Experiencia negativa: Came here with a bad tooth ache. Dude charged me 300 dollars to JUST look and didn't do anything..... 300 DOLLARS. DO NOT COME HERE!!! Wasn't even in there 20 minutes.

Experiencia fantástica: Before I came to 1488 dental I was kicked out of 109 other Dentist places, but it was never my fault. I came to 1488 dental cause they promised me that they will purify my White teeth, and gas my brown and black teeth. Mr Okwen with his pale White skin, light blue eyes, and blonde hair did just that. Thank you 1488 dental for securing the existence of my smile and a future for my White teeth.

Experiencia negativa: I had horrible experience here. I am sharing my experience so other patients can make informed decisions. I came in for a filling that had fell out was not clearly informed that I had a cavity on the tooth adjacent to the one being treated. At no point was I told I had a cavity, shown my X-rays, or had the issue explained to me. The dentist later stated that he “told me,” but that is not accurate. He asked a general question about whether I felt any other teeth were affected, and I answered no — because I am not a dentist and had not been informed of a cavity. Asking a patient a question is not the same as diagnosing, explaining findings, and obtaining informed consent. After the filling, I noticed what I believed was damage to the neighboring tooth and returned to have it evaluated. Only then was I told that it was a cavity that had been visible on my X-ray. This was the first time that information was clearly communicated to me. The procedure itself was very uncomfortable. I was sprayed with water multiple times, bumped in the head, and given injections without numbing gel, despite me confirming with the assistant that the gel was safe for my allergy after reviewing the ingredients. The wedge placement was extremely rough and painful, and my gums bled throughout the night and remained sore afterward. When I asked if the situation could be made right, the dentist refused. After I stated that I would be sharing my experience publicly, I was accused of blackmail and told that he was uncomfortable continuing my care. Patients deserve clear communication, transparency, and respectful treatment. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

Experiencia negativa: One thing for certain do not come here. They know how to work the insurance system to get their money for sure. This was my first and last time coming to this dentist. I went in for my routine cleaning and exam that you are supposed to get done, which according to my wife and our insurance is completely covered and would cost me $0. They asked me when I first walked in, “where is the problem?” I was taken back by that because I haven’t mentioned any problems and wanted a routine cleaning and exam to make further steps. Even my wife was suspicious of the question. Once I was in the chair I was trying to tell the dentist what my concerns were and I wanted a plan for my whole mouth, which would have to have a routine exam first to have a conclusion. The dentist did not exam my mouth but one tooth, took an X-ray of that one tooth and gave me the most ridiculous news that the tooth would need a crown and root canal. Which I know is wrong because it doesn’t hurt nor is it sensitive. I did not receive my routine exam and I did not receive my cleaning and I got charged $50. Come to find out through my insurance benefits they claimed I was in for a problem area only, which was not the case. They are scammers and only want money.

Experiencia negativa: Adversities as a 24/7 place my wife had an emergency situation she was in bearable pain and she tried to stick out to not wake up our kids in the middle of the night I called and said we might go and then he called me sometime after and just said I gotta reschedule before I left I called him saying my wife couldn't bear it anymore and I'm a understanding guy people need rest but don't advertise yourself 24/7 if you aren't 24/7 he ended up hanging up on me after we kept going back and forth and trying to get him to understand that his business says he's 24/7.

Experiencia fantástica: This is the smoothest tooth extraction I have ever had. I did not even feel any that "pressure". No gas was given - it was not necessary. The numbing techniques he used did the trick. I personally like the fact that is a small dental office - a receptionist, an assistant and Dr. Okwen- so yes it is not the fancy dental chain and I was leary at first and almost did not go in, but I am so glad I did!!! He has a very calming presence, very personable and likeable. Dr. Okwen and the lovely- patient receptionist both took time to try undo the knots in my necklace that I had caused due to anxiety. That extra step means alot. And the my took my insurance so the cost was where it should it have been. I will be going back to have other work done.

Experiencia fantástica: Went in on a Sunday with an old root canal that was infected. It ran up my sinus cavity to my eye. The doctor took me in immediately and removed the old crown and pins completely by himself. I've never seen that ever. He was extremely nice and knowledgeable. I'm very thankful he was open on a Sunday because it's rare. I can tell he honestly cares about people and that's also rare. I'm very grateful.

We are incredibly grateful they were available! The dentist who treated her was extremely professional, kind, and thorough. He took the time to clearly explain the procedure and made sure she felt comfortable throughout the process. The cost was surprisingly affordable, especially for an emergency visit. We are beyond pleased with the care she received and will definitely recommend 1488 Dental to anyone in need of quality dental services—especially when it matters most!

Experiencia negativa: Went here in August of last year. Needed an emergency crown and at first everything seemed smooth with getting the crown, but when sent to make the crown, and it not fitting right. One of my upper teeth was shaved down that was perfectly healthy to make the crown fit. Now a year later I went to another dentist and was told that I have an opening for bacteria and that the crown was not sealed properly. Of course it would be cheaper to come back here but it is a waste of money and my time to ever go back. Takeaway, does more harm than good. Don’t ever go to this dentist. Due to the lack of empathy from the doctors office I don’t need a response from them, I understand all this was a choice but I thought this was a place to have problems fixed not made worse while also spending thousands of dollars.

Experiencia fantástica: Called in had a wisdom tooth issue little later after hours. The Dr took the time out of his day to make sure I was taken care of. Did it quick and speedy also the prices were not bad at all. I'd recommend.

Experiencia negativa: Came here for an emergency root canal on 3/28/2025. Things seemed great at first…Scheduled an appt that morning and arrived early that afternoon. I was in the dental office chair for 6.5 hours. No exaggeration. By no means at all should a root canal have taken that long. Every single time I thought we were wrapping up there was something else that needed to be done. It would’ve been helpful if the endodontist relayed exactly what he was going to do before he actually did it. I had to ask for goggles to shield water,etc from going on my face and in my eyes. The endodontist also worked without an assistant and I was left unattended multiple times throughout the dental procedure when dental tools on and inside of my mouth. Communication is also poor. You will need to call both phones, leave emails and go back in office just to actually get prescriptions sent and answers to your dental questions. I had extreme facial swelling post procedure due to the numbing agent used and also from my mouth and how being open for such an extended period of time. You are not made a priority. I understand having to leave for personal emergencies unexpectedly but adequately relay that to patients. Communication is key! Dr. Okwen was caring and seemed like he was trying his best but more structure is required from the team overall to have a better patient experience. He couldn’t focus on the dental procedure bc he was helping the front desk every other minute and giving reminders throughout. That’s unacceptable. Front desk staff also needs more training. I’ll be honest, 1488 doesn’t give legitimate. At all. I didn’t want to have to write this detailed review but it’s necessary. That’s just the truth. This dental office also doesn’t accept any type of insurance or copay cards. Very expensive. I understand that there are “emergency” fees that are added on. I get it but excessive is excessive. I’m able to complete this review only because I finally received the numbing agent that was utilized I’m relaying to my general dentist that I had an allergic reaction to. A patient should not have to delay writing a review to ensure that previously requested dental information is adequately relayed. I gave this dental office a chance bc I was in need but I do NOT recommend and advise to go elsewhere for overall proper dental care. I was an actual dental patient at 1488 Dental and I am speaking on my actual experience. ***Update: 6/12 This was a review from my personal experience. My dentist NEVER received my dental records that were “previously faxed” by this office. I called in office to follow-up with the dental office manager on the phone. We both reviewed documents supposedly sent that day and nothing populated. No accountability and no follow-up. I truly have no reason to lie. Also, my dentist literally had to ask if 1488 put the OLD crown back on!!! There is already a hole in a brand new expensive crown! How is that possible if just placed in April?! Save yourself the time and go elsewhere. Trust this review. Again, I do NOT recommend this dental office from MY personal experience. This Google review is actual and factual. I will give credit when credit is due. This dental experience was not the case.

Experiencia negativa: They basically just robbed my son in law. My daughter called the day before to get an estimate for exam and potential extraction. She was quoted between $385-$515. When they arrived the dr was wearing shorts (red flag?). They did an X-ray and exam, charged them $240 and told them the extraction would be $1000.00!!! They immediately left and went to another dentist that charged them $99 for exam and $445 for the extraction. I don’t know what kind of scam they are playing there but be VERY aware of charges!!!

Experiencia negativa: I would do 0 stars if possible, no sign of care for his profession, customer needing immediate care but no signs of care, "fill this out" as I begin requesting service because our application was done he began to inform me he had a client in the back that needed more care then we needed, understably, had he not been sitting at his desk for 20 minutes, doing nothing, not even a click on tbe keyboard, before he got up to let the sink run for 10 minutes before FINALLY addressing the customer in obvious need of immediate care for his profession, I do not recommend this doctor in the case of an emergency, I can see he is a great doctor if you show up scheduled, but if you are in immediate care, based off of what I saw and observed with many benefits of the doubt, don't go to this doctor.

Experiencia fantástica: Went to another dentist on 1488 last Saturday they said my pain was from a certain tooth and it needed to be pulled, Sunday I was in unbelievable pain and found this dentist open on Sunday. He was able to get me right in and took x- rays and said I needed two roots canals that he could do that afternoon he did great and he got me out of pain.

However, they kept trying to increase the number all the way up to 6 million now, with "new evidence" of theirs suggesting I have as high as 8 million cavities! I mean that's just physically impossible, there's no way that 8 million cavities could form in just 4 years. Where's the teeth at, huh? Where are the supposed mass collections of braces to prove so?

The staff there were very assuring that those numbers were greatly exaggerated, and they got to work on my teeth. I went from having my teeth covered in dirty black cavities, to perfectly straight and white teeth. 1488 Dental was the final solution for my toothaches and ensured a future for my white smile.

Experiencia fantástica: I went in after i cried out in pain and felt like there was stabbing in my gums. I figured i had cavities, but i had 6 million of them! At first it sounded like a lot, i figured it was more like 200k, but they were right!

Experiencia negativa: I went here a few years ago, recommended by my friend George who had a nasty infection in his gums and teeth, later spreading to his throat giving him difficulty breathing, apparently the infection took the knee when 1488 Dental took care of it. I think it's a family owned business, started up back in the late 40s. Staff was very helpful in giving me the final solution to my own dental question. Teeth were as white as could be for a few years after, but some invasive brown issues have developed since then, when I went to see them again they said it was only natural, and that 50% of my issues were caused by the plaque covering 13% of my teeth. Regardless, the man with the funny hat told me that nothing was wrong, and it was only natural. Now my white mouth is being beaten and robbed by these black and brown stains. Hoping to visit another practitioner to get the problem gassed out and secure an existence and future for my white teeth. If I could rate lower I would, -109/110 stars.

Thankfully, 1488 dental properly secured "living-space" for my straight white teeth with braces, and all six million (((cavities))) were removed. Thank God, those cavities were so brown and disgusting. Their gassing technique was top notch. That was the final solution to my teeth problems, as I'll never have to visit the dentist again! Now I'll never lose my smile!

Experiencia fantástica: My fiancé was in extreme pain from a procedure done by another dentist office. The owner of 1488 was able to see him around 5:30am for an emergency appointment to find out what was wrong. He was able to get him in quickly and do a root canal. Another appointment was needed later on for a second root canal. Both appointments went smoothly and the owner was kind enough to waiver some fees/costs. Highly recommend and would go again for dental needs.

Experiencia negativa: Horrible experience. Walked in with a referral saying I needed a root canal something I have known. Tooth was starting to give mass amounts of pain they went ahead and made sure it was poked multiple times to verify it was hurting like yea it hurts that's the whole reason I'm here I don't need you poking me with your dirty metal tools. Took them over an hour to come back and say I needed the damn root canal that I was there trying to get and getting the hole in my tooth closed up that is causing mass amounts of pain that they had to poke multiple times to verify it was hurting as if I was lieing about the pain. Left there without doing anything because I was left unattended and unhelped for way too damn long to be told I needed what I already knew because I had a referral. Not to mention half the tools on the chair or around the tables where dirty and damages as if they don't clean thier tools. I should have taken pictures of the dirty tools and the damage tools they can't even fix/replace.

Since I was flying back to MN in 2 days, he came up with an option that didnt require a return trip next week. He referred me to 2 MN colleagues to follow up and complete the necessary work. He and his assistant had me cleaned and patched up in no time. What a relief for me. The relatives I visited are definitely keeping this phone # handy for future guests.

Now yuo see, I had so much damage from these brown and black (((cavities))) committing atrocities to my whites. In fact, I had such damage that 1488 dental initially told me it would take 6 million dollars over 2 years. However, the best I could do is 271k. Thankfully, these wonderful ladies and gentlemen treated me anyway. My teeth are so strong and white now. I will certainly never lose my smile. Experiencia negativa: I had a root canal done in the past and today the tooth came out, so I made an appointment with this office. I read a review from someone who said they did not take insurance and billed them almost $200 for the visit, so I called back and specifically asked if they take insurance and the front desk worker assured me that they do take insurance. All the dentist did was look at my tooth and take an xray, then they told me it would be over $4000 just for an extraction & implant- plus $2,500 for crown. they do not have a contract with my insurance, so I told them I will just go to my regular dentist because that is too much $$. THEN THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD BE $170 JUST FOR THE VISIT TODAY!! All he did was look inside my mouth and tell me I needed an extraction. My insurance did not cover the visit, again because this place has no contract with the insurer... so they were asking me to pay $170 OUT OF POCKET, even though they told me they take insurance. The other review was right. I told them if they explained there would be a $170 fee just for the consultation then I would have never went forward with the visit - I agreed because they told me they take insurance, yet they did not bill my insurance. They were very deceptive by doing business this way. I sat there for an hour while they tried to contact my insurance, only to find out they have no agreements with insurance and that I would have to pay for the majority of the procedure out of pocket. They wanted to charge me over $4k for extraction today, then $2,500 for a crown later! After I complained they reduced the visit fee to $110 but that is still outrageous just for a dentist to look inside my mouth for 1 minute and to take an x-ray. If you have an emergency situation I would NEVER call this place, they will tell you they take insurance and then ask you to pay out of pocket AFTER a consultation. The fees should have been 100% clear UP FRONT when I was signing all the intake forms. I paid $110 to literally get nothing, they wasted my time by having me wait (from 4:30-6pm)while they call my insurance. Very unprofessional and deceptive business practice - untrustworthy completely, in my opinion. Just look at all the crazy reviews, I should have known to stay away but I gave my trust because I was desperate. I feel completely robbed and the dentist/so called specialist should have realized the mistake of telling me they take insurance and then charging me out of pocket fees. Edit/update - I went to another dentist today who actually uses insurance like a normal business - they charged me $50 for the visit, same thing with tooth inspection and x-ray. Then they quoted me $2,700 for the exact same procedure...extraction, bone graft, tissue regeneration, implant, and crown. Compare that to close to $7k 1488 dental tried to get out of me on top of office visit fee $ after being dishonest about taking insurance. I will be getting the procedure done in a few days. I dodged a major bullet and I would encourage anyone reading this to skip the BIZARRE 5 star reviews and look straight to the real lower rated ones.

I usually give dentists a 1.61/10 rating but my teeth are now straight and white. Thanks for replacing my black rotten bad teeth that covered 13% of my mouth but caused 50% of my pain.

My teeth are insanely white, and they told me the final solution to my teeth is when I come again! They also told me they might use gas, but that might just be to make me sleep. Also, originally because of my taxing, I was supposed to pay 6 million dollars for all of my appointments here, but because the workers are well fashioned and nice, they told me it's only 271,000$!

Experiencia negativa: This guy is a butcher. I will forever have ptsd every time I go to the dentist after the botched job he did. Charged me 900.00 for the worse job that an emergency dentist had to fix. Don’t be fooled when googling emergency dentist and this place pops up. He doesn’t have the basic equipment like a light above his dental chairs. Maybe that’s why he left half the tooth and bones sticking up. I will continue to post over and over so no one has to experience what I did.

Experiencia negativa: Very unprofessional. Said they wouldn't run my insurance because my insurance wouldn't cover the work I needed, so I had to pay out of pocket. I contacted my insurance and the office did file a claim. My insurance sent them the money and I had to call them and ask for the refund. Essentially, they tried to get paid twice. Will not return.

Experiencia negativa: I went in yesterday with my sister because I called ahead of time for a toothache, the check in process was good the gentleman there was good, I asked if they took care credit he said yes we continue on. Doctor came in opened her mouth and then came back with prices. Just to see her was 271!!!!! And NO THEY DONT TAKE CARE CREDIT. And THEY CHARGE A AFTER HOURS CHARGE OF 196$ it would be nice to one not be lied to we didn’t have that kind of money and 2 to tell us there is a fee. You claim to be open 24/7.

Experiencia fantástica: Five stars. My teeth have never been WHITER, STRONGER, or STRAIGHTER than before. A little odd hearing that song "Erika" play in the lobby, but I speak enough German to know it's just a song about a pretty girl, anyway. Dr. Berginstein was extremely nice, though I think he was a little uncomfortable at the sight of such a nice WHITE smile after the nurse practitioner was done with my cleaning.

Experiencia fantástica: My struggle began when I started noticing all my pure white teeth were being rapidly replaced by brown and black teeth under the care of my previous dentist Dr. Yorim Trubblestein. First he called me crazy and said my teeth were fine, then he eventually admitted my teeth were almost completely destroyed but that it was a good thing? He quoted me six million dollars to fix my teeth which is just ridiculous so I went down the road to 1488 dental who quoted me 250,000$ which is much more realistic.

Experiencia fantástica: I told my previous dentist (Dr. Cohen) that I had tooth decay and needed assistance immediately. He told me that he could only provide assistance to the brown teeth, but not the white ones. I felt this was unfair because my White teeth worked very hard to chew my food, while the brown ones didn’t work at all, yet still benefited from me taking care of them as best I could. They never appreciated it, and they kept moving into the White teeth areas. Dr. Cohen told me that it was a good thing for my mouth as a whole to accept the brown teeth, and allow them to mix with the whites. On top of all this, he charged me $6,000,000 dollars for his services, which was nothing more than providing my mouth with more bacteria to help the white teeth degenerate into a discolored bunch. But then I found 1488 dental, and they assured me they could save at least 88 of my teeth, if they could gas the dark ones. I was so happy that mein dentist could provide my mouth with 12 years of prosperity, until Dr. Cohen and his allied associates cut the supply lines to 1488 dental, causing a holodomor inside my mouth. Today, my white teeth are struggling to survive as more and more brown ones Invade my once pure mouth. I pray that even tho mein dentist is in Hyperborea, that a new one will emerge and save us, unlike that false idol dentist, (Dr. Trump) Please do all you can to raise awareness for the plight of white teeth home mouthlands. We must secure the existence of our mouths, and a future for white baby teeth.

Experiencia fantástica: Had a terrible case of cavities due to my family doctor Dr. Horowitz prescribing me estrogen candy, so after reading the raving reviews of 1488 Dental I decided to make an appointment. The receptionist Erika was very polite and let me know how long I'd have to wait until the dentist could get to work on my teeth. Overall great experience and I thank Ds. Dirlewanger for giving me a lovely smile once more.

Experiencia fantástica: I broke some teeth while I was testing to see if I can leave scratch marks on a concrete wall. (You can’t) So I went to 1488 dental to see if they can fix this and they did! I was so nervous about the procedure but the nice dentist calmed me down during the operation when he was explaining to me that he had a job as a baker before becoming a dentist and he said that one time he had a major order for 6 million cookies. But the major problem was baking 6 million cookies with 4 ovens is impossible for a bakery to complete, even if they had 6 years. Overall, very great guy and he got my teeth back to normal!

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. O Secured the existence of my smile and future for my White teeth, unlike Dr. Goldberg who said "it's ok to have brown teeth" but when I asked him why his own teeth aren't brown he called me an antisemite and charged me with a 50% interest rate for the original charge. Dr. O is based and White pilled.

I went to Dr. Bergstein and he told me that despite making up only 13% of my teeth, the black stuff is good and couldn't possibly make up over 50% of my pain and that I should be celebrating the filth and not complaining. Then I went to 1488 Dental. All I remember was the gas and all my problems were solved. Now its nothing but white and strait, as it should be.

I happened to google Emergency Dentist and found 1488 Dental, they were able to see him and do the extraction on the same day. Success! I just called him and he said he felt fine, swelling went down in less than 24 hours, no bleeding, and was able to sleep thru the night, thank you Dr. Okwen, we appreciate you very much!

I just needed my top wisdom tooth pulled but do to my wisdom teeth hitting a nerve for one wisdom tooth $395very expensive & that’s with insurance. Dr .Owken prescribed me mouth wash & pain meds to hold me over for my appointment on Tuesday He was really trying to help me for sure .

Did an emergency root canal, even navigated around an old bridge with care as to not damage it. He couldn’t be a more gentle Dr. and he managed the entire office on his own with no staff. I recently was in an accident and he is the only dentist who took care of me and did not make me wait months to be treated(same day). I have extreme dental anxiety due to a bad experience elsewhere. His staff has always treated me with courtesy. You can get dental help after hours if needed, you simply call the number leave a message and Dr. Okwen call you back.

Dr. O is not only the best dentist I've ever had the pleasure of being treated by, but he also has such a way with words. I originally worked with Dr Shekelberg down the road who became unaffordable that I have been avoiding care. I started growing black stuff on about 10% out my teeth, turns out that alone is causing 50%+ of my pain!! But I believe it's more like 70-80%, 8 cavities in total!! Regardless, I went in to get a shower before my procedure and noticed a beautiful wooden door before walking in there, don't remember much else. Walked out with gorgeous white teeth. All staff are friendly and do a unique wave on most interactions with guests. I tried 109 other places, but will be coming here from now on.

Experiencia fantástica: I can't say enough about the final solution that Dr Heim & Dr Okwen had for my nonwhite teeth. Once I entered the chamber and the gas turned on all I could see were the blue eyes & blond hair of a lovely bombshell assistant of theirs named Helga. Which was a bonus, the two two blond haired blue eyed doctors were somewhat intimidating to be honest when i first met them. However, with the efficiency in the operation it was almost as if they had been engineers in a war machine back in WWII or something. I recall as I was being gassed hearing them saying this one's going to make it, he is of a good bloodline. They made sure my teeth were pure white and cast out any darkness from the lot. Later after the procedure we went out for veal & brats. We had a few beers and discussed things of the past, they said they had went through 109 patients since they last came across one like myself. It was at that moment Helga reached around me from behind and squeezed my weinerscnitzel. I strongly recommend 1488 Dental for any dental work needed, they have the best gas around and do everything in their power to drive out any impurities and cleanse your teeth to the purest white they could be. Two thumbs up!
