Fantastic experience: I am constantly impressed with the quality of the office and staff. My son is 3 and we have been every six months since he was 1. We always have incredibly positive experiences. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: It was my son’s first visit to the dentist ever. The way that Nancy at the front desk approached him and explained everything prior to the visit was very helpful to get him comfortable. She was great! The dentist hygienist, Ashley, was incredible, such a calm and caring person, she led my son through everything single step as he participated and carefully watched everything that was going on, that’s the type of value I was looking for.

Fantastic experience: Really beautiful, clean dental office. The staff was very welcoming and efficient. The dental hygienist were great with the kids and explained everything along the way and calm and sweet voices. My kids got a bunch of little gifts and were made to feel very comfortable with shows during cleaning. Dr. Van was incredibly warm with the children and gave a thorough breakdown of everything. My kids left feeling like the dentist was a fun place to go.

Fantastic experience: We love Dr. Van Orenstein! He has an excellent way to help kids overcome their dental fear. My son had his tooth extraction today and was very nervous. However Dr. Van made the entire process so quick and easy that my kid couldn’t believe that it was over within 15 minutes. Thank you Dr. Van!

Fantastic experience: If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. My son had a frightening accident — he fell off his bike and broke two front teeth. As a parent, it was one of those moments where you feel completely helpless. I called Dr. Kaitlin's office in a panic, and without hesitation, she shuffled her entire schedule to fit him in right away. What followed was nothing short of exceptional. Dr. Kaitlin performed an emergency pulpotomy with such calm, precision, and care that my son — who was understandably shaken — felt at ease throughout. She didn't stop there. She personally consulted with other endodontists to make absolutely sure nothing was overlooked in his care plan. That level of thoroughness speaks volumes. She scheduled careful follow-ups to monitor his gum and root recovery, and when it came time for the fillings, the result was remarkable. You genuinely cannot tell he ever broke his front teeth. The match to his natural teeth is flawless. Beyond the clinical excellence, what stood out was her communication — she kept us informed at every step, answered every question, and made us feel like we were in the best possible hands. Her support team matched her energy entirely: warm, efficient, and genuinely caring. Dr. Kaitlin is the kind of dentist you hope you never need urgently — and are incredibly grateful for when you do. Highly, highly recommend her and the entire staff along with Dr.Van.

Fantastic experience: Newton Pediatric Dentistry is so organized, so caring, and every person from the front desk to the dentists and hygienists are calm and kind and supportive to our kids. We have been there since age 4, for both kids and they adjust as needed for the different sensitivities and any nerves the kids have for anything from cleanings to fillings. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: First time I brought my daughter to see Dr. Van, she was just 2 years and 10 months old—she’s 13 and a half now. She actually enjoys going to the dentist, which says everything. Dr. Van has been incredible throughout the years. Thanks to him, Hannah has already completed her orthodontic treatment—he coordinated the entire process seamlessly. He always follows up, returns calls, and takes the time to answer every question. Truly a wonderful experience from start to finish, with a fantastic office and an exceptional level of care. I can’t recommend him highly enough.

Fantastic experience: We absolutely love Newton Pediatric Dentistry and are thrilled that we switched from another practice. Our 3.5 year old daughter was truly afraid of the dentist, but Dr. Van and his team - specifically Jen and Yolanda - made her experience so wonderful. We took her to multiple desensitization visits, per their recommendation, and seeing her proactively climb into the dentist's chair without fear (or tears) is all because of how amazing the team is.

Fantastic experience: Great for kids with sensory processing issues! We love Newton Pediatric Dentistry for for our Autistic 4 year old for many reasons. 1) their office and treatment rooms are uncluttered, warmly decorated, and calm. 2) the hygienist slowly shows the child every tool, lets them feel it and ask questions s. 3) the staff are all child-centered in their approach, really talking to the kid and engaging in a calm and friendly non-invasive way. 4)the rooms all have TV above the chair so a child can watch cartoons if they would like to be distracted during their cleaning. 5) they offer a great deal where you can pay $400/year for your child which covers 2 cleanings, fluoride, and routine x-rays. I wish there were places like this when I was a kid. If your child is sensitive, Autistic , or otherwise benefits from a calm and organized environment (and who doesn’t?!) I highly recommend you check this practice out. We actually tried a practice covered by our insurance and it was SO far below the quality of care here that we switched right back.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Van and his team are excellent! They made sure to make it a great experience for my son! Even the front desk staff are so welcoming. They even asked my son if he liked Mindcraft and went out of their way to print off sheets for him to color. Our experience everytime has by far exceeded expectations.

Fantastic experience: I have two neurospicy kids and we are all anxious in our family. This is the best dentist we have found- after four tries and 8 years of dentists! And we have kids with tricky teeth historically. Worth the commute. Both kids go to the dentist successfully and are cheerful on leaving. We’ve been through some complicated tooth stuff and Dr Van has steered us through it with patience and a lot of careful discussion. He always has the time for questions and always remembers our family. The staff are excellent, there’s coffee for adults and a cozy corner for kids, the space is very cheerful and beautiful. Highly recommend Dr Van and team!

Fantastic experience: We just had our first appointment with our 16 month old and it went so well. We were greeted with a little sign that had our daughter’s name on it, a tour of the waiting room and office, and we even got a cute Polaroid picture together! Everyone was so friendly and warm. I’ve had a really long and scary dental journey until recently and it was important to me to take my daughter somewhere where she would have positive experiences so she doesn’t dread the dentist. I think we hit the jackpot!

Fantastic experience: Dr Van and his hygienists could not be more amazing! My daughters are 15 and 13 and we have been happily going here for a few years. Recently my oldest broke her front tooth and Dr Van meticulously took the time to rebuild it, resulting in a gorgeous new tooth. Most importantly, he really cared that my daughter was completely satisfied with the end result, which she definitely was! Soooo grateful to have found a dental practice that is this incredible!

Fantastic experience: My 9yo had a very good experience with Dr Van today. He came highly recommended from other friends with neurodivergent kids. He was patient and explained each step of the process. We had gone a few months ago for a “meet & greet” to get comfortable and another visit to check her teeth. Then today was a sealant and filling a cavity. We had been going to another pediatric dentist office but we lost trust in them after our last visit which felt very rushed.

Fantastic experience: Dr Orenstein and his team at Newton Pediatric Dentistry are truly amazing. My three kids have been going there for years and it’s always a great, stress-free experience. The cleanings are gentle and friendly, even the rare cavity visits go really well. Kids always come out happy, they get to watch a show while getting their teeth cleaned and get a prize at the end. Their office is lovely and has plenty of dedicated parking spots. Definitely worth the drive from Wellesley!

The kids have a lot of autonomy at this office; they pick toothpaste flavors, what color sunglasses to wear, what to watch on TV (yes! There’s a tv on the ceiling!), etc. the medical care is exceptional and I always get my “parent” questions answered. I highly recommend Newton Pediatric Dentistry.

(And he gets to pick a show to watch on the TV on the ceiling... what could be better?? Haha.) Communication with everyone from front desk to Dr. Van is always easy and clear. We've gotten super responsive and generous help outside of business hours when needed. Unreservedly recommend.

Fantastic experience: My 7 year old went to another pediatric dentist when she was 3. Didn’t let them touch her and ran out. So we were afraid to take her again and she was terrified of getting her teeth looked at. So after a long negotiation, we found Dr. Van and his team online and came in. Wow! Dental hygienist took her time and showed my kid everything and explain the process in easy kid lingo. My kid had her teeth cleaned, polished and x-rayed in no time! What an amazing place! Recommend one million percent!

Fantastic experience: Can’t say enough good things about Dr Van and the whole team at Newton Pediatric Dentistry. We have been coming for the last 5 years for all 3 of our kids. We moved to NYC 2 years ago and still go here when we visit - it’s that good! Dr Van is a magician with the kids (my kids are very squirmy and were afraid of the dentist it), all the hygienists are super nice and patient and the office itself is beautiful and made for kids with a little playroom and coloring. They have thought of everything to make going to the dentist a good experience for the kids (and parents). Amazing and helpful front desk team as well! Just the best place!

When my daughter was four years old, she had multiple cavities and significant anxiety around dental visits. For any parent navigating a child’s dental anxiety, I cannot recommend his office highly enough. His patience, expertise, and kindness have provided us with an invaluable sense of peace. Fantastic experience: We LOVE our dentist. Dr Van is the best and all the team members are super nice and welcoming and great with kids. My only gripe is that they went out of network with all insurance providers- which means that we are paying a lot more in dental bills (typically we would have double coverage for pediatric dentistry- but instead we only have OON benefits)… so that’s a huge bummer, but I guess it says a lot that we chose to stay even when they went out of network!

Fantastic experience: We had a fantastic experience with our toddlers first appointments here! The office is beautiful and clean, the waiting area is perfect for kids of all ages with many activities and everyone is warm and welcoming from the office staff, to hygienists and doctors! The treatment rooms are set up ideally for kids with TVs to look at if you are comfortable with that, stuffed animals, and sun glasses- my two year old had such a great time she just asked when we are going back and enjoyed every minute of her time there!

Fantastic experience: We have met Dr. Van when Victoria was just 5-6 months old when we walked by his dentistry. His positive demeanor stood out! He explained to us all the details about healthy dental care (to a random person on a street). Now, we have been visiting Dr. Van for over three years and our 4.5 years old loves him. I love the fact that he does not push unnecessary procedures on kids. He follows hippocratic oath (many dentists simply like to milk insurance). Dr. Van has his own small three kids and he really knows how to talk to kids without scaring them of dental procedures. I wish he also has been a dentist for adults. The new office is amazing too!

Fantastic experience: We recently switched to Newton Pediatric Dentistry after a less than stellar experience elsewhere, and I am so glad we did. Dr Van really "gets" kids. He and his staff go above and beyond to ensure kids feel comfortable, safe, and well taken care of, whether it be for a cleaning or a more involved procedure. My son needed two teeth extracted and was extremely anxious about it. Dr. Van patiently answered my son's questions and explained everything while doing it - while deftly distracting him at all the right moments. My son walked out of there with a HUGE smile on his face - what could be better than seeing your kid leave the dentist so happy (even after getting teeth pulled!) I highly recommend NPD!

Fantastic experience: My daughter has been a patient of Dr. Van's since he opened. The whole office is great with kids, even incredibly shy ones like mine. The office is perfect for entertaining little ones, from video's in the waiting room that distract the kids to the way they interact with the kids during the exam to the "awesome" treasure chest of toys for the good little patients to choose from when they are done. Dr Van seems to really know his stuff and I feel confident with his recommendations for care.

Fantastic experience: We held off on going to the dentist a little longer than recommended due to my daughters medical anxiety and temperament...and the pandemic. Her first visit was a success and we attribute it to the teams expertise in working with children. Cannot recommend this office enough! Gentle, kind, fun. Their COVID precautions are spot on and I appreciate everything they are doing to keep themselves, patients, and families safe.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Van and is team are amazing! My daughter is terrified of any type of medical appointment, but Dr. Van goes above and beyond to make sure that she is comfortable. Recently, she got a cavity filled, and Dr. Van took so much time to make sure she knew what was going on, and that she felt safe. A few days later, he even called me to make sure that she was feeling OK. We are so lucky to know him!

Fantastic experience: My 7 year old daughter’s experience was incredible. She has special needs and Dr. Van’s office was prepared for her visit. Yolanda was our hygienist and did an incredible job explaining the whole process to my daughter. What made the experience very unique is that they have a tv on the ceiling so that when they are lying down getting their teeth checked, they can watch a video which was a great distraction. My daughter was so excited. She hasn’t been able to tolerate a visit at any other dentist we’ve been to in the last two years. She even let them do x-rays! My visit was out of pocket up front and reimbursable through my insurance which the dental office submitted for me.

Fantastic experience: My 5 year old daughter needed a filling today and I’m blown away with how well it went! She didn’t need Novocain and the whole procedure went so smoothly. She does not have a high tolerance for pain or bad tastes and she did totally fine! Dr. Van and the staff are always top notch and make going to the dentist a positive experience for my kids every time.

Fantastic experience: I am so thoroughly impressed by Dr. Van and his team. My son recently had a horrible accident with his two front (adult) teeth. Dr. Van was so unbelievably accommodating and put me and my 10 year-old son at ease during a very traumatic time. He was able to get us in promptly and fix his teeth so well you wouldn't even know anything happened. My twin boys have been seeing Dr. Van for many years now and our experience has always been amazing - everything from regular cleanings to filling cavities, to pulling teeth and orthodontic recommendations, to our current situation. Dr. Van is the best!!

Fantastic experience: We have been going to Dr Van for years now. My boys love him, and listen to his advise closely about everything for their teeth. His office staff is accommodating and always smiling. This last appointment we found some cavities in my oldest one who gets very nervous about things such as this but again listened to Dr Vans advise very closely. When we were leaving, we were the last appointment of the day and we found my car battery had died. Everyone in the office was getting ready to leave when I knocked back on their door and told them my car died. Dr Van and his staff quickly turned into mechanics and were able to jump my car in less than 5 minutes. I couldn’t be more grateful for that help plus the kindness your office shows my boys. My daughter had dental issues that started around 2 and Dr. Van worked with us on a plan that was the least invasive, kept her teeth healthy and allowed her to get comfortable with the dentist. She’s almost 6 and all has gone as planned - she loves going to the dentist and her teeth are healthy.

My child wasn't phased in the least and had no issues going back for the second! Highly recommended for anyone, espeically kids with sensory issues.

Fantastic experience: Such a great experience, always. Great hygienist, thorough and friendly doctor. It’s always a good sign when your child looks forward to going to the dentist. An extra perk is how comfortable it is for the parents while they wait. I was able to keep working, with great wifi, hot tea and a relatively quiet space. And the ladies at the front helping with paperwork and billing and appointments are knowledgeable and super friendly.

Fantastic experience: We very nervous to bring our son in for his first dental visit. He is very nervous with any sort of appointments, especially doctors and such. But I have to say, the entire staff at Newton Pediatric Dentistry made the entire visit so enjoyable. From the moment we stepped in we felt at ease. I was nervous my son wouldn't cooperate during the appointment but the dental hygienist was sure to take her time with him to make sure he was 100% comfortable before they started. Same with Dr. Stephanie, she was patient with my son throughout his exam. We are so pleased with the entire experience and I am happy to say my son cannot wait for his second appointment in October.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Orenstein has been my kids' dentist for many years. I fully trust his care. He is very knowledgeable, great with procedures, and truly enjoys taking care of kids. We are always seen on time, the staff is friendly, and the kids are given a lot of attention to make sure they are comfortable.

Fantastic experience: After trying 3 other pediatric dentist for my daughter with anxiety Dr. Vans office has been the only place she is successful allowing them to clean her teeth. Everyone is so kind and gently and most importantly patient with my daughter.

Fantastic experience: We love Dr. Van! We recently had the Icon procedure to remove a white spot on my son's front tooth, and it went great. Dr. Van managed to removed it completely and now my son can finally smile and not be shy about it! We are definitely in good hands!

Fantastic experience: I love this practice. On the basis of several recommendations, we went to Dr. Van Orenstein at Newton Pediatric Dentistry. We absolutely love him and the practice. I have now been in several times and feel like I know it well. They and he are great with explaining things, relating to kids and parents, making everything easy and comfortable. I can't recommend them highly enough. I am posting this while sitting in the room with my young teen daughter while he puts sealants on a few teeth. She is super-sensitive about any medical procedure and is doing great, watching Friends on Netflix. Now Dr. Van is discussing Rachel's hair with her :-)...seriously, they are clearly devoted to this being a positive experience. I recommend Dr. Van and Newton Pediatric Dentistry highly!

Fantastic experience: Had a wonderful first dentist visit for my 2.5 year old son. The hygienist, Taylor, was kind, thoughtful, and patient. She helped my little guy get comfortable with all the dental tools. Dr. Van was equally calm, patient, and friendly, and the next morning my son said "I want to go to the dentist again!"

Fantastic experience: This practice is great! They have TVs for the kids to watch while they're getting their teeth cleaned, which does a nice job distracting them from what's going on. Dr Van is also incredibly patient with kids who aren't exactly following instructions and kids that have major stranger anxiety. I was really impressed with him.

Fantastic experience: Very nice staff at the front desk The hygienist who saw my daughter was awesome. She took pains to calm my three year old at her first visit and so did the dentist. He sang songs to her while he checked her teeth and applied fluoride. We have been there for three years now. The facilities are well equipped and the practice seems to be expanding a lot. They are prompt and efficient. The toys and balloon were a definite plus.
