Fantastic experience: My first introduction to this practice was with Dr. Jacqueline Alford and Dental Assistant, Victoria. I took my 4 month old in because there was some staining on his teeth we were concerned about. Victoria was so gentle and sweet, and Dr. Jacqueline was super engaged, encouraging, and informative. I love the experience so much, I myself switch from my previous practice to get established with them! I saw Dr. Jacqueline’s spouse, Dr. Jason Alford, who does the adult dentistry, and he was super kind, relaxed, and thorough. I even got to see Victoria again as my dental assistant (and she remembered my son and I from our previous visit). Not to mention, the biggest Green Flag was when I called the office to make my new patient appointment for myself, Dr. Jacqueline needed up answering the phone because staff was busy assisting other patients at that moment, and she entered my insurance, did the intake questions, and scheduled me, herself - PLUS she also remembered my son from his previous visit and was happy to have me come into their practice as a patient, as well! 10/10 couldn’t recommend more.

Fantastic experience: Was greeted upon arrival and taken right on time. Dr Alford gave a thorough examination and spent time to discuss with me. the Hygienist did a very thorough cleaning and was very personable. Finding the right dentist is important and I can honestly say there’s no one better than Dr Jason Alford in all of Reno.

Fantastic experience: I truly cant speak highly enough of this practice. My son had a dental emergency over a weekend a a couple months ago and we weren’t even establish with practice yet and they got us in on a Monday. Dr Jackie Alford was so great with my son. She took the time to go over every detail related to his tooth and answered all our questions. We had our first follow up appointment today and again got exceptional care. The dental hygienist was so welcoming, nice and easy to talk to, it honestly felt like talking with another mom at the park. Again Dr Jackie Alford was so kind and reassuring and spend time going over brushing care and teething details. I never feel rushed here and everyone genuine seems like they care and enjoy where they work. 10/10 recommend bringing your kiddo to this practice.

Fantastic experience: Alford Dentistry is about as friendly and comfortable as one can hope to get at a dental office. Great work by great folks. I highly recommend them.

Negative experience: I have taken my kids here a few times to have their teeth cleaned. Today I got a surprise bill over 50 dollars from them for X-rays for my daughter. I thought they were covered (as I have not gotten a bill for X-rays from my son) by my insurance, or I wouldn’t have gotten them done. They are not forthcoming with their prices or help to see what insurance will cover. I won’t be taking my kids back here again.

Fantastic experience: Since day 1, they made me feel very comfortable, they make you feel like you known them for years. Helps with action plan for future "when this happens", the whole office are good people. I highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Best practice in Northern Nevada Dr Jason Alford is such a calm easy going pain free Dentist who is very compassionate and cares for his patients. Dr Jackie Alford pediatric dentist is great with our 3 grandchildren who love going to the dentist. The office manager Olivia has a special connection with the patients and is extremely accommodating to everybody’s needs.

Fantastic experience: My son fell late Thursday night while riding his bicycle and shoved his 2 front teeth back. I immediately called Dr Jackie & without hesitation Dr Jackie and Dr Alford came into the office way after hours and made sure he was ok and relieved! Unfortunately he did loose his 2 front teeth but thankfully they were baby teeth. I cannot thank you two enough for saving my boy! Talk about a traumatic experience but with them being so amazing, my son walked out afterwards SOO much better and excited to come back for future cleanings! HUGE HUGE thank you to Dr Jackie & Jason Alford my son is doing fantastic and healing great! If you need a HANDS DOWN PHENOMENAL DENTIST(S) go see them I promise you and your little(s) won't be sorry! We are so beyond thankful for them! ❤️

Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Jason Alford for a check up for a cracked tooth. He was very thorough and more importantly, very gentle and informative! I have always been nervous going to the dentist, but this office has state of the art equipment and is very relaxing to be in, making my visit much easier. His explanations helped to ease my nerves and I am not as anxious about my tooth repair coming up. I highly recommend Dr. Alford and his staff for your dental needs.

Fantastic experience: Update: November 2025: I remember when I'd go to the dentist in the past I'd have to take off the entire day because it stressed me out so much. I'd have a death grip on the chair arms and then would have sore muscles for days. That hasn't happened since I've been going to Dr. Alford. It's weird that going to a dentist is practically a pleasant experience, but it's true. Also, the staff members are awesome. And the ambiance is very relaxing. I give them 111 out of 10 (it's my post, I can manipulate the days of I want. ) Update: September 24, 2025 As usual, my visit today was very pleasant. I had an issue and left them a message last night. They called me immediately this morning at got me in at noon. That's pretty amazing. The staff and the dentist were very nice and competent. The environment was very calming too. I'm very happy that I have access to Dr. Alford's practice. ----------++-------- Update: February 11, 2024 I've gotten to where I'm not even the least bit stressed to go to the dentist! The staff and dentists here are always awesome. Updated June 23, 2023 Once again, a pleasant visit. Everyone there is very nice. Updated 12/06/2022. Dr. Alford and his team continue to impress. They make a trip to the dentist enjoyable. Updated 05/12/2022 - They are still great. I went in for a cleaning. An issue was found and repaired while I was there. Quick and easy. Very nice staff and doctor. Very thorough too. I am impressed. I usually get very stressed out about going to the dentist. I've been to Dr. Alford several times now, and it has not been stressful at all. I highly recommend Dr. Alford and his staff.

Negative experience: The dentist is great, staff is great, and usually the hygienist is great. I don't know what happened this time, but the hygienist was absolutely terrible. He didn't seem like he's ever seen the inside of a mouth before.

After my childhood dentist retired, it seemed like every time I went in, the dentist was just looking for something wrong to get me to have something more done than my cleaning. I was pleasantly surprised when I went in for my first cleaning and was told that I didn't need anything further. I now actually find myself looking forward to going in every six months for my cleaning and check up because I know I can trust what I'm being told about my oral health.

I want a dentist for my family and I thats going to be around a long time and this is the office. A family atmosphere that you don't feel as if though your just another number in line that they are going to charge your insurance and move on. When I was feeling completely defeated trying to figure out why my newborn was experiencing extreme gas, fussiness and constantly spitting up, she came into the office on her day off to exam him and confirmed he had both a lip and tongue tie and released them that day. Fantastic experience: We have been to a several dentists due to them not being a fit or our dentist moving or changing ownership etc. Jackie is by far the best. She is patient, kind, smart, and communicative. My kids had some cavities this summer and some ended up being deeper than was anticipated. I was a little worried that it would be sore for my son for a while but it was only a day, and not that bad. She is so skilled and her dental assistant is wonderful too. The front office is pleasant as well. Very grateful to have found this office.

Negative experience: I made an appointment for my son about two months ago. This involved making a username, and filling out thirty minutes worth of paper work. They had me confirm my appointment twice. A few hours after I confirm for the second time they send me a message saying they have to reschedule us because their doctors won’t be in the office. I get it, sometimes schedules change. However, when I called to reschedule the only options they gave me were a time slot I was not able to make work and then ones greater than two months out. In a good business model If you reschedule a patient’s appointment last minute you really should try to accommodate them in an expeditious manner. Maybe it’s a blesssing in disguise not going to these guys if this is the type of respect they have for a patients time?

Fantastic experience: Dr Alford is fantastic! As a confirmed “big baby “ when it comes to the dentist I can assure you he is gentle and calming as well as thorough. The entire staff is amazing.

Fantastic experience: I brought my three kids here after not feeling comfortable with the treatment I received at a different dental practice and I simply cannot recommend Dr. Jackie enough! My almost 5 year old just underwent his first dental treatment and he is asking when we can go back because he loves it there so much! Dr. Jackie and her staff are incredibly compassionate and knowledgeable. They go out of their way to make the kids comfortable and take the fear out of going to the dentist. Dental care is so expensive these days and Alford makes everything affordable, also helping with the dental anxiety!

Fantastic experience: Wonderful practice! We had a dental emergency with my 4 year old and they were able to get us in the same day as a new patient. The staff was super accommodating, and did so well prompting my little one on what to expect. Dr. Jackie did a phenomenal job explaining and executing what was needed to end the pain. I feel so much better now having a plan moving forward towards optimal dental care. I also really appreciate the check up phone call post appointment. Fantastic experience: I took my daughter to Dr. Jackie for a second opinion back in November 2024. She did not disappoint ! Her and her staff are phenomenal! My daughter absolutely loves going there and is fun for her every time. They do an amazing job cleaning her teeth. They also sent her a bday card in the mail with a sticker and she loved it. Fantastic experience: Dr. Jason Alford and his staff are very kind, caring, attentive and made me feel very comfortable during my visit. The moment I walked through the door I got a very calming feeling and was welcomed by the ladies at the front desk. The assistant (I’m so sorry I forgot her name but she was amazing and is usually Dr. Jackie’s assistant over at pediatric) was super friendly and easy to talk to and asked me questions about what concerns I had. I originally went there because I wanted to get a second opinion on the treatment that was needed prior to getting ortho and my mom highly recommended them. When Dr. Jason Alford came in I immediately felt like I was in great hands. He was funny, friendly, personable and did my exam and told me that I am ready for ortho! I was so relieved because I received a $7k treatment plan from a previous dentist which was a little shocking to me. So when he told me that all I needed was a crown which can wait till after ortho I was really happy that I decided to go see him and saw for myself what a great Doctor he is! With the way times are today, everything is so expensive and it’s all about money nowadays. It was nice to see that that’s not what this practice is all about. And after not having a dentist for a while, I was very lucky and grateful to have been referred to him and I won’t go anywhere else. Thank you to everyone I met..and to Dr. Alford, - you have a wonderful practice and I appreciate your honesty and help, you made me so happy and put me at ease.

Fantastic experience: To say that this is a great dentist would be an understatement. On the morning of New Years Eve, my daughter wrecked on her hoverboard and knocked out two baby teeth and loosened her top front two permanent teeth. It was extremely traumatic and I knew right away I needed to get her to the dentist. I called them and they were able to get her in within hours for an emergency visit. Again, this was New Years Eve so they were planning on closing early but agreed to stay late to help us. Several x-rays later, they helped her get comfortable and put a splint on her teeth to keep them in place while they heal up. Dr. Jackie and all of her staff were beyond kind, helpful and did not seem rushed the whole time even though I knew we were the last ones there. She took the time to explain everything in detail and go over recovery instructions thoroughly a couple times. She even called the next day to check on my daughter (New Years Day!). We have been taking our daughters here for the last few years and have always loved them but this just solidified the fact that they are the best dentist office in the area! They even worked with us on payment since we don’t currently have dental insurance. I am beyond grateful to them and it is refreshing to know there are still doctors out there doing this for the right reasons and who truly care about the patient, not about the money they’re going to make off the visit. Like I said, this was an extremely traumatic experience but with their help, it made the situation so much easier to deal with. We will continue going to them for as long as they are here and will recommend them to absolutely everyone we know!!

Fantastic experience: First let me say that Dr. Alford did not ask me to write this review as part of a promotion or discount. With that being said, I honestly want to say that Dr. Alford is without a doubt the best dentist I have seen in my past 60 years. I have been a patient of his for 4-5 years, and every visit has been professional and he has knowledge that many other less qualified dentist can only hope to achieve. I had 3-4 crowns installed, several cleanings, and even had one tooth pulled that was beyond repair. Dr. Alford doesn’t try to talk you into any procedure or process, he simply states the facts based on his expertise and outstanding understanding what may be best for you. On top of that he is a veteran that served our country, and I can only imagine that all of the service men and women that he served were truly sorry to see him leave. Dr. Alford is not some type of corporate dentist that works for a chain, but simply an amazing family practice dentist that he and his wife run to serve our community. If you are looking for the best dentist in Reno, Dr. Alford is the number one choice that I would recommend to anyone.

Fantastic experience: They are kind, gentle, knowledgeable. Everything you want in a dentist. But I’m most impressed by Dr. Alford’s ability to build a relationship with each patient. Makes it a lot easier to go to the dentist.

Fantastic experience: I don't know dentistry, but I do know connections. Much of my dental history reads like some sort of twisted experimentation, perhaps the reason I have gone more than a decade without a visit. Today, I felt the connection I had always been missing. Olivia was immediately helpful and inviting over the phone from the minute they opened, to ensure I was able to keep my appointment. I've already forgotten my hygienist's name - do forgive me - who was not only kind and considerate to me but did not treat my mouth as if it were a place to mine for heavy elements. And Dr. Jason was not only personable (I will definitely let my artist know you approve of the hair and you can let whomever know of my envy for the beard), but offered solutions that seemed far more reasonable and, despite the cost, lasting. If you're looking to save a few dollars on your dental health, you can always find a better deal elsewhere. As for me, I'll be sticking with the better dentist.

Fantastic experience: We still love this office. My husband and I got braces back in October and they were very careful when doing our 6month cleaning. We got some good recommendations on what more we could do to keep up our oral hygiene especially with the braces. Our 2 year old came with us and they were amazing with him as well and even let him pick out some stickers.

Fantastic experience: I love the Alfords and their incredible staff! We travel over 35 miles to see them for our dental care. They are superb with the rambunctious toddlers and I love getting my teeth looked after there as well! Kind and personable staff and they remember who you are! It feels like going back to see old friends every time we go in. Their facility feels open and modern and is always clean. I just wish there were more places like this in the healthcare field but they are truly unique.

A few decades ago, I had a excruciatingly painful and disastrous experience at another dentist in my early 20's. I'm not proud to admit, but ever since that experience a few decades ago, I am very leary and get dreadful anxiety when going to the dentist. Fast forward to the present, a very trusted and close person to me recommended Alford Dentistry, and I'm so glad she did! Dr. Jason Alfrod and his team were aware that I had an inordinate amount of reluctance and uneasiness when going to the dentist. I had a long and difficult dental repair/crown in front of me due to the way my tooth broke, however I had a great experience. The team was extremely accommodating and I was actually able to relax and be at ease through the procedure. The practice is a very clean, nicely appointed space. The people were very friendly, and the end result on the work I had done feels like it couldn't have been done any better. Highly recommend this Dental office and Dr. Jason Alford!

Fantastic experience: Great office, patient with children. They had suggestions we went with to avoid filling my 6yo's cavities. I was really grateful that we didn't have to do a dental surgery. The dentist kindly answered all my questions, including what could happen if we just ignored the cavities since they're in baby teeth (can get infected, can spread to neighboring permanent teeth as they come in, teeth can break apart). I appreciate how they avoid scary language like "shot" or "drill" and they make it a fun place to visit.

Fantastic experience: She is the best doctor so far I met. She is very patient, very friendly and talked to my kids every steps that she is going to do, and why and how. My boys and my husband and me just love her the doctor and all the staffs there.

Fantastic experience: Always such a pleasant experience! The front office staff is incredibly sweet and very knowledgeable regarding insurance and billing. The assistants are so sweet to my children. They are great at accommodating more than one child at a time. Dr. Jackie is not only a fantastic dentist, but also great at remembering our family and details that we shared last time we were there. You feel like family when you walk in the door.

Fantastic experience: UPDATE : Three years later and we're still enjoying excellent care from both the wonderful dentists and dental hygienists. Myself, husband and son(4) daughter (2) all have an pleasant experience everytime we go. My son has absolutely no fear of going to the dentist due to all his positive experiences there and looks forward to showing Dr Jacquie his "good brushing." My toddlers were easily cajoled into opening their mouths despite initial apprehension and the examination was painless for all. I look forward to having the team at Alford look after my family and my teeth for years to come. We had a wonderful experience here. Mom and Dad were checked out by Dr Jason and our 8 month old son was seen by Dr Jacquie. Both the doctors, the dental assistant, Karen and Jamie on front of house, had a friendly and professional manner. Extra effort was put into sorting out a minor issue with our insurance. We were put at ease and our son's first experience of the dentist super positive, setting him up for a lifetime of good habits. This practice is the definition of a family run business and made our family feel right at home. We would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Alford and his staff provided an excellent experience. After having had a previous experience that was not ideal, I was reluctant to find a new dentist that I could trust. Luckily a colleague recommended this practice to me and I can’t say enough amazing things about the team. Dr. Alford took the time to explain the details of what my treatment plan was and the “why behind the what”. I have had zero insurance issues or overbillings. I can tell the staff take pride in their work and genuinely care about the patients. Great job!

The whole team always greets us by name, and the doctors always remember little details about us as a family that make going there feel so comfortable and make us feel a part of their own extended family. My husband and I highly recommend this dental practice, even 3 years later. Dr Jacqueline and Dr Jason Alford are the best! I trust Dr. Jacqueline to answer any dental question I have for my 2 year old, including tips on how to make brushing little teeth easier. She is so friendly and welcoming my toddler had a great first dental experience. Both myself and my husband see Dr. Jason and couldn't be happier. He is honest and clear about any dental issue. The staff is friendly and the office itself is immaculet! Anyone who visits this dental office will be pleased with their experience.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful family practice! Dr. Jackie is always going above and beyond to accommodate my kids in any way possible, always explains the process and what to expect to both the parents and children. Office staff are very friendly, almost like family. Any issues with insurance or such, and they are most willing to work with you. Highly recommend. We have moved as a military family from place to place, but nothing compares to the personable, caring environment this family practice will provide each and every appointment. My kids are always looking forward to their check up (surprisingly):)!!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been very fortunate to have been in the regular care of a dentist my whole life. I’ve done the preventive cleanings, twice a year, since I was too young to remember, and I’ve transferred dentists across the US. Nevada was so so weird. I first moved to Las Vegas, and my dental cleanings were beyond tedious, with twice as many x-rays and bizarre instrumentation. When I expressed my dislike of the deluge of imagery for EVERY VISIT, the dental office told me I either agreed to it or they wouldn’t see me. I work in healthcare, so I fell down a hole of standards of care. I couldn’t find any health mandates or regulation to justify it, but I respect the comfort level required by each dentist to adequately perform their job. Nonetheless, I felt it wasn’t a good fit for me. When I moved to Reno, I originally received care in Carson City because they squeezed me in fast, and it was just like Vegas. I hated it. Once my new insurance kicked in, I found Alford simply because it was so conveniently located and in network. And I’m so glad I did. I have been thrilled with my care. I don’t know how else to describe it other than “normal.” I feel like my oral health is in great shape and in good hands, and I love their staff and the reminders they always send out. I’m so forgetful, so it’s awesome that they stay on top of that for their patients. I highly recommend their office!

Fantastic experience: This office is beyond exceptional. Every employee is kind and personable! They get us in quick and even so last minute sometimes. I know I can call and get an appt when it is needed, with no wait or hassle. Dr Jackie is by far the best dentist I have ever experienced and she is so good with kids. Her patience with our kids is admirable. She knows exactly how to speak to them, she’s quick and efficient, and gives great advice. Also, the office picks out some pretty cool toys for the kids to leave with. My son always leave with a little extra too! I can’t say enough! Highly highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I have never been to a new dental clinic, but this one is very good at treating their patient. Their clinic for both dentists and their staff are very friendly, and caring, they will take the time to get to know you first and to see what the most bothering you most when it comes down to your teeth. They are very gentle when working with your kid's teeth and also with grown-ups. Their office may be new but there is plenty of room to grow. I like them already and inside of their office and patient room, they have entertaining tv on top of the ceiling while they are working on your teeth. Their office and clinic are safe, and well sanitized, with social distancing, and face coverings. Yeah, I would recommend their service to anyone, and I highly believe as their company grows and expands, I guarantee they will succeed in the long hall.

Positive experience: It was my first dental check-up in a while. The staff was very generous and informative; from checking-in to detailed explanations of future work-ups, they providing all the information I needed! Dr. Alford was very meticulous, friendly, and gentle; he made this appointment that I have been worrying about a smooth process and took care to not cause any unnecessary pain or concern. His dental assistant should try to emulate this; she conducted herself in a rushed manner and was not as gentle when cleanings were done. Looking forward to the next appointment.
