Fantastic experience: Very professional service. Dr. Sharara is very kind ,profession al and fast . The dental hygienist Sandy is terrific too. They recommended that i get a mouthguard . They directed me to the Minnesota Head and Neck Pain Clinic where it was fitted . It sure beats a CPAP machine.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Mounds View Family Dental for years and they’ve always been excellent. I love the new building and believe everyone at MV Family Dental truly cares for your dental health. Over the years, I’ve had all my check ups, exams, deep cleaning, cavities filled, crowns made, and even a mouth guard fitted with their team. They’re always willing to work with me and my busy travel schedule and the hygienists (Holly and Sahar) always remember to check in with me, both health wise and dental wise. I’ve had a mouth guard fitted at Dr. Sharara’s recommendation at the office and I can tell it really made a difference. My teeth grinding has stopped damaging my teeth and I’ve even noticed I get much less headaches since I’ve started wearing it at night. Dr. Sharara checks on his patients every cleaning and keeps an eye on things for me, both dental and health wise. He’s the one that recommended I see my PCP for something I had no idea I had issues with, until he noticed at a dental visit. Good dentists really look out for your health! He has even referred me to a great endodontist when I had some tooth pain back in the day. His office also followed up by requesting the records to continue the rest of my dental care with Mounds View at that time. The office also sells fluoride toothpaste, which is so much nicer than having to pick it up at my local pharmacy. Billing is upfront about costs, the front desk is great with communicating through text, and the hygienists go above and beyond to make sure their patients are comfortable and understand what’s happening. Can’t recommend them enough!!

Negative experience: Where to start; I had come in for severe pain in my wisdom teeth. Recommended for extraction cool not a problem. I came in the morning of for the procedure. They charged me $720 upfront for the extraction of all 4 wisdom teeth. At the time I didn’t think anything of it cool not a problem. Then, I got the receipt from my dental insurance. Showing that I was only supposed to pay $270 for the procedure. I called Mounds View family dental back and informed them of this and the response was “oh yeah, the laser treatment the dentist did isn’t covered by your insurance so it’s another $450 out of pocket” 1. This was never brought up to me prior than when he pulled out the laser at the end of the extraction. If this was the case I would’ve advocated for sutures instead. 2. They didn’t even submit the laser treatment to the insurance and just straight up told me it “wasn’t covered” Come to find out, this was a lie. My insurance absolutely does cover the laser procedure. They failed to submit it and attempted to overcharge me for the services I received by about $450 total. I then called multiple times yesterday where I spoke with Cody the billing manager. Who straight up lied to me about everything multiple times regarding the procedure and the billing. After getting an insurance rep on the phone to speak with mounds view Cody is nowhere to be found. I asked for her to come to the phone and speak with the insurance rep but was told “she’s in a meeting and will call back” I still have not heard back from Cody and I’m still in the process of trying to get the $450 back of over charges. This place seemed extremely well mannered and ethical at first however that perception took a complete 180. I would not recommend this office to anyone unless you’re looking to get overcharged by 200-300% of what you actually owe. This was not a mistake. They intentionally chose not to submit the procedure to insurance to collect some extra money from me up front. Insurance fraud at its finest.

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient at Mounds View Dental for years! I have always had a good experience even after falling off for about 10 years . I was welcomed back with open arms and compassion. Everyone remembered my name even after so long! Love the new building. The whole team is amazing from the moment you walk in you are welcomed by name. They always walk you through every procedure and all estimates so no surprises! I am someone who naturally suffers from excessive plaque and They educated me on how to properly up keep my teeth cleaning in between appointments. They answered all my silly questions and made me feel very comfortable! Love this place would highly recommend it!

Negative experience: I was a new patient here starting around January 2025. I really liked my hygienist at first but on my most recent trip (May 2025), I stated that I wasn't liking the feeling of having to pay out of pocket for EVERY visit I'd had so far. My hygienist's response really caught me off guard - I don't remember exactly word for word, but what I definitely remember in the response was, "I'm hurt or offended that you feel that way!" I was expecting something along the lines of "Oh, I'm sorry you feel that way. Let's take a look at what's happened the past appointments or whatever" instead of going on the defensive and making ME, the patient, feel uncomfortable! That DEFINITELY made me feel uncomfortable and I will not be returning to this clinic.

Negative experience: I have been going to this dentist for 10 years and I called today to schedule an appointment and I was told that they no longer take my state insurance. Which is really disappointing because I did like them as a family dentist. I overlooked the things I didn't like because having state insurance you are limited on options. Now I can say the front desk staff is rude and judgemental and the dental hygienist suggested one time that I get my teeth bleached which I don't believe is in her scope of work to suggest.

The professionalism, care and convenience I experienced at Mounds View Family Dental has been "top notch". I had a root canal and crown replacement done in one two hour sitting! Exceptional!

Fantastic experience: This dental office became my dental office several years ago when I had a dental emergency. They were able to fit me in right away. I had not followed up on dental care until I discovered these people! I have not had any issues with them, have referred the neighborhood to them and have never been more comfortable with a dental office ever! The new location is beautiful and the new services that are being offered are outstanding! I’ve never had an emergency turn into such a positive experience !!!!!

Negative experience: I'm writing to reiterate my disappointment with my recent experience at their place on May 31 appointment. The dental hygienist was good, but the front desk's service fell short. If I could give a negative review I would definitely do! Specifically: - Unexpected $1,000+ procedure cost not disclosed beforehand - Impolite and inexperienced front desk representative - Unresolved $100 deposit refund - Unfulfilled promise to check insurance coverage for a custom teeth guard - No follow-up email regarding insurance coverage or refund status After scheduling my appointment, the front desk representative assured me that: 1. I would receive a refund check for $100. 2. She would investigate insurance coverage for a custom teeth guard, supposedly superior to those found at Walmart or Target. However, I have yet to receive: 1. The refund check 2. Any update on insurance coverage for the teeth guard 3. A follow-up email regarding either matter This lack of follow-through has eroded my trust. I hope they would address these concerns, review the office's communication policies, and provide better training for the front desk staff. I email them not too long ago, STILL NO ANSWER. What an irresponsible place! So not recommending to go there at all.

Negative experience: The dentist was very knowledgeable. But the dental hygienist was awful. I'm a new mom with a 2 month old and my hygienist spent the whole time shaming me about my teeth. As a new mom, I hardly have time for anything. I don't have time to do 20 new things for my teeth.

Fantastic experience: I first went to Mounds View Family Dental on April 2nd 2024. Now today is May 30th 2024. I have had a PRC, Root Canal, and 4 fillings. MVFD has been very professional and knowledgeable about the entire process. You're in great care if you go here for your dental work. I hadn't been to see a dentist for about 10 years prior to April 2nd. They never shamed me for going so long. Only gave me a professional opinion and a plan to get my oral health in order. Dr. Sharara and his staff are amazing and I highly recommend them.

I was in today for a six month checkup and Holly was fantastic. She was so personable, knowledgeable and thorough in all the dental hygienist procedures she did. Dr. Sharara is awesome as well. As a patient with a severe dental phobia, this is the team you want. They always go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and have all the necessary equipment to aid in that. Been going here for years and just love the environments. I would rate them at 8 star's! Super knowledgeable assistants that will get your teeth game where it needs to be.

Fantastic experience: The exams are uncomfortable thorough. I say that as a major selling point as Doctor Sharara found several cavities that my previous dentist should have found but didn't. Uncomfortable as the X-ray film made me gag, but there is nothing he can do about that. He even went over my teeth with a fiber optic camera and actually showed me some of the decay on my teeth, showing how bad they were. I'll admit I walked out of the dentist office in a bad mood, but that had nothing to do with their level of care, that was just the bad news they gave to me. He told me what I can do to try to slow the decay and prevent further decay until my insurance allows me to get the cavities filled. The receptionist even is going out of her way to get my insurance to approve the fillings even faster.
