Experiencia positiva: I initially chose Laraway Family Dentistry for their holistic approach and safe removal of amalgam fillings, and I truly appreciated the tools they use and the quality of the technical work. The staff was polite and professional. However, over time I had a couple of experiences where I felt judged and spoken to in a condescending way regarding my treatment decisions, particularly when I sought more affordable care elsewhere. I also experienced communication that created unnecessary stress during a painful situation. While I appreciate the care I received initially, I ultimately decided to transition to a different dental practice that better aligns with my communication needs and overall comfort.

They made everything so easy and eased my fears. Samatha was so through and Dr. Laraway explained everything perfectly so I could understand. I did not feel rushed at all. I will definitely go back and will not be afraid to go!

They saved my teeth from severe damage. Always up front and Dr sits down and takes her time to talk with you. No in and out. Explains everything. Answers all my questions. And just the sweetest. She is always willing to work with what makes the patient comfortable. All of the staff is friendly and compassionate. I’ve had 3 procedures done and no issues with any. They have been wonderful and attentive and most importantly. I can smile again. Would 10/10 recommend this dentist office.

I am a cash pay patient and they were very upfront with all their pricing as well providing pricing for any caveats and potential add-ons that could accompany any of the resulting outcomes of my situation. The staff was very friendly, on-time, and the dentist provided wonderful eduction around each option. It's a bit of drive for me but worth the time to work with transparent businesses with reasonable pricing.

I had six implants last year and the experience was great. They took the time to explain everything in detail on procedures and what to expect, it went flawlessly. She took a number of measurements on my bite, and prescribed an appliance which I use every night. As a result, the pain, and to my surprise, my snoring, disappeared!

Experiencia negativa: New to the area, My daughter age 30 and pregnant went in for a teeth cleaning and new patient check up. She said the teeth cleaning was not thorough and very quickly done. I guess they wanted to get to the expensive items! She was given a $300 3D scan of her mouth that she did not ask for but they have everyone do, so that they can pay for their expensive machine. She was told by Dr. Asha that she had "bacteria in her mouth above her implants" which had been done several years prior by a different dentist. She was told that her 2 baby teeth (which have perfect roots and no adult teeth behind them) needed to be removed and implants done. Dr. Asha also said she needed several fillings done. Unbeknowst to me, my daughter left the office in tears, thinking of the enormous expense. After relaying the message to me a few days later, I told my daughter I would make her an appointment with our very trusted and wise dentist of over 20 years in our city and state when she visited in a couple of weeks. Now for the good part: My daughter and I saw our trusted dentist a few days ago and had the report from Dr. Asha along with a copy of an xray for her to see. Our trusted dentist said that there was no reason whatsoever to remove the baby teeth until they would get loose or give her problems. Our dentist said that she had a patient have a baby tooth until she was 70. The surgical procedure for implants and implants themselves would easily be $15,000-$20, 000!!! No thank you! Bacteria?! Our trusted dentist just laughed and said we ALL have bacteria in our mouth. Our trusted dentist found no cavities and said my daughter needed no large fillings. She said that my daughter had 1, possibly 2 teeth that have a small amount of erosion where she would fill in with a small amount of resin. Run from this office!! JUST RUN!!!!!!! It makes me so angry that they would do this to a young pregnant woman knowing how expensive all this would be. She left this office in tears!!!! Complete scammers. Run from this office!!!! Our trusted dentist said that she is seeing this more and more and gave us other examples of other dentists doing the same in trying to rip people off with unnecessary procedures. It is really disgusting in how greedy and dishonest people are. God sees it and He protected us from this office.

Experiencia negativa: I would caution anyone from going here. I recently moved back to The Woodlands after living out of state for 10+ years. I was interested in finding a more holistic/biological dentist and Laraway was the closest to me. I have kept up with every 6 month dental cleanings for nearly my entire life. I have never had any issues aside from a few cavities as a kid. My most recent cleaning was last May (2024) and I had no issues. My hygienist and dentist always complimented my teeth and hygiene. I take my dental routine very seriously and use all the best products. I booked an appointment at Laraway for a cleaning and they had me do a full set of X-rays. Both the hygienist and Dr. Asha told me I had bone loss. Dr. Asha started talking about my mouth, my nasal air ways, my apparent teeth grinding which I have never been told I do nor have I ever had any kind of jaw issues/pain. I was in a state of shock listening to all of this wondering how just a few months ago I had an A+ dentist check and now I'm hearing things I've never heard before. Then they told me I wasn't able to have a ''preventative teeth cleaning" because of the bone loss and handed me a $900 treatment plan to have a special deep cleaning that would require anesthesia. I asked why I couldn't have a regular cleaning now and think about this treatment plan, and the front office staff member said legally they couldn't do a regular cleaning because of the bone loss. I just couldn't believe what I was hearing. I left very concerned and immediately called my previous dentist I had been seeing for 5 years and told her what happened and sent her the new X-rays. She reviewed the new X-rays and my all of my old ones and said there was no evidence of periodontal disease, bone loss, nor did she see any gum pocketing deeper than 3 on all of the perio charts. My dad is an MD, so I showed him the X-rays and he also said he didn't see any bone loss. He sent the X-rays to his dentist who said the same thing... no bone loss and mentioned there was hardly any calculus radio graphically. If this wasn't already enough, I uploaded my X-rays to GROK AI (lol I know) who also confirmed no bone loss. I also found other google reviews with very similar experiences. This is highly concerning. I endured a very traumatizing dental visit for nothing. I hope Laraway reevaluates their practice, and I suggest anyone who receives a treatment plan get a second opinion.

After a long search I finally found Laraway Dentistry. Dr Joanna Laraway and her team are extremely friendly and take time to explain the treatment options while also making me feel reassured that I get the best dental care from knowledgeable professionals. I fully recommend this dental practice!

Experiencia negativa: The woman dentist is extremely condescending and prideful. Her bedside manner is wildly unprofessional. This practice absolutely doesn’t care about the patient, all they care about is trying to con every dollar out of you possible. I have been to a many other dentist over the course of my life and have never been suggested some of the absurd things she has suggested totaling multiple thousands of dollars (and that’s with insurance). As someone who takes very good care of my teeth and never needed braces… my teeth are perfectly straight and spaced. Have even been to two different airway centered dentists and have not been diagnosed with any MAJOR issues. She sure found a lot of crazy issues that I’ve never been diagnosed with before. After getting second opinion I can confirm that some of the “problems” she diagnosed are in fact not problems. When I questioned some things in my follow up consult (after pulling historical scans and using logic and research.) She actually got very defensive and told me she’s the only dentist who knows these things that’s why they’ve never been caught before! As opposed to being understanding of why one would question such vastly differing diagnosis than ever given in their life… by multiple dentist, and maybe just backing up with scientific explanation. I could deal with some of my issues with the place by declining recommendations etc, but I don’t think doctors actually understand that they work for the patients. So as easily as I can hire you I can also fire you. Her condescending prideful attitude ultimately and surely is what got her fired in this case.

Experiencia fantástica: It’s odd to say I enjoy going to the dentist, but this place has made it that way for me. I had not previously gone for years, but found out about this location. I look forward to the routine cleanings because they remember me, but all seem cordial. I tried going to a different dentist when my insurance was changed some, but was glad to come back here. They understood my unique circumstances with a former jaw cyst, and have used technology pro-bono that helped with bone growth coming back in my jaw. The Laraway’s are also extremely intelligent in the field of dentistry. Whenever I’ve talked with them while there, or overhear, they are talking of a new technology they have added to the office. Erica has been an awesome hygienist too. Try out this place, you will be ruined from wanting to try another dentistry!

I usually don't leave reviews but this one was a must. not going to lie, hadn't visited a dentist in a good min but accidents happen and was forced to visit. found Laraway through my insurance provider and man I am glad. sure enough, first visit had to get deep cleaning and 4 wisdom teeth removed.... the fear was real! lol she is on point guys, smoothest surgery ever and learned she is a Led Zeppelin fan! extra point all went as she described, during and after and haven't had any issues so far, one week in. pain is minimal things considered as well so kudos to my new dentist. thank YOU to you Dr. and staff was AWESOME too! totally recommended

She takes time to talk to you and is really knowledgeable about a wide array of issues that impact your mouth that you may not think is related to the problem. My family and my parents have been under the care of the Laraways for the past decade! They are great with children and do mercury free fillings. I highly recommend!

Experiencia negativa: The doctor does not listen to the patient when they say a treatment is either not working or making them uncomfortable. Follow up. After visiting two other dentist both said laraway does things in a way to be able to charge you more. Yeah. Don’t go here.

Experiencia negativa: I can NOT warn you enough about this place. I went for the first time for a cleaning as a new patient. They did x-rays, the hygienist went through and checked all of my teeth and gums. The dentist came in, never sat down, she stood over me, and basically told me everything I had ever done for my teeth was done improperly. Mind you I’m 49 years old and have had my teeth cleaned every 6 months my whole life. I do have one implant due to a broken tooth from grinding. I wear a night guard but was told that wasn’t right. She even went on about the same bacteria that is found in colon cancer can be found in your gums. After talking to me very condescending, again, never sitting down, or looking at my mouth herself. Told me that I have bone loss, and that my teeth were too bad for a regular cleaning, they refused to clean my teeth and told me that I had to have a deep clean. Which has never been suggested to me in my whole life. Told me that my gum recession was between a 5 -6 in several places. So after all this trauma, I didn’t even get my teeth cleaned. When I went to check out, they gave me estimates for a deep cleaning, and other surgical things. I left, very upset, and in tears. Immediately called my prior dentist and made an appointment with her. I sent her all of my x-rays and she confirmed that the dentist was not being honest. My gums at their worse were between 3-4. I share this long review as a warning because this was very traumatizing for me, I had to wait a whole month to get in with my other dentist, I came out of money outside of my insurance since I had just been to the dentist, and felt greatly taken advantage of. I can only imagine someone that did not have the same personality that I did, that would have been taken by the fear tactic. After this happened to me, I did some research and found several other people that had bogus diagnosis from the same dentist.

Experiencia fantástica: Getting my teeth cleaned here was a breeze. Dr Asha was diligent with ensuring my neurologist cleared me for sedation. Not only that, They're available to answer questions via text messages. I've never heard of such. It makes communication so much easier!! It's obvious she keeps herself up to date on technology and treatments and seems to be excited about dentistry. On a scale of 1 to 10 I give her a 52!!!

I got a cleaning and treatment for the bacteria and didn’t realize how LONG my teeth have felt so dirty. I have changed my regimen for how I clean my teeth and we have proof of improvement with my gum issues. I am so so so grateful I came here. Experiencia negativa: After reading the positive reviews I was not prepared for the negative experience my family encountered. We saw Dr Asha/Osha and it was obvious that she was in a rush and did not want to treat my son. After waiting for an hour she talked with us about 5 minutes. She said that my son did not need any work done. He had 7 cavities, wisdom teeth that were coming in side ways, a partially impacted 2nd molar and a completely impacted and deformed 2nd molar. She said my son needed braces and that would help. When I asked how the braces would help the sideways wisdom teeth she had no answer. We have three other dentist that all agree that he needed 7 cavities filled, removal of wisdom teeth to allow the 2nd molar to come in and removal of the deformed 2nd molar that was impacted. In reflecting on our visit the only reason that I can come up with for your treatment is the color of our skin. It saddens me that this is something that people still do. So I would advise brown people to ask not to see her.

They listen to all our concerns, are super patient and incredibly gently. The dental assistants are so amazing! They even are willing to allow my children to watch a movie in the waiting room while I have work done. Even if my littles choose to join me when I have work done, the doctors always greet them and allow them to play quietly in the corner.

Laraway has done a great job continuing on with some existing treatments, and developing a plan for new treatments. It was a very collaborative effort, and I feel like they helped me make informed decisions using their experience. The work they have done has been very good, scheduling is easy with a good reminder system, and they have been very helpful with dental insurance claims. I would recommend them to anyone in The Woodlands area.
