Experiencia fantástica: Impeccable Concierge Service from Dr. Field and Susy F Went in to see Dr. Joseph Field in their Los Altos office on a recommendation, as I had wanted to explore doing a digital smile design and how it could improve my smile in color and shape of my teeth my late 60's. Their front office was warm, professional and polite. Susy F introduced herself as the Treatment Coordinator, and I had various x-rays taken on the first visit. I had 18 dingy old veneers and crowns, and nobody ever said I had a pretty smile. Plus I had problems with 2 upper jaw tooth implants that would bash into my lower teeth when eating sometimes, and it was very painful. Dr. Field came in, was very patient and took his time. He never spoke down to me but explained everything in a way I could understand easily as a layperson, which I really appreciated. He is dedicated to cosmetic dentistry and full mouth restoration. He was clearly passionate about being excellent in his approach and keeping up to date with learning new techniques. He answered every single one of my anxious emails and questions to such an extent that I felt both reassured and impressed with his knowledge, and relaxed. He suggested doing an additional 4 lower teeth, explaining that it would assist in ensuring my bite would be free of issues. Thank goodness I listened to him and agreed! They offered I.V. sedation, which is wonderful. Highly recommend it. I felt nothing while Dr. Field worked on the 10 upper teeth and 12 lower teeth, removing the existing veneers and crowns. During the 4 hour process, he found 8 cavities, 2 with pulp exposure, and fixed them. I didn't even know I had them! Evidently cavities don't show under existing veneers and crowns. The aftercare instructions from their office were very helpful. I slept sitting up for the first 48 hours, and also iced for the first 48 hours as directed. To reduce inflammation and elimiiate pain, I alternated using Advil gels and Tylenol extra strength tablets s needed for the first 7 days afterwards, basically staying in bed to rest and heal. I had no bruising, no swelling, no pain, and no jaw stiffness. My new permanent teeth are in now. My new smile combined BL2 and BL3 colors and the translucency is so natural looking! The shape of my teeth is better now too as the edges are straighter. After I saw the temporaries and we talked, I decided to even redo the 4 molars to make sure my bite was even better. Cannot recommend (PCCD) Dr. Field and Susy highly enough for their concierge approach and service. Most cosmetic dentists simply wouldn't bother - whereas Dr. Field goes out of his way. No 15 minute assembly line feel in their office at all. It was worth every single penny to his have skill and brain and approach to how to do things right for me as a patient. I feel so much more confident with my pretty smile and now healthy mouth and corrected bite! Thank you so very very much Dr. Field, Susy and team.

Astonishingly easy and painless, especially because I had 5 gorgeous new crowns installed and a tooth removed in the same visit. Even after the numbing wore off, I experienced only very slight discomfort, and while he pulled the tooth, I couldn't even tell. His equipment is top notch and makes everything go smoothly and quickly. He can use sedation, but I didn't and was by far the most relaxed and comfortable I have ever been in a dentist's chair. A remarkable experience and so much easier than I was expecting. His office is professional and relaxing, and the staff is excellent. Really can't recommend highly enough.

Hand paraffin wax. Excellent hygienists, so thorough and gentle. It’s quite evident they care about their patients and their work. I’ve never been up-charged for anything. Furthermore, Dr. Karl designed veneers for my front four teeth last year. It prevented the need for Invisalign treatment, while simultaneously resolving overcrowding. I can’t express how pleased I am with his work. My friends told me I shouldn’t and don’t need it, but they eat their words now. It’s like God gifted me with a naturally beautiful smile. Blended color gradients with shaping that looks innate, perfectly imperfect. Come here. Nowhere better.

Dr. Karl and his staff got me in right away - twice - to see what was going on and find a solution and bring me some pain relief. Everyone in the office was wonderful to me and I felt cared for and important. It all worked out well in the end, and I'm so grateful for Dr. Karl's expertise and good recommendations.

Experiencia negativa: I’ve been to Peninsula Center of Cosmetic Dentistry three times now, and honestly, it’s been a mix of really good experiences and really frustrating ones. When I first called to set up an appointment, the receptionist told me they accepted my HMO plan, but it turns out they only take PPO. That was the first sign I probably should’ve paid more attention to. After that, trying to get on their schedule became a whole process I didn’t expect. A week after booking, they called to reschedule because of a conflict. No big deal, I was flexible, so I went along with it. Then when I showed up, they told me my insurance didn’t actually qualify. I called my insurance right there, but I wasn’t in open enrollment, so I couldn’t change it. I decided to just go ahead and pay out of pocket for a routine cleaning. The hygienist and dentist were great — honestly, the care part of the visit was excellent, and everyone in the office was friendly and professional once I was there. But the scheduling side of things just kept being a mess. My next appointment (for a small cosmetic filling) was rescheduled twice, and not with much notice. It always felt last-minute, like they were calling just a couple days before or even the same day. From a patient’s point of view, that’s frustrating, especially when they charge a $50–$100 fee if you cancel or show up late. It doesn’t feel fair when it doesn’t go both ways. The last straw for me was this morning. They moved my care to the Los Gatos location since the Cupertino office was closing, so I drove 20 minutes for a 7am appointment. When I got there, they told me there was no doctor available and they had “tried to call.” I never got a call, and that’s basically an hour of my day wasted driving back and forth. I’ll be honest — the dentists are great, the hygienists are great, and the staff is nice. But the system they’re using to manage appointments and communication is just not working. There’s no real follow-up or accountability when mistakes happen. For a company of this size, that’s disappointing. If management reads this, I’d suggest putting some checks in place to make sure calls and messages actually go out, or even offering a small discount or credit when these things happen. That kind of gesture would go a long way. For anyone thinking about booking here: double check your insurance, and definitely call to confirm your appointment the day before. Once you’re in the chair, the care is great — but getting there smoothly has been another story.

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been going to PCCD since 2018 and have always loved it! I first started when I was living in Santa Cruz and would make the drive over the hill to Los Altos. Later, when I moved to Paso Robles, I tried a local dentist but quickly realized it was well worth the drive to keep going to PCCD — I literally made the 6-hour round trip for all my cleanings and dental work. That’s how much I trust and love this team! Now living in Marin County, I gave a local dentist a try again… and nope — PCCD is still the best! The office staff is accommodating, kind, and friendly, and the care from both the hygienists and dentists is consistently amazing. From replacing my 20-year-old veneers to placing an implant, they’ve been absolutely spectacular. My most recent experience with Dr. Pham was exceptional. I have osteoporosis and am about to begin a medication that can (rarely) impact the jaw. I’d been experiencing some jaw pain and was nervous to start the medication. The staff got me in right away to see Dr. Pham, who was so kind and thorough — he took the time to do a full exam and then literally sat with me for half an hour to talk through everything, making sure I understood and felt comfortable. I left the office confident and calm, with all my anxiety gone. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Pham and the entire PCCD team. Go here — they are the best!

One plus with this place is they have a computerized milling machine onsite, so no temp needed. Then Dr. Karl hits the perfect balance of explaining what he’s about to do but not being too chatty. The office is beautiful, and well appointed with the latest equipment and material in the field, and the staff (from the front office, to my hygienist, to the dentists overseeing care) are highly skilled, knowledgeable, kind, and caring. I first sought care for an impacted front tooth prior to my wedding 10 years ago, and the team mapped out a plan for me to cosmetically address my concerns, while also maintaining long-term oral health. I continue to feel cared for and prioritized, and have full trust that I'm in the very best of hands with PCCD!

From the moment I walked in, it was clear that this place prioritizes profits over patient care. The staff was rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. Instead of addressing my concerns, she seemed more interested in upselling unnecessary treatments. The office also has a habit of overcharging and adding hidden fees, which they conveniently ‘forgot’ to mention until after the procedure. When I questioned the charges, I was met with condescending remarks and zero accountability. The dentist seemed rushed, barely explained the treatment, and didn’t take the time to listen to my concerns. I left feeling unheard, overcharged, and completely dissatisfied with the service. If you value honesty, transparency, and professional care, avoid this place at all costs. There are plenty of ethical and patient-centered dental offices out there—this is NOT one of them.

The appointments have been easy to set up and the office is very welcoming. After leaving my hygienist appointment, I felt very relaxed and refreshed. I will be back in a few weeks to replace a couple fillings and early next year I am planning a few new crowns to keep my dental health in good condition. I really appreciate having a long-term plan to stay ahead of any problems.

Experiencia negativa: Staff is nice but the place is very expensive! I got charged $2,200 for a couple of fillings ($500 of which was for X-rays) and MetLife only covered $200 out of the $2,200. I have the highest dental plan within MetLife. I would advise against going here given there are plenty of other places that accept insurance! I didn’t really realize what I was getting into here. The other annoying point of friction was MetLife said they never received the claim from peninsula dental. I had to get both of them on the phone and peninsula dental had to resubmit the claim. They never submitted it in the first place looks like. It was also a huge waste of my time.

Dr. Karl Supal goes above and beyond with his patients. He is extremely thorough, professional and gentle with the treatment. They always ask if you’re ok all through. Dr. Karl is also very responsive by email. It’s good to have that reassurance that your dental provider cares about your well being during and after the process. Dr. Field and his team uses frontline technology to design your smile after the surgery, and you can give your feedback on the spot. Second visit will be the survey, after which you will have some temporary brittle veneers. Painful wait till the actual stuff because the temporary veneers break very easily. Final visit for the real veneers will put your best smile on your face. I have so much more confidence in my smile afterwards, my teeth look impeccable. I find everyone truly listens to m concerns (and fears). Each person be they staff or doc works to make dental medicine work for you. Each person ’s case reviewed and treated individually. Early on Dr Field worked out a way to for me to communicate with him while he was working with me. Twenty years later he still sees my hand go up for a break. He ALWAYS treated me with the utmost respect. My experience at PCCD is always easy and painless. I live on the east coast now and travel across country to see Dr. Field a couple of times a year for routine care or if there is a special need. Today I had 3 (yes 3!!) crowns placed in a few hours. It was a beyond perfect experience. Thank you Suzette for working out the schedule. Thanks to the front staff who are so pleasant and work hard to alleviate any anxiety from the moment you walk in the front door. Thank you Kathy who has been my hygienist forever and I adore her. It was not out of fear or anxiety about dental work; it was the fear of another filling, crown, or root canal. The amount of silver and crowns (with visible margins) had me embarrassed beginning in middle school. I became so disheartened and ashamed that my toothy smile disappeared. I was told my hygiene was good at each dental visit, but another crown or filling was needed. I was so frustrated that I stopped going to the dentist for over ten years. In 2020 The pain in my mouth became unbearable. Thinking I had no choice but to have all my teeth pulled, I went to a chain dental office that promised I would never have to worry about my teeth again. They would give me fixed dentures, and my troubles would be gone. Thankfully, the thought of having my teeth pulled terrified me! After an extensive search, I found Dr. Field, and, not to be dramatic, he changed my life. Not only is Dr. Field an outstanding dentist, but he's also an artist who transformed my teeth! The option of having sedation for some extensive appointments made a full month's restoration (almost) a breeze. Toward the end of my restoration, I saw what a perfectionist Dr. Field was with his work. He went above and beyond working with significantly damaged teeth to create a beautiful and healthy smile for me. Dr. Field understood more than I did that giving me back my smile would be life-altering. I often get compliments on my beautiful teeth. My confidence soared; I began to laugh and smile, not because of the compliments but because I shed the shame and insecurities of a lifetime. The best part is that I have healthy teeth and a lifelong dentist I trust!
