Fantastic experience: Honestly love this entire team. Every single person I met at this office was kind and patient. All of the dentists are incredibly efficient, skilled, and caring. The hygienists are gentle, intuitive, and answered all my questions about dental care and health. They are upfront about costs, and affordable without dental insurance. A+++++ ! EDIT: Coming back in 2024 to fully enforce the same review I left six years ago. This dental office continues to be the most friendly, efficient, communicative, educational, patient, and caring dentist experiences I’ve ever had! I feel very safe with everyone I meet there, and they answer all my worry-wart questions with clear explanations that I can understand. Love coming here! And that’s a weird thing to say about going to the dentist! EDIT: Coming back again in 2026 to once again confirm that this is the best dental office I’ve been to. The added new staff is great! I get a good laugh when I’m there, and am surprised by how efficient but thorough they are with xrays, cleaning, and polish. I always leave pain free and feeling confident in my dental health. Fantastic experience: I feel like I’m in a professional setting. The entire staff makes you feel welcome and comfortable. That’s not easy for me, nonetheless I’m in highly capable hands with Dr.Nam.

Fantastic experience: I’m a brand new patient and although it took what seemed like a long time out to get an initial appointment, it was worth the wait. Everyone was really professional and personable; although the office has a “tight” spaced feel I found myself rounding it up to “cozy” and close quarters doesn’t seem to slow the staff down one bit. I’m looking forward to my next visit * Multiple great visits later: 5/27/26 Just got back from a cleaning. I love this office. I’m a lifer and let’s get that straight. That said things felt a little rush this morning and potentially understaffed by Doctors. I Had DR Nam and in his chair the rush was Palpable and at times I felt a bit like a bass fish caught by the lip. It’s just on his feedback and I won’t change my Star rating because of it

Fantastic experience: I had my first visit with the office and have nothing but positive things to say. The staff are very friendly and efficient and the office is clean and well organized. Dr. Christine is AMAZING! I'm horribly afraid of the dentist and mouth pain but she is fantastic.. totally put me at ease, is very gentle and even had me laughing throughout the visit. I will definitely continue going and strongly recommend Dr. Christine for those patients that have anxiety towards the dentist.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Amy Blake is literally an artist in dentistry. She fixed 2 ongoing problems that were creating daily misery. She is creative in her solutions and dedicated to her patients care with the highest standard. You will not find better dentists or nicer people then Dr. Blake and Dr. Nam. Finding a good dentist you trust is like finding a good mechanic. It’s not easy! I tell everyone who will listen about Dr. Nam’s office and have been a client for 9 years. His staff is knowledgeable, detail oriented, professional and kind. He also donates his time to helping people who can’t afford dentistry and I want to support a business like that. The prices are great and they work with you on higher priced procedures. I moved to Santa Cruz and happily drive up to see them. I wish 10 stars was an option!

They have worked with me trough financial issues dental / emergencies and made every single visit a warm and welcoming one, i couldnt wish for a more pleasant staff to assist me with any dental needs.

Fantastic experience: The dentist are amazing and very easy to work with. Matter of fact today, I needed to see someone urgently. Not only were they able to get me an appointment and I was able to see them within the next 12 hours. Now, that incredible service! This office is also incredibly accommodating. There have been times they’ve made me so comfortable that I’ve actually fallen asleep. I could not recommend a better dentist to use because they are the best!!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Nam and the entire staff are AMAZING including the security gentleman outside. Parking is limited but that’s a small price to pay for extremely quality service. There is a lift available for those who need special accommodations as my mom needs. The security guard is so pleasant and accommodating. Dental work isn’t always pleasant but somehow they have mastered the experience for their customers. A job well done!!!!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Nam and team are simply the best in the Oakland area. Our whole family-- three generations-- have been going to them for years. They are highly skilled and experienced at everything from comforting frightened toddlers and convincing them to allow their teeth to be cleaned (and keep brushing at home!) to serious root canals and periodontitis surgery.

Negative experience: Great dental care, but they have a security person at the door who acts like law enforcement. It’s very uncomfortable and completely out of place for a dentist office

Positive experience: 3.5 Stars The polishing and dental X-ray technician was a but aggressive. Felt like my tooth was about to be chipped. The cleaning was thorough, and felt amazing upon exiting the office. The music added a great touch.

Fantastic experience: I've had both Dr. Name and Dr. Blake work on my teeth (Dr. Blake is my actual dentist) over the past few years going to their office and both are fantastic! Everyone in the office is very friendly, kind, and helpful. Dr. Name, Dr. Blake, and all the techs are very gentle and caring. I got a lot of cavities and had some pretty extensive orthodontic work as a kid/teen so dental care/visits can cause me some anxiety, but I really don't experience that going to this office. This extended into my experience getting all four wisdom teeth taken out simultaneously as well! I was given the option to do the extractions over two visits (and technically I didn't HAVE to get all four out if I'm remembering correctly), but after talking to both doctors, I felt comfortable doing all four at once as well as a few fillings and it was a great experience! Dr. Nam did my wisdom teeth and he was quick but gentle and communicated and checked in with me throughout the procedure. It was quicker, easier, and less painful than I could ever hope for! Another great experience - my husband also sees Dr. Blake and he came in for his first visit with some sever tooth pain. Turns out he needed an emergency root canal but it was the end of the day and most offices were closing, but Dr. Blake called a personal friend who was an endodontist and asked him to see my husband that evening after hours and he agreed and my husband was able to get the needed work done that day! I would recommend both dentists to anyone! Just a great office all around

Fantastic experience: Dr. Nam saved me soooooo much stress today by stabilizing a tooth before I go into labor! An emergency dentist was going to charge me 5 times as much and would have required me to come back right after childbirth. Feels like they actually care here, and are patient centered. I usually see Dr. Blake who is also great. Highly recommend them both.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Blake, Dr. Nam - the entire staff never cease to pleasantly surprise me! Dentist visits are never fun, but they make you feel like you're right at home. I've been seeing Dr. Blake for many years. The staff will explain the process and talk through each step (teeth cleaning, root canal, xray, etc.) so you are informed throughout the process. Making appointments and communicating with the team has always been seamless as they can receive texts/calls for appointments. It makes it easier for someone who works full time and can't call during normal business hours. You can leave them a text and they'll reply during their normal business hours to confirm.

Fantastic experience: I've been coming to Dr. Nam's office for 8 years and it's a perfect dentist's office. They keep notes on the patients so they know what you like, for example I don't do the polish and they know that. I also really appreciate that they don't do a lot of small talk while the cleaning is happening. The dental assistants change frequently because they're a training facility but everyone is very professional, quick and well informed. Plus the main dentists have been there for years, it's a great place to work. The awesome thing I found out today is that they have weighted blankets if you want one, something Dr. Nam helped design! I got the 10 lb one and it was heaven. I closed my eyes behind the super sports sunglasses, listened to the delightful playlist they always have going (no smooth musac jazz, thank you) and felt downright cozy during my visit. Great spot, check it out!

Fantastic experience: My appointment was far more than satisfactory. I was actually treated as a human, which means a lot to me as a medi-cal recipient, and a cavity was filled on the spot. I felt very well informed at the end of the appointment. I would highly recommend this office to any medi-cal recipient.

Fantastic experience: This is an excellent dentist office, with great staff and communications. The office is calm and comfortable. They are fast and efficient and friendly, and I’ve always found a nearby parking spot on the street. This is the fifth dentist office I’ve been to in the past 20 years in the Bay Area and my favorite one - my entire family now sees Dr Blake and Dr Nam.

Negative experience: Please don’t waste your time trying to call them. Automated messaging system text you and they will reply after 2 day. Then to asking you how did you reach them and request you info about your insurance, they will put on an waitlist during months. What kind of health service are they offering? What kind of ethical or moral professional do they have???

The same kindness, humor, and hospitality was demonstrated from check-in, x-rays, to the doctor, cleanings and follow-up scheduling. It had been a while since going to the dentist. Given what I was dealing with, they made my return less traumatic.

Specifically with Dr. Blake who has done my cleanings as well as my Invisalign. She is so friendly and supportive. Going to the dentist can be stressful but I always feel relieved after a visit. Fantastic experience: I get treated by Dr Blake. Dr Blake is exceptional in how she puts me at ease and educates me on how to care for my dental hygiene. She comes across as very caring, fun and playful, which makes my visits stress-free. The entire staff at this clinic is extremely helpful and supportive, atypical of any hospital environment. Fantastic experience: Staff is very polite respectful. They are very good at guiding you through a procedure and very sensitive to your needs they go out off their way to accommodate your need. I'm very grateful to have them as my dental team. I have trauma caused by my previous dentist and they have been very helpful and sensitive to this issue.

Negative experience: Please don't go to this place if you are a student and have dental cal. The Doctor provides Dental Cal solely because of the tax break and since teeth filling was covered by Dental CAL, he lied in front of my face that I don't have any cavities, what he said was "I don't see any cavities" which was absolutely a lie since the dentist I went last year told me I have 6 cavities and thank to Nam that I knew filling will be covered by Dental Cal at the moment he lied. The staff in the front desk Jenny has no decency and beyond rude. When I've done with my regular check-up, I was sitting outside and she approached me and told me that I was able to bring me spouse in and she can schedule for me the day. So, I listened to her and called my spouse who's about to pick me up but not around. When I was calling her, she immediatly became agitated and told me "You can't call in the front desk area", what kind of companies, stores, offices would tell their customers to not pick up their phone in the front desk areas? This rude attitude's unbearable and disgusting, she acted. like i was the one approaching her and asked her whether she could schedule for my partner? In fact, she was the one who offered it and I was just doing it because I naively thought she trully wanna schedule and was kind. And i just followed what she told me to do and she said something " I am sorry, I have other stuff to do so I won't be able to schedule her up, let her call me." Ok, so I called my partner and told her that she can call the office and she called, Jenny started mumbling like "I didn't know she will call now!" How rude is her attitude, I clearly knew that it was 4:00 and they will close at 5 and i didn't ask her to do any EXTRA WORK for me, she was the one who offered and started to talk shit in front of the customers in front of their face? Something more disgusting's waiting for me. Jenny again began to say something like "Anna, are you gonna leave, oh, cause I don't want you to feel like you are waiting for us!"? It's understandable that you don't want to provide service to patients with Medical, but it's unethical and unacceptable for you to humiliate them like this!!

Negative experience: I trusted this place to install two crowns on my upper rear molars after having a double root canal. The first time that they did it the crowns were extremely uncomfortable and caused excessive inflammation within weeks. X rays were taken and cavitation had already begun. I was told this was because my bite had spread my teeth, allowing for food to be trapped in the newly formed gap and that there was nothing they could do besides try to replace the crowns and try again. So, I let them extract and replace both crowns, which was extremely intrusive and uncomfortable and it didn’t solve the problem. I have tried to contact Dr. Blake about this but the front desk insists that I pay to have access to her for a “consultation” which is ridiculous after spending thousands of dollars to have faulty work done. Any business with integrity would agree to take accountability for their faulty work without charging the clients even more money to “consult” them.

Fantastic experience: I'm deathly afraid of dentists and my friend recommended Dr. Nam so I went to him after not seeing a dentist for many years. As soon as I walked into the office I was made to feel not only listened to but well informed of what needed to be done. I was then made very comfortable by his assistants before the work was to be done. Dr. Nam was very kind and soft spoken and he explained everything to me. You will feel cared for as if you were going in for a spa treatment, even though you’re there for X-rays and a cleaning. : )) The dental hygienists/assistants are wonderful and always thinking ahead. They explain everything the office and dental areas are immaculate. The results are amazing. If you have a dental issue are looking for a great dentist, he’s my go to dentist because he is a perfectionist and I never leave disappointed .

Dr. Nam assesses the problem, formulates the solution and executes the treatment with the utmost efficiency and least discomfort possible. The assistant was very friendly and professional. Had X-rays, cleaning and a filling all in the same appointment. Great bedside manners from the doctor and assistant.

Fantastic experience: Been three years since I saw the dentist (due to a bad experience), and instead of a cleaning I got a surprise tooth extraction (for a painful tooth- was hoping filling or at worst a root canal in the future but that tooth already had one). And even then, I'm happy about today's visit because I finally got a dentist it's I think I could stay with. Bought the in house sorta insurance plan. Everyone was SUPER friendly, and sensitive to my anxiety. I'm glad I followed my friend's referral. Oh, and first time anyone ever took a full head 360 degree x-ray. *update* been a number of appointments now- this is by far one of the most pleasant dentist experiences I have had. I have gum disease, but am not in pain when they clean, this is the first dentist that has been so gentle!

Fantastic experience: These guys are simply the best! Professionalism, quality and just good people to boot! They got the whole package. Plus now they have something called the Wallaby. It's like a blanket that keeps you planted in place. Such a help and strangely makes you feel much more comfy and takes the stress away. That simple thing really helps.
