Fantastic experience: After chipping a part of my crown/bridge, I called Dr Sjogrens office hoping to get in within a day or two to have it looked at. I was able to get in the next day. Fearing the worst and the possibility of having to replace the bridge I was happy to hear it had an easy fix, it took just a few minutes and I was on my way. I’ve been going to him for over 20 years and I’ve been pleased with my experiences and dental care.

I’ve had multiple crowns done, and they look fantastic! Dr. Sjogren’s staff mimic his personality & skill set - especially his hygienists. The office works with you financially if you’re in need of major dental care, and the environment is highly sterile and clean as a whistle. Fantastic experience: It was Friday night and my bridge fell out. I called the office first thing Monday morning and they were able to work me in by 12 o’clock that day. After Dr. Sjogren examined the area where the bridge fell out, he explained to me why it was not possible to re-cement my bridge back in place. Yes, I was disappointed that he couldn’t put my bridge back in, but I did appreciate him referring me to a specialist. Having seen Dr. Sjogren in the past and been very happy with the results, I would highly recommend him.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely hate going to the dentist, hadn't gone in four years. These guy made the whole experience as painless and pleasant as possible. All of the staff are incredibly kind and helpful and the Dr was likewise skilled and efficient. I had three fillings and a wisdom tooth pulled in under half an hour. What's more, the fillings were all along my lower gum line, which had chipped away. Now, they look perfect, indistinguishable from the other side. I've been self-conscious about it for years. I'd asked my old dentist if there was something they could do about it and they said they couldn't because of there location. This was also the cheapest dentist visit I've ever had. They got everything worked out with my insurance. I've paid more for basic cleanings elsewhere. I literally could not be more pleased with this visit.

Fantastic experience: This has to be the best dental office in Kansas City. I’ve been a patient 30 years. Today I had a cap come off my tooth and Kylee (dental technician/business manager) attended me. She is always so great ..very personable and real. She and Heather worked together and asked me questions. Kylee determined that when I grind my teeth I was putting intense and consistent pressure and stress on that one tooth. She was able to shape the point of contact so there is no stress when I try grind my teeth. She is a true professional and perfectionist and always cares about having a job done exactly right.

Negative experience: I have been a patient at this office for over 20 years, always on time, and have never had an issue. I drive 30 minutes each way because I have always trusted and appreciated the care, until now. During my most recent visit, the weather was bad, and I arrived exactly 10 minutes late. Their own policy allows a 10-minute grace period. Despite this, I was told I could not be seen and was even threatened with a $50 late fee. After two decades as a loyal patient, this was incredibly disappointing, especially since I have never been late before and often wait past my scheduled time when I arrive to my appointments. It’s worth noting that much of the long-standing staff has left, and the new team seems to lack the understanding and empathy that used to make this office exceptional. Sadly, after more than 20 years, both my husband and I will be finding a new provider.

Fantastic experience: The Doctors and their staff team have always taken good care of me for 10+ years...regular cleanings, crowns only when necessary, etc. They treat you like a patient by caring about you as a person for long-term dental care with a variety of levels of services and products to take care of your teeth and gums.

Positive experience: The hygienist was very nice though I didn’t feel she gave me an adequate cleaning. Also, the sprayer on the water jet was leaking and my shirt was very wet. This was a new hygienist. The dentist is very friendly and good to work with.

Fantastic experience: I arrived early and when my appointment time came I got right on time. My examination and teeth cleaning was done by a very professional and pleasant young lady. She made the procedures of examination and cleaning thorough and with continuing regard to my comfort. She was obviously an experienced, knowledgeable and caring person. When she was finished, she went to notify Dr Sjogren that I was ready for him to see me. Krissy was the best hygienist and did a thorough cleaning and inspection of my teeth. Although I only saw Dr. Sjoren for a few minutes, which is a good thing, he seemed like a great dentist. The entire staff was warm, caring, friendly and professional. The office is clean and nicely decorated. I felt welcomed in this space. And they saw me right away, not like the last dentist in Olathe who made me wait an hour for a 10 minute cleaning. I will definitely go back and already made my 6 month appt!

Fantastic experience: I don’t usually leave reviews, but the service at Show Your Grin was exceptional. I hope more people discover them, and I wish them continued success—they truly deserve it! My 10-year-old son broke a baby molar at school, and I was terrified that it might cause him pain. Show Your Grin was able to see us within 30 minutes. I understand that this availability may have been due to a cancellation, but the receptionist was extremely kind and understanding. When we arrived at the office, it felt more like a cozy living room than a typical dentist’s office. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, not at all like the traditional, intimidating dental environment. My son is on the spectrum, and the dental hygienist, Ms. Katie, was extra gentle and kind to him. We’re so grateful for her care. Dr. Douglas Sjogren was amazing. He reassured us that the broken tooth was just a baby tooth, and the adult tooth was coming in. There was no need to worry or traumatize my son with an extraction—nature would take its course. His kindness and care were a huge relief. We recently moved to the area from out of state, and my husband doesn’t want to miss work, nor does my son want to miss school. Otherwise, I would have chosen Show Your Grin as our family’s dental care provider forever!

Negative experience: I used to go to show your grin dental for years and moved. Then recently reconnected with them. I'm not sure what culture changed since then as I was spammed multiple times over text regarding new appointment times. I messaged them a previous day at 4pm with my appointment being the next day at 2pm? That I couldn't make the new appointment time (as they were trying to move my appointment up) and to go ahead and cancel my appointment the next day. I was then informed I would still be charged 50$ for said cancelation that occured 22 hours prior on the previous day because it was "within 24 hours". Mind you 50$ is more than it cost to get a cleaning and perform xrays with insurance. I find this problem could have easily been resolved with management that respected its customers. I won't be coming back to this place.

Fantastic experience: Way cool, way friendly, and way professional. Wife, Tracy saw Dr. Sjogren. She has dental phobia, and had 3 crowns, and fillings. She said was painless, and was put at ease by friendly informative staff. Was her best dental experience ever, and will never go elsewhere. I had 7 fillings, 2 crowns, and more to do, and has been totally painless. I saw Dr. Hughes, and was best dental experience I've ever had. Rosalind, and Beth assisted, and were both two of the most informed, kind, and courteous I've experienced. Caylee is super cool, and will answer ALL questions. Never a long wait, and all charges explained in full. Every aspect of Show Your Grin dental has been awesome, and the entire staff gets way thumbs up. I would recommend to anyone, and going anywhere else would be a mistake.

Negative experience: After one of the worst attempts at teeth cleaning I've ever had, Sjogren came in, looked at the x-rays and said you have a serious problem. The bridge and crown work he put in just 2 years earlier had to be redone. He probably spent less than 60 seconds in the room and left with no explanation. I left 2 messages trying to find out more but they went unanswered. The five star staff everyone loved left and what remains is production line dentistry at its worst. When considering this dentist you would be best to remember, "All that glitters is not gold".

She listens to concerns and answers questions and creates a care plan addressing my issues. Dr Sjogren answered my questions and gave me options for my care. Fantastic experience: The team at Show Your Grin Dental is always so warm and welcoming. Even when I received news I wasn’t expecting (braces!) they were helpful and informative to make sure I knew all my options and could proceed with confidence.

Negative experience: Unfortunately I don’t intend to return here. My first experience was great, my second, not so much. My hygienist’s methods were odd and not by the book. He’d never even met me before and was suggesting my teeth were going to fall out in my 40’s or 50’s (absolutely the most drastic thing I’ve ever heard) The dentist was “too busy” to even see me at the end of my appointment. Overall couldn’t wait to leave. Will be on the hunt for a more professional dental office.

Negative experience: This office will waste your time and use up your yearly insurance deductibles with useless visits. The office is small and awkward (and sometimes smells weird). There is only one dentist on staff so you will receive all treatment except for major procedures with a random tech. The dentist himself looks like he dropped and bunch of weight (compared to his pictures on his website and hung everywhere in his office) and got Botox and a bad spray tan and is a very “arrogant” little man that will talk down to you like a child, make you feel uncomfortable and make you feel like a waste of his time. This office has lost sight of why they are in business in the first place and will make you feel like you are the lucky one to be PAYING THEM for and and receiving their services. Luckily there are a TON of other great dental offices in Olathe and Johnson county and I would highly recommend looking past this hole in the wall and finding a dentist that will NOT burden you financially and WILL make you feel comfortable and treat you with respect.

Fantastic experience: The service here is incredible. I had some dental issues that needed corrected. They suggested a periodontist. What a difference. The cleaning I had yesterday was the easiest I’ve had in recent memory. I would definitely recommend Dr Sjogren and his staff. Very honest. Dr Sjogren was up front with me regarding my issues and we put a plan together. He saved me from a lot of issues I would have experienced down the road.

With the state of the art equipment they have, the pain involved in old style dentistry is almost non existent, and the time involved for procedures is substantially decreased. I think SYGD has the best Staff, care, and respect for patients anywhere, and would recommend them as your one stop place for complete dental care.

Fantastic experience: I went here today for the first time and loved my experience. I left my previous dentist because I felt it was a “doc in the box” drive thru dentist. Get in and get out, oh and we need to do this for this much more money etc. I felt I got sound advice for future care, I didn’t feel rushed as they really talked to me, and they didn’t try to add more to make money- they care and even after recommendations- took time to confirm with my insurance costs while I was there. Oh- and my dental hygienist was a rock star. I came in very apprehensive and she made me feel at ease and look forward to seeing her again.

Fantastic experience: Every single employee there was amazing to work with- from the first email ( Deanna was extremely quick to reply and get me in same day) to the second I was walked out at the end. So calming for dental anxiety, so helpful and Kylee & Dr Sjogren were able to find an easy fix to pain other dentists told me I would need to live with. I was able to let all anxiety about the dentist go as they were supportive and non judgmental. My friend insisted I try them and I now feel the same for others.

Fantastic experience: Been with this office for about 6 years or so. Always been a great experience, and they are willing to fight with your insurance to get you what you need. The receptionist Natasha fought with my insurance for months to get my Night Guard covered. I always thought the name of the place was clever, it took me two years to figure out it was also a play on words for Dr. Sjogren too! Hah!

Fantastic experience: The dental team is great. Easy going, low key, no pressure. Deann is my dental hygienist and she is amazing. I think I do pretty good with keeping my teeth in shape, but we can all do better. Deann gives me tips and advice, but never feels the need to shame me into better dental care. She cleans them up, makes them look great and I'm thrilled to make the next appointment.

Fantastic experience: Wow each and every time i go in the office the scenery changes for the season which is great. Its so nice to be greeted every time i come in by there wonder receptionist. My hygienist is Deanna is she always tells its like it really and never sugar coats in. She is very professional and always ask me about my racing with puts a smile on my face. But i think she is going hang me if i don't get one of your new Sonicare brushes. So please vote me in and make me a winner. One last note Dr. Sjogren and hires the best looking hygienist in the state.

Fantastic experience: Great experience. The most friendly staff that made the experience a breeze.I was not looking forward to going to the Dentist but, I desperately needed too. Kylee was outstanding helping me every step of the way and I will be back for all of my regular cleanings and check-ups to make sure I can Show My Grin!

Fantastic experience: Some tell me I am a bit crazy, but this entire staff is so excellent that I travel all the way from Maine just to see them. This time I left with an extra smile after hearing about a sweet 7 year old boy who, in all seriousness, is asking Santa for a pearl necklace this year. ...a creative, free thinker to be celebrated--just like Show Your Grin!
