Fantastic experience: I reached out to Asheville Holistic Dentist with an emergency dental situation. They were able to see me same day, assess my situation, and make a referral. I was able to schedule oral surgery to occur within 48 hours. The office was extremely welcoming and the staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. This will now be my dentist of choice.

Fantastic experience: I have worked with Asheville Holistic Dentist for many years now, and I am completely happy with this practice. The front desk is excellent to work with, helpful, and kind. Easy to schedule and reschedule. The dentist assistant/techs are also wonderful. The staff is relatable, and remember details about my visit ( past taking good dental notes, personable!). Dr. Pang is a wonderful dentist, he listens wells. He problem solves with me. He doesn’t shame.. he encourages. He has put at least 4 crowns in my mouth, and all went well. He talks with me and tells me what the dental process will be like, he’s patient when i am anxious. I have found a great practice here, and I plan to continue to get dental work here.

Putting off making an appointment for too long only added to my anxiety of going now. However, I was greeted with such a warm energy when I checked in, some of those nerves were put to ease right away. Addison helped me with my X-rays and was present throughout my appointment. She was so comforting and wonderful, also incredibly knowledgeable when it came to pregnant patients. What a gift to have her there. When I met Doctor Pang, I could immediately tell that he really cares about helping people. He was so patient talking to me about my next steps and helping me feel comfortable enough to make appointments in the future. Even checking out was met with such a thoughtful energy. I’m so grateful to have found Asheville Holistic Dentist. If you feel fear or embarrassment of your teeth when it comes to making an appointment, know that this is a caring and kind group of professionals who will help you through it.

They have helped me overcome a 25-year problem with fear and anxiety related to dental care. They are concerned about their patients' welfare, first and foremost, and are kind, sensitive and caring. Dr Pang was genuine and kind , he knows his stuff and that puts me at ease. And he’s humble enough to take questions, that says a lot about a person . It’s a long drive for us but it’s worth it because of the expertise he’s worked hard to acquire. I still hope he could have a satellite office in our area. ,but if he did I’d never get in because so many in my area would want to go too .

Fantastic experience: I love this dentist, the staff, this place. This is not something I've ever said about a dentist before! On my third visit I had a day-long series of procedures there and wow. Well done. Everyone involved were attentive and very competent. I felt so well cared for. Pain was expertly managed. Also, no time wasted and no waiting. Recovery had been very smooth. I haven't even had to take more painkillers so far. It doesn't seem like there's trauma to recover from in nearby tissues, jaw, etc. Highly, highly recommend. I'm lucky I had friends urge me to go to Dr. Pang, and that I listened.

Fantastic experience: I appreciated their professionalism, efficiency & kindness. They knew I was only visiting Ashville for a short time while, supporting my daughter & newborn grandson. They gave me an immediate examination, x-ray & helped me understand the cause of my severe pain, with a bonus photo. Unfortunately, I did not qualify for their loan program & the $2,800.00 Cap Dr.Peter Pang suggested wasn't in my budget but, they gifted me a generous goodie bag, with sweet little traveling tools & dental samples. I'm relieved that my belief in the Divinity I Am, with access to Divine abilities to heal, using Dentitox Pro, fluoride free organic toothpaste, coconut oil & Xylitol water swishing, while melting a pinch of Celtic salt (92 minerals) on my tongue before, each glass of personally blessed spring water, I am now out of pain & on the mend! Fantastic experience: I am 73 and have been blessed with some very good dentists in my life in Ohio, Michigan, Colorado, Philadelphia, New Jersey, and now Asheville. Dentistry has advanced phenomenally during my lifetime, and I am so pleased to have landed with Dr. Pang. Although it is early in my experience with him, I have been impressed and delighted with his and his staff’s skills and professional manner. The office itself is an oasis of calm competence. This first visit occurred in May and involved full x-rays and extensive cleaning. A cavity in a back molar that had infiltrated a gold crown was discovered, and my next appointment, a week later was three hours long to fill the cavity and remove and replace the crown. I have had many crowns and root canals in my life so far. I was dismayed to be losing a gold crown, but was incredibly impressed with the imaging work done on my mouth and the crown area. I found out that the reason that a three hour appointment that was scheduled includes a middle break, during which time they were actually able to manufacture the crown and put it in on the same day! First time in my life for that! It fits perfectly, and I am very happy with it. In both visits so far, I have been offered a variety of neck, pillows, and I think three choices of blankets. I told Dr. Pang at the outset that I wanted explanations as he went through everything and wanted to see everything. He kept up a narrative, And was very attentive, professional, and apparently extremely competent.

I felt Dr. Pang was extremely thorough in checking this out and he took the extra time that was needed to explain carefully in layman's terms what was causing the sensitivity. I am very grateful.

We love everyone there, they are all kind, patient(even with my many questions), understanding, and thorough. I have never had a dental experience like I have with Asheville Holistic Dentistry. Unlike many Bio- Dentists, they will file your insurance for you, and we have always received our insurance check in a timely manner. Negative experience: I don't think I have ever written a negative review on Google, but I was extremely disappointed with the service I received here. And I'm hoping to save someone else the emotionally and physically painful experience, along with a Lot of money As an herbalist I was excited to go to a holistic dentist. After going to the other holistic dentist in town, I was surprised that neither one seemed particularly holistic. Besides not offering fluoride (which the other dentist actually recommended, at least this one didn't), the only other "holistic" offering I could tell was that they offer you a blanket, lavender essential oil, and headphones during procedures. However, the second time I went in I had to practically beg for them and the hygienist met me with frustration for asking for them. They recommended I apply MI paste at night but said it has dairy in it, so I couldn't use it if I don't tolerate dairy, which I don't. When I asked if they had other suggestions, they said they had researched it several years ago and found one but couldn't remember what it was. I was thinking why am I paying so much for this?? The hygienist was extremely rough with me in manner and physically in my mouth. When I mentioned it, she blew me off. It wasn't until I actually started tearing up that she apologized. The doctor had little to no bedside manner. I got the feeling that they are only used to working with wealthy people with very good insurance. I was paying out of pocket and was told that the predicted work would cost $12,000 and they recommended I get it done within the next four to six months. Who is actually able to do that? And the way they told me was so blunt. I almost cried several times while talking to the dentist and the financial manager. Apparently no one noticed I was upset. No one offered any support. The only option they gave me was to finance with Cherry, (a financing service similar to CareCredit). Anytime I mentioned anything resembling that I might not be able to financially do that in that time frame, they pressured me, telling me that my teeth might not be able to last that long. My new dentist gave me an estimate for far fewer crowns and fillings, costing $3600 instead of 12,000!!! I had told them that I had a lot of previous trauma around receiving bad dental care and believe I have autoimmune issues that are causing the dental decay. The doctor told me he didn't think I have that autoimmune disease. Then, on another visit. he said oh well maybe. I got a crown for at least a thousand dollars more than other local places charge, then later had to get it adjusted at my new dentist when it was causing pain. So yeah, just more trauma but way more expensive than previous dentists. Now I'm going to Asheville Family Dentistry, recommended by a previous holistic dentist in the area (who believes no one actually offers holistic dentistry here anymore). I have to advocate for what I want and don't want to do, but am pretty happy so far.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Peter Pang is so competent and ahead of his time, I would leave a 10-star review if I could! I suffered with pain and gum inflammation for more than 5 years with a misplaced and mis-sized bridge, spending thousands of dollars on different specialists--from ENTs to oral surgeons to periodontists, and NO ONE could figure out what was wrong. Most just thought it was a gum problem, including the dentist who initially placed the bridge. Enter Dr. Pang, who took one look at the CT scan and knew immediately it was the bridge! As I thought all along!!! Dr. Pang replaced that funky, painful bridge and the new one is PERFECT. Looks great and I don't even know it's there. Healing was fast, too with very little pain afterwards. If you are looking for a talented, kind, compassionate, progressive, skilled, and honest dentist, Dr. Pang is your guy. And, BONUS, he uses no fluoride and no amalgam AT ALL in his practice, plus he incorporates the use of ozone in every procedure. I was a patient of a biologic dentist for years in Florida and I have traveled hundreds of miles to find another one. I am thrilled to have found this man and this practice, right in my own area! The staff here are also awesome. Kind, patient, welcoming, and professional. So a big THANK YOU to all of you. I'm a patient for life. P.S. I always read all reviews and I just scanned some of the previous reviews left by others. To the person who left a 1-star review BASED ON THE OTHER 1-STAR REVIEWS, never having set foot in the office... huh That's a new one on me. To those who whine about the price, well, you get what you pay for... and to those who say he found cavities others did not see, it's because his state-of-the-art diagnosis is precise and thorough, finding the smallest of problems before they become big ones!

Fantastic experience: When I moved to Franklin North Carolina in 2019, I needed a Holistic dentist, and the website for Asheville Holistic Dentistry was impressive. Dr. Pang and the entire team are excellent, and so helpful answering all my questions. I have learned a lot from every hygienist about home dental care. My history includes fillings, crowns, root canals, mercury removal, so I always have many questions as I want to take the best care.

Negative experience: Have gone a few times now. I’m done. The first included basic annual x-rays and my mouth was all cut up and sore for days. (I emailed to let them know.) The most recent time was for a cleaning, and the whole $260 visit took less than 20 minutes and I left feeling like I brushed my teeth myself in a hurry. Nothing holistic about this place and the two hygienists I’ve seen have both been inexperienced and unprofessional. Will not be going back.

Fantastic experience: First time seeing Kim for my hygienist. What a happy experience! Kim is thorough, attentive and genuinely concerned about her patients’ wellbeing. It helps that I had no problems other than things a good cleaning could take care of.

Positive experience: I'm giving them the benefit of doubt, because I didn't complete my first visit. I was looking to learn more about their practices, techniques, and methodology in my first visit, to see if they aligned with how I wanted to treat my body. However, they wouldn't tell me much without first completing there exam. When I said that I didn't like the idea of implants in my body, and were leaning toward dentures or partial, I was told that I could go to affordable dentures and get a cheap set to live with the rest of my life by Dr. Pang himself. And he also asked how I got past their screening process, "didn't they tell you on the phone the first visit is $700". This was insulting to me as though I wasn't in a high enough class to visit their office. I didn't have a problem with their prices, I have a problem for paying more than I want to for something I don't want. To me it doesn't seem like a "holistic" office, it seems they have adapted a few techniques and higher prices to give themselves a different look. As I said I didn't get to experience much with them.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Peter Pang is wonderful! He cares about his patients more than money! I had a dentist telling me I needed a tooth removed and the whole procedure was going to be over $10,000. I have been stressing for 6 months and when they didnt have an appointment for the extraction available I went to Dr. Pang. He explained the problem was from childhood and not an infection and didnt need removed at all. He did a thorough exam and was able to give me an accurate diagnosis looking back at all my records. He saved me money, time, stress, and an extraction I didnt need.

Fantastic experience: From the warm and welcome greeting to the lavender on my bib to the printed care instructions, I felt well taken care of the whole time I was at the office. The SMART Mercury filling removal went as expected and was very efficient. And, leaving with my crown as opposed to a temporary (which is the case in most dentist offices), was an added bonus. Dr. Pang, his staff, and his office are wonderful!

I had a traumatic fall last year creating extreme anxiety over touching teeth that had been knocked out and replaced. They were respectful entirely of this and knew just what to do to help me through this challenge. I couldn’t recommend them highly enough.

Negative experience: This is not an authentic holistic/biological dentist. I had been a patient here since 2020, and while they do use ozone and certain technologies, the level of care I received over the years lacked depth. I have had lots of dental work at a few different dental offices over the past few years due to a car accident and have educated myself on holistic dentistry, as it is in alignment with the way I like to live my life. The point is to be curious and empowered in your decision making in regards to your overall health. A holistic dentist should support this. Up until my last appointment here, I was taken care of by Jen, who no longer works here it seems. She was wonderful and really the only reason I ever returned. I came in for a perio cleaning with someone else and while my teeth were cleaned, they did not floss my dental bridge, and didn't use a laser, which had always been used by Jen in the past and is advertised on their website. I mentioned that a tooth was feeling sensitive and the hygienist made a suggestion which I did appreciate. However, Dr. Pang was called in, looked at my tooth, and immediately suggested gum filler (a surgical procedure) without touching on any other options or ideas. He also made a point to mention that they now offer lip filler, which made me uncomfortable. Overall, the vibes are off here, especially if you are a sensitive, natural person. Upon checkout, I was charged an extra $95 for the few minutes he spent looking at my one tooth. I contested this as it was a surprise to me and the office manager and I spoke privately. She stated that this was a required periodic exam, however it was never mentioned to me when I booked my appointment or during my appointment, and he did not examine my entire mouth. There was not much communication at all during this visit. I emailed them in regards to my experience and my concerns about the lack of communication -- they responded with a dismissive and surprisingly defensive email and even dismissed me as a client, which I would have done myself. If you are looking for a truly holistic dentist that cares about you as a whole person, I have had an excellent experience with Dr. Gorelik in Charlotte, and I've heard that there is a good one in Greenville, SC as well. It's worth the travel to have a healing and positive experience.

Negative experience: Never been here but upon reading the 1 star reviews, i would never want to go here ! My gosh. Sounds like such an awful place. From being offered tums to telling someone they have 12 cavities. Oh heck no. So im adding another 1 star to this place. I'd never expect this from a "Holistic" practice.

Negative experience: I have shared this with many people one on one, as I've been asked about dentists in Asheville, and particularly about "holistic" dentists. This review is late in coming, and I realize that it is important to share so people can make informed decisions, especially about things as important as their teeth. I went to Peter Pang's office in August 2020 for an appointment. Peter told me that I had 12 cavities, more than I've had in my entire life. I asked him if they all needed to be filled, or if some were worse than others, and he said no, that they all needed to be fixed. I was handed an estimate somewhere around $3000. I almost believed Peter, and was about to get half of them filled. I cancelled my appointment, and in a few months had my teeth checked by my childhood dentist, who cared for my teeth from birth until about age 27, and then sporadically from then on. I had the estimate for half of the cavities that Peter "identified," and so my childhood dentist specifically checked those teeth. My childhood dentist said, "you have no cavities, and this dentist should have his license revoked." I've had no cavities drilled and filled, 4 years later. It is possible that I do have a few cavities, TODAY, 4 years later, as I've gone to the ABTech dental clinic and they've identified 3 or 4 areas of concern over the past few years. Still nothing near 12 cavities. I have no explanation of what happened in Peter's office, and I wholeheartedly do not recommend people see him.

Negative experience: I went to this clinic for years. I have held this review back but want others to know there is nothing "holistic" to me about this clinic. Even the toothpaste they recommended had sodium lauryl sulfate in it. I initially went because of the "more holistic" lasers. Only one of my fillings was ever treated with a laser in 4 years. Where should I begin? Three times I arrived and my appointment had mysteriously disappeared. I would show them my email confirmation and they would look at me baffled. This even happened once when I had set up childcare to get a crown put on a tooth. After being told how amazing the crown would be because it could be 3D printed and done in the office, I had to reschedule due to their error and arrive another day. I got there during COVID and was told that I had to swish my mouth out with peroxide so that "I wouldn't spread germs". I have a filling on a front tooth I did not want discolored, so I expressed my concerns. I was told it could not discolor my tooth yet it did. It bleached my tooth by the time I arrived home and I still have a white spot there. They didn't take a picture before I sat down, so how could I prove it? When they were giving me the numbing shot, I told them it takes a little while to make me numb. They told me they were giving me Tums. Tums?! What is holistic about aluminum-ridden, food-dyed Tums? I refused and Dr. Pang slowly backed up, acting like it was crazy to refuse them and asked me "why?" I said I actually help people get off Tums, I'm a Naturopath. He and the assistant treated me like I wasn't even there after that, very hurried and rude. I have since been back many times to tell them the crown has always hurt since day one. They had the woman at the front desk look at it for me instead of the dentist every time and she told me it must be a surrounding tooth. I have never felt more gaslit or like I overpaid for general services another dentist could easily provide for much less; and in fact have had much better service with much lower payments at other dentists since then. The last thing I will say is that I had a $900 custom night guard fitted from them that was 3D printed and it cracked within a couple months. Maybe I've had worse experiences than others, but I keep having a feeling to share what has happened to me here and why I will never go back.

Fantastic experience: This is probably the best dental clinic in the world. I had a wonderful experience overall, and my crown looks perfect and healthy just a couple of days after treatment. One of my molars suddenly broke, and I needed to find help on short notice. From the first visit onwards, Dr. Pang was clear and honest about my situation. He provided his professional advice without trying to turn my emergency into a sales pitch and sent me home with all the information I needed to make an informed decision. Eventually, I decided to make an appointment for the crown installation. They make the crowns in the clinic, and the whole procedure didn’t last more than a couple of hours. The assistant made sure I was comfortable and relaxed at all times before, during, and after the procedure. They provided me with headphones with my favorite playlist, lavender essential oil, and a weighted blanket for relaxation. She was also incredibly professional when it was time to choose the color for my new crown, ensuring it was a true match. I’ve been to various places throughout my life and have had a range of procedures done, from minor to severe. Yet this place was the first to combine the most kind staff with the most professional care. I was amazed by how they truly live up to their name, maintaining a holistic approach to care from start to finish. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone seeking dental care. **Nearly two months have passed since my procedure, and the results remain outstanding.

Everyone was so nice, very informative and customized my care to suit my needs. For someone who has terrible dentist anxiety this was such a valuable experience. Definitely trusting them with my dental care from now on.

Negative experience: Rather than an honest reply they claim they don't have a patient by this name at the office. Well, duh, I don't typically go around putting my legal name on the Internet. But don't take my word for it, just ask around. I know more people who've left this dentist than who've stayed. For too long I misguidedly thought the paying top dollar was getting me top quality service. I should have had a second opinion sooner. It's insane to think how much money I wasted. Do not let this dentist charge you a penny for work without getting a second opinion. He had been telling me for 2 years that I had a failed crown and a serious cavity that was going to need to be three surfaces, until this year when he told me the cavity was so bad that there "wasn't enough tooth left for a filling" and I was going to need a second crown. They quoted me over $4,000 to do the two crowns. Fortunately getting a second opinion from a three dentist team prevented me from going into debt over work that wasn't ever necessary. The crown had not failed. There were no signs or symptoms. The supposed cavity next to it, which also had no symptoms, was never actually a cavity, just a shadow on the X-ray from the existing crown next to it. The 3 dentist team could have easily stolen my money because I showed up believing I needed two crowns. Instead I paid for a cleaning and got many dozens of digital X-rays and a full panoramic 3D scan which, together with 3 dentist's opinions proved that this "holistic" dentist at the very least did not know what he was talking about, despite having perpetuated such a detailed story about the ill health of those two symptom-free teeth over the course of two years. It's painful to think of how many thousands I've wasted with this guy. Just don't take anything on face value and get at least a second opinion.

Fantastic experience: This was truly a phenomenal dental experience. A veneer on my front tooth popped off on Saturday and was not to be found. It was one of four on the top row that had been put on about 15 years ago. Needless to say, I was pretty freaked out, especially since I could not do anything until Monday. I had a whole list of dentists that I had researched lined up to call. Then I found Dr. Peter Pang at Asheville Holistic Dentist. This was the best possible news for two important reasons: Holistic dentists focus on more than the issue at hand. The holistic dentist sees the mouth and the materials in the mouth as an integral part of a patient's whole body health. The second reason is that Dr. Pang had received glowing reviews. I can see why and am adding to those. When I called first thing Monday, they got me in quickly for a consultation and scheduled the procedure three days later. And Dr. Pang discovered cavities underneath the other veneers, which had to be addressed. What a team of professionals Dr. Pang has on board! They care about your well-being and take pride in their work. Everyone was kind, helpful and, best of all, quite knowledgeable. Dr. Pang's work is top notch. I am so pleased with the results and still a bit stunned by how well everything came together, and how quickly. I could not recommend this amazing team more highly. Thank you, Asheville Holistic Dentist. You guys are the best!

Fantastic experience: This is an amazing practice and that is saying a lot since I’m terrified of anything dental. Very kind, thoughtful people from the receptionist, Courtney , dental assistant , Taylor, and of course very impressive Dr. Peter Pang.

Negative experience: The good stuff: the office staff is pleasant, the office and the treatment rooms are clean and have a calming ambiance. Their imaging technology is sophisticated and as non-invasive as possible. I got to keep pictures and scans that helped me really see what was happening in my mouth. Unfortunately, I would not consider this location "holistic" and to be fair, I did have high expectations for my visit because they marketed holistic. That word carries a lot of weight to me. That a provider would go the extra mile in care for a whole-body approach to oral health. As a new patient, I was never asked my current oral health routine by anyone. I was not surprise I was also not offered advice on how to improve my routine or any holistic approaches to try such as oil pulling, or clove mouthwash, etc. I was offered sample tablets to take overnight to maintain good oral flora, however, I wasn't looking for a pill. While the office staff was friendly, ultimately, I felt like just another set of teeth to work on and could have simply dialed 1-800-DENTIST and received the same level of interest in me and my oral well being. Again, I was coming to them with intentions of a higher level of care than your run-of-the-mill dental establishment. I didn't like having conversations about my body with the dentist sitting in my peripheral while I was reclined and craning my neck. It didn't feel like a caring conversation setup when meeting for the first time. I prefer face forward conversation with my medical providers about expectations and intentions before diving into treatment. After the exam, the exact procedures details were left to be explained by the hygienist. The dentist said we'll be doing a lot of "cleaning up" and then left. After he left I had to ask the hygienist what the plan was. Surprisingly she said 6 crowns, 2 fillings, and a night guard. I was stunned and didn't get the sense that my teeth were in that bad of shape while with the dentist. Plus, that was probably $15k worth of dental work. Was it all immediate? Absolutely necessary? What was the plan? A timeline? Were my teeth going to fall out if I waited? I had so many questions and felt like my time was up and I had to go. No debrief with the actual dentist who is the person I'm looking to for my oral health. The hygienist was nice, but I didn't go there to see her, I went there to understand my oral health make a good, reasonable plan with the dentist. Maybe that's just the way this office runs normally. As a person who actively seeks holistic health care alternatives I was surprised to learn they offer Botox injections as an option/answer to teeth grinding. At my second visit to get 2 fillings, I was also surprised when I turned out to be a nervous patient with him, that I would be prescribed an anti-anxiety medication before being able to have fillings completed because my body was rejecting the numbing injections. A first for me, by the way. I would never expect those kinds of solutions at a true holistic medical site. The dentist said my body was emotionally rejecting the solution, (which I appreciated communication about), and then gave an unexpected ultimatum to take medication before he could see me again. I was emotional already and the bluntness of it was jarring. His delivery of the initial numbing needle was excellent though and I hardly felt a thing. I realized later I was nervous because I didn't think he even knew he was working on me, Kelly. Like he didn't actually see a person there, just a mouth. I wanted to feel cared for, but did not. I was two fillings at 3pm. I barely think he took the time to look me in the eye before diving in and that was not the bedside manner I am used to. So, apparently my mind and body rejected the injections and we couldn't move forward. Maybe I'm just a person who needs a little more communication and TLC than your average patient. I'm an empathic person by nature and listen to my gut when making decisions. I will not be returning, however, I'm glad for anyone else who had a good experience at this location.

Positive experience: Beautiful office and staff! I experienced a consultation and felt everyone involved was caring, thorough and professional. Dr. communicated honestly and well. I can recommend this practice based on my consultation.

Fantastic experience: Saved my tooth from being extracted! I went for a 2nd opinion for a tooth that I was having pain with and another dentist said I needed an extraction or a root canal. They didn’t even address that the pain could be caused from grinding in my sleep like this dentist noted. The other dentist just did a few tests and an x-ray and was about to have me extract a major tooth. Thankfully I didn’t rush to do that. After careful examination and re-looking at the x-ray, it was determined by Asheville Holistic Dentist that this tooth was going to be OK. I also used holistic remedies to help heal it. I recently had a cleaning too and it was awesome, she also used ozone on this tooth to keep it healing:). It may cost a little more but so worth it to save my teeth !
