Experiencia fantástica: My experience with this dental office over exceeded my expectations. I had to many different dental practices in and around the area and none of them could find the cause of my issues. But this gifted young man was able to tell me exactly where my issues were without me having to say anything. He also came up with a cost efficient plan to get it done. He listens and doesn’t dismiss your concerns. I would definitely recommend this office to anyone.

Experiencia positiva: The staff was nice, informative. Dental assistant was very thorough and explain everything. The Dentist on the other hand was ok. He seem like it was too early or something cause his demeanor was not very inviting. But overall it was a better experience then previous dentist.

My experience with a staff member (a black woman with long, thin hair) was very unpleasant, and the office manager, Mallory, came across as dismissive and unprofessional. They also require a deposit before service, and there are concerns that this policy may be enforced inconsistently, particularly toward Black patients.

Jordan is extremely polite, professional, timely, solution-centered and proactive. Her sincerity was clear through during my initial telephone inquiries, and it is because of Jordan that I chose Eastlight Dental. During my first visit, I was greeted by Ashia, the top-notch, personable and thorough Dental Assistant who began explaining the initial procedures for my visit. Thereafter, I met Dr. Edmund Thomas whose expert analysis and comprehensive answers to my queries were answered sincerely and without hesitation. Additionally, he offered a responsive, albeit temporary, prescription to a challenging dilemma. I concluded my visit speaking to Mallory, Eastlight Dental's Treatment Coordinator who patiently and aptly explained my upcoming treatment plan options, Eastlight Dental's discounted payment plan, and additional procedures needed with grace, and good humor. To top off this visit, the facilities are immaculate, attractive and inviting. All of these factors made my visit to Eastlight Dental a comforting experience, and one that I HIGHLY recommend.

Experiencia fantástica: This was my first visit as a new patient and the customer service was great from the entire staff. The office was very neat and clean. I loved the way my hygienist went over my X-rays and explained everything. In addition when Dr Thomas came in he was very professional and he also took the time to explain the work I needed to have done. I can tell they are very passionate at what they do in helping you maintain a bright smile.

Experiencia negativa: I'm extremely disappointed with my experience. I registered on their website on 1/22 and scheduled an appointment for 2/5, carefully entering all required information -- including my dental insurance details. On 1/28, the receptionist called asking if I could come in sooner. I explained that I preferred a specific time of day, which was only available on 2/5. She said no problem and confirmed she would see me on 2/5. On 2/4, I received a call that I assumed was a routine reminder. Instead, the front desk informed me they could not see me because they *do not accept my insurance*. I was told I could pay out of pocket if I still wanted to proceed. I was beyond frustrated. I asked why this wasn't communicated sooner -- especially since I provided my insurance information nearly **two weeks in advance** during registration. The explanation I received was that they're "busy" and sometimes this happens. That response was extremely nonchalant and dismissive. What makes this worse is that they had already called me once to move my appointment earlier -- yet somehow my insurance was never verified until the day before my scheduled visit. If insurance information is required during online booking, it should be reviewed in a timely manner. Patients plan their schedules around appointments. Waiting until the day before to say, "We don't take your insurance, but you can pay out of pocket," is unacceptable and unprofessional. I pay for insurance for a reason. I had every intention of supporting this local African American husband-and-wife practice, but this experience was disappointing and disturbing. The front desk needs to do better when it comes to communication and basic administrative follow-through.

Experiencia fantástica: I prayed and searched diligently for a dentist. I found this office. I was thrilled with what I read on their website. I was more thrilled when I walked into a clean office, and then I was blown away by the care I received. I have never had anyone spent so much time and care on my teeth. I am actually looking forward to my next appointment.

Alesha (I hope I’m spelling her name correctly) was kind, thorough, and very direct in the best way about what I need to do to prevent further damage. She took the time to show me how to floss properly, which will honestly help with my intense dislike of the scraping during cleanings. Both she and the doctor were incredibly sensitive to my fear of the dentist and made the entire experience comfortable and reassuring. I’m so grateful for the care I received!

Experiencia positiva: The Facility both front and back office very clean and well maintained, staff was very professional, attentive and courteous, although I think they did some initial exams, (X-RAYS), that wasn't expected, when the I was there was for a chipped tooth, a bit much but thorough. Seemed regimented, I didn't get the treatment because of my Insurance didn't cover the procedure, if not I would have felt good about having it repaired there.

Experiencia fantástica: This review is a few days late, but I wanted to share my experience from my dental appointment last Thursday, 12/18/25. This was my first visit to this practice, and my initial impression was very positive. The office was clean, well organized, and welcoming. I did not have to wait long before a technician took me back, and everything moved efficiently from there. Dr. Thomas was excellent—professional, thorough, and easy to talk to. The hygienist also did an amazing job with the cleaning and shared some very helpful tips. Overall, my first experience was great, and I’m looking forward to my follow-up visit in April.

From the receptionist at the front desk Mallory to my dentist Dr. Thomas you won’t walk by anyone without feeling welcome and right at home. Even the dental hygentist are super kind! I remember having to get my tooth pulled and she held my hand the whole time even when I squeezed it super tight! This is just one example of how they go above and beyond! The last time I went, they handed me a warm disposable packaged towel to wipe my mouth with after my cleaning! I felt like a true queen just my that simple complimentary add on! My dentist is really kind and personable too! He always go above and beyond to make sure my teeth are in great shape and that I have a great understanding of what is going on. The icing on the cake is that the aesthetic is very beautiful and tasteful and they are always on point with the holiday decoration too! No more spoilers from me! I interviewed the dentist and spoke with the staff. Eastlight has outstanding customer service, the prices were reasonable. So I made an appointment to have my teeth cleaned. The cleaning exceeded my expectations! The assistant took pictures of my entire mouth. I received copies of the pictures and breakdown of recommend treatments. There was no guessing. They accommodated me in every way possible to allow me to get work done on my mouth which it desperately needed and needs. Shara totally rocked as my hygienist. I had to have a very deep deep cleaning of my teeth, scaling of my teeth and then polish. She was with me the whole way through it. I remind you now I have a brain injury so this is a big deal. Not a small deal! Angie, the treatment coordinator Is working so I can try to use my benefits before the year end. For me to come back without sedation and the work that they want to do speaks volumes about them. The office manager Mallory is outstanding. Dr. Thomas explained everything to me in detail. Shara had also explained some of it to me. Well a lot of it to me That allow me to be in the loop. Not only was the work outstanding, they are compassionate, kind and empathetic. The best ingredients to make a good dental office. The office is small which is awesome. It isn't a chain which is also awesome. I cannot say enough good things about them. You want your teeth done? She was careful and thorough. They not only took x-rays, also pictures inside my mouth. Technology has come along way. The doctor actually takes the the time to listen to you, answer questions, show you the imaging, and explain the treatment plan in detail. He is also very keen to details. The dental assistant was also very proficient and took great hygenic measures via several glove changes, hand washing etc. They truly make sure that you are comfortable. I also like the atmosphere of the office. It's very serene, clean, and well arranged.

Mallory did an excellent job in getting me scheduled and started as a new patient. Dr. Edmund Thomas, Leyla and Shara did a wonderful job of explaining any issues and answering any questions that I had during my exam and cleaning. Everyone was very patient and put me at ease. My previous dentist retired. I wasn't thrilled to have to find someone new. I am so thankful that I have found a new dental practice with great people. I would highly recommend Eastlight Dental!

Experiencia fantástica: First time visiting Eastlight Dental and it was a pleasant experience. Denita the dental hygienist was professional, knowledgeable, and just an overall rockstar! Dr. E was professional, thorough, and kind. All of the other staff members were professional and pretty accommodating. The offices were clean, their equipment seemed Innovative and with the times, and the music playing pleasantly in the back was great. 10/10 first visit. I'm going back for treatment. Call for landmark as navigating system had us all over the place at first.

Experiencia fantástica: My dentist retired in 2017 and the dentist that took his place moved out of the region in 2018. Well today I can finally say that my search for a dentist is over! From the time I made my appointment until receiving my treatment plan, post exam & cleaning, the service was excellent. Dr. Edmund Thomas took time to explain his exam findings and all treatment options, including pros and cons. He listened to my concerns, addressed them, and asked additional questions for clairity. Never, at any point, did I feel rushed or as if he were in a hurry. The dental hygienist provided, hands-down, the best cleaning experience I've ever had! She was mindful of all sensitive areas and checked multiple times to be sure I was okay and comfortable. I've already booked my next appointment and I'm excited about getting my oral health in order. UPDATE 10/25/2023: 2nd cleaning was completed today and again, it was an excellent experience. In addition, all of the work Dr. Thomas completed earlier this year, is faring well. Two particular areas of decay were pretty bad and I did not expect that the teeth could be saved. Not only were they saved, they now look amazing with the crowns. I love Dr. Thomas and the excellent work (magic) he's done with my teeth. He and his wife are my dentists for life!

Danita, the dental hygienist was the best, please hear me the best. She took time to explain every step of the process. She was very gentle with my procedure. Danita takes pride in her craft and it showed in her work. They make you feel very comfortable. When I say I wish I would have known about Eastlight Dental years ago. My daughter also goes there and loves them as well. The husband and wife team are fabulous, they TRULY care about their patient and treat you like family while being professional. Yesterday, May 03, 2023, I went to Eastlight Dental, Stone Mountain Location, and was greatly pleased with the service and dialogue I received here. I am at a place in my life where self- care is of great priority and to receive the care from the staff and Doctor was beyond encouraging and astounding. I went there to get an limited exam regarding my second and third molars. Due to their speciality, Dr. Thomas had to be redirecte to a Endodontist, though instead of redirecting me to any Endodontist, he found one within my network (not required, but did willingly). I knew enough, based on this gesture along, that I needed to call and schedule an appointment with the Endo... I will travel another hour to get this level of care due to the time and feedback that I received. I was priority and that is enough to tell others about this experience and to consider making this Business my own primary Dentist.
