Overland Park Smiles

Negative experience: I normally don't do reviews but this situation needs to be brought up. I had a good experience my first time going here in March 2026. My 2nd appointment was unfortunately very concerning. I was scheduled for a cleaning on September 14, as i showed up, the door was locked and the lights were off, nobody around. I recieved no notification that my appointment was cancelled or that the office was closed. I drove 40 mins, called multiple times, and left a voicemail. They called back the next day to let me know i wasn't scheduled in their system, which is lie. I've attached the email confirming my appointment, I've still not recieved any answer as to why i wasn't notified after i emailed them my confirmation email. Sad situation all around. I'll be going elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Appointments are always on time. Office staff and assistants are friendly and welcoming! Dr. Ross is amazing, gentle and explains everything well.

Every time I visit OPS I am so pleased with the excellent care and kindness they provide. This is an amazing team. 5 stars every visit consistently!

I am very sensitive and need a lot of medication when getting a filling and we just used Novocain and I didnt feel a thing! I could not recommend any higher! Wonderful office staff, assistants and doctors.

Positive experience: Marci did a great job cleaning my teeth. Dr. Ross was very kind. The ex Ray's were fine on my front teeth but the ex Ray's on my back teeth were very painful. When I got home I had to take a pain reliever. I'm leaving this review to help me in upcoming visits and to hopefully help others.

Negative experience: I know I am a big part of the problem because I have a phobia about dentist and my teeth are riding. But I was let it go and made the appointments two weeks ago and today they sent me paperwork to fill out. I was mad about that because they waited until the day of my appointment. I have difficulty seeing and so it took me all day. And I put my insurance information two times and when I hit next, it disappeared. Then one of the girls called me and I gave her the insurance information. And I even scanned it from my phone. Then when I got to the office, they wanted the information again and I could not get it to come up on my phone. And I was frustrated and left. I pay for two dental insurance policies And none of the practices I find. Use the insurance I have. With my vision and other problems, I can’t go out and have trouble when I am out because of my vision and horrible back pain. The only reason I care about my teeth at all is that I don’t want to get into a medical emergency because of a toothache. I would like to be able to eat, but don’t care if I have a full set of teeth. I just want to have what I need.. And I need to call my insurance companies of which I have two for dental and have it out with them also.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Ross is very experienced, really pays attention, and takes your dental problems seriously. If something hurts, she figures out what it is and fixes it. The Dental Hygenists are thorough but don’t kill you poking around. Everyone there, from the front desk onward, are friendly and helpful!

Fantastic experience: I NO LONGER DREAD GOING TO THE DENTIST! The front desk staff are friendly, professional, and efficient. The hygienists are thorough and gentle. Dr. Ross is very knowledgeable, and she explains things clearly. I won't say that I ENJOY going to the dentist - but I no longer dread it.

Negative experience: I'm a new patient just had my 3rd cleaning but I feel like an ATM for the practice as they have "found " 2 crowns and now 4 fillings that need replacement. Beware when the dentist says "we've been watching (fill in the blank) for awhile. How can it been awhile when I have only been there 3 times.

Fantastic experience: As always, service was prompt, personal, and professional. I will miss Fran as hygienist and wish her the best in retirement. I also give a shout out to the ladies at the front desk who answered my questions regarding insurance.

She puts you at ease, explains every step of the procedure so that you will know what to expect and she does beautiful work. Her staff, from her assistants to the hygienists and her front office couldn’t be more helpful or personable. It goes without saying that the entire team is everything you want in a dentist’s office.

Fantastic experience: I came to Dr. Ross on a referral as an individual with a slew of past dental issues. Now, our entire family sees Dr. Ross. She is exudes experience, professionalism, integrity, and kindness. She really listens. I struggled with local anesthesia, as I don't get numb easily. It was a major source of anxiety when it came to any dental work. She made some alterations to the injections, and no more issues. She'll walk you through the x-rays explaining her diagnosis, discuss treatment options, and provides excellent referrals for specialists, when applicable. Incredible attention to detail and quality of work!

Positive experience: They were very kind but I was disappointed because they called me the day before my new patient appointment saying I needed to fill out my paperwork so I did and provided my insurance information. I went in and started my appointment only to learn they do not accept my insurance. I feel like they should have caught that before taking me back since I filled out my paperwork the day before. They were very nice and knowledgeable but having to pay for the appointment out of pocket was costly.

Every staff member was proficient in addressing their respective responsibilities with an extraordinary level of grace and professionalism. Perhaps most impressively, I was worked into an already busy schedule as my regular dentist was away and Dr. Woltkamp and his team welcomed me as though I had been a patient of theirs for years.
