I appreciated how he carefully discussed the best options for my implant, allowing me to make an informed decision. During a recent tooth extraction, I was amazed by how painless the entire procedure was. Dr. Fujinaka was incredibly informative, preparing me for every step he took during the surgery. His clarity and care made a significant difference in alleviating any anxiety I might have had. A special mention goes to his outstanding assistant, who went above and beyond to ensure my comfort before the surgery. Her attentiveness and effort to help me relax were greatly appreciated. Fantastic experience: Very nice staff in this office. Dr. Fujinaka did a very thorough exam on my gums and explained in detail what was going on. He informed of the treatment plan and how he would proceed. In addition, details of what could possible happen and not happen. Overall, I was very impressed with his knowledge and professional manner. He allowed me time to ask questions with a good explanation. I had my procedure done (infected tooth) and returned 5 months later for the dental hygienist who told me how much my tooth had improved and I was so happy. He saved my tooth!

Fantastic experience: The staff are friendly and helpful. The environment is clean and beautiful. My hygienist, Karen, is the best I have ever had. She is supportive and positive and does a thorough job. And, Dr. Glen Fuginaka is warm, direct and respectful. Going to a dental appointment, or for a teeth cleaning, at Dr. Fuginaka's office is as pleasant an experience as possible.

Fantastic experience: Karen Fong performed my teeth cleaning superbly. The latest in dental technology was utilized. I will return February, 2024. I returned March 26 and my teeth cleaned again by Karen. Very nicely done. Another cleaning done by Karen on April 15, 2025, the usual fine procedure. She also gave me a referral for Dr. Reian Sabo in Piedmont. Dropped by last Friday and found out his office is open Mondays through Thursdays only.

Fantastic experience: I feel like finally I've found a reliable and professional periodontist, whose opinion is thorough and trustworty. It was a two month wait to get an appointment, but it was worth founding out the work that's really needed to build a foundation for my cosmetic work.

I travel 2.5 to 3 hours for my appointments. I cannot envision anyone else seeing after my dental care. Oh yes, my hygienist is the Best!

Fantastic experience: edited 5/23/25: I came in for a possible bone graft to my front tooth area. Dr. T thought it might be a bone chip from the root of the tooth that had become infected and was in a deep pocket that no amount of flossing on my part could reach. The surgery took less time than I expected with no residual bleeding (I did stop my apixaban for 2 days prior to oral surgery). I will be going in for my post op in 2 weeks, so except for the soft food diet and the cold packs and cold liquid diet yesterday, it's been better than expected. Dr. T explained the process and what was going to happen, and it was a bone spur that was causing the problems. Except for slight swelling around my upper lip and right nostril area and some slight pain when I accidentally press down on the tooth or move my lip in a certain was, it has been much better than I thought it would be. So far so good. Previous review: Dr. Glenn Fujinaka has been my periodontist off and on for decades (I was out of state for about 8 years) and during that time, he and all of his office staff have been caring, informative about my teeth and gums, possible solutions to address those issues and doing the surgical procedures necessary. Ali and the administrative staff are always willing to help and answer any questions about billing and my dental hygienist, Karen, is wonderful. I highly recommend and trust all of those in Dr. Fujinaka's office. Dr. Fujinaka even called me personally after a recent procedure to make sure I was doing alright. Very above and beyond but very typical of his practice.

Fantastic experience: 1 / 1 It was my good fortune that Dr. Trevor Fujinaka agreed to see me recently (on the recommendation of my dentist in VT) while I was on a temporary assignment in CA. In the course of three visits this spring, he and his team attended to my every need in a highly professional and exemplary manner. After conducting a thorough evaluation, Dr. Fujinaka diagnosed my problem and outlined what needed to be done and why. On the next visit, my 90-minute surgery took place. In a very reassuring manner Dr. Fujinaka explained what he was doing while he was doing it, always inquiring about my level of (dis)comfort with the procedure. After the surgery, he followed up with a Saturday evening(!) phone call to make sure I was OK. My third appointment simply confirmed what I already knew, namely that if you are looking for a first-rate periodontist who knows his stuff look no further: Dr. Fujinaki is your guy.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Trevor Fujinaka did a root planning and scalling for me recently and did a great job. He is very gentle when numbing and very good at letting you know what he is doing. At one point, my anxiety started to build and felt on the verge of a panic attack (not the fault of the dental team. I'm just prone to panic attacks) and I tapped his arm and he immediately backed off and gave me time to compose myself and get back at it, which I really appreciated. The team is great and gentle, office staff is kind. If you need a periodontist in the Bay, go to Dr. Fujinaka.

Fantastic experience: I cant believe her name escapes me, but i believe it Melissa. I came in for an assessment about an C a month ago. We spent almost hour with the doctor while he assessed my teeth and gums, abd other issues i was facing. The place of business was so, so clean. Down right beautiful. The room i was in faced a Japanese garden that instantly put at ease. I would come back just for that, and the inflatable chair cushion. I had never seen anything like that before. These guys are a class act. Ny the end if the assessment, Dr Fujinaka had a plan for me and it was a big one. He went through each phase of the plan and explained each in detail. He also answered any questions i had. Again, another great experience. Let’s go back to Melissa. It felt like a spa as she walked me to the work room. Everything is so pristine and i really liked that the were Warrior fans and showed it on the walls in their office. Anyways, i don’t mean to ramble, but i wish i could go there to have my regular cleanings ( shhhh, don't tell my dentist, she is great too). Melissa’s demeanor was calm, positive, and patient. She explained the plan with me for the day’s session. Part if that plan was to administer a numbing agent to the lower half of my mouth, yikes! She was excellent, if i had to guess she had done this a million times. She provided some guidance and took the needle to the back of my mouth. I didn't feel a thing, i mean nothing even with anticipation. I would even say it was a pleasant experience. Once i was nimb, she went to town, and gave my lower gums a DEEP cleaning, and it was amazing. She was quick and professional. I really appreciate Fujinaka’s office and am impressed by the staff and what they are capable of doing. The Fujinakas run a Peridontist office which is a specialty of kinds and their office reflects that. Their professionalism is outstanding right at first contact. A++ all the way. If you need a Peridontist to work with, look no further, because this is your place.

Prices look correct. 2 bones graph went pretty well. I like the oral surgery. No more sedation is needed. It is like when you see your dentist. No painful. Just ibuprofen for a few days and swollen down. Good experience. Will redo it if needed. Dr Trevor Works very well. Excellent bone graph and implants soon. The doctor explained to me everything and the good news is that it is with local anesthesia like at the dentist office. Got 2 implants today and the doctor was impressive. No pain at all during the procedure. Always a pleasure to go there. Will go back without hesitation to get another implant. Dr Trevor is all the time impressive. Tooth removed and bone graft without pain again. The best level of care that you can have. Always a pleasure to go. Like when I go to the dentist. The same. No scared at all.

Fantastic experience: The services were really fantastic. I had a great deal of anxiety about getting my first gum graft, but the entire process went really smoothly and I experienced far less discomfort than I expected to. The procedure itself was painless (even though I am notoriously hard to numb up with anesthetic!).The healing period was fast and the post-surgical discomfort was easily managed by ibuprofen and Tylenol. The graft healed really well, with no issues whatsoever . All the staff at the office were highly skilled, friendly, and professional. I will need another graft later this year and am far less worried after having such a smooth process with the first one. I highly recommend the services!!

Fantastic experience: Best periodontist in the entire Bay Area easily. I’ve been unfortunately cursed with not the greatest gum genes and have had my fair share of periodontal procedures - nothing has gone smoother than my gum graft with Trevor. We have a lot more work to do over the coming couple years but I’m confident it will be as “painless” as it can be with this type of work due to his precision and care.

Fantastic experience: Of course I was nervous about seeing a specialist. The practice was super friendly. And the doctor took his time and gave me a thorough examination. We came up with a good plan to solve my problem. The procedure was a graft to add gum tissue over an exposed root. It wasn’t fun but from start to finish I felt cared for, respected and safe. The procedure was a great success.

Fantastic experience: I took my mom to Dr. Fujinaka. My mom is in a wheelchair and it is usually really challenging for us when we go places to get around. The office was so amazing and even had a handicap lift, with wide doors and exam rooms. The staff was all so sweet and helpful and caring. It was an amazing experience. Usually when I am in public with my mom it is really hard to get her around. I was really happy and pleased with how helpful and kind everyone in the office was. It is so nice to feel like you are in a place that is thoughtful and supportive of the disabled community. I cannot recommend this office enough. I wish my mom could come back for her regular cleanings. It was overall a wonderful experience.

Positive experience: I've visited Dr. Fujinaka twice now, first for the consult and then for my gum grafting procedure. I have appreciated his patient, thorough explanations-- both for what to expect and then during the actual procedure. I feel confident in his ability to provide excellent care. His staff is very friendly, kind, and competent. My one issue is the payment plan. Because I have to pay a considerable amount out of pocket, I was hoping for at least a 6 month option, which is not the case. The staff has been helpful in working out my situation; so I appreciate that. I also like the aesthetics of the office- very clean, with comfortable exam/procedure chairs and a nice view of the garden. Very calming.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely the best experience I've ever had re dental health. I had a graft and was absolutely embraced with (may I say) "tender" supportive care and encouragement through-out. The support afterwards is real. We are passing through a stage in our culture/society where I experience fear engaging any institution, health care in particular. It's an anxiety that wall street profiteering has overtaken our humanity. I know this sounds "out there"..to me however, it matters that Dr. Fuginaka and staff are harbingers of hope and decency in a world so whacked out of shape.

Fantastic experience: Spectacular experience with latest phase of implant of titanium post for removed tooth. Dr Fujinaka explained what he was about to do, then skillfully used modern technology to embed the post in my lower jaw. Cautious and effective use of anesthesia made this painless. Now recuperating successfully at home.

Fantastic experience: Due to gum problems I had to replace 2 teeth with implants. So far I'm very happy with Dr. Fujinaka's treatment. He removed 2 teeth without any trouble. He made it as comfortable as possible and he explained very well what he is doing and why. Can't be better.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Fujinaka is very experienced. He runs a beautiful, well designed office, staffed by friendly, caring assistants. I love the fresh flowers in the waiting room and the excellent communication and follow up from his schedulers. You can't do any better. Parking was easy.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Dr Fujinaka. Very thorough. Took the time to explain what was going on and could show me on a big screen. For my fellow Covid-cautious people, this office put me at ease. The employees all wear N95's and there were large air filters in the exam room and I think in the waiting room too. There's a sign on the front door encouraging masks. The office is immaculate.

The procedure was remarkably painless. His staff is also friendly, efficient & competent. His office is very beautiful & welcoming. It looks out on an exquisite Japanese garden. The interior is tastefully decorated and full of Warriors memorabilia. Overall, it was a surprisingly almost enjoyable experience!

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Dr. Trevor Fujinaka. I had to have oral surgery for receding gums, and was dreading it. Dr. TF made the experience completely painless, including the initial numbing shots using a simple technique I had never had before. I opted to use lab tissue rather than having tissue removed from my palate to rebuild my gums, but it still required an incision and stitches. Dr. TF explained everything he was doing throughout the procedure, and answered all my questions before and after. I felt very safe and well cared for, and was so relieved that there was no pain!

Fantastic experience: Thoroughly professional periodontal Dentists office in Oakland with years of experience. They are widely known in the East Bay for their expertise. I was referred to them by my General Dentist to get a specialist to examine my teeth and gums and suggest a program to insure that I will maintain a healthy mouth. I was only vaguely aware of how serious gum disease can be and how it can literally lead to not only loss of teeth but deterioration of the bones in your jaw. Problem gums can also be linked to other health problems. The office staff was very friendly and courteous and Dr. Trevor Fujinaka put me at ease and took the time to learn about me and my health history before he explained what he would do and painlessly performed his examination of my teeth and gums. He presented me with a plan to improve and maintain my dental health. If you are nervous or squeamish about going to the Dentist and you want the best periodontal specialist treatment you can get, you would not be disappointed going to the office of Dr. Fujinaka DDS.

Fantastic experience: I have to said that this is my first time that I can said I finally found a great place with a great staff and a great experience. I have bad experiences in the pass in general but once my wife recommended Dr Glenn M Fujinaka and his son, I was scared to try them but I had to try them, as soon you arrive you can see people there are some true professionals and they give you a trust and you feel right away like if they care about your problems and concerns and also explain you the best option for your needs, I recently removed one of my back tooth and 0 pain that's how good this guys are. Overall a great experience so I won't be afraid of a dentist no more.

Fantastic experience: I visited the office of Dr Glenn and Dr Trevor Fujinaka to have consulation for a procedure to be performed for my problem gum area created by an existing crown and tooth issue. Dr Trevor Fujinaka performed the consultation, he is knowledgeable and professional. This put me at ease because going to the dentist can create some anxiety. He also has a friendly and professional staff. I have an appointment for a procedure in December and I think everything will go well. Im back for my 2nd office visit to have the gum procedure performed. Kinda exciting because this is similar to a root canal in terms of oral surgery procedure. I thought Dr Trevor Fujinaka show excellent skills in performing the gum procedure and he showed lots of poise and confidence. He explained what tasks he was performing and the me feel at ease My worries were the after procedures symptoms, he explained was might occur and how to mitigate the issues. Overall an excellent experience.
