Fantastic experience: Dr Ruhlman is amazing as are hygienists - Tiffany and Brittany. Dr Ruhlman is kind, patient, and very thorough. I recently had my first root canal and I was extremely nervous about it. He explained everything that was easy to understand. I'm an empath and highly intuitive to energy. During the procedure, his energy was calm, grounded, precise, and he has an extremely steady hand. I couldn't have asked for a better dentist! Tiffany is my favorite hygienist and I have followed her throughout her career path. She's friendly, communicative, and my teeth always feel incredible! I met with Brittany recently regarding an Invisalign consult and she is kind, funny, and made me laugh. It's apparent that these 3 live what they do and they definitely deserve an award for being the best it!

Fantastic experience: My name was called right on time by an affable hygienist. She took Xrays, cleaned my teeth, and applied a floride treatment. Her instructions for follow-up were clear and concise. The dentist came in and examined my neck, mouth, tongue, and teeth. All good, a satisfactory visit. Everyone involved knew their role and performed well.

Fantastic experience: Been a customer of associated dentist my entire life. I was sad to see Dr Resch and Luann go. Now that I’ve been working with Dr. Yick since Dr. Resch’s departure and he’s have been wonderful. Additionally Arrony at the check out desk is always so helpful and on top of it. As a customer of almost 35 years, I recommend Associated Dentist.

Fantastic experience: I was running late, flat tire on my bike. I had to walk to the office and was 20 mins late. The flexsability and concern that I was ok, and effort made to accommadate the situation was appreciated.

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to Associated Dentists since the late 1970's and saw Dr. Winter and Dr. Resch, both of whom were highly skilled. I just had a procedure with Dr. Blackwell and Sarah which went very well - again, I'm amazed at their skill level. I highly recommend this clinic.

Fantastic experience: I had a very comforting and nice experience with Dr Wallace, Brit and Arrony! I actually like going to the dentist here! They are always so welcoming and professional!

Negative experience: Large offices, well lit nice ambience, friendly professional staff. Upon first visit a pretty thorough examination is done. Training and equip excellent. When two dark spots appeared on one tooth the young dentist recommended fillings. I questioned if necessary because felt fine and not experiencing any issues but dr was insistent. Few days later was done over my weak objections. When I complained next day about sensitivity and pain they brought me in almost immediately for follow up care. Got temporary relief but soon was hurting again. Now I have a sensitive tooth that hurts over even a simple food like vitamin gummies, so annoying. Want them to know quality of care is great but I challenge their judgement. Did they really have to fix something that wasn't broken, was it eagerness to make a buck? Was it orders from the top? Now I have a problem they made and they can't fix

Fantastic experience: Dr. Wallace at Associated Dentist in St. Paul, MN recently performed work on my front tooth for a crown. The procedure went flawlessly in the preparation on the tooth, the care to get the exact matching tooth color, and the final installation of the crown which fit perfectly. Aaron, his assistant, did an excellent job in all the preliminary steps leading up to the procedure and assisting during the crown installation. I am extremely pleased with the result of the crown and highly recommend Associated Dentists. It's great to be able to smile now without a broken front tooth.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at Associated Dentists last week. I saw Dr. Ruhlmann and his assistant Kristine. They walked me through the procedure and told me what to expect. I have been a long time patient here and have always appreciated everyone that works at Associated Dentists!

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Associated dentists for decades. The staff if professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. They make retainer and crowns on site. They have a full lab. They also do in-house whitening. A special thanks to Dr Yick, who is very personable and patient and does such good work on my teeth. I would not go anywhere else!

Fantastic experience: I had extraction surgery with Dr. Butkus. Three teeth needed to be removed & it was virtually painless. The appointment was shorter than expected and the cost was less than estimated. Overall an outstanding experience.

Negative experience: They changed their coverage at the start of 2025 without sending out any sort of notification and claimed they had a sign up in their office, but I wouldn't know since I was in 6 months prior. It wasn't mentioned to me directly until I called them after receiving a bill from my insurance for a cleaning that was previously fully covered, and I'm just lucky that it wasn't an appointment where they take x-rays. EDIT: Since Associated Dentist reached out to me about my review, I'm updating it to explain my situation in more detail in order to give them something to reference in case they decide to reach out again. When I first called them about my bill, they told me it was something on my insurance's end and not their fault. I went back and forth with them and my insurance for a while and, after talking to Associated Dentist about what my insurance claimed and the results of my own research into the situation (including speaking to multiple people I know personally who regularly deal with insurance billing), they stopped blaming my insurance and simply said there was nothing they could. Associated Dentist claimed that it would be impossible for them to keep track of all their patients' coverages and stay on top of who was in-network. I explained that, considering they send me automated messages or emails for various reasons, why couldn't they send me one telling me to check whether or not I was still in-network. They made no comment to this. The cynic in me feels like they knew they would lose patients who were no longer in-network, so they decided not to say anything and let them find out once a bill arrived. I tried asking Associated Dentist if they could offer a discount on my $125ish bill as I didn't feel it was fair for me to be on the hook for the full amount for something I felt was their fault. They refused and told me I could either pay the bill or let it go to collections, so I paid the bill and left this review a little bit later. Now, Associated Dentist called me, again trying to claim it was my insurance's fault. When I refused to engage in the back-and-forth again, they suddenly offered me a discount on my original bill, but I hung up before hearing them out. If you're wondering if it would have been better for me to just pay the $125ish bill from the start than to go through all the effort of calling and writing this review, then I would normally agree, but it just goes to show how bothered I was by the experience. I am fortunate enough to be able to handle a sudden expense like this, but I imagine there are others who might run into this same situation who aren't.

Fantastic experience: Amazing - after a questionable quote from a separate office I went to them for a second opinion. Brit, Jill and Katie could not have been more patient with my questions and concerns and answered them with knowledge, compassion and humor (which was massively appreciated after weeks of anxiety over my previous experience at the first opinion I sought.) No pain during my 1st SRP session either - thanks Katie! Dr. Yick was incredibly compassionate and caring in explaining my options, and when he left the room I felt like I was in a great spot - a feeling I rarely have felt in a dentists office. When Isela showed me my out of pocket for the day I was flabbergasted - in a good way. Mai was the cherry on top as she helped me schedule the rest of my treatments - all within a couple weeks, FABULOUS! Thanks Associated Dentists!

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to Associated Dentists for 14 years. I have had 2 dentists, Dr. Howley (who got married and moved out of our area) and Dr. Butkus. Both are great and extremely professional. Dr. Butkus is a remarkable individual and I really respect him personally and personally. I have had several hygienists who were excellent and I am astounded by my hygienists today, Maddy. She is by far the best hygentists that I have ever experienced. Professional, personal and very caring, she made me so relaxed. I am so glad to have her as my hygentists!

Fantastic experience: I just saw Dr Heller. Very nice and professional. I scheduled my next appointment with him. He said he’s been at Associated Dentists for 25 years. Wow. Ann was my hygienist. I’ve seen her before and will always have her for cleanings. She’s super gentle and does a wonderful job.

Negative experience: The care we received here for 6 years has been adequate, Dr. Butkus is a bit condescending and pushes the “extras” quite a bit. Increasingly the pressure to do cosmetic work made me feel uncomfortable. There is a gray area with some clinics- what is necessary for one’s health and what will line their pockets nicely? They harassed me relentlessly last fall when my insurance changed during a divorce. I had to take time out of my schedule to learn it was a billing error on THEIR part. When our insurance changed to MA they dropped us like a hot potato because they only allow a certain amount of MA patients. Do poor people not deserve dental care? Maybe they just can’t be upsold, or afford whitening, implants, etc etc. it makes me sick.

Fantastic experience: I had a great appointment and experience with dr.buttkiss and hygienists Ruby and Courtney! I hadn’t been to the dentist in a couple years and they made jumping back in relaxing and enjoyable!

Fantastic experience: As soon as you step through Associated Dentists’ door, you know your experience will be a good one. You are greeted by lovely surroundings and a welcoming receptionist. I’m happy to be a patient of my hygienist Ann and doctor Butkus. Ann is excellent in checking for issues and advising about areas needing additional daily attention, then making my teeth feel new. I know she sees many people and teeth every day, but she’s still personally interested in me. Dr. Butkus takes all the time needed for the exam and an explanation of any developments to watch. He’s efficient - great at all treatment including crowns - and friendly besides. My recommendation of Associated Dentists is wholehearted.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Butkus and assistant Andria made and put on a biomimedic crown. This is a crown which saves some of the structure of the tooth. It is completed in one day. This is the 4th crown Dr. Butkus has done for me and I will never go back to the previous type of crown. This biomimedic crown and the procedure are far superior.
