Fantastic experience: I have literally cried for joy and deep gratitide over my visit into this office and the excellent 'beyond anything imagined' special care I recieved from everyone from start to finish in this dental office. Ive had some very traumatic experiences in my dental history.. and I just have never experienced the complete peace that seems to bathe this place and the people here, from the front desk, to assistants, to the dentist himself and the technicians. The softness and kindness and compassion of heart and character is deeply experienced and the delicate, detailed and expert care.. extremely thorough, yet incredibly gentle., is beyond compare. I left with my mind and body wondering why I had ever been nervous and anxious at the dentist in the first place. This place wipes out a lifetime a trauma. I know it was a gift of God to of had the blessing to come here and recieve care. :) Just WOW! What a healing and wholesome experience. I not only experienced kindness beyond the which I can put into words, but also a much deeper healing and restoration to my soul has taken place. I thank God for this practice, Dr. Tomoda and his assistant (I will update with her name cause she was so wonderful too! And I'll add more names as I continue my care there. ❤️ This isn't just the kind of place that you know you will never leave to go somewhere else, after youve experiencd it., it's the kind of place you want to shout from the mountain tops so that every one else can also experience the healing and peace and total amazing care that you did. Thank you to everyone here! You all showed me such excellent care and such kindess.. My heart overflows with gratitude ~~~ Ok after having one whole side of my teeth done today.. I have decided this must be the best practice and dentist on the planet. Dr Tomoda was incredibly skillful. From the numbing to the building up of my teeth., I felt ZERO pain! I almost fell asleep twice. Lol. And He explained throughout what he was doing and he has such a calming and kind way about him. Being in this office and under the care of this dentist and those that also assisted him (Karla last week and and Juliana today).. literally feels like therapy for my soul. Literally dental trauma is no longer a thing and they are healing pathways in my brain with signals that remind me throughout the entire experience that it's all gonna be great and "hey".. you really can relax. And by the end I walked out with a flawless joyful smile and teeth that dont bring me pain and that I can eat with again!! I loooove this place! They are SO accommodating and conscientious of your needs, the place is state of the art and beautiful and they have all the most amazing tools and high tech also. You feel like your being showered with special care. The woman at the front were SO nice too! Offering me water and so kind and sharing in my happiness. I cant thank yall enough!!!! ~~~~~~~~After my 3rd visit I wanted to share that Dr Tomota and his assistant Abby really did a beyond phenomenal job with me. I was especially touched and drawn in by the pure excellence ✨️ of Dr Tomota's work and his way of explaining and doing his expert work. He triggers a love for learning and discovery through his pure joy and passion for his work and his deep knowledge of the interworkings of the smallest details you wouldn't have ever though of that domino into other parts really creating a masterpiece experience and work of excellence I havnt even close, experienced in all my life. I dont know if I already mentioned but the way he forms and rebuilds teeth is incredible! They look and feel so perfect and I can even floss between all the teeth he rebuilt on the entire bottom side. I never imagined i would be able to floss! In my life, I've had a single tooth done before and was left with edges that cut my mouth and tongue when done by other dentists, but everything Dr tomota did is flawless and smooth, and I have a perfect bite now too. Im so grateful for these experiences and truly honor this Dr, his expertise and work.

Fantastic experience: My husband broke a tooth when we first moved here 3 years ago. A friend recommended Marks Family Dentistry and they got him in immediately. Dr. Matthew was able to glue the broken tooth back together and it looks great. We decided to continue receiving care here due to their friendly and responsive nature in addition to clinical expertise. Dr. Matthew replaced an old crown for me last year and even took time to personally call in follow up to see how I was doing. He is great! Natalie is a terrific hygienist! She is gentle, thorough, and a genuinely caring person. I highly recommend this practice!

I have had a couple of cleanings and 1 implant done and Dr. Brandon was amazing and walked me thru the whole process and answered all of my questions. Their staff from checking in, to the dental assistants and hygienist and checking out have been nothing but amazing, friendly and welcoming. I am so glad I made the switch!!!!!

I have moved all across the country and back, and now see his son Aaron. The level of care and compassion and drive to consistently innovate their practice over the years are just a few of the reasons I keep coming back!

Negative experience: Don’t go! Not the place to go unless you want your billing blamed on u, when it’s there job to verify that insurance. the billing department will twist the conversation to make it to be that its ur fault the insurance did not go through and that it’s YOUR job to call and resolve it. I’ve never had a doctor nor dentist tell me to call myself when it’s there job to verify all this information. And no I’m not gonna drop it nor let this one go. Because they sent me the full bill to me. This place is so wrong on so many levels. I tried to work with them and they don’t want to work with me. On a good note the dentist and other staff are amazing they did amazing job on my teeth and very nice except for the billing department who do not know how to do their job.***Edit. 12/13/25. Couple months after all this and they are still holding me liable for there mess up. Do not go people. In order for you to have work done now through them you need a deposit. Good luck if you do go.

Negative experience: If you want preventive dentistry to protect your molars go to another dentist! If you need a root canal go to a specialist! Actually outside lab crowns looked way better then there ugly in office crowns do. They caused the loss of my good molars by drilling to nerve causing terrible pain they ripped me off 1,000 bucks for crown I could not keep on because of him drilling it off and too deep. He did not know what the heck he was doing and was arrogant. My molar was fine before I went in to fix another molar issue that Brandon caused left me in pain covered over molar. Thinking the father could fix nope made things worst. Was ripped off literally 1,000 bucks and to the(T) teeth! Unprofessional professional Dad n Son team was money hungry and caused loss of good molars that any other dentist could of done if I would of never chose that dental office. The helicopter secretaries should wait when patient is done then patient comes up to desk like normal.

All the staff are knowledgeable and do a great job keeping up with the latest technologies and techniques, but the atmosphere is like being with friends and family while you are there. From the front desk team, to the Dental Hygienist right up to the Father, his son's and other dentist I've not yet had a thing to complain about. On my latest appointment Natalie, my Hygienist and Dr Brandon Mark's took great care of me. The technology they use here is amazing. They have a TV screen over your head and a small camera they can show you exactly what a cavity looks like before they fix it. I've had 2 crowns done here as well. Same day service, digitally scanned, made on a C@C machine, fired, then put in place in about 2 hours. Looking forward to being in their care for years to come.

I was seen for an emergency and everything from treatment needed to the treatment plan cost were explained right up front. I just came in this week for my cleaning with Stephanie. She is amazing! She was very thorough and went over everything she was going to be doing during the new patient appointment. I have told everyone about this office!

The knowledge and passion they have is unmet! Gerry did my hygiene appointment today and was thorough not only with the cleaning but also my oral cancer screening & the assesment of my gum health. Dr. Brandon was timely and thorough with my exam. I also love the slideshow that plays so you can learn more about the education and background of the employees and also pick up interesting dental facts! 10/10

He efficiently fixed my chipped tooth the same day I went in for a quote, and I'm so pleased with his expert, careful work. To be honest, we used to live in Mechanicsville though now live in Chesterfield, which is a sold 40-minute drive. My visit with Dr. Tomoda and Clara is one more reason why I choose to keep Marks Family Dentistry and make the commute...it's worth it!
