Negative experience: I have been a patient here for years but recently began to re-examine the treatment I received. Over the course of 2 years, I was told I needed 4 crowns from the dentist at the time. I did not receive a second opinion. I go to the dentist twice a year and this was never an issue. I blindly followed her advice. Recently, a co-worker of mine experienced the same thing. However, she did get a second opinion. The second opinion was vastly different. We have decided to change dental care away from this corperate facility to a local dentist. I did want to mention there seemed to be an issue keeping staff (including dentist). The turnover rate seemed quite high for the clinical staff.

Negative experience: This was the worse mistake I ever made going there. Kaitlyn Hawkins ruined my life. I have been suffering in pain since May 20th 25. My appointment was scheduled for 2:30 and she didn’t start my fillings until 4:45. I was out the chair around 5:15. Now that was next to impossible. Well one of my tooth was in so much pain I was confused at why? I looked at my tooth and she drilled deep hole and told me you need A root canal. So I was sent away just like that. The tooth was shocking me and the pain unbearable. I bought my own filling in so it could make me comfortable whatever was going on but it continued. It felt like someone was shocking me with electricity and the pain continued everyday even now. So I could not take it anymore. Was scheduled for now a root canal and they discovered a foreign object in my nerve. When the dentist drilled it felt like shock. So the dentist said you didn’t know about the object I was like hell no . Ms. Hawkins and that office need to address what has happened. Who would do that to someone and the hide it I am sitting here crying my eyes out now. My right side of my face swelling in pain and having involuntary jerking because my tooth feels like electricity. This is why people fear the dentist. This is no way to live. I’m literally afraid that what ever is in my nerve might kill me. I’m so scared and the anxiety it has caused. I’m not sure what to do but This is costing me . I’m really fear that office. Ms. K Hawkins need her license revoked. I will let everyone know what happened to me and I pray this don’t take me out. That is medical Malpractice and then she hid the fact what she did. No one has called to check on me or address the issue.

Years ago I had some really bad experiences and thought all dentists were the same.They gave me a blanket, stressball, TV channel choice, numb my gums so well before the procedure. Rae Lyn, RDH, was outstanding—she took her time to explain every detail thoroughly and made sure I understood everything. Negative experience: I was referred to another specialist after I had a crown put on. I was in pain a couple of months after that on that same tooth and nobody didn't know including the Dr. what was the cause of it. That's extra money to put out to go somewhere else to get a second opinion just for pain where the crown was put on and now extra charges was bought to my attention on that last visit around the tooth area...I won't be coming back soon.

The $99 New Patient Exam comes with a cleaning and scan of your entire teeth. They give you run down of what to expect for the future. The environment of the office was cozy & friendly. Fantastic experience: Miss Kaitlyn the dentist went up and beyond to help me. I can't explain how gratefulful I am and for this office. The dentist was awesome,explained anything going on with my teeth and offered other services to help with my gums and teeth. So glad I ran across them.

Fantastic experience: Coursey Dental is amazing I have always been afraid of the dentist due to having my jaw locking during a procedure in the past. Dr. Hawkins assured me she would know what to do if this was to happen. Raylyn is the best she is so patient and caring and does a great job she know Im afraid and always do what she can to make sure I am comfortable. Ms.Debbie works at the front desk when I first called to make my appointment she was so nice I told her if everyone their is nice like you I know it will be a great place. I have had four visits and haven’t experienced any issues I normally don’t do reviews but they deserve it.

Negative experience: I was not going to write a review about my experience until I saw similar experiences to mine. Last year, I was told I had four cavities. I had four fillings done by the dentist and she did not set one right. After multiple attempts of trying to fix it, she attempted a root canal. I sat in that room for two hours while they attempted to do a procedure that it seems she had no business doing. I was crying and left the office with no resolution. I had to see a professional and he said my root was very tricky and required specialized equipment. The dentist had no business attempting this procedure. This experience was traumatizing as I had to go approximately 6 times to try and get my tooth she messed up fixed and then she botched a root canal. I think she rushed with my fillings which caused long term issues and expensive procedures. After reading previous reviews, I’m very concerned for other patients.

Fantastic experience: By far the most enjoyable experience that I’ve had at a dentist. Mrs. Kaitlin the dentist, and Tye her assistant, made my visit to get cavities filled actually enjoyable (believe it or not). They’re really good. I was extremely anxious about having to get the numbing shots.. She went to do them and when she told me she was already done I was amazed. She did this little cheek rubbing thing and I didn’t feel a thing. After my first visit I was actually excited to go back knowing I was in good hands. Mrs. Debbie up front is super sweet and very helpful as well. 10/10 this is where I will be going to all my dental work done. Thank you!!! -Matt C

Negative experience: Things have gone from okay (2021) to horrible (2023-2024) at this dentist office. Dr. Hawkins has the rudest bedside manner; I've seen her twice and both times I cried after getting to my car just because of how awful and anxious she made me feel. I've filled out their customer surveys and never gotten a response. Additionally the last two times I've gone, they've sent me a $75 bill both times after assuring me when I was in the office my insurance was in network and they would cover the visit after my copay. I've contacted my insurance and gotten confirmation from them CFD was paid in full and I should not owe anything. When I call, CFD never answers their phone and they only call me while I'm at work and unable to talk. I gave them a second chance after the first time this happened, but I will never go again and I always tell people how horrible this place is.

Fantastic experience: I recently had an implant that became loose. I thought it was just the crown loose. They called the dentist who installed the implant and got an appointment for me for that afternoon. He was able to give a new implant the same day. Negative experience: I never write Google reviews. However, this is a time that it is needed. The woman dentist that I saw here was either terribly mistaken, or was trying to get something out of me. She told me that I needed to have a crown built out on my filling and that I have a cavity right next to my filling. I have not had any issues with either of those teeth and was very confused. This was the first time I saw this Dentist as well. If I had not seen the other Google reviews about how she had talked them into getting crowns put on, I would have gone ahead with it. Instead, I got a second opinion. This Dentist told me that there was nothing wrong and everything Could be monitored. He said everything looks completely stable as of now. I was going to fork over, over $1000 and have someone drill into my teeth that didn’t even need to be done. How disheartening that someone is either uneducated and practicing or is money hungry. Please choose somewhere else to take your business.

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Hawkins and the staff at Coursey Family Dental. My hygiene appts always go so well with Raelynn, she’s so calming and sweet. My teeth are always so clean and perfect afterwards. I always appreciate Dr. Hawkins and her thoroughness when she assess my X-rays and teeth. Her treatment plans are something I am incredibly thankful for. She informs you of a risk assessment of which teeth need to be fixed/repaired and in what time frame. I had to get a filling and while I was still numb I felt my bite was normal. Dr. Hawkins told me that if when I was no longer numb and it felt off to call. The next day I felt something was off and I called and was able to get an appt right away to get it fixed and the problem was solved! I definitely recommend CFD to all my friends.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic experience! My hygienist was very patient during my cleaning. She kept me in the loop with anything she noticed. She also was very patient with my daughter who asked all sorts of questions about the machines, taking her time to answer all of them. Dr. Hawkins was very informative and made sure to answer all the questions that I asked, and made sure to let me know everything that was going on in detail. I did not feel rushed or “like a number”. I had a lengthy appointment due to it being my first time, but I definitely had no wait in between transitions. Everything was detailed and clean. I look forward to my next appointment!!!

Negative experience: Dentist seemed very arrogant and uninformed. Only 6 yrs experience and could tell me the best oral surgeon?? Dental assistant knew much more than she did. Very kind and thorough. Dentist only spent about 5 min with me and had to keep asking the dental hygienist what was wrong!! Needs to improve her bedside manner! Didn't seem very informed or knowledgeable. Will get a second opinion. I was told I needed 6 crowns, needed to see a "Particular" oral surgeon and anyone else wouldn't meet her standards!! So there's only one oral surgeon in the Baton Rouge area that was up to her standards!! It's a money making scam!! Get a second opinion before you pay her a dime!!

Negative experience: I don't usually do this but I feel that people should always get a second opinion if this Doctor suggests anything. When my husband & I started going there it was Dr. Jacob and he was amazing! He took his time and spoke to you and was never in a rush. We went regularly & had no problems. Then we went and it was Dr. Hawkins. We saw Dr. Jacob about six months or so earlier & my husband had ZERO issues and now all of a sudden he needed 4-6 crowns! He had two done & since then, that side of his mouth has not been the same. He could barely chew on that side. I then went in, the first thing she said to me was that she could fix one of my teeth to match the other because it was slightly smaller than the other side. It had never bothered me until her. That’s the first thing you say to a new patient?!?! Then I was told that I had a cavity and also needed 1-2 crowns! I let her do the cavity & when it came time for making sure it all lined up properly, it felt rushed. So it wasn’t right & I needed to go back. I called and they told me to go in for 9:30 am. I was there on time, sent back at a decent time, but then I waited for an HOUR for the Doctor. Who only came to me because I was literally walking out because it was insane to wait that long when you were told to come in. She walked pasted me in the hall and didn’t look at me or say a word. Rushed the whole time and was cold. She rushes and is just not very friendly. Needless to say, we went to another dentist who saw no need for either of us to get crowns. Seems like she’s out to get the most expensive work done to make money. IF SHE SAYS YOU NEED A CROWN OR ANYTHING, GO GET A SECOND OPINION.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Hawkins and her dental team Sade, Kaitlyn, and Ms. Debbie are so AMAZING! Dr Hawkins’ attention to detail and meticulous skill is UNMATCHED. I literally trust her with my life. And you can tell the staff genuinely care for one another and their patients. Everything works magically…effortlessly! Pure excellence.

Fantastic experience: First of all I have never had a female dentist experience. The entire staff was very nice and professional. The dental assistant (Kaitlyn) was absolutely amazing. Although the dentist, whose name is Kaitlyn as well, was not able to help with what I needed she gave me great recommendations for someone who could. This was my first time at this location and I highly recommend them. I'm a stickler for customer service and this place goes above and beyond that.

Fantastic experience: Miss Gaye, the dental hygienist, is the most thorough and patient I've ever had. She does not rush. She is very explanatory. Takes photos to show you. Understanding and talks to you, even getting ice for my sore hand. And the front desk is always especially nice and professional. The dentist is very proficient, only that you can feel that she's rushing too much from room to room.

Fantastic experience: This was my first visit as we moved from out of town. The staff all seemed nice and helpful. The hygenist was thorough and explained everything she was doing, they checked to make sure things were covered by my insurance. The dentist took her time and explained what our next step were.

Fantastic experience: Excellent experience from the moment I called to schedule my appointment. I’d literally called 3 other dentists offices and felt like no one cared. The staff here was absolutely delightful. I was able to get an appointment the very same day, and was able to get a root canal the same day as well. The doctor was very kind and meticulous. He made sure I was comfortable and at ease during the whole procedure. Not only did he do an amazing job with the root canal but he even called the next day to check on me.

Fantastic experience: The staff at Coursey Family Dental goes above and beyond in everyday, routine services and when you need them most. I had an old veneer pop off the evening before flying out for vacation early the next morning. They did not even hesitate to get me in right away to help! They always make you feel welcome and leave you feeling that they truly care.

Fantastic experience: Very friendly welcoming staff. The hygienist was professional, thorough and efficient. Doctor was energetic and encouraging. I will soon be 75 years old and have all my teeth! Many of my friends do not. I am thankful for All the staff at Coursey Dental.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Deniakos was surprisingly attentive and detailed oriented during my procedures. He took time to thoroughly explain, step by step, the procedure so that I may manage expectations properly and took every step to ensure I was comfortable. His bedside manner is impeccable - he was kind and patient during the process. His staff was professional, kind, informative and all COVID-19 health and safety profile were adhered to properly.

Fantastic experience: It was nice and professional. Office was nice and clean. Coffee was great. Dental facilities were nice and clean. Doctor was nice and professional. He gave advice which was needed. Employees did a good job. On 6-25-220, I went in again. Everything was great. They handled everything nicely. Even got me cleared to do business with major firm handling dental financing. I will be making 1 or 2 visits in near future.

Negative experience: So far I am not happy with the service provided at this dental office. They do not treat you as if you are important unless you are scheduling a procedure. Once your money has been paid, you are no longer valued. I have already changed my family to a different clinic due to my dissatisfaction. I have been experiencing pain for almost two months since having a dental procedure. This has been taken lightly by the staff and my appointment was cancelled even though I’m in pain and it was put off for another month. I would not recommend Coursey Family Dental to anyone due to poor customer service and frequent change of dentist. I have an appointment in one month. I will post an update and I pray for a better experience.

Negative experience: They did everything to make me feel comfortable during my visit! Great customer service! They even called to check on me after my wisdom tooth extractions. Will definitely go back for any dental services that I need. ***Updated review *** 01/27/2020 The dentist was great but billing is another story. I was over charged $500 and they billed my insurance more as well. My insurance paid them which put them $500 over since I paid prior to my extractions. I spoke to someone a month ago about the $500 and at first they acted nonchalant about my having a $500 credit then asked did I want a refund of the money. Of course!You think it’s a tip? They said that I would have to request for a refund for me. I understood but now it has been a few days shy of a month and I called back and supposedly it is still pending. It is amazing how they got their money and $500 more from me and yet it is taking a month to get my refund which I still don’t have and all they can say is it is pending. No matter how good the dental staff is if I’m getting overcharged and not getting my money back it isn’t worth coming here. I will not be back because of this.

Fantastic experience: Always friendly - my hygienist Gay, is always sharing things with me about my teeth - and how to better care for them — and the different things that are available — I have sensitive teeth, and she has never ever caused me any pain . New dentist today - Dr. Danakis— excellent .. I started going here because they took my insurance — but so glad I did! Love them all

Fantastic experience: Dr. Lewis and his staff are extremely friendly and nice. From the front workers to the ones in the back. I feel extremely comfortable with knowing the assistance has been practicing for 15 years. She explains everything's she's doing and for every reason. Dr. Lewis was in a timely manner and did a wonder job. Extremely recommend!

Fantastic experience: Coursey Family Dental is by far the most professional, courteous, and family-oriented office that I've ever been too. I love Mrs. G, who cleans my teeth and is always looking out for me. The entire staff makes you feel at home. You go in, and you don't have to worry about anything. They treat their patients like royalty, and they care about you. I love that the absolute most. Dr. Lewis, DDS has to be a dentist sent from the heavens. He is freakishly amazing at his craft. I would recommend this office to any and everyone. I love this place.
