Positive experience: Overall I had a great experience with this office yesterday: In summary, I found the office well equipped, the front desk (Anna) kind and helpful, The dental assistant (Ruhi) very friendly and capable, and the dentist, Dr Lee, knowledgeable and attentive. He explained and answered very clearly. So far so good. I am limiting my overall score to 4 Stars out of 5, only because I have just started with them and reserve my final judgment after I have gone through some treatments by them.

Positive experience: It was good. The dental hygienist needed to explain more what he/she is going to do with the patient and give the choices to the patient such as the taste of the polish paste or the taste of the fluoride gels.

Fantastic experience: Been utilizing the services at Great Hill Dental for a few years now. From minor to major work, not only are the results leading class, the staff and professionalism is hard to match. Front desk staff is always warm and welcoming and they have their act together when it comes time for billing and payments. It's always very clear in advance of any procedure not to mention they do their best to maximum my insurance benefits. The clinical support staff is truly some of the very best I've experienced. Knowledgeable, talented and like a warm blanket to soothe any nerves. I've had a lot of poor dental experiences growing up, and they take the cake for being the best in my opinion. Current physician leadership under Dr Dan is fantastic. He's a seasoned pro and has a truly wonderful chairside manner. He keeps you informed of progress all the way through and does quick and impressive work. Last but not least, they are using the latest and greatest technology across the board which from a time and quality perspective is exactly "what the doctor ordered" for any patient that wants the best care and results for the shortest amount of time in that chair and under that dreaded drill. Highly recommend!!

Fantastic experience: I had such an amazing experience at Great Hill Dental in Newton. As someone who is a very anxious dental patient, today could have easily gone the opposite way, but the team made it seamless. I was originally scheduled at another location and my appointment was canceled last minute because unexpectedly the doctor had to leave. I had already taken the day off from work and planned my entire day around this, so I was understandably stressed. Thankfully, Dr. Van de Rydt was able to fit me into his schedule in Newton for a same day extraction. Dr. Van de Rydt was calm, thorough, and incredibly reassuring throughout the entire procedure. He made me feel comfortable and well cared for, which means everything to someone like me. A special thank you as well to my friend Olivia Monzac who handled all of the scheduling logistics, coordinated between locations, and worked with Olga to make sure I was seen in time to stay on track for my Invisalign start next month. I truly felt supported every step of the way. I’m so grateful for the professionalism, flexibility, and compassion shown today. Highly recommend this office!

Fantastic experience: Great Hill Dental in Newton is an excellent dental office. The space is clean, welcoming, and the staff is knowledgeable and professional. Andrea, the hygienist, is incredibly gentle and has a wonderful bedside manner that makes visits comfortable and stress-free. Dr. Vanderydt is a top-tier dentist who is thorough, skilled, and truly cares about patient care. Olga, the office manager, is impeccable! The entire office runs like a well-oiled machine thanks to her organization and efficiency. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: This Dental office is amazing! I just left my second cleaning appointment here, and I have had consistently great experiences. Every staff member is kind, friendly and helpful. The office is very clean. They provide the best customer service I have experienced in a medical office in years! The receptionist is extremely sweet and patient and always has a smile on her face. The hygenist that I had today was very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. The assistant who performed my scan for my night guard was very outgoing, easy to talk to, and explained the process to me before-hand. The denist is also very polite and really spends time talking with you, answering questions. He doesn't make you feel rushed at all. Plus I love that they are open on Saturdays! Overall just a great place, I highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I had a deep cleaning, two broken teeth pulled and two implants to replace them. The process took a year. My new teeth look real and feel great. Dr. Chaudhry and his professional and front desk staff are the very best: Very friendly, caring, helpful, responsive and extremely patient. Large, comfortable, clean waiting room with nice seasonal decorations and tv. Very accessible location with free parking and street level entrance.

My oral surgeon was very caring and considerate of how nervous I was and he tried to keep me as relaxed and comfortable as possible and allowed me to ask questions or concerns. 10/10

Fantastic experience: My son had his second set of wisdom teeth pulled yesterday. He had been freaking out for days beforehand, yet he couldn’t wait to see Dr. Brett Paredes, who had also done the first surgery. After the extraction, while sipping the bone broth I made him, he suddenly asked: “I wonder if Dr. Paredes would like to adopt me for a week?” Doesn’t that say it all? Dr. Paredes has a rare gift for establishing such good rapport with his patients that they separate him from the pain of the surgery. He’s not only highly skilled, but also humane, friendly, and generous with his time. My son is already eagerly looking forward to his follow-up with Dr. Paredes next week—and is even wondering how he might see him again after that, surgery or not!

Fantastic experience: Aloha! What an amazing patient experience at Great Hill Dental! The staff were very friendly and provided genuine care. I spoke to Tayvia who was polite and spoke with a smile on her face. She went above and beyond assisting me with an appointment and following up with my out of town dental insurance. Livvy and Dr. Chawdhry made me feel comfortable, listened to my concern and possessed excellent care! I am a non resident but if I was to need a dentist, there’s no doubt that this is the place I would want to establish dental care!

Fantastic experience: I have major medical phobias, and it keeps me from seeking treatment at times, especially when it “might” resolve on its own. I had avoided the dentist for far too many years, and of course suffered the consequences from that. About a year ago I started to have a tooth ache, and avoided it for months and months. Finally it got so bad that the need to take care of it forced me to confront my phobias. Worst fears confirmed, I needed oral surgery. Dr Paredes was so kind, understanding, and willing to work with my needs. I can’t say enough about him. But then I needed a deep cleaning for the rest of my teeth, so as not to repeat my previous tooth issue. Julie took care of me, and was again, so nice, so patient, so willing to accommodate my neurotic needs. The kindness and understanding (and apparent lack of any judgement) of everyone there was MORE than I ever could have expected. If you have qualms about going to the dentist, try this place, I could not have asked a better experience. I don’t feel like I’m giving them enough love in the short review.

Negative experience: This review is a bit late (summer 2023) but the experience came back to mind when I just finished my last cleaning. They had a $37 teeth cleaning special for first-time patients which I came in for. In the end they told me my teeth needed a deep-cleaning which would cost thousands of dollars, and didn't even clean my teeth in the first place yet I still had to pay. So I went to a different dentist in Newton and they cleaned my teeth no problem which DIDN'T cost thousands of dollars...

Fantastic experience: This is an updated review for another great dentist serving the same clinic. Dr. Natalia Hoffmann is an incredible orthodontic dentist! I came to this clinic many years ago and because of Dr. Dani, I decided this is the place for me to have my orthodontic treatment. I was not compatible with the first orthodontic dentist, but after she left the clinic, I was so lucky to be transferred to Dr. Hoffmann and she is incredible. She listens to her patients carefully for their needs and concerns and she explained everything well. She designs the treatment plan carefully to implement all the features the patients are looking for. Whenever I have a doubt, I can make appointment to discuss with her. She is so gentle when working on my teeth and so cheerful to see her everytime! Mika in the team is great too! Mika was in the old dentist team and stay to work with Dr. Hoffmann so that I get to work with her for longer. She is kind and careful. Hector in the team is great too (and sorry that I can't remember all the team members). Dr. Hoffmann is THE orthodontic dentist for all your needs! I am recommending her without any hesitance. I was so lucky to have her for my teeth! --- Dr. Dani and all the staff deserved 5 stars! They did everything possible to make sure the procedure is safe and the customers are satisfied. Dr. Dani explained the procedure and the mechanisms behind it crystal clear. The clinic has all the photos showing the stain or decay of the teeth so that we know what's going on and what should be done. They are also transparent regarding the cost. It's absolutely scary to see dentist in a pandemic, but their hygiene procedure makes me relatively comfortable. I highly recommend Gentle Dental Newton to people who have the need to see dentist!

Negative experience: This place has become a complete disaster since Dr. Dani left last year. Many of the glowing 5 star reviews are NOT for this practice. It's a completely different practice now and the new staff does not have it together. They constantly have billing issues and blame it on a "new IT system" that by now has been in place for almost 1 year. They call and reschedule appointments that have been on the calendar for 6 months. Every time I go I feel like I'm getting upcharged for things I don't need. My wife has had many issues with a root canal and crown. There is incompetence from top to bottom and I will be going to another dentist from now on.

Negative experience: ** their response about getting in touch and getting help is fake. Hours after the experience a manager called me and I explained the entire situation about how terrible it is that they didn’t even check if they had the permanent filling material before drilling my tooth open (borderline malpractice) and she basically told me that it’ll be fine and she’s also had a root canal before and she was okay. Didn’t offer any other assistance not even a partial refund for not getting the treatment I agreed to and signed consent to. I would give it 0 stars if I could. I went to this place after seeing raving reviews and was hoping I would have the same experience...wrong. I went in for a crown after I had gotten a root canal elsewhere. I'd like to clarify that after my root canal was done my tooth was plugged with cotton and then a temporary filling. When I came in for my crown the dentist sat down with me and informed me that I would be getting my tooth permanently filled and filed down to put a temporary crown on. I sit down and at this point he has fully drilled out my temporary filling and removed the cotton leaving a wide hole in my tooth...this is the moment where it all goes wrong. He asks the dental assistant to give him the permanent filling material, and she hands him something that he deems is not the right material. He puts cotton over my tooth while he goes and tries to find the right material, just to come back and tell me that they did not actually check if they had the material before drilling my filling out. On top of this they installed the temporary crown WRONG and I had excruciating pain for a week after getting told I would be relatively pain free. I went back hoping for an answer as to why the temporary crown was hurting so much considering that he told me I was going to be relatively pain free, and they sent me to a different dental office saying it was because my root canal failed. Upon arriving at this new dental office, they actually found out that there was so much cement UNDER my gum line that never got cleaned when gentle dental newton put my temporary crown on that it was causing my gums to stay inflamed. Oh and the pain was also caused by them putting it in so wrong that every time I clenched or bit down it was solely on the root canal tooth which (described to me by the other dentist) is like punching a bruise over and over again. I'm 22 and now I am traumatized for life because of my experience here.

Negative experience: Unethical practices. Go here if you want to get a $500+ bill. They will maximize what they can get from insurance too..$69 new patient deal not even applied to the first visit. It's clear how they can pay for their fancy equipment, at the expense of their customers.

Fantastic experience: For anyone who is anxious about going to the dentist: this is the place for you. When I tell you that I was the most anxious patient when going for a cleaning and getting a crown, I mean that I was shaking and cried during the procedure. The hygienist and dentist knew and took all of the necessary steps to validate my feelings, calm me down, and complete the procedures, all while maintaining my dignity. I have been to dentists who have no bedside manner, and frankly, the experience sucked. The folks at Gentle Dental were so kind that I bought them a cake after my procedure. Never in my life did I expect to feel so grateful for a dentistry experience that I wanted to spend extra money to buy a cake for the hygienist, dentist, and other staff, but here I am writing a review about it because I sincerely cannot thank them enough for their kindness, understanding, and empathy. Not to mention that the cleaning and crown I got feel wonderful and are of the highest quality!!

Fantastic experience: They are a new staff/team and are actually better than the previous owners. My son and i are so happy with his first visit!

Negative experience: Misleading, unethical practices. I went in for a checkup last fall, everyone was extremely friendly, the experience was great all around. It had been a few years since I had been to the dentist, so there was a fair amount of buildup to clean, they told me the best way would be to numb my mouth and do the scaling and planing- which was probably fine and definitely was an effective cleaning, but in general that is a much more expensive procedure than the typical cleaning. They took lots of X-rays and then the dentist walked me through them- showing me 4 or 5 different spots where I would need fillings. The misleading/unethical part? I couldn’t afford the $1200 in procedures at the time, as I was just about to make an expensive move across the country, so I withheld them till I could establish care. I just got back from my visit with a new dentist (and not just any dentist, he is the president of the Ohio dental association), who noted there was actually no decay visible in the X-rays that would require fillings. NONE. He advised me that in general you should be very cautious around “corporate dentistry” (Gentle dental is a corporate chain) as they have the highest occurrence of these practices - picking any reason to charge your insurance/you for a procedure, even if it isn’t truly necessary. Do yourself, your teeth, and your wallet a favor- go to a local practice.

Fantastic experience: I'm I love with Gentle Dental Newton!! I've been to many dental offices, but they're by far the most affordable and is always a pleasure to visit. I'm petrified of needles, but Dr Dani is like a "dental magician". Whenever he administers lidocaine it's pain free. The entire staff are all very upbeat, caring, amazing, educating, honest, knowledgeable especially Dr. Dani, Dr. Askari(Orthodontist), Max(Receptionist), Adriana(Assistant), michelle(Manager), Dana(Dental Hygienist). Dr. Dani-Thanks for always caring and making my dental visits less scary by entertaining me with soothing music while working on filings, etc . They're also following all the safety guidelines, the office is always so clean and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this office to everyone!!

Negative experience: Dental care itself is fine, but office management is the absolute worst I’ve ever encountered. I was a patient here for about two years. Every single appointment I ever made here was canceled/rescheduled at the last minute, regardless of whether it was booked six months in advance or two weeks in advance. Moreover, the staff forgot to submit an order for a dental appliance, so *that* appointment was delayed and reschedule twice. No idea what their problem is but it’s completely clear that my dental care is not their priority. Gladly taking my business elsewhere.

Positive experience: My orthodontist appointment has stated 50 min later. I arrived on time. This is unacceptable and very disrespectful to clients time. Doctors are great and I previously had good experience, but waiting time is upsetting.

Fantastic experience: I've had a great experience at this practice location with Dr. Dani, Dr. Hoffman, and their staff! They all are kind, communicative, efficient, thorough, and go the extra mile to make patients feel cared for. It's actually been the best dental experience of my life so far. After establishing care, I broke a filling and needed a root canal (filling was performed by a different dental practice), and the office got me in to see Dr. Dani the day I called and my root canal was done within two days with immediate relief. I actually look forward to going to the dentist now!

They care deeply about what they do and it shows. Cleanings are thorough and the fillings/crowns I've had done are solid with minimal pain

Dr. Dani and all the staff carefully explained everything that was going to happen and were very skillful with the procedures. They also made my daughter feel very welcome even though she was joining me for my visit since I didn’t have a babysitter.

Fantastic experience: I went there for my cleaning I was taken on time, the hygienist was great. I cannot say enough about how pleasant the office staff was. My next visit was for root canal and a crown, you think that’s a nightmare, but the experience was unexpected doctor Kunal (Dani) was both pleasant and very professional and made the is it entire procedure tolerable. I would highly recommend this office!
