Negative experience: I’m writing this review after sitting with the experience for a year and, more importantly, after getting a second opinion from a very experienced, trusted dentist. At my visit to Issaquah Premier Dental, they took extremely high-resolution photos of my mouth along with standard X-rays. I was then told I had nine cavities, which came as a complete shock. In my entire dental history, I’ve occasionally been told there were areas to “keep an eye on,” but I’ve never had a dentist abruptly diagnose anything close to that number. During this explanation, I was shown an AI-based tool that had flagged the supposed cavities on the images. The diagnosis appeared to be heavily based on what the software identified, rather than a careful, conservative explanation from the dentist themselves. That made me uncomfortable. I’m not going to a dentist to have a piece of software tell me I need irreversible procedures done to my teeth — I’m going to a medical professional for their judgment. Immediately after this diagnosis, I was encouraged to enter a payment plan and schedule a series of appointments to address the cavities in batches (three at a time). The speed and pressure around committing to treatment raised additional red flags for me, so I declined. I recently went to another dentist — someone with decades of experience whom I trust — and after a full exam and X-rays, I was told I have zero cavities. That contrast is deeply troubling. If I had followed Issaquah Premier Dental’s recommendation, I would have had nine irreversible procedures performed on healthy teeth. Dentistry permanently alters your body, and patients depend on providers to be cautious, conservative, and human-led in their decision-making — especially when new technology is involved. I can’t speak to others’ experiences, but mine left me feeling that the recommendations I received here were not sufficiently careful or grounded in professional judgment. I strongly encourage anyone considering extensive dental work at this office to seek a second opinion first.

Negative experience: I've been a patient since 2020. The dental care I received has been satisfactory, staff is mostly pleasant and professional. I am giving a 2-star rating because of my experience requesting a refund for overpayment. After reviewing EOBs from my insurance and discovering I overpaid for some services and was previously refunded the incorrect amount (the first refund taking months of back and forth to even get processed), I reached out to IPD to discuss it. Communication required several follow-ups; I would be told to expect an update on a certain date and then would hear nothing unless I continuously followed up. When they did get back to me they presented an incorrect calculation/amount that I had to politely dispute by writing a detailed breakdown that included screenshots of my EOBs. They eventually confirmed the correct amount and assured me they will mail the rest of my refund within a few days. Obtaining the refund is another ordeal (I have yet to receive it). When I requested an update they mentioned something about a delay and assured me the check was just mailed (conveniently on the same day I asked about it). Ultimately, what is most disappointing is the seeming lack of accountability for what I consider to be a pretty significant oversight -- several hundred dollars' worth of overpayment that was missed for almost a year (might've been longer, if I didn't review my EOBs). Mistakes happen, but as an established patient I find it unacceptable that not only did there seem to be no urgency/sense of ownership to make things right when it was brought to their attention, it feels like I had to jump through hoops to recover money I'm owed. *Review edited for clarity

Negative experience: I’m sharing my personal experience as a patient. I received dental care at this office, including restorative treatment. After a filling, I experienced ongoing discomfort and had to return multiple times for adjustments. Despite these follow-up visits, the tooth continued to feel worse rather than better, which was frustrating and concerning as a patient. In addition, I later had questions regarding the billing codes submitted to my insurance and requested clarification and supporting documentation so I could better understand the treatment and claims. Instead of addressing my questions in a transparent way, I received a certified letter informing me that the office would terminate my care, citing a breakdown in communication and trust. While they followed the formal process of ending the patient-provider relationship, the overall experience left me feeling discouraged and unsupported—both in terms of the clinical outcome and communication. Based on my experience, I would encourage patients who value clear explanations, careful follow-up, and open communication to consider this carefully before choosing this office.

Negative experience: I received care here from 2020-2023 and found this office to have very high staff turn over with very limited availability. Dr. Wu often ran late at my appointments and I would have to sit and wait for 20+ minutes after getting numb. I also felt that the recommendations given were aggressive and not always nevessary which I felt was just a money grab. I am editing this review as my original review text was deleted by mistake.

Negative experience: Very disappointed at this practice. I had some fillings done by Dr. Wu in October and while at the periodontist today in the same building as this office, the filling fell out! My periodontist called the office and sent me upstairs to have the filling fixed bc (he said it was not well done) I was still numb from my periodontal procedure so better to fix it now. Dr Wu refused to fix the filling (asked me how I knocked out my own filling— excuse me, fillings should last more than 3 months and I’m very careful with my teeth) and said she would have preferred to have done the numbing herself. What? Instead I had to take myself and my numb face to another nearby dental clinic to get it fixed so my periodontist could resume the procedure. As someone in a public facing role I was extremely disappointed at the lack of responsibility taken by the office for a poor quality filling.

Fantastic experience: Today I will share my experience with technician Liz during the deep cleaning process. To avoid pain, Liz injected me with anesthetic and applied anesthetic cream, which made the whole process very comfortable. During the cleaning process, she applied moisturizer several times to protect my lips from chapped lips. She also suggested that I use a blanket to cover the lacquer cap to keep warm. Liz is skilled and uses a variety of instruments to carefully clean each tooth, and her friendly and professional attitude makes the experience more pleasant. The whole team is efficient and attentive, and it is highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: I’ve had great experiences at IPD. My dentist Dr. Miao is very nice, patient, and professional. This summer, I had a crown treatment, and the whole process went smoothly. The crown fits perfectly, and the charges were reasonable. The hygienists are also wonderful —friendly and professional, which makes cleanings comfortable. The receptionists are amazing too—so kind and thoughtful. They always try to work around your schedule when setting up appointments, which I really appreciate. Overall, I’m really happy with their service and would highly recommend them.

Positive experience: The dental care here is great, but the front desk has serious staffing issues. They sometimes don’t help check insurance coverage, so you might end up with unexpected bills. Be sure to verify your insurance yourself before your visit.

Negative experience: I can't imagine all the 5 star reviews to be real! I waited a few years to write this, but I am writing this because it might help someone out there. Please think before visiting this office and get a second opinion before going under any treatment that she recommends. I visited this office mid-covid in 2020, before the vaccine existed. I had to wait over an hour to see the dentist; she was in a super annoyed mood that day, and to top it all the lady tried to sell me veneers!!! Maybe their cash flow was down because of covid, that made her propose to a 30 something woman with perfect teeth (who is always up to date on her dental visits and barely has any fillings even) that her teeth are so bad they need veneers. I understand that some people might have chipped teeth as a result of an accident, or discoloration or some genetic deformity and need the service, but none of this was my case. I have always been told by any dentist before her that I barely need any service done and I have great teeth. I am also frequently complimented on my smile. In fact it was comical, she pointed to small pits at the bottom of my teeth (on photos that were enlarged with a magnifying glass) and said "I recommend veneers for these." And my response was "You want to shave off the top of a healthy tooth because of small pits that are completely natural for my age?" I think she only saw dollar signs when she realized I worked for one of those big tech companies. Clearly I never went back there and in the past 5 years I have visited 2 different dentists regularly, both of whom were shocked when I disclosed that a past dentist told me to get veneers. And since then I have only been told that I don't need any treatment beyond preventative cleaning because I have healthy perfect teeth! Issue with dentists like this is that they sell random expensive, yet unnecessary services to naive individuals just to fill their own pockets. Honestly I have very little respect for this category of healthcare professionals who prey on young generation's vulnerabilities, especially during a global crisis when you'd expect doctors to only recommend critical services. Whatever happened to the Hippocratic oath!

Fantastic experience: This was the best experience I’ve ever had with a dental filling. Dr. Miao was extremely professional and patient, always attentive to my comfort and checking in on how I was feeling. The whole process was incredibly efficient and quick. The final result was very satisfying—since it was a front tooth, I was concerned there might be a noticeable color difference or mark, but there was none at all. You can’t even tell it was filled. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience!

Fantastic experience: I have never had such a thorough examination. It was amazing. I walked away knowing the exact health of my teeth and gums. Instead of just hearing a summary, I could see the information she collected. For example, she took pictures of each side of each of my teeth. I could see the problems and knew exactly what work needed to be done and why. I left feeling confident I was getting superior needed care.

Fantastic experience: I decided to move to Issaquah Premier Dental 2 years back and can never be more happier about my decision. And I gradually moved my entire family to Issaquah Premier Dental. So easy to make appointments; the staff is knowledgable and ready to accommodate the appointments based on your convenience. They explain the plan and all other details so clearly. Dr. Wu explains all options and the importance so patiently making sure we understand everything. The best dental experience!

Updated review: still an awesome office. Just sad to see it's tough to get an appointment here. I've gone here for a years. Open only one saturday a month. They book out 6-8 months in advance (which hey means they are good). Sad to not get full time care at this office. But hiring more staff and opening more hours or days would be awesome! It is hard to get cleanings done here in a reasonable amount of time. I appreciate someone reaching out here and informing me they are no longer taking new patients. I think this will help massively for people already wanting to see them. 11/2/23: called to confirm future appointment and schedule cleaning for next year July 24'. Saturdays all booked. July schedule not open yet. Asked for earliest appointment at 7am to miss little work for those who live paycheck to paycheck. Only on fridays apparently. Hygenist is injured. So that option closed. Provided me later on in the morning. But that entails taking the whole morning off of work. The availability is poor here as mentioned earlier. The care is great, the practice is great. Just sad availability is like this. No waitlist. Stressful booking experience. Gotta call every day to even get the appointment you want here. 11/21/23: Got dismissed from the practice for a 4 star review and saying they are great but with small things in the review that they felt was untrue despite repeating what I was told on the phone many months ago. & no indication prior of them not liking our conversations. Just a point blank drop. I scheduled a saturday appointment 6+ months ago and they dropped me a few weeks prior, depsite all the controversial issues with scheduling. Which i'm okay with. Everyone is entitled to their opinon. I still liked them. I think more than anything they wanted a review adjustment from 4 stars & i stayed honest. But shows alot. Staff was polite. Sent me all my records. No further issues. I guess expressing your frustrations, leads to a drop here.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Issaquah Premier Dental for the past 4 years and I have had a fantastic experience. Dr. Wu is very professional and was very diligent to evaluate my needs from the very start of my service with them. The staff is very friendly and helpful and are always checking to make sure that I’m doing ok during my procedure. For anybody that is nervous about going to the dentist, I would highly recommend Dr. Wu as your provider!

Negative experience: I’ve only seen the doctor once and have no complain so far, but the front desk is really terrible. I finished my visit close to the time the office closes and was told that the front desk has already left so there won’t be someone to check me out, but will call me tomorrow to schedule my follow up appointments. I got a call TWO WEEKS after the visit from the front desk, but turned out that I have to get pre authorization from my insurance and they can’t schedule an appointment until that is approved. I was told that the pre authorization takes about 3-4 weeks. I didn’t hear anything until about 5 weeks later and called the office again, and the lady told me that she hasn’t received the pre authorization and will follow up with my insurance company. THREE WEEKS after calling the office, I finally received a notification from my insurance that a pre authorization request was submitted, which means nothing has been submitted in the past two months and she was just lying. Apparently I’m still waiting for the pre authorization, but I don’t think I’ll go back anyways. I’m not sure if that was the same person that I talked to, but if the office wants to keep their business, they’d better find someone who does their job at least. Waste of my time to even have been there for my first visit.

Fantastic experience: I've been to IPD twice, and I'm satisfied all the time. Everyone is so kind and nice, and absolutely professional. For the first time, I arrived the office a bit late for a few minutes because I couldn't find where it is. But it didn't affect my appointment at all. No one complains about my lateness and I was called as soon as I checked in. Also as a new patient, they called me two days before my first appointment to do an introduction and confirm insurance. They have an online system to do the new patient questionnaires, which saves a lot of time. The second appointment was for cleaning, and it was a great experience as well. I really enjoyed my stay here and would like not to recommend to my friends, because the only draw back is it's so hard to get an appointment spot!

They have all the latest technology and are extremely thorough and came up with an excellent treatment plan for my situation during the first visit. In addition they spell out for you in detail both the treatment plan and the costs involved and work seamlessly with your insurance coverage so as to minimize out of pocket costs. Fantastic experience: So I've had a long history of bad previous experiences with dentists in my past - it seemed they were all too often either not very good, or unbelievably expensive, or both. Hence my teeth got into a pretty bad state as I hadn't seen a dentist for a while. My wife found Issaquah Premier Dental and all the good reviews they had. From the very first experience they clearly were a different kind of dentist than I was used to. Their thoroughness and attention to detail is something else. And Dr. Wu is so patient and kind and makes sure that you have as good an experience as possible no matter what sort of procedure you are having. The assistants are also super friendly and put you at ease with their easy going humor. I'm very impressed with them. Understandably they are very busy so you have to book ahead, but it is worth it. Highly recommended.

Positive experience: The educational session with Dr Wu at the first appointment is very helpful in understanding the state of my teeth and the treatment plans including at home routine makes more sense. The front office staff are very helpful and pleasant. I am looking forward to my next appointment with my first cleaning session as a new patient in this practice.

Fantastic experience: Probably the single most positive dental experience I've ever had! At every step of the way the team was incredibly friendly, and took great care to explain to me the details of everything that was going on with my teeth. Even after just one appointment I feel like I've learned more about my mouth and how to properly take care of it than I've ever known. Best customer service, kind and knowledgeable and very trustworthy staff, high tech and comfortable equipment. Very highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: Anthony, Amber, Kelley, Aija and Dr. Wu were all fantastic. From intake, to the plethora of questions from myself and back and forth with other providers and insurance, to procedures and cleaning, all went through seamlessly and quickly. I liked how transparent every charge was and I was able to make informed decisions with Dr. Wu's willingness to take time to answer every question (with my priorities in mind). Dr. Wu also likes to prove what, how, whys of dental issues with actual imaging and how solutions for this could fit in with a classification of: medically, functionally, cosmetically necessary. She informs with enough of the details, this classification, and follow through with both the front office and even other providers. I have much less work to interact with anyone, because it's just so efficiently run here. While looking for a dentist and planning to transfer records, I got resounding endorsements from local oral surgery and orthodontic clinics (solicited and unsolicited). My partner underwent care with Dr. Miao and is equally happy with the treatment. I'm looking forward to stick to this office for a while :D

Fantastic experience: Our family had a great experience at Issaquah Premier Dental. Their staff are friendly, courteous and very helpful. And Dr. Wu was amazing! She made every member of our family feel at ease from the get go. She took her time getting to know us and learn about our concerns. She was very thorough with her examination and she explained everything well. I personally appreciate her honesty and opinions about possible procedures that are available to me and explained the pros and cons of each. We had some not so good experience with our previous dentist/hygienist when we were living out of state so I was a bit wary about our dental visit. Thankfully, our experience with Issaquah Premier Dental was a highly positive one. When we asked our kids if they liked our new dentist, we got a resounding “Yes!”.

Fantastic experience: I recently saw Dr. Wu as a new patient and was impressed with her and her staff’s warmth and professionalism. During my first visit, she spent over an hour reviewing my health and educating me about dental care. She took pictures of my teeth (my first experience with this) which clearly showed the deficiencies in my brushing/flossing. She is the first dentist that took the time to learn about and educate me before an actual dental treatment, and I am over 60 years old! With Dr. Wu and her staff, I feel that my dental care is in excellent hands.

Fantastic experience: When looking for a new dentist in Issaquah, Washington, I was impressed with the video about Dr. Diana Wu. Making an appointment with her was the best decision I could have made. She is kind, caring and most importantly over-the-top professional. I have never seen a dental office that is so high tech making her patients not only comfortable, but offering the latest equipment available. I had been told by a prior dentist that a certain procedure could not be done. Dr. Wu show me how it could be done and I am totally impressed with the results. Dr. Wu takes all the time necessary to provide excellent dental care. She definitely wants me to have the healthiest teeth and works tirelessly to that end. Her office is always very clean. Her staff is fantastic. She is gentle during visits, frequently asking me how I am doing during a procedure. Financing is available. She even put windows in so that when a patient is in the chair, the changing of the seasons can be viewed. Dr. Wu has thought of everything to make a visit to the dentist an enjoyable experience. I highly recommend Dr. Diana Wu for anyone looking for a better dental experience.

Fantastic experience: Wow just wow is all I can say, this was the best experience I have ever had at a dental office. I have had my ups and downs with finding a good dentist and one that makes me feel comfortable and welcome. Well my search stops now I have finally found the best. Dr. Wu and her associates are amazing. I have had a lot of issues in the past with my teeth and honestly grew this fear of going to the dentist unless I absolutely had to. It was like every time I went in for an appointment at other places I would get this huge anxiety and fear of getting work done because of the lack of explanation or lack of care. This was not the case with Issaquah Premier Dental when I walked in they greeted me and asked how I was doing but not just that they went over every single little detail about my procedure even as the procedure was being done. Recently I had a tooth that was infected and was causing me severe pain, Doctor Wu and her associates got me in very quickly to examine me and let me know what the next steps were. On the day of my examination I went in and had full anxiety, blood pressure was through the roof but as soon as they sat me down and talked with me about how the procedure would go and explained every little detail my anxiety started to fade. I thought for sure I would have excruciating pain but that was not the case. I am so happy that I have found a quality and caring dentist that I can now call home for my teeth. If anyone out there is having doubts about getting dental work done because of past experiences please go to Issaquah Premier Dental and see Dr. Wu I promise you you will not be upset.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Miao and her assistant are really friendly and patient! My dental process is smooth. I did a deep cleaning dental and requested for evaluation regarding my overall teeth state which is needed by my orthodontist (another clinic). She was thorough and checked all issues that may arise to ensure my health and ensure that i understand them, she explained all the up and downs for each kind of treatment. She didn't hide anything. Very professional and patient and made sure i was comfortable throughout the process. Collaboration between my ortho and premier dental is smooth. I hardly had to do any intervention between them aside informing them about who they are and why i needed both clinics to talk to each other. The finance dept of premier is also efficient and patient and answered all my questions easily and without showing a hint of impatience when i asked the pricing of this and that. She calculated each and explained the deductibles of my insurance and cash out from my side so i'll be financially informed of future expenses. Overall im very satisfied.
