Fantastic experience: I had a great first visit at Wedgwood Family Dentistry. The office was organized, calm, and professional from start to finish. The hygienist was thorough and gentle, clearly explained what she was doing, and respected my preference for hand scaling (no cavitron) without any issue. They carefully measured my periodontal pockets, confirmed stability, and made a thoughtful, conservative recommendation to continue periodontal maintenance. No pressure, no upselling—just clear explanations and good clinical judgment. The cleaning wasn’t painful at all, and everything felt unhurried and well-run. After a frustrating experience at my previous dentist, this was a huge relief. I’m very glad I made the switch and feel confident continuing my care here.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been to several dentists around the Seattle area in the 13 years that I’ve lived here and Dr. A with Wedgewood family dental has been by far the best experience I’ve had! All of the staff is extremely attentive, they were able to get me in for an emergency crown, and the facilities are upgraded and clean! 10/10 would recommend to anyone needing a new dentist! Plus, top pot being right across the street is an early morning dental treat!

Positive experience: Update: they reached out to me the day after I posted my review and offered a follow up complimentary cleaning. I was initially hesitant, but the hygienist who took care of me this time felt a lot more experienced and meticulous and I was very satisfied. I appreciate them reaching out and proactively addressing the situation although I wasn’t expecting it :) Original review: I had my very first cleaning & comprehensive exam at Wedgwood Family Dentistry. I was excited to try the practice out as there were many good reviews, but I was overall disappointed by the lack of detail and care from the hygienist. Usually when I get a full mouth X-ray or any procedure where there are equipment in my mouth, the hygienists/assistants are very careful to give clear instructions (open) or move slowly, but I felt like the hygienist only said “close” and moved the equipment around not very gently. I felt the same way when they were checking my gums as well, more pain/pricking than I have experienced in past exams across 3 different practices. I was also not super satisfied with the cleaning. It felt shorter than other cleanings I’ve had, and based on feel and look I didn’t notice a huge difference in the before and after. That being said, everyone I’ve interacted with from start to finish were kind and friendly. I don’t know that I would go back based on my experience, but it was overall alright.

Fantastic experience: We had an amazing experience at Wedgwood Family Dentistry! My preteen son needed a tooth extraction and has a pretty extreme phobia of needles. I was worried he would need to have general anesthesia to get through it, however I decided to giver Dr. Mitchell a shot first. I'm so glad we did!! Dr. Mitchell was extremely patient and professional, giving my son breaks and talking through things as needed during the whole experience. I appreciate the attention to detail and care taken to make my son's experience as pleasant as possible! Negative experience: Disclaimer- I gave this feedback privately and did not receive a response, so now I'm sharing publicly in the hope that it will be taken into consideration. TLDR - I’ve been going to WFD regularly over the last four years, and the professionalism and effort from the hygienists has steadily gone down hill. I'm honestly surprised at how high the google reviews are, given my experiences. The hygienist I saw this time was sweet, and seemed well-intentioned, but needed more training/practice, which is the responsibility of the business to correct. - The hygienist was distracted the whole time. She kept looking at the lobby while she was cleaning my teeth. She should NEVER have a sharp tool scraping my teeth unless she is looking at what she is doing. I’ve never had a hygienist do this. It was harrowing. - She did not thoroughly clean my teeth, though she was quite aggressive and did not have a light touch. The cleaning/polishing was probably 15 min total. She seemed to be rushing. - She did not understand how to use the water sprayer. It kept deflecting off my teeth and all over my face and I had water running down the sides of my face at several points during the cleaning. - During the cleaning one of the other tools started spraying water, which I didn’t notice until my pants were soaked and water was pooling up on the chair. She apologized but seemed like she didn’t properly understand how these tools worked, and it made me feel like I was not in confident hands. Overall, I would strongly encourage WFD to regularly assess your hygienists’ performance as I’ve had several mediocre experiences, with this latest one being absolutely unacceptable. I’m honestly shocked that your google reviews are so good. People must not be having the same experience as me. For what it's worth - Dr. Reza has always been pleasant and professional. No complaints there.

Fantastic experience: I am glad to recommend Wedgwood Family Dentistry, for a number of reasons. Scheduling with them is easy and reliable - when I forgot the day and time of my next appointment, I was able to quickly reach the front desk staff and get my questions answered. Moreover, they have automated reminders when my appointments are within a week’s time, which have more than once saved me from missing a cleaning. Each of the dental hygienists who have taken care of me have worked efficiently to clean my teeth, and address any questions I had (for example, what I should do when some of my gums were a bit inflamed and in need of extra attention. They also strike a happy balance of enough conversation to feel comfortable, and not so much conversation that it is difficult to respond when there are cleaning tools in my mouth! Dr Mitchell and Dr Reza have treated me with kindness, professionalism, and care for my well being whenever I have spoken with them. This last time around I was struggling to floss between my lower right back molars, as the space between had become constricted. Dr Mitchell shared with me the option of using “tooth sandpaper” to help ease the constriction. After explaining how it works, he quickly set to work, and within a matter of minutes, solved the problem without any pain. I’ve been seeing this dental team for over 3 years now, and I intend to stay

Fantastic experience: I’ve seen both Dr. Mitchell and Dr. Reza over the past 2 years and I love this practice! They both take care to explain in detail any concerns they have, and I always feel like I’m able to get all my questions answered. The women who answer the phone are always helpful; the assistants have been gentle and responsive to my needs e.g, (to take a break to relax or to raise or lower the chair etc). Dentists have all been good after he retired, but this current dentist… is awesome. He has the best dental hygienist. My hygienist is so good on helping me avoid cavities and keep my mouth healthy that I have never had a cavity since working with her. Highly, highly recommend this practice. Fantastic experience: I always have anxiety about getting fillings after having several bad experiences where I felt pain during the drilling. I just had my first filling with Dr. Reza and he was very understanding and accommodating, giving me lots of local anesthesia and checking in with me frequently to make sure it still felt okay. It was over before I knew it. This was the least painful filling I've ever had, so thank you Dr. Reza! The office itself is very clean and pleasant and the staff are always friendly and helpful. I've had both Jamie and Sophia clean my teeth now and they are both excellent, thorough, and kind. Very happy with my dentist.

Positive experience: I'd advise against this place if you're trans. They were confused that my insurance was under a different name and they did not respect my preferred name. On top of that, they called me over and over to change an appointment I stated several times I did not want to change. I cancelled my first appointment before I even got there -- I can't get care from somewhere I'm not sure I'll be safe and I don't want to be pestered like that. Giving 3 stars for benefit of the doubt that these were honest mistakes.

I was well overdue for a visit and was feeling nervous, but she was so careful and efficient and kind with my cleaning. She also gave me very specific advice for how I can improve my oral hygiene routine that didn’t make me feel bad about where I was falling short. 10/10 recommend this office if you’ve had historically bad experiences at the dentist.

Fantastic experience: Always have been prompt, done a good job, and didn’t make me get fillings until they are absolutely necessary so I trust they are not overcharging me (they watch it and check in 6 months later to see, I typically have then been able to reverse any damage)

Fantastic experience: I am a brand new client to this dentist, but I have to say that I'm already thrilled! I was between jobs, between insurance, and naturally my tooth broke over the weekend and needed immediate attention. They got me in within 48 hours. I've had a fairly rough past in my dental care growing up and struggle to trust the process. Dr. Reza took the time to ask about that as well as how he and his team could help me feel more comfortable and relaxed during the procedure (high communication about what's happening and why), and they followed through. Treatment was great, reasonably priced, and I'm happy to say that I think I've found my longterm dentist :)

Fantastic experience: I wish I came here sooner. Excellent service and loved how nerdy the hygienist was about all things floss and flossing. She showed me how to get my floss game from a 6 to a 10 and other things to keep my teeth healthy. I have been looking for a new dentist for a long time since moving to Seattle. I was flying back and forth to NJ to see my old dentist. Now, I can save my money because I finally found a dentist I like, trust, and felt comfortable with. Dr. Reza came highly recommended, especially for UW students like myself because of all of the above and his proximity to campus and where I live. So convenient distance away by bus. I also liked how they explained all the costs to me ahead of time so I could plan for whatever my insurance may not cover and not be surprised later. So happy to have something positive to say about Seattle for a change. (The freeze is real y'all...and no, it's not the weather). Thanks so much for bringing the warmth, charm, and hospitality.

Negative experience: My old dentist got bought out by these people or moved all their clients or something, so I did not have a choice going here. I had the worst cavity filling experience of my life. The dentist put some block in my mouth that was way too big for me and told me not to bite it, which was physically impossible. I told him this, and he did nothing about it, I just got scolded and told to not bite the block even though I physically could not open my mouth any wider. Instead of trying something new, I toughed it out and I was in pain for days after. I have had many cavities filled before and this has never happened. I will be switching dentists.

Fantastic experience: I’m am 60 years old and have had many wonderful dentists in my life but hands down Dr. Reza comes in first place. His work is thorough, fast and painless. Dr. Reza and staff are very personable and make you feel at ease and like you are their priority. Very grateful to have such an amazing dentist who cares about my teeth. An additional benefit of being a patient with Dr. Reza is that he uses the most current technology, techniques and equipment. He is able to provide advanced care in office in most cases vs being sent to a specialist which has been my experience with other dentists. I have been receiving exceptional care and expertise since becoming a patient with Dr. Reza. I have a complete confidence that Dr. Reza can take care of my routine dental wellness as well as any complications that come up. Just had my cleaning with Sophia. She was so gentle I could have fallen asleep. Always a great experience at Dr Reza’s. Jill at the front desk always makes sure I never miss an appointment and keeps me well informed of my account info. A great office manager is key. July 17th I had 4 front crowns done this morning and was extremely happy with the results. These are the most prominent teeth when I smile and they came out flawless thanks to Dr Reza. He had my permanent crowns expedited and seated in less than one week. Also thank you to the amazing staff and dental techs who make everything run so well. A+ every visit.

One troubling aspect was the insistence on immediate payment after each visit, even before processing with my insurance. This rushed approach felt unprofessional and disregarded the complexities involved in insurance coverage and claims processing. While the staff's demeanor wasn't overtly unfriendly, there was a noticeable lack of warmth and empathy that made the overall experience less welcoming. Additionally, some comments made by Dr. Reza left me feeling uncomfortable. Moreover, the quality of the dental work performed raised doubts. Despite assurances, I experienced discomfort both during and after procedures, with my tooth still causing pain even a week later. This has led me to question the qualifications and competence of the team. Furthermore, my previous cleaning back in January was unsatisfactory. It's essential to ensure that any response provided is accurate and appropriate. Over the past year, I've visited your office three times, primarily for tooth cleanings. My most recent visit was in early April 2024, during which Dr. Reza examined my tooth and even suggested a referral. This additional detail may help clarify your patient records. Additionally, you mentioned that the shorter cleaning time was attributed to excellent homecare. If that's the case, why do you still recommend a cleaning schedule of every three months? If your goal is to genuinely address any concerns, I recommend reaching out directly for further clarification and resolution.

Fantastic experience: Sophia is the best! I usually have a hard time to tell the difference between clinics but Wedgewood family dentistry set themselves apart! Super clean and bright environment. Front desks are super helpful answering questions and taking phone calls when needed. I do regular dental cleaning here for over a year now and I highly recommend Sophia. She is very careful when handling my teeth. She make sure I feel relaxed during the process. Even her voice calm me down. It’s the first time I ever wanna review a dental clinic and the first time I ever feel I don’t ever want to change to another one again.

Negative experience: Had a good overall experience for most of my time at this practice. Then, back in December, I went in for a routine filling. I was assigned to have this work done at their secondary office across the street since they were too busy to fit me in at the main practice. Ever since I had this filling done, I have had extreme tooth pain and inability to chew with the right side of my mouth. This has been going on for over 5 months now. The filling was not done properly and the dentist that performed the work completely botched the job. I had to switch practices just to have a qualified dentist tell me that the filling was not even set properly. They also appear to have ground my tooth down in the wrong areas. I have been to multiple dental practices and endodontists since, and none of them have been able to make sense of what has happened either. All I know is that after 30+ years of no tooth pain whatsoever, my quality of life is now dramatically impacted and Wedgewood Family took zero accountability over what had happened. I went from having perfect teeth to having intense pain when even trying to chew soft foods. I can’t in good conscience recommend this practice to anybody

Positive experience: I have been going to Brandon for my cleaning from several years. He’s very gentle with his technique and a very pleasant person to interact with. He has always given me the right advice when I had any follow up questions. I haven’t had much interaction with the new doctors there, but I would certainly recommend Brandon and the dental practice.

Fantastic experience: Everything about this first visit told me that I want to keep coming here. Receptionist was friendly and helpful, Jordan my hygienist was truly a professional, Dr. Mitchell was thorough and proactive, and Aldridge did his job well, too. What especially impressed me was hearing about their interest in helping others, whether building schools overseas, or providing dental care in Nepal. The friendly atmosphere said a lot, too.

It literally feels like your best friends house and your best friends parents have basically adopted you. In the lobby there is a cool aquarium to look at if you forgot your phone. Everyone that works here is super nice and friendly.

Fantastic experience: I am a very nervous patient when it comes to the dentist. Everyone is so good with me at Wedgewood. They constantly check in to see if I’m doing okay and put in effort to make sure I feel comfortable. I am so grateful to have found such a wonderful dentist!

They successfully repaired older fillings that were poorly done at other dental locations in Seattle, and I haven't had any big dental issues since starting to see them for the last three years.
