Fantastic experience: Best dental experience I’ve had in a very long time everyone is kind gentle and understanding and works with you to create a plan that fits your needs.

Fantastic experience: One of thee best dental experiences I have experienced. Just think of your favorite uncle or grandpa on your teeth. He was nurturing but professional.

Negative experience: I strongly advise against going here. The service was good and I enjoyed chatting with the people, but I was assured that for my basic clean that all I would need to pay was my copay. I didn’t get anything extra so you can imagine my surprise when I then got a $150 bill for it. I called and emailed asking for clarification on what these additional charges were, because they had assured me they accepted my insurance. They never picked up my call/returned my voicemail or emailed me back, and that happened over 2 months ago. Would not recommend despite the good dental care because of the hoops you have to go through with insurance with them and their lack of response. Edit: I was in a place where I did not have wifi, and I did not know I had a bill for months (part of the reason I confirmed with them that it would be covered by my insurance), they sent a debt collector after me who persisted even after I had paid it, and with me and the debt collector reaching out to this business it took them from October to March to tell the debt collector I had paid it, and that was only after I mentioned that I would be bringing it up to the BBB if they didn’t fix it and it hurt my credit score.

Fantastic experience: Great dental office. 99% of a dental practice is the skill and demeanor of the DDS. Dr. Marc is top-notch in both.

Negative experience: I had previously visited this dental clinic and had a very positive experience with the dentist, who was professional, attentive, and clearly skilled at her work. That is why I decided to return. However, my recent visit was disappointing due to the way the front desk handled the situation. I waited for about 40 minutes past my scheduled appointment time. When I asked for an update, I was told it would be “just 5 more minutes,” which turned out to be inaccurate. After waiting longer, I was then told that because I mentioned I had limited time, I could either cancel or continue waiting, since the doctor was still with another patient due to complications. In response, I said that after waiting that long, I would have appreciated being informed earlier, or for the schedule not to be set so tightly if delays were likely. The response I received included statements such as “that’s how medicine works, you just have to wait,” that the front desk staff is “just a middle person,” and at one point, “what do you want me to do, take the patient out?” which came across as dismissive and unprofessional. What I found most frustrating was that the responsibility was placed on me for having time constraints, rather than acknowledging the delay. At no point was there an apology for the extended wait or for the inaccurate time estimate. I fully understand that delays can happen in medical settings, especially if a patient requires additional care. The concern is not the delay itself, but the lack of clear communication, accountability, and basic courtesy in how the situation was handled.

Negative experience: It was not good first Dr check the problem he said i need a root canal first and have to put a crown but for that another dr has to do that so I make an appointment which was in two months! Anyway went back to the dr who gonna do the root canal she started with Anesthesia waiting a few minutes nothing happened put me more and nothing put more and she said if you feel pain I can’t do that so have to send me to another dr for that she give me antibiotics and pain killers it was a 3 or 4 days and am still feel the pain and i can’t open my mouth and feel a lot pain when am eating so I call the office wants to ask why I feel like that they said she will call me never did is more than a month am better pain is less I check with another dentist he tell me she put the anesthesia In the wrong place that’s why am on a lot pain she damage a nerve My new dr is doing everything he finished the root canal now we waiting to put the crown I don’t have to go through 3 different doctors and of course everytime I have to paid some cash my insurance doesn’t cover in total Definitely I will recommend this dental office !!

Fantastic experience: My first experience with Garden State Dental was very positive. Liz the hygienist was patient and listened to my concerns. Along with Dr. Mark they answered my questions and walked me through the process. I look forward to continued dental care! This was my 2nd visit for a deep cleaning. It was prefect! Dr.Mark numbed me so that the cleaning was very comfortable. No addtl anesthesia was needed. Liz did an excellent job. Looking forward to completing the cleaning next week! Onward 2 good care! My 3rd visit was just as great as the first two. Dr.Mark & Liz are wonderful. So grateful to have found a good dental team. It’s so important! My first official visit in the new year 2025 for a regular cleaning. Liz said my teeth looked great! The numbers were very good from the probe (yikes!) which showed whatever I was doing to continue doing it. I told her I was back to feeling good coming to the dentist for cleaning and maintenance. Not to be scared and anxious is priceless! Thank you Garden State Dental!

Negative experience: THIS PLACE IS A SCAM I CAME FOR 1 THING .HE SAID IT WOULD TAKE 9 APPOINTMENTS BEFORE I GET WHAT CAME FOR.THEN ON THE WAY OUT THE DOOR THEY TRIED TO CHARGE ME A $80 COPAY THAT I NEVER HAD BE FOR. PLEASE DON'T LET YOU ELDERLY PPL GO HERE AND GET SCAMMED.

Negative experience: I needed a root canal. After having gone three separate times to see a so called doctor, they tell me I need to see a specialist with more experience in the procedure. They took X-rays of my teeth in previous visits. My question is wouldn’t you be able to see and determine if I needed to see a specialist before drilling into my teeth three times. I’ve wasted my time and all they have caused is pain and discomfort. I have been a patient at this office for years. The lady that cleans my teeth is amazing. That’s about the only nice thing I can say at this point. Place looks run down recently. Should’ve trusted my instincts and gone somewhere else.

Negative experience: The facility looked super unkempt and dirty quite honestly. All of the equipment and furniture is old and worn down which does not create a welcoming environment for patients. How can patients be assured that tools are properly sterilized if the office itself looks disgusting? I also had a bad experience getting X-rays done which has never happened before. It was super uncomfortable. Lastly, I’ve never been to a dentist that schedules X-rays/exams and cleanings on separate days. Absolutely ridiculous to have to wait more than three months for a cleaning. Super dissatisfied and will not be recommending. Should be reported to the board of health

Negative experience: They merit ZERO stars. I don't do google reviews...but this is a WARNING review. I didn't even see the doctor and therefore cannot judge him at all. In fact, I didn't even complete my paperwork to be seen. The place looked so alarmingly disgusting and unclean, I could not risk sitting in this nasty facility. Nothing, absolutely nothing, looked cleaned and sterile. The practice is on a corner block in the heart of gritty Newark and it seems because of that, the professionals who operate this facility have no cares to make improvements or to have a practice that actually looks clean, sterile, and updated with good and current equipment. The dental equipment looked yellowed and dated as though it was stuck in the 90s. This joint was dusty and gross. The pleather lobby chairs were all peeled. The blinds were bent and broken. Don't come here. Even if these dentists are any good, they should have more pride that to have a dental practice look this dirty and outdated.

Negative experience: Wish I could give this place a 0 , went there to start the process of getting my wisdom teeth removed. After explaining everything to the dentist he said that he was going to refer me to a specialist that they didn’t do those things there. So tell me WHY the front desk ladies told me that I needed to make an appointment first in order to get my wisdom teeth removed. Had to pay 100 dollars just to be told that they could not do that there. Of course I complain with the ladies and they told me that “they don’t recall me saying wisdom teeth “. Why would I ask for something else that I Don’t need ,bffr. They were just not paying attention, I felt robbed. SO ,DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DON’T GO TO THIS PLACE or at least wait until they change their front desk staff

He offered many options to fit my budget. Demonstrated great capacity as a dental specialist checking my record and making sure on any medical condition that could affect my actual problem. The front ladies made very easy to make an appointment and per arrival made the paperwork process very easy. Definitely, my new dental office! Fantastic experience: Everyone I have been seen by here is absolutely amazing From the front desk all the way to the back. I was there yesterday 4/22/25 @ 1pm and Life is really really difficult for me the last 2 years and yesterday was one of thee worst. I was in tears and my brain is almost to the brink of shut down I tried to get my composure together but could not HOWEVER, everyone I encountered was sympathetic, empathetic and supportive. They HONESTLY soothed my anxiety and my heart and i could NEVER thank them enough. They have no idea how much their genuine expressions of support means to me. Fantastic experience: Garden State Dental is very professional when you come there for your appointment. You don’t have to wait a long . Period of time you sign in , 3 to 5 minutes later they’re calling you to the back. The dentist is very patient. He explains everything that he’s doing as he go along. I feel very comfortable there. I recommend Garden State Dental to anyone who is in need of a dentist and if they’re looking for a new dentist I hadn’t smiled in years because of my teeth and the dentist gave me a whole new reason to smile. I am so grateful for all the staff the Dentist at Garden state group into they have excellent service very courteous . Negative experience: The doctors are great the front office staff are horrible and negligent. Edit: Once again this office is just terrible. thye make no attemt at contacing you to work something out and instead is quick to send you things over to someone else so it can be out of their hands. and when asked why they didn't do their job they claim they did but neither my phone number or email has changed since the 9th grade. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone even if it was an emergency.

Positive experience: Had a problem with my dentures, to make a long story short, the problem was with the people that were . Making the dentures. that being said the staff and the dentist were great.

Negative experience: Confirmed appointment for 10am, upon arrival at 10am office was locked and no one picked up the phone after multiple calls. Do not recommend. EDIT: After calling them Monday to ask what happened they confirmed their system allows for scheduling appointments for days they're closed and will confirm them via text regardless if it's an available day or not. Be aware of scheduling through online Web services.

Positive experience: Edit: I will say apart from my experience with scheduling described below, my other visits have been good. Front desk has been kind, despite the incident. Had I had not had that experience with my appointment booking, this place would get a 5 stars. That being said, if going for cleaning, make sure they don’t do that to you. —————- I was scheduled for 3pm, and had to wait until 3:45 to be seen on a completely empty office, listening to a (dentist? Office manager?) and front desk talking office drama. When I asked what was going on and how much longer I had to wait “oh just a few more minutes”. No communication to me about wait time unless I asked and no explanations (and that was about 20 more minutes after I asked). When I asked front desk why that happened after the visit, I was told that they intentionally book multiple people at the same timeslot for 1 dental hygienest, and that I was the “side appointment”. I said that was not fair since I booked it for 3pm and was not told I was a “side appointment” (especially when I am not paying any less than the first person…). Front desk replied with “well we are trying to accommodate everyone”. No apologies, as if I was an inconvenience. This could have been easily resolved had I been booked for 3:30 and been clearly communicated about the wait I time I was to experience, but front desk put the blame on the dental hygienist (who did a great job) for “taking too long”. Despite how unprofessionally front desk handled the matter, they were certainly instructed by whoever owns this office to book appointments in way that completely disregards and disrespects the patient’s time. I would not recommend coming here for that reason.

As, I've had bad experiences before, they made me feel comfortable, and safe. I had total trust in their ability to take care of me. I can't remember a time I went into a dental office and didn't almost have a panic attack but this time was different.. Negative experience: The front desk staff are disorganized and unprofessional. The place needs a makeover it is falling apart. There are no functioning curtains in the rooms to prevent the sun from hitting your eyes during the procedure. The X-ray tech is not easy going and dismissive. On the other hand The oral hygienist is professional and gentle and Dr Frye is very thorough and professional. Garden State Dental, please get it together!

Fantastic experience: Now I am 79 years old, but after in Garden States Dental they treated my teeth caris and cavities I eat like my young age, during the procedure I never felt any pains or discomfort, they treated me with compassion and respectful behavior, and explained in details all procedure and options, I felt comfortable and convenient during the treatment, a Zillion and world of gratitude and thanks from you all. Negative experience: Extremely rude and unprofessional staff. During my experience there, they practice racial discrimination and refused treatment for my daughter. Staff members by the names of Rayani and Orbe were rude. They would not give their last names or give information regarding the person in charge. I am in thr process of filing a legal claim against this office.
