He was confident and removed all my fears. It took him a minute to get the tooth out. He got it out and I felt no pain. Thank you

Fantastic experience: First time going to this dental office and honestly, it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had when it comes to dental care! It was incredibly easy setting up the appointment which is always something I can appreciate. Once I got to the office for my appointment, I was taken back to a room almost immediately, barely any wait time! My dental hygienist was very friendly, quite funny, and made the whole experience very enjoyable, meaningful, and honestly memorable; fun stories were shared, lots of giggles (even with my mouth gaping open while work was being done lmao), and at times I almost forgot I was even getting my teeth cleaned because it started to feel like a hangout session with a friend. When the dentist came in at the end to check my teeth out, that was real cool too—he was kind, pretty funny as well, and just had a great vibe! Everything felt very genuine from the moment I walked in and that kind of care is the best kind of care. I highly recommend this office—these dentists and hygienists really do the damn thang, and they do it well!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Shaw was very knowledgeable about how to care for our teeth. He knew what he was doing. I'd highly recommend this place. I'd also like to give a kudos to his receptionist. My work ethic is so hard NOBODY knows how to turn it off. So even when I am an hour early for my appointment she let's me hang out and wait until appointment time. And I truly respect that.

I called a few places and Dental Associates was able to get me in the next day. Highly recommend. My new dental provider. As soon as I decide to schedule. Honestly, it's a great dental practice.

Had another thorough cleaning with the dental tech, Sandy today. Hannah, at the front desk, is always very sweet and friendly and recognizes my husband and myself when we come in.. We like our dentist!! 12/23/24.. Another visit with Dr Shaw as he took impressions for my crown to be placed on my new implant.. As usual, he explains everything thoroughly. Good visit! 1/21/25 Today, Dr Shaw fitted my new crown onto my implant.. It all went very well..I like how he always shows me what he's doing and explains everything in detail. I really appreciate having such good dental care so close to my home too! 4/12/25 A visit last month was a little unusual but shows what a caring dentist Dr Shaw is. On a Thursday evening my husband had a crown come off his tooth and as his office is closed on Fridays and we were leaving town the following Monday, we didn’t know what to do. But on Friday we called the office and left a message. Dr Shaw called us back and arranged to meet us at the office and cement the crown back on. We were so pleased with this outcome! 9/18/25 Gene and I both had a regular 6mo cleaning today.. As always, both of our experiences were good. Dr. Shaw always come in to do a final check and greet us. 10/29/25 This is the best dental practice!!! I have a knee replacement scheduled on Monday and for a toothache last night.. With no appt at up, I walked into the office and told them my problem and they made an effort to take care of me right away!!! Got me in for a couple of exrays and checkup.. Dr Shaw came in and explained it to me, that I would be okay to proceed with my surgery. They relieved my anxiety entirely.. Thank you, Sandy and Dr Shaw,!!!!!

Fantastic experience: First time at this office. The hygienist was kind and patient. The dentist explained all of my options and explained what options he would recommend for me. I did come with my husband and son. They saw our son first and idk if it just got overlooked, but I had to call the office later to get an update on my son’s visit. Other than that, I would recommend this dentist.

Negative experience: If i could i would give 0 stars… theres only one doctor and he takes all day to call you out, went there to get a partial which ended up being horrible and gave me blisters everywhere, went back to him and the nurse smirked at me when i told her that it hurts and said that its my fault for picking them out… like im not the one who made them partials. Anyway do not recommend this place des moines a pretty big city just go to any if the other 500 dental clinics there are in des moines.

Fantastic experience: Sandy does a great job cleaning my teeth. She is always very upbeat and pleasant. I'm not real fond of going to the dentist, but she always makes we comfortable. Dr Shaw has been my dentist for several years and he also make me comfortable and very knowledgeable.

Fantastic experience: I was very pleased seeing the technology that is new to me. The teeth cleaning was not as bad as I thought it might be, being a senior I had the water pic and that was new for me and a more pleasant experience. I wished the tec had introduced herself, I asked when I left what her name is. Getting a rapor going with new people is desirable and makes me feel more comfortable continuing to go there. Round 2 getting a filling was equally an ok experience. Ok is high praise

They were able to get me in quickly for my initial consultation. Convenient location. The office was clean. The staff & Dr Shaw are always so helpful & understanding. They have been able to get me in quickly when needed . Dr Shaw is good at listening, then giving me my options & helping me weigh out the pros & cons to each option. They are changing the way I feel about going to the dentist. It no longer scares me. If I could give them more stars I would.

Much work to be done, will update review. 2-17-25 Had some more work done. Dr Shaw is so kind and informative, explains everything fully and makes sure you feel comfortable with procedures. Extraction didn’t hurt at all. Highly recommended. 3-16-25 Once again, everyone here is great! Dr. Shaw, Sandy, Kelly, Hannah, ALL make sure you are comfortable and do excellent work. 5-21-25 Fantastic workers here, make sure everything is done right. Thanks Shelby for making sure I was comfortable and informed. This will be my Dentist for life. 6-19-25 Got a cleaning from Kelli, very good! Getting a partial, Shelby & Dr. Shaw are awesome as always, taking extra time to make sure everything is made correctly. 7-31-25 Got my partial, everything is great! Dr.Shaw spent the time to make sure everything fit well.

Negative experience: This place is a $ grab. They say they are dentist.My wife had a bad tooth and they referred her to a dental surgeon. It took 10min for them to pull the tooth. I guess there great for ppl with great dental insurance. We are ppl with horrible insurance. She had another tooth that was bad and they wouldn't pull it bec dental Associates only referred for one tooth. This place and the there so called dentists are only in it for the money,not to help. I myself went to get a tooth fixed and I walk out with a $1000.00 bill for all there x-rays they say "let's make this your dental home" it's a $ grab. They said the same to my wife. beware of there con artist ways

Fantastic experience: I enjoy my conversation with Kelly my dental hygiene assistant. She has a great attitude and sense of humor. She did a great job with my cleaning. It was nice to meet Dr. Shaw. He's easy to talk to and did a great job of explaining a plan for getting my teeth and gums healthy. He has a great personality and I enjoyed all the employees I came in contact with. They all made a very good first impression. Thank you and I'll see you soon I also really like the very nice water bottle I received at my visit. My second visit went very well. Jesse, the dental assistant is very nice and I enjoyed meeting her. Dr. Shaw did a great job with my dental work. I received a phone call the next day from Dr. Shaw to see if I was doing well. That a first for me from a denist, a very nice touch. Hannah, whom works in the front office, is pleasant and has a nice smile, she remembered from my previous visit that I went shopping and asked if I was going again. I thought that was very nice. My third visit, Hannah, whom works the front office, was very helpful with working on my insurance and accommodating the change in my dental plan. I learned today there is two Hannah's, the second was my dental hygiene assistant and I believe she also works the front office. There was a student, I believe her name is Romon, I think that's the correct spelling. She was very nice. Dr. Shaw, does a very good job at making it as painless as possible. He's one of the best I've experienced at giving a local anesthetic. He had some challenges today, but we worked through it. Thank you all. I appreciate your hard work and accommodating the challenges this week and working with me. 5/29/2025 I enjoyed my experience today. It was good to see Hannah at the front desk and a new associate Kali. They are very kind and easy to talk to. Shelby was my dental assistant, I enjoyed our conversation about baseball and talking about her son and husband. Dr. Shaw did a great job at repairing my front teeth and my chipped tooth, I think it's the incisor or eye tooth next to your front tooth. My smile looks so much better. My front teeth were uneven and they are now nice and straight. Thank you so much, you all did a great job and I'm more confident with my new and improved smile. We have a little more work to do, but we are getting there.

Fantastic experience: Kelly and Dr Shaw not only took care of my teeth cleaning. They were genuinely concerned about my general well being. I have terminal cancer and they have went above and beyond to ensure I have the best quality health care. Thank you all so very much for your support it means more to me than you know.

Fantastic experience: Everyone was patient with me. They took real good care of me! Planning to go back after my surgery. Hannah was awesome with cleaning one side of my mouth. Normally I use nitrous and then they get me with shots. Hannah doesn't use nitrous but she can use a numbing gel which she did. It helped because my teeth are sensitive. She did a great job cleaning because other places didn't do cleaning like this. I am happy. Hannah has been very helpful in my dental care and sharing things to take better care of my teeth.
