Fantastic experience: I relocated to Asheville and had a concern from a previous treatment in another city. I was able to get scheduled and seen in a matter of a couple of days. The team on site were fantastic. From the check in process with Maria and Courtney, and Thomas, my dental assistant, and Dr. Frank and Dr. Marc. When my concern was still being assessed, Dr. Frank had Dr. Marc step in and he immediately recognized what my underlying issue was. In a matter of minutes, it was corrected and I was sent on my way pain free. I have scheduled my new patient exam and cleaning, and am excited to have found this amazing team and convenient office. Great job to all involved. It was much appreciated and anxiety free. THANK YOU!!

Fantastic experience: It really sucks when you break a tooth and have to have it extracted, but it happened to me and I cannot express how wonderful the staff makes you feel informed and comfortable during YUCKY situations! They treat you like family and if you need multiple procedures, they can handle it all!!!

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience at this dental office. The entire staff was friendly, helpful, and professional. Dr. Marc Gonzalez took a great deal of time to talk with me, answer my questions, and help me feel comfortable making a decision about my care. Thomas was also wonderful during my assessment for a mouth appliance. He was patient, thorough, and made the process easy to understand. My dental hygienist (who's name has escaped me) was friendly, informative, and did an excellent job cleaning my teeth. I truly appreciated how much time and care everyone gave me. Fantastic experience: A thoroughly professional and positive group of people at Embark. Their patience and thoroughness made the visit so much better than most dental visits. Dr. Frank Gamboa spent a great deal of time explaining procedures and options, and put me at ease about the best way to proceed with a troublesome tooth. On an earlier day, Diana had taken the time to process my paperwork when the office wasn't actually open, making the appointment even more efficient and streamlined. Megan as well was quite helpful. Just a great space with lots of positive energy.

Fantastic experience: Consistently great dentist— and, last week I chipped my front tooth, first thing when they opened they got me scheduled to see Dr Marc and he fixed it so you cannot see a trace of the chip, I was in and out in less than 30 min, and it was completely painless. Really highly recommend Dr Marc! Also his staff has told me he’s a dental nerd and loves learning about and using the latest tech, so I’m always glad to know I’m going to someone who is up to speed on the latest practices, and loves learning about it!

Fantastic experience: For years, I had settled for okay dental care. Yet as I get older, I had come to a crossroad where I knew I deserved better. After speaking to a coworker, I stepped away from my previous dentist and gave Dr. Mark a try. His office staff is amazing and very kind. This if an office staff that knows what is going on. There were no questions about insurance coverage, something that my former dentist was challenged with. But the most amazing aspect of this dental practice was their latest technology and specialties in all areas of dental care. They will create a dental plan that meets your needs and financial care. I had three crowns replaced that were all on the lower left side of my mouth and had metal fillings replaced. He found a cavity under a previous crown I received three years earlier. It was a lot of work. Listening to Dr. Mark work with his technicians and other staff members was so comforting. He treated everyone with respect and was so positive. I am so happy that I took this leap of faith and look forward to completing my dental care plan.

Fantastic experience: This was my 2nd visit; this time with Dr. Gonzalez; I had 2 fillings done - amazingly - without the numbing injections. He used this new laser machine and it was amazing. I did not feel a thing and I normally always have numbing injections done but this was outstanding. Now I won't be nervous about any future visits. Staff were also exceptional. Cant say enough GREAT things about Embark.

Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of working with Julie and Dr. Nguyen. They’re really knowledgeable and help me understand my teeth more than any dentist ever did. They pay attention to detail and are open and honest and I love that. They have been taking really good care of my teeth. Super thorough. The office is clean and organized. The staff at the front desk are very welcoming. I highly recommend this dentist! They do an amazing job overall!

Negative experience: If you have medical concerns, don't go to this practice. The front desk is not willing to work with you or show compassion if you have a medical necessity. They are more concerned about procedures and policies than their patient's welfare.

Fantastic experience: I am from out of town and had a cracked tooth and filling was deteriorating. Dr. Marc saw me within a few days. He removed my old filling and created a crown for my molar in less than 2 hours. Everyone was very professional & explained my options. Special thanks to Thomas and Diana who made my visit pleasant.

Fantastic experience: The dental hygienists are so incredibly gentle but thorough. There’s never any wait time if you arrive on time. Dr Mark is so nice, the prices are less than our previous dental chain, and I feel there’s such better care. I’ve already recommended my uncle and would recommend and friend who wants a quality dentist without breaking the bank. Also love their coffee bar.

Fantastic experience: There is not enough amazing things that I can say about my experience with this awesome team!! From being greeted by the warmest people Maria and Emma, to being educated and cared for by the best dental hygienist Julie, the thorough breakdown and options presented by Dr. Gonzalez during my examination and the absolutely charismatic manager Diana who adores her team and strives for excellence through my entire process, has left me feeling like I was in the best care. Negative experience: I wish I could tell you the quality of their dentist, but the train wreck of their internal operations staff and their inappropriate procedures kept me from even seeing their dentist. Three months before my first appointment I asked them to check my insurance coverage because it's out of state. They refused and said that they would do that a month before the appointment … if I reminded them. I did remind them at the one-month mark, and they could not navigate my insurance company's authorization process. My previous dentist had been doing it fine for four years so it's squarely a problem at Embark Dental. Three days before the appointment they asked me to send pictures of my insurance card, which I did. But it wasn't until the morning of the appointment that they texted me to say that they (mistakenly) thought my insurance only covered medical. That’s an odd assumption considering that my insurance company had been paying my dental bills for the previous four years. When I arrived at their office, they still had not managed the simple navigation of a Blue Shield insurance agency. They wanted me to give them a credit card. They were basically saying that since they were so incompetent that they could not determine that I was actually covered for dental, they wanted to be able to tag my credit card to cover their inabilities. Then they wanted to digitize my driver's license. I am a former designated security officer for the Air Force, I have spent my whole life in high tech, and I know that digitized IDs are the new form of ID theft. When I declined to let them digitize my driver's license, they said that would be a requirement. I left. Save yourself the problem of leaving their office by not going there to begin with. You'll also save yourself a ton of unnecessary aggravation.

Fantastic experience: As a new patient I was pleasnetly surprised with how much I liked this practice. I met two doctors as well as my hygienist who were all very knowledgeable and gave me lots of useful information about things I didn’t even know I needed! I go to the dentist routinely and just recently switched to embark. The team informed me of some of my oral health I had never heard before yet had always been a factor. The front desk crew was also so very helpful and patient with my paperwork. I also got puppy snuggles while waiting in the waiting room! 5 stars

Fantastic experience: I’ve had many bad experiences at dentist offices before, but this place more than exceeded my expectations! I had a family member refer me here, and now I understand why she did. The entire office, specifically Dr. Marc, Kortny, and Diana were more than helpful. Dr Marc and Kortny helped walk me through what I needed done, and helped me establish a long term plan, while also reminding me that we only need to go one step at a time so it’s not so overwhelming. They both really listened to all of my concerns and truly cared and what I had to say. They wanted to hear about my personal goals for my teeth, like longevity and alignment, not just checking the box and getting me out of the door. Diana was great when checking out as well, she was able to help me with all my insurance needs, helped me look at my finances, and provided estimates for procedures. This office gained my trust very quickly, I’m looking forward to referring my friends and family there and working with them in the future.

Fantastic experience: 5 stars from start to finish! Easy to find, plenty of parking. Staff was all super nice and helpful. My dental hygienist (her name slipped my mind, but I believe she was from Maine) was very smart and gentle. She provided so much insight into everything she was doing and tips for the future. She was very kind and made me feel very comfortable. The dentist was very transparent about what I needed done and provided options. I didn’t feel pressured to make one decision or another. They all did great work! I am a travel nurse so I oftentimes have to go to new practices and I am very pleased with this office. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: My hygienist (Julie) was very thorough and patiently explained everything and listened to me without judgement. Dr. Marc was also very thorough and kind. They are very flexible and willing to get you in whenever they can. I had to reschedule this appointment due to issues with my dental insurance, but they were understanding and happy to put me back on the schedule asap. The communication here is phenomenal!

Fantastic experience: Overall a fantastic dentist experience, the hygienist Julie communicated very clearly and was quite thorough with cleaning and imaging. Dr Marc was also very thorough double checking everything as he went and explained the plan and steps to take. I've been going here over 2 years now and couldn't be more satisfied with the quality of work they've provided on my teeth, both dentistry and orthodontal (Invisalign). What's great is they use latest technology as well, for imaging and other procedures. I would recommend to any of my family and friends.

Negative experience: Watch out: I went in for a routine cleaning expecting it to be fully covered under my insurance (preventive care at 100%), but was told there is a mandatory $31 “new patient fee” for intraoral photos. This fee is not billed through insurance (because they know it’s usually not covered) and must be paid out of pocket. This was not disclosed ahead of time, which was frustrating. Patients should be clearly informed of any required, non-covered charges before their appointment. I chose not to proceed. It’s not about the amount, but about transparency and billing practices. Based on my experience and similar concerns mentioned in other reviews, I will find a dentist that has less sketchy billing practices.

Fantastic experience: Dr. VIVIAN and Jamie were pleasant, professional and very efficient. The entire office was busy but the staff were all very friendly from the time I arrived and throughout my appt. This was my first appointment and I am very pleased to say I will continue to go there.

Negative experience: Doesn't honor appointments. Don’t expect transparency or reliability. I scheduled an appointment with Embark Dental 6 months in advance, but upon returning from a trip, I find a text that my appointment had been canceled because I didn’t confirm 5 days ahead of time. Nowhere in the booking process was I informed about the need for such an early confirmation, and to make matters worse, the cancellation was only communicated through text. This lack of clear communication and professionalism is completely unacceptable. I will no longer be returning to Embark Dental and would advise others to be cautious when dealing with their appointment system and customer service. I expect better transparency and respect for patients’ time.

Fantastic experience: Family of five, have been coming to Embark Dental since February 2025… I have only good things to say about Dr. Mark and his team… They do thorough cleanings, are friendly, have spent time figuring out the cause of some complaints my kids have had with their teeth, have diagnosed a couple of issues that went undetected by other dentists as well . I also appreciate Dr. Mark giving me time to ask lots of questions, as I never feel rushed. In this past year, we have gone for scheduled cleanings, fillings, a crown, and a separate consultation about orthodontics… I feel all five of us have been well taken care of. When the office manager‘s dog is in house, it’s an especially fun visit.

Fantastic experience: If I could give 10 stars, I would! Embark Dental was the absolute best dentist office j have ever been to! I have a major fear of dentist and was extremely nervous going in…so nervous, I almost cancelled! As soon as I got in the chair, Victoria made me feel completely at ease. She talked through everything she was about to do so I knew what to expect and she was extremely knowledgeable. We actually had a great time laughing and I really forgot I was in the dentist chair! Then Michael comes in and adds even more to the experience! His voice is very calming and he was super fun and knowledgeable as well. They made me feel much more confident when I thought I was going to be judged for waiting so long to get back to the dentist. Dr. Gonzalez was also fantastic! He took his time and discussed several options for future visits…different cost levels and pros and cons of each. The office manager took the time to talk through options as well and was great. Seriously, if you have a fear of dentist like I did, please go to Embark…you will not be disappointed!

Fantastic experience: This is the best experience I’ve ever had at a dental practice. I am so pleased with the cleaning and consultation I received with Emma and Dr. Vivian. Fantastic experience: Embark dental is amazing!!! I was having tooth pain and called a couple places and no one was able to get me in except embark!!! They fit me in within 30 minutes! I got there and everyone was super friendly and once they got my insurance organized and found all the information for me (I had lost my new insurance card) they got me in and had the pain removed and extracted my tooth and did some other things (which is what I wanted to do.) All in all very happy with how everyone treated me and how nice they were! :)

Fantastic experience: Update...love this practice and my hygienist. She is the most knowledgeable and gentle practitioner I've ever known. My appointments so far have only been for aligners. I will be having a regular cleaning and exam in May, so will post further. The staff is very welcoming, and my treatments with Dr Mark have been excellent. The equipment and procedures are state of the art. I was also treated to an evaluation for sleep apnea, which could be very helpful.

Fantastic experience: Embark Dental continues to exceed my expectations with each and every visit. From the moment you enter the office you are welcomed by the front desk employees namely Olivia and Courtney. Diana, who manages the front desk, is both enthusiastic and knowledgeable on all aspects of dental insurance plans. She is always available to answer any questions I may have about my particular plan. Kortny, the hygienist cleaned my teeth with precision and offered suggestions on my dental care going forward including a prescription toothpaste that I now use on a daily basis. Thomas is an exceptional technician who works closely with Dr Marc. Last but not least is Dr. Marc. I am pleased with his office staff and the openness he shows his patients. He answered all my questions and I always leave feeling great about my experience at his practice!

Negative experience: I made an appointment in September as a new patient for January the next year. The day before the appointment they called to ask if I would like to come in an hour later. They told me that my appointment time was no longer available. This is after numerous calls over the past few months asking if I would like a different appointment time which I declined. They continually sent messages stating that they charge if a patient cancels without 48 hours notice but apparently they don't feel the need to keep their side of the agreement.

Negative experience: The billing and insurance department never did what they said they would. First with my husband the collected what was due at the end of his visit. Then a couple weeks later we get a bill in the mail for more money. He called them about it and they said they did not want to lose a patient so they would take care of the balance due. Then I went a couple of weeks later I told them to run everything by my insurance to know what would be approved so there would be no surprises. I called five times about this and X-rays before I went in. I got there they charged me 31.00 for pictures and that was to be the only charge as they said over the phone. Two weeks later I get a bill in the mail saying I owed them money. So I called my insurance company and asked about the bill. First they told me the office never called for pre approval allowances and that there coding was excessive. That there were others codes that were more appropriate for my profile. I go to the dentist regularly and also I had just been to Endodontics to have work and full X-rays done at both places. So I did not need the procedure code they used. Now they have decided to charge for my husband waved charges and my and threaten with turning us over to a third party (credit agency). We are both almost 70 years old on a supplemental united healthcare Medicare insurance and have to watch how billing issues go because we can be taken advantage of. Beware this is an issue with this billing insurance department.

Fantastic experience: I had a cleaning with Courtney at Embark Dental. She was gentle and explained everything as she went along. Her positive nature encouraged me to continue my cleaning routine. She also introduced me to a new product, GUM easy thread, to floss my bridge. It is so much better!!! Dr Mark was his usual friendly and perfectionist self. Great experience!

Fantastic experience: This morning started off like any other typical Tuesday. "Hey Brit, how are you this morning?" My reply: Wonderful! I went to Embark yesterday, they placed my permanent crown. Its perfect! I can not wait to go back in January for my cleaning. No pain, no sensitivity, they are so amazing! Here, I grabbed extra cards take one! I mean really? Who boasts about skipping merrily out of the dentist office and being excited for their next visit? THIS CHIC RIGHT HERE! My child's dentist handed me the Embark card and told me to check them out because "I deserved it"...Im not sure what I did to deserve crossing this path, but I sure am glad I did it. Amazing, genuine, heartfelt and full of compassion...the team at Embark are truly remarkable. I mean it 100% I cannot wait to go back!

Thomas and Jamie were excellent in their care and thoroughness and Dr. Marc is extremely knowledgeable and capable. They also worked with my very particular schedule and immediate needs. Fantastic experience: I have been a patient of Dr. Marc for two years. Him and his staff are so nice and knowledgeable. Last year I had a dental emergency and Dr. Marc met me at the office on a Saturday. Very thankful. Dr. Marc is knowledgeable on the latest technology. Fantastic experience: If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Such an amazing dentist. Dr. Gonzalez is straight forward,honest , and to the point. I took my son to him today, after no one would help from other dentists offices. He pulled one tooth and went above and beyond for my son's teeth I helping us find an oral surgeon. I feel extremely blessed to have met him. His staff was extremely nice and helpful. The office is so clean and the atmosphere is calming and welcoming. Fantastic experience: This was an amazing experience! The front desk staff, Dr. Gonzalez, and especially the hygienist Emma were all very friendly! I didn't feel shamed at all, like I sometimes do by dental staff. For the first time in my life, everything that was happening in a dental appointment was thoroughly explained to me without even having to ask. They even showed me pictures of my teeth and problem areas so I could actually see what they were talking about! Will definitely come back!

Negative experience: I provided all my info over their emails and texts and yet I had to do it all over again in the office. They also try to charge you things your insurance covers unless you know what your insurance covers. I still don’t understand why they charge 31.00 as a new patient charge but I knew that ahead of time. They said it was initial pictures but nothing exceptional was done.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Mark and his staff are absolutely wonderful! I had a few fillings done using their laser machine—it was awesome and completely painless. More recently, I had crowns done on my two front teeth, and they did an amazing job. One of my temporary crowns cracked the next morning while I was at breakfast, and even though the office was closed that day, they went out of their way to have someone open up just to fix it! I’ve since received my permanent crowns, and they fit perfectly—you can’t even tell I ever had anything done. My front teeth look completely natural and flawless. I couldn’t be happier with the care, attention, and kindness from Dr. Mark and his team!

Positive experience: Everyone was very nice at the office. No one likes going to the dentist but they make you feel comfortable and everything is bright and clean. They explain anything you have questions about. I couldn’t give 5 starts because a portion of my appointment did get pushed back a bit so I had to reschedule that position for another day. But they were very accommodating otherwise. I would recommend if you are looking for a well equipped, professional, clean and kind dental office.

Fantastic experience: Just had my first visit here and it was great! The front desk staff were amazing and were able to resolve an insurance issue really quickly. The hygienist explained everything thoroughly yet was fast at the same time. The doctor did a more in depth check than any other DMD I’ve seen and was the only one able to tell me why one of my teeth has been hurting for years (and he noticed within the first ten seconds) and the only one to offer a solution. So glad I chose this practice! :)

Fantastic experience: First visit here, staff and doctor (dentist) are very friendly and welcoming, and felt like I am taken care of here, have to go back and have a tooth extracted and will be coming back here for future dental care. The third time back for cleaning and inspection of the tooth canal after extraction and have to say again I am very happy with the care and concern everyone has here just welcoming and better experience here after the years I was going to another dentist very disappointed with the time and time issues and back and forth for a root canal that didn't happen anyway Marc Gonzalez and his staff are awesome! and so glad I found this place!

Fantastic experience: Amazing service!! I went here for my first dentist visit in many years and they were so nice, helpful and made me feel comfortable. I came back today and got my wisdom teeth removed and Dr Marc was phenomenal, he was so quick, he listened to me and my needs throughout the whole procedure. All of the ladies at the front desk were also awesome, they were upfront about the pricing and quoted me the most I’d have to pay before I came in so I was delightfully surprised when I found out the total was lower after they had been abstracted. Everyone was very professional but also caring, as well as the office was clean and inviting. Best dentist I’ve ever seen, can’t recommend them enough !

Fantastic experience: It was my first visit at embark dental I had a great experience. Emma did a great job cleaning my teeth. Dr. Mark went over my treatment plan in detail. They had time and bleach, my teeth on the same day. I highly recommend embark. I’m very pleased with my cleaning and my whitening. Everybody was very sweet..

Negative experience: As an established patient with Embark, a recent non-emergency visit dental exam only, w/one Xray was very very expensive using their $99 plan. Although the office and dentist are nice enough, I would strongly suggest shopping prices before even considering this office. And read the other low star reviews.

Fantastic experience: I had initially come here Because my previous dentist referred me to another doctor for a root canal. Since they did not take my insurance, I went looking and found Embark. Upon examination, Dr Mark told me that in reality all I needed was a crown. Saved me a lot of money and a lot of pain! Fast forward and now I’m a patient here and getting my first cleaning today. My, hygienist, Kortney, was fantastic. She Was very thorough and cheerful as she took me through all the usual x-rays and scans and inspections prior to cleaning. She did a fantastic job with the cleaning, including a new technology that I’ve never seen that micro- blasts, the yuck off my teeth. did a fantastic job cleaning my teeth. Then she did another scan of my teeth to get a 3-D model that she could show me all the details of everything she sees on the screen right there. Some of it’s great to see and some of it’s humbling because I thought I was brushing better than that! After showing me some other things that they can offer in terms of services to straighten my teeth and do nifty things, she sent me out with a welcome bag of goodies. And the best thing was I didn’t have a bill because my insurance covered it. Thanks, Embark!

Diana was so kind to me, and went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. Dr Mark had to remove 3 of my teeth, he was very kind and professional.
