Negative experience: I’m not one to complain or write reviews but Smyrna Modern Dentistry has to be the worst dentist I’ve ever been to. Went in for a cleaning and a prep for a root canal (which I do need) but when sealing the temp crown, the dentist placed it then walked away and the hygienist finished from there. The filling was all over my gum and on other teeth which it shouldn’t have been but the hygienist barely checked it and the dentist never came back in to check her work. The appt was rushed and they seemed like they didn’t care, only cared about the money. Since the appt I have been in severe pain/couldn’t eat/my jaw wouldn’t close properly d/t them not shaping or making sure the crown was on right. I’ve lost weight bc I can’t eat. It hurt so bad I was taking pain meds constantly. A week after I went to another dentist who then replaced and cleaned it up and it hasn’t hurt since and did many things the other dentist didn’t. They won’t refund me my money and are still saying I owe more for the crappy work they did. On top of it all they are unprofessional raising their voice at a patient and trying to cover themselves, not listening or pretending they care. I work in healthcare and I know how to treat my patients with respect and this place definitely doesn’t. I should have read the reviews before I went and dropped 800$ on work and still have to go elsewhere to get the root canal. The dentist name is Megan Jones, for those who would like to avoid.

Fantastic experience: I can’t recommend this place enough. I had to get a crown, filling, and cleaning all in one day and the staff was extremely nice and attentive. I had issues with my crown and had to come back in a couple times afterwards. I have severe dental anxiety and they reassured me and made me feel heard. They were more than willing to make it right and answer any questions I had.

She takes her time, explains each process and allows the patient time to think and make rational decisions regarding their dental care. Negative experience: I had a very disappointing experience with this dental office. I had came there with my mother because she was in serious pain. The staff was unprofessional, communication was poor, and I was given information that turned out to be untrue. Instead of being honest and transparent, I felt misled about my mothers treatment and billing. A dental office should make patients feel respected and informed, but unfortunately that was not my experience nor my mothers here. I would not recommend this office to anyone looking for trustworthy care.

Negative experience: I think it’s crazy that my fren is being treated as if she has done something wrong when she went in for a dental emergency. she was hurting really bad and they lied to her three times abt excepting her insurance. Then three days later they called her acting like they were checking on her Said they were not gona charge her. She replied that they then proceeded to tell her to delete her review. How unprofessional is that?

Negative experience: Update on monday May 11th they called and acted like they was checking on me and to see if I got the dental work done or what and I explained that I have a dentist appointment today with someone that takes my insurance and then she proceeds to say they will not be charging me and that they want me to take my review down because it was to harsh. And then when i tried to explain that what i wrote here is my experience and im just trying to let others know what has happened and she can not tell me what my experience was on my end and tell me my review was harsh when as you can see it wasnt. So she wanted to argue a bit and im hurting so like i said the only thing needed to be said was said and she then said again she wanted me to delete my review and i said no so that was it we hung up and i did tell her it was unprofessional to tell someone to remove something bc they dont want to be exposed then. May 8th my Sister called them to see if they took my insurance and they said yes she gave them my info and i had to call up there to give more of my info. So i called for the appointment as new patient asked if they took my insurance before I ever left my house the lady said yes. We got there to check in and we asked again before being seen if they took my insurance and she said yes again and scanned it in. Then they call me back for xrays and all then doc comes in sees me stating they are going to refer me to an oral surgeon and stated they dont take my insurance and then finally stated after all that that they dont take my insurance. So not only did I get lied too once it was at least 3 times but then get told after the treatment that they did do they do not take my insurance so dont believe what comes out they mouth then bc they LIE!!!

Negative experience: DO NOT GO HERE. I had been established at this dentist for a few years and other than extremely long wait times I had no complaints. The staff wasn't overly friendly but they were just fine. Then, at 6 month cleaning I get told I have stage 3b periodontal disease and I will need dentures in the next year if I don't buy this $1200 deep cleaning. The image on the wall of a person with this stage of gum disease has missing teeth, visible decay etc. This is shocking and embarrassing news considering I am 29 with all of my teeth, no cavities, and no bleeding gums. I told them wow this is shocking considering I floss daily, brush 2x daily with an electric toothbrush, water pick, mouthwash, tongue scrape, etc. The hygienist laughed and said "wow you do more than I do". So I asked for further recommendation because the $1200 cleaning every THREE MONTHS for the rest of my life wasn't going to work out for me for obvious reasons. She said I was pretty much screwed and that was the only option. I continued to ask questions about how this could have happened and what I could do at home to help and they just told me sometimes people just get gum disease. They even made me pay for "genetic testing" that they never once followed up with me for until I called the office but I HAD to have it done? Lo and behold I do the cleaning (fear mongering me into getting it done) and it takes about 20 minutes (they said up to an hour for bad cases which is apparently me considering I was told I needed dentures immediately). I go to follow up and they say I need another one??? Absolutely not, my gums dont even bleed. The nail in the coffin for me was when I went for the very last time for a routine cleaning as I declined the buy ups they wanted to add after the fear mongering. I sat in the waiting room for 50 minutes. 50 past my appointment time! Mind you when I left they closed 5 minutes later? So was I just going to be asked to leave anyways because they were closed and hadn't even started? During that time no one else was in the waiting room and no one else came and went so they couldn't have been that busy. No one once checked on me and apologized or updated me on the delay. I finally went up to the front desk and told them I would be leaving considering I had been sitting here almost an hour and they just stared at me blankly. They never called to reschedule my appointment or apologize. It's like I was never there and it never even happened. What a waste of my time. I have waited 6 months to write this review because I waited and bought different dental insurance and just established at another place. Here they were so kind, went through every single xray, picture, and exam of my teeth in detail and answered all of my questions. Shocking because here they say I have no evidence of gum disease AT ALL! And I would only require basic cleanings every 6 months and my "teeth would be in it for the long haul and I should not need dentures" He said my teeth and gums look really good! I became tearful at this new dentist because of how stressed I was by what the other place told me and they were appalled that I ever even got the deep $1200 cleaning because he saw no evidence of why I would need it let alone I was told I had advanced perio disease. In the end, this place has horrible time management and will continuously try and uncharge you for something every time and scare you into thinking if you don't pay them immediately there will be severe life altering consequences. Go ahead and google the umbrella company, Smile Generation, and you will understand why this place has such bad reviews.

Negative experience: Check in is not timely and not convenient for technical challenged or elderly patients! The staff seems to be rushed and lack compassion for patients who may be having first time dental work or have a fear of the dentist. Prerequisites of what to expect may be helpful instead of just poking and jabbing without knowledge of what’s happening! Anytime I come here I end up spending hours here everything takes so long even with a full staff! Nice office setting but needs more organization to efficiently and seamlessly handle patient load! Also even though the office is fully staffed you have to wait on one “dentist” to do all advanced procedures like a root canal so the time frame from diagnosis to treatment is ridiculous honestly.

Negative experience: I had a 9:30 am appointment. I sat for 30 minutes now help. There several white women who came in 10 or more minutes after me, and were seen before me. I'm black by the way. I don't have to take this 2nd hand treatment. I'll find me a black dentist.

Positive experience: The dentist and the hygienist are literally the best.. sooo why three stars the front desk people are the worst and their manager Jamie can’t seem to figure out how to file claims with insurance.. its been almost 7 months and my account still can’t be updated.

Negative experience: They are overpriced and want you to purchase the most expensive plan instead of finding a reasonable one. The Dr told me I could call back and ask for an antibiotic if my tooth was bothering me in the process of trying to find an affordable dental plan to extrate my tooth. Now that I call back, the Dr is saying a whole nother thing. When I came, it took an hour just for the assistant to take X-ray pictures and she kept having to retake them. Would not recommend this place at all and in the process of going to Dr.Worthy or Matthew Walker!!!!

Fantastic experience: I've had two major procedures done in the last couple of months—a double bridge and wisdom tooth surgery (all four at once)—and I felt very comfortable at the facility despite it being a dentist's office. The entire team is amazing. The kindness and professionalism of the staff at the front desk was wonderful; everyone was more than accommodating when I was worried and were always willing to check about post-op to address any concerns. I especially want to commend Dr. Green and the dental assistant, Tia, who I worked with the most. They helped me get new, perfectly color-matched bridges and got rid of some stubborn baby teeth. Thank you to Dr. Carter as well for a seamless wisdom tooth extraction. I'm so thankful to them for a job well done and glad that I could find a facility that takes such good care of their patients. I highly recommend this office!

Fantastic experience: Came in expecting medieval torture, left with a crown fit for royalty and zero pain. The team somehow made a root canal... enjoyable? They’re pros, they’re friendly, and they’re funny—which is more than I can say for most places with drills.

Negative experience: My wife went there for simple teeth cleaning and was offered services that she didn't need.and was told that she had gum disease..which was not true.They also if if the work wasn't done. She would die

Negative experience: I have mixed reviews here I needed to get a couple implants and they did a great job. However around this time they also began telling me I was getting gingivitis and then advanced periodontitis. I really didn’t think this was an issue as I’ve never been told it. But they said I also had a lot of bone density I had lost. As a result they were saying they could only do cleanings that would cost $900+ dollars as a result that the insurance barely covered. I’ve since moved and gone to a good family dentist who says that I have good healthy teeth. I do not have bone density loss and I have no signs of gingivitis or periodontist disease. I was given a totally normal cleaning and did not require anything extra. The issues the dentists were telling me I had are not irreversible and it’s a shame that they probably get a lot of money claiming things that I’ve since been told just wasn’t true.

Negative experience: Staff was pleasant, I won’t be visiting this dentist again I realized they’ll suggest services you don’t need I was told I needed a double root canal I only had one done for the cap to fall off three months later I couldn’t get in for another appointment, they also told me I had periodontal disease and had been receiving periodontal cleaning. I visited another dentist is when I found out I didn’t need a root canal on my opposite tooth (I doubt I need it for the tooth that had the repair) I don’t have periodontal disease this place will offer you services you don’t need

Negative experience: I spent $10K on my teeth just to receive a mouth full of bad dental work and more issues than I had before going to see Dr Jones at Smyrna Modern Denistry. I had crowns fall off in public more than once. Then I had one come off and break my tooth off while eating a sandwich out with family. They then put a bridge in to fix the shoddy work. The bridge was not made correctly. One tooth is pertruding and one tooth has a curvy dip on the surface making it much thinner than the other crowns and the tooth also has a brown spot at the top of it. When I went to the office to see Dr Jones about this she dismissed all of my concerns and refused to fix the issue. I'll be paying for this dental work for 3 more years and now I need more work to fix what Dr Jones and her office screwed up. Avoid this place and Dr Jones at all costs. You will pay thousands for dental work that is sub par at best and the work will not last long before falling apart.

Fantastic experience: I had a nice visit today. Very nice staff l enjoyed meeting Leo. He's a good dental assistant.

Fantastic experience: Dr Eva and her associates, Sydney and Alex, were great to work with. I had to have a double root canal in April and was not just a little nervous about the whole thing. It was relatively painless, though, and Eva's demeanor was pleasant throughout. She took the time to explain what she was doing each step of the way to both me and her assistants so everyone was in the loop. Sure, I'd never want to have another root canal if I could help it, but if I did, I'd ask for Dr. Eva.

Fantastic experience: This is a nice clinic. I came in to get a crown and got it done with in the same day! Gabi was an assistant that made me feel comfortable as I waited.

Fantastic experience: Staff made me feel comfortable and less anxious about coming in to see the dentist. Doctors were understanding, and assistants were kind. Gabi was the one that walked me through my appointment and was always checking in to make sure I was okay!

Negative experience: Overbilling, fraudulent billing (billing for service not performed), up-selling for service not needed (deep cleaning yet second opinion was quite different) and long waits (with appointment). I have moved on, to say the least.

Fantastic experience: The staff is really kind and do a great job at educating you on dental hygiene tips. Leo, especially, is very meticulous in making sure my crown was made properly.

Negative experience: Hah after being completely lied to about how these people would help me with a payment plan to get my wisdom teeth out, they've disregarded all my payments to the bill and sent my bill to COLLECTIONS. The $300 I've sent so far has went down the hole because FOR WHAT?!?!?!?! YOU SENT IT TO COLLECTIONS FOR WHAT?!?!?!?! I WAS PAYING MY BILL

Negative experience: This was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a dentist. Actually - so awful I have nightmares it will happen again. Not only did they over charge me for “replacing a crown” (over 2000 WITH insurance) which I never actually needed, but it fell off after a single night. When I returned the next day to get it replaced, one practitioner told me I was over-reacting when she drilled down too far on my tooth, causing it to break. She just put the crown on anyway. This was all verified by an endodontist in Los Angeles who couldn’t believe this had happened to me. Terrible energy, terrible work, not worth your money. Please don’t go here - it’s not worth it!! Honestly, I wish I could give it no stars. I cannot stress this enough.

Fantastic experience: A wonderful place to go for dental work. Received a much overdue cleaning. Staff was friendly and professional and didn't make me feel guilty for not coming in sooner(as other offices do). Pain free cleaning, informative employees and a knowledgeable dentist made for a great experience! Would definitely go back!

Everyone I had interactions with had a smile on their face and were super pleasant, couldn’t be happier with my dental visits. Jamie,Azaria, Molly, Chelsea, Israa, Dr jones, and Dr Blaylovk have all been amazing, will be back!

Negative experience: The one star isn’t worth it. Unprofessional and Money-Driven Experience I had a terrible experience at Smyrna Modern Dentistry. My husband needed dental clearance for an urgent cardiac surgery, and the dentist insisted he get an expensive deep cleaning before providing the necessary clearance. We later discovered this procedure wasn’t required at all for his surgery. The dentist seemed more focused on making money than addressing the actual medical urgency of the situation. This added unnecessary stress during an already difficult time for our family. I would not recommend this office to anyone looking for ethical or patient-centered care.

Positive experience: The service and cleaning were fine, but overshadowed with the long wait. My cleaning started over an hour past my appointment. They really need to do a better job on appointment scheduling!

Fantastic experience: Chelsey is so sweet and lovely. She is understanding absolute my anxiety and ptsd surrounding dental appointments. Best hygienist i have had.

Fantastic experience: Chelsey was my hygienist she was very informative and gentle. I didn’t even feel her numb me. Dr. Jones did my crowns and made sure i was comfortable and relaxed during treatment. Everything was completed the same day. I was able to get in and out with ease. 5/5!!!!!

Negative experience: Fraudulent billing practices. Charged $1345 to my insurance with out my approval. No dental treatment provided. Used up a big chunk of my 2k dental allowance without providing any dental care. Not a single invoice issued to me to back up their their fraudulent billing. Beware of this dental clinic billing practices. I was seen by Dr. Chaname on 8/22/24 for dental evaluation in order to get a clearance for my upcoming knee surgery. I rejected their treatment plan to pull my 4 healthy teeth out as a condition to get the clearance. The clinic went ahead and billed my insurance $1345 without my approval, using up a chunk of my $2000 dental allowance. No invoice or receipts provided to me. I'm disputing the billing with my insurance.

Fantastic experience: Smyrna Modern Dentistry is amazing. They tried to make sure the experience of getting a root canal was not terrible. While I do not recommend a root canal, I do recommend Smyrna Modern Dentistry if you have to have one. Getting the temp put on was not a great experience, but they went out of their way to get the crown instead. The staff is friendly from reception to procedure, and I am glad I chose them from the other options I researched.

Fantastic experience: Good quality care with very professional staff. Courteous and efficient. Had the best cleaning done for myself and my daughter (7). She was understandably little apprehensive but they took care a of her very well.
