Positive experience: We are having a great experience with Dr. Milstein. Our older daughter just got her braces off after a couple of years, and our younger daughter has a couple of years to go. It's a convenient location for Granite Bay families, especially those living near the lake. I only wish that it would be easier to get after-school time slots for appointments. That aside, the staff is friendly and skilled at their trade, and Dr. Milstein is a caring, compassionate provider who answered all my questions before we decided to go with her. Now a couple years into this process with two kids, I'm so glad we did.

Fantastic experience: We were referred by our dentist to another orthodontic office, but after doing our own research, we decided to choose this clinic — and we are so happy we did! From the very first minutes, we loved the friendly and welcoming staff and the way everything was explained to us during the consultation. Everyone has been kind, professional, and attentive throughout the whole process. Our daughter first had an expander placed, and she has now started her braces treatment. We have been very happy with the care she has received so far and feel very comfortable knowing she is in good hands. We highly recommend this orthodontic clinic to other families! Negative experience: Initially, I came to this office a year ago for lower-teeth orthodontic treatment only and was quoted around $4,700. ​After completing my periodontal treatment, I returned with clearance from top state periodontists for the lower teeth only. However, this office pushed me to treat both jaws. Although the price was already high and I have other major dental expenses, I agreed because I wanted to resolve all my dental issues and put an end to this ongoing nightmare. ​The doctor's consultation lasted less than two minutes. Without time to pause, reflect, or ask questions, I felt pressured to sign the contract and pay the deposit. ​Later, realizing the potential risks to my upper teeth—such as bone loss and very old root canals—I sent a detailed email outlining my history and concerns about moving those teeth. After that email, their communication completely stopped. When I followed up to ask about timeframes so I could schedule other dental procedures, I was ignored. This was a stark contrast to how responsive and attentive they were before I paid the deposit. ​It feels for me like this office is entirely business-oriented, prioritizing profit over patient well-being. They pushed an upsell during a rushed two-minute consult, ignoring complex medical risks. When you pay $6,500 out-of-pocket, you deserve doctor time, transparent communication, and respect—not to be treated like a wallet on an assembly line. Ultimately, I had to cancel the contract and request due to their complete lack of follow-up and care.

Negative experience: save your money and don’t go here. So disappointed with the results after paying multiple thousands of dollars for Invisalign’s Expressing multiple times to doctor and other staff that I don’t feel like my teeth aren’t “ready yet” they just ended treatment and gave me the retainers. I told the doctor that im not happy because my bottom teeth aren’t even straight yet they would make some excuses. When I first came in they told me the treatment will take three years but now somehow after not even two years I’m done with treatment, still paying them money and not satisfied with results.

Negative experience: very sad that not all your employees are trained the same way. last year l wanted to use my Denta Dental insurance the same way l used with my son. but when l used with my Daughter the Manager in charged Galina, used my Insurance in a different way. She made me pay for the whole transaction,$250 deducted from my paycheck every month. she told me that my insurance would send me a check every 4 months for $143.00 dollars. with my son l only pay like $3800, and the rest the insurance paid for the rest.

Fantastic experience: I was very happy with our experience at Marina Milstein. My daughter is 11 years old and unfortunately still has a thumb-sucking habit. We had been going to a different orthodontist for several years for my son and that doctor was very pushy about seeing her every 6 months even though I repeatedly told her I would book an appointment if my dentist recommended it. She literally made the appointments anyway and I always called to cancel it. I felt like I was bringing a cow to a butcher. In regards to her thumb sucking habit, the other ortho's answer was repeatedly "I'll just throw braces on her right now and that will stop it" - mind you - braces not to fix her teeth but to stop the thumb sucking - she never had a formal consultation exam there. I went to Marina Milstein for a consult after my dentist finally did refer me and they didn't even want to talk about giving her braces - the only concern was stopping the habit before she ruins her teeth (thankfully she still has a beautiful smile and the damage is minimal). They advised an appliance that fits in her mouth that is intended to stop her from putting her thumb in her mouth, nothing else. This was an AFFORDABLE solution compared to full-on braces. They aren't going to even consider a consult for braces until we are sure this habit is broken. They also do not accept our insurance but still priced me the same as if they do and they had a financing plan so I'll have this paid off in a few months. Finally - the appliance works!!! She has not put her thumb in her mouth ever since (that was a month or so ago). They suggested she keep it on for 6-9 months, but honestly I think I'm going to make her go for a year if we can. It's very hard to break a habit you've had since you were a baby and so easy to regress to something that's comforting if she gets upset. I'm bringing my son there next month for a 2nd opinion as well.

Fantastic experience: My brother referred us to Marina Milstein for our son's orthodontic care. Our experience has been very good. Dr Milstein is welcoming and professional and so are her staff members. The office is very clean and modern. They have accommodated us regarding our need to travel some distance to the Granite Bay office with virtual check-ins. After only a few months an obvious change can be seen in position of our son's teeth and correction of his bite. We are looking forward to seeing our son's continued orthodontic results which have been excellent thus far.

The Dr is professional and friendly, they were always on time with my appts, regular reminders on appts, flexibility making changes to appts and always made me feel taken care of. I got my braces off yesterday and though they were short staffed they put a rush on my retainers which I was able to pick up some day.
