Experiencia negativa: I recently attempted to establish care as a new patient at this practice. I prefer a conservative, evidence-based approach to dental imaging, consistent with current ADA/FDA guidelines which prioritize individual clinical findings over routine, interval-based X-rays. I reached out to the office to schedule a standard cleaning and exam. I provided my dental insurance, periodontal charts (the most recent one performed 6 months ago in the periodontist's office), and full mouth X-rays series (that include bitewings images) from less than 24 months ago, and requested that we only proceed with new X-rays if my clinical exam were to show instability. I also specifically requested that the exam and cleaning be performed in one visit, as my insurance benefits are limited and require this for coverage. The office responded by stating that their policy for all adults is a mandatory, separate new-patient exam visit followed by a cleaning at a later date. Furthermore, they informed me that their policy requires new annual bitewing X-rays for all patients regardless of individual clinical stability. When I attempted to discuss this and inquire about a more conservative alternative, the office stood by their rigid, 'one-size-fits-all' protocol and was unwilling to accommodate my request to delay imaging or combine visits. While I am sure they provide standard care for some, this practice is not a good fit for patients who seek a conservative approach to diagnostics or who prefer to collaborate with their dentist on a personalized care plan. If you are looking for an office that prioritizes standard 'business-as-usual' protocols over individual patient preferences and needs, this may be the place for you. Otherwise, I would suggest looking elsewhere.
Thank you for sharing your feedback, Galina. I apologize that we were not able to come to an understanding regarding your first visit here in my office. To ensure that others who may be considering becoming a patient here have a clear and accurate picture of our New Patient Protocol, I will outline it here.
The first visit to my office is a comprehensive examination only, and is scheduled for 1 hour. The cleaning is not scheduled until after the new patient visit, as I first must assess the health of the teeth and gums to determine which type of cleaning is most appropriate for the individual patient. Not all cleanings are the same; some are preventive, some are treatment-based for active periodontal disease or stabilized periodontal disease. To determine a patient's cleaning type prior to completing a comprehensive examination would be a very "business-as-usual" approach. It also gives me the opportunity to gauge a patient’s comfort with dental treatment, and to see which one of our 4 excellent hygienists would be a good fit for the patient.
If dental radiographs are more than 1 year old or are not of diagnostic quality new dental radiographs are required at the comprehensive examination visit. Digital dental radiographs, while wonderful and expose the patient to less radiation than analog xrays, often lose resolution when transferred. It is vital to a patient's health that new radiographs are taken if needed. My administrative team is not qualified to determine if dental radiographs are of diagnostic quality, therefore they are sure to inform patients to expect new radiographs to be needed for the thorough and comprehensive examination. I do, of course, follow the ALARA principle. Therefore, after I establish that a patient has a low or moderate caries risk in accordance with CAMBRA, I am happy to reduce dental radiograph frequency.
My protocol may sound rigid, but patients can trust me to be thorough and provide an individualized approach to their care. I have found over a decade of caring for patients in my practice that if a potential new patient is not willing to trust me to complete a comprehensive examination that is thorough and tailored to their needs, we are not a good match. The doctor-patient relationship is an incredibly personal one, and I wish you the best of luck in finding the right provider for you!

Experiencia fantástica: As a new patient, I am very happy with my experiences. I've had 2 cleanings (which accommodated my request for air-polisher tool) and a Porcelain Onlay made in-house. Dr. Silvers is exceptionally personable and seems very competent. Staff is friendly and seem happy. Equipment seems state of the art. They offer a membership payment plan, which is a good program if you haven't seen a dentist in a while and need all x-rays.

Experiencia fantástica: My first visit with Dr. Silvers was about 18 months. Her first inspection showed multiple problems that she carefully explained; for which she set in place a program to address. I have now had a couple of fillings, two stand-alone crowns, a third crown tied to an adjacent implant, and an Invisalign retainer re-do. Each of these procedures was well done with a minimum of pain and at what I consider reasonable cost. More generally, her office is well-run, on-time with schedules and reminders, and has good hygienists. As an "extra" with Dr. Silvers --- she is always cheerful, positive and personable!

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Silvers is the gold standard in dentistry. She is very aware of the emotional aspects of patient care. My daughter came in after a biking accident where she had damaged to a few teeth. She coordinated and organized excellent care within her practice and other specialty doctors in the area that were needed. She goes above and beyond to make sure that everything is to the patients satisfaction. Experiencia fantástica: I've only been seen by Dr. Silvers once, but I can already attest that she's exceptionally attentive, caring and professional. Unlike other doctor's I've seen, she doesn't try to push any unnecessary or cosmetic treatments, but she has noted a few things like signs of potential sleep apnea that other doctors haven't. She noted that I've had gum issues in the past, and has built a comprehensive treatment plan that is much more thorough than any other doctor I've seen in the past, and also made sure that it's all covered by my insurance! Even from the first appointment, I can tell it's a world of difference from other doctors I've seen, and I'm planning to switch my entire family to Dr. Silvers' practice.

Experiencia fantástica: I have had my share of poor to mediocre dentists, so I know when I come across a good one, and Jennifer Silver and her team fall into the category of exceptional dentists. Dr. Chaudry came into my first cleaning prepared, knowing I had a calcified tooth and wanting to do an x-ray to monitor it. Then, she removed months of staining due to coffee consumption and always took care to tell me when and where she would be moving the head of the cleaning equipment. My teeth finally looked white again, which is nothing short of a miracle,, and afterwards, Dr. Chaudry applied a laminate, which no other dentist has done before. I felt very comfortable with Dr. Chaudry and she was extremely thorough. I highly recommend Dr. Silvers and her entire team!

Experiencia negativa: Terrible experience. I had my new patient examination with Dr.Silvers a while ago and they have suggested some fillings. I went ahead and scheduled my fillings appointment on the same day. Today when I reached the office for my fillings appointment, I came to know (by luck, otherwise I would have only known this once I was in the dentist's chair) that my appointment was not scheduled with Dr.Silvers but with a different dentist. Nowhere in this entire process was I informed that my appointment was scheduled with a different dentist. Not when I made the appointment and not in any textual communications I have received. To top this all of, the front staff coordinator Maryam was super rude in handling this situation. She made this whole experience much worse. Suggestions: 1) Please always inform your patients with which dentist the appointment is being scheduled. 2) Please retrain your coordinators to be kind and helpful.

Experiencia positiva: This review is for the most recent visit as well as prior visits 6 months ago. Everything was perfect and as it should be. The doctors and dental hygienists are all excellent and courteous, and clearly communicate what options are available to the patient and their respective pros and cons, what they are doing and what to expect. The one area that could use some improvement is better and more forthcoming communication on the precise fees for procedures when there are changes in scope from what was originally quoted. Specifically, there was a quote for a procedure that covered 5 teeth dating back 6 months ago. And then I inquired about what really needed to be done and reduced the scope to 2 teeth. Although the doctor handling this stated in generally that it would be 40% of the original quote less the 15% discount for Wellness Plan subscribers, the receptionist curtly told me the quote was expired and wouldn't tell me what was the new quote - the receptionist was the one negative aspect of the otherwise-positive experiences I've had with this facility.
I am very happy to hear that your overall experience at the office has been positive! I also understand that you experienced a communication breakdown at your most recent visit and am sorry to hear that any aspect of your visit here was less than pleasant. While I cannot speak specifically to your situation for patient privacy reasons, I would like to respond in general terms regarding our treatment approach and communication regarding finances.
In some cases, patients have treatment needs that have differing degrees of urgency. This can be related to the severity of disease or whether we are addressing true disease (cavities, etc) or restoring the teeth to an ideal form (chipped teeth, etc). I am pleased that you felt the clinical team explained your options well. Generally, we plan to complete treatment in a way that requires the least number of visits, to be mindful of our patients’ busy lives. Should a patient wish to separate them for any reason, we will change the treatment plan sequencing to reflect the patient’s desired approach.
Our treatment estimates are valid for 90 days as stated on the form. While it is unusual for the numbers to change within that timeframe it is our policy to update all treatment estimates that are over 90 days to ensure they are as accurate as possible and avoid any unexpected expenses to the patient after treatment is rendered. Amanda, our Financial Coordinator, provides these estimates. She does so immediately whenever possible, but often the estimate is sent via e-mail.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been going to Dr Silvers for years. She is professional, but has a great 'bedside manner' and a good sense of humor. She is very friendly. Her staff is super friendly too. The office is well equipped with the most up to date equipment/tools (love the heated dental chairs). I no love the office dog, Guinness, is adorable. The front desk also tackles my very convoluted dental insurance hoops and makes sure I know what’s up going forward. They’ll never take your wallet for a ride or do unnecessary treatment. I’ve been down that road. The best part. My teeth and gums have actually improved and that is saying a lot for me. It was a nightmare on 505 South Drive in there if you catch my drift. If you’re looking for a good dentist, I highly recommend. I’ve seen every kind of bad dentist on the planet. Dr. Silvers and her team are every kind of good in this world.

She does excellent dental work, she does it quickly and with empathy, and she even has a comfort dog who can sit in your lap (not to mention the massage dental chairs). She hires terrific hygienists too, which is equally important. Can't say enough good things about this dental practice!!!

Ashley is the gentle and talented hygienist who I see twice a year. When more serious work is needed, Jan and Milla are thorough, excellent dental assistants. Practice manager Deanna has such a great way about her that she always makes me feel happy. Yes, going to the dentist can be a thoroughly great experience. Update summer 2022: Decided to leave their practice for a variety of reasons. The dental care is excellent but the administration of the practice is lacking.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Silvers and her team are wonderful. Dr. Silvers is extremely smart, efficient, friendly, and fair. Not only is she a second generation dentist, but she also served in the Army so she’s got so much experience, she keeps up on the latest technologies, and she loves going on Dentists Without Borders missions. She will answer all your questions and is so fun to share stories with when we get started at each visit. She’s got a hygienist for everyone’s style, but I love seeing Ashley, she’s so gentle, receptive to my sensitivities, and remembers everything like I was in last week not 6 months ago. Also, if I didn’t already love Dr. Silver’s practice enough, she’s training her new King Charles spaniel to be a comfort dog in the office and I’ve never had a more relaxing cleaning than the one with a puppy on my lap!

Experiencia fantástica: My tooth cleaning appointment with Hygienist Dr. Tianna was great. Dr Silvers checked for cancer in mouth in 2 min with UV light. Everyone is always smiling and welcoming here. Great place to get dental work done. I have done many tooth procedures with Dr. Silvers. All of them went smoothly, no pain whatsoever during or after procedure.

Jan explained every step of the work that she was doing , constantly checking to see if I was ok. Dr Silvers could not have been more gentle , patient and honest .
