give you the best care possible. I will be returning soon.

Positive experience: My appointment went well. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The man taking the X-rays was helpful. Dr. Kim was professional and explained to me what a root canal and crown is with a teeth model. My insurance wouldn’t cover the crown or root canal unless there’s a cavity and they recommend a night mouth guard to prevent “cracked tooth syndrome”. The office was very clean and modern.

Negative experience: I’ve always taken great care of my teeth and go to regular checkups, so I was shocked and disappointed by my experience at this dental office. I went in because I was having sensitivity in one area, and was suddenly told I had multiple cavities and needed several fillings—one which was not covered by my insurance due to my brushing too hard. They pushed for me to come back for these “fillings” but said they could do a deep cleaning the same day. I refused because it made no sense to scrub areas already sensitive and painful. They then told me to schedule everything for another day, but not before trying to charge me $50 for an “outstanding bill” from a year ago that I was never informed about. The whole situation felt unsettling, so I went to another dentist for a second opinion. The new dentist confirmed I had zero cavities and explained that some offices use scare tactics to bill insurance and collect unnecessary cash payments. This experience was unprofessional, unethical, and felt like a scam. I will never return to this office, and I will be filing a formal complaint with the dental board. Patients deserve honesty—not fear tactics and bogus treatment plans.

Positive experience: The doctors are very nice & professional. They don't try to add services or treatments you don't need. Giving 3 stars because my dental work was not billed correctly. My insurance sent the check to me instead of the dental office. I never deposited the check & received a call a few months later demanding I pay the total amount because the services were render. I went to the office the next day in the rain & wrote the check over to Towngate Family Dental. I never received an apology for the mistake the billing department made or a thank you for the inconvenience of driving to the dental office to provide the insurance check that was clearly not supposed to be sent to my home. I asked if this will continue to be an issue the next time I go in & was told problem had been corrected. Definitely have mixed emotions about this place- great doctor's but not good customer service & billing errors.

Positive experience: I really LOVE this dental office… this is actually one of the few places I can actually say I’ve been at for years. ***UPDATE*** They are highly expensive; price check- about $2,500 ⬆️ more than other offices who do excellent work as well, with the braces and do not give deals when you have more than 1 child who need them… also the orthodontist; Asian Lady is extremely rude and disrespectful to people kids… however, the staff as far as the ladies N the front and office manager are the only reason I’m sticking with them until my children treatments are complete (braces)

Fantastic experience: Dr. Kim and the hygienist Denise is absolutely excellent in their work and work ethics here at TOWNGATE FAMILY DENTAL AND ORTHODONTIST! They know how to treat their patients helping them to feel comfortable and in good hands. I had a root canal done and it went very well. They take time with you making sure you are feeling no pain. Like I have been coming here for over a month now almost two and haven’t had one problem. I am very pleased with the work they’ve done although as a dentist they should offer their expertise because some clients don’t know exactly what is the proper step to take and instead of pulling a tooth that can be saved is best to save that tooth and not just pull it because it may be the easier way for them leaving people with spaces in their mouth and they don’t have the insurance to pay for it to get implants so that would’ve been very helpful, but other than that I would definitely tell all my family and friends about TOWNGATE FAMILY DENTAL AND ORTHODONTIST! Thank You For EVERYTHING!!

Negative experience: It’s been terrible I keep having to get the same crown adjusted.. the people are nice and the doctors are super nice too ,but this 1 certain crown has been a real nightmare for me.. however it’s the only place I feel comfortable… I’ve had sooo many crowns done here.. but this time around has not been fun… they try.. but my mouth is a difficult case.. I really regret this crown.. I’m damned if I do and I’m damned if I don’t.. saved one problem but is causing other problems.. my bites off I’m constantly grinding that certain tooth.. ugh I hate it.. otherwise good place but yea

I shared this info with the staff and they were able to do a filling on the spot that was important since it was going to be hard to get to with braces. my son is not good with needles but the staff was patient with him and they got us in and out in good time! Clean office and friendly staff.

Fantastic experience: I have been bringing my family to this dentist since 2018. I moved dither away, tried another location and ended up here again. The staff is very pleasant. I have been through a few dentist but all have been thorough with check ups, cleaning and suggestions. I have not felt like they are overselling work to get done just to find something to do. Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming to Towngate Family Dental & Orthodontics since I switched my insurance from HMO to PPO. I had a terrible experience elsewhere and have been pleasantly surprised by the level of care and customer service. The ladies in the front (Julia and Brenda) are warm and welcoming and the staff clearly communicate and ensure you are aware and comfortable with your procedures. I had majority of my appointments during my pregnancy and they took great care of me and were sweet when I had an anxiety episode in the chair. They are all extremely patient and kind. I trust them with my care and that of my family.
