But taking it further, Dr Imperial is an extremely skilled dentist. She explains everything she is doing as she works on. Her technique and knowledge are excellent. The only issue we have had is that the estimates for out of pocket are extremely different than the final price. Please update your processes to have estimates that incorporate insurance coverage more accurately. We have ended up paying triple what the estimate was with no additional services rendered from the original listing.

Fantastic experience: I had such a great experience at this office! Dr. Imperial goes over all needed treatment very thoroughly and makes sure you fully understand everything before moving forward. I never felt rushed, and all my questions were answered clearly. The dental assistants are so sweet and made me feel comfortable the entire time. The front staff helped me with my insurance after finding out I was out of network and were still able to get my insurance to pay out! Negative experience: I’m one to be weary of negative reviews, posting or reading them With that said, I’d be remiss if I didn’t warn others before going to this dental studio. Myself, along with several others as you read through these, have been overcharged for services. I own it’s a mistake to ever say yes to work without having a doctor or office, walk you through what you will owe and what’s covered by insurance. I was told that I need a deep cleaning, along with several other services paired with it. First appointment I went to, I paid for 2 halves with only one half being performed, by accident. I caught the mistake because I felt that $700 was just too much for only one side of my mouth. The front office clerk, quickly owned her mistake and made a note for my next appointment. I appreciated it and continued my work, ignoring a warning sign about a lack of transparency and organization. After both cleanings, I started to receive invoices, no call from the office, just invoices saying that I owed over a thousand dollars (after I had already paid.) I had to reach out to the office, they assured me this was standard as insurance gets settled. They said insurance rejects a lot at first but eventually ends up paying… that was not true. Months later, I get told “yeah they won’t be covering, please pay.” Insurance rebutted and said this work was unnecessary based on x rays, they had never even had pre-authorization. While yes, everyone is friendly, there are way too many examples of predatory behavior and trying to get lots of money from patients. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Negative experience: I would give a zero star if possible. Waited in the dental chair for over an hour for a cleaning. Only once did someone acknowledge I was still there but didn’t apologize for the wait. I left after waiting over an hour. It used to be a great dentist office but has really gone downhill since moving to the new location

Negative experience: Changing my review to one star rating. It used to be a great Dental clinic but now it is a mess of lack of management. I thought I might be the only one feeling that way but then went to check recent reviews and found out that the problems are systemic and NOT one-off.

Negative experience: Planning on changing my dentist. 2 years in a row I waisted my time and effort. They only care about money and don’t care about the patients. 4 of our family members goes there. We all are leaving this office.

Negative experience: I had been a patient of Dr. Hill for approximately 8 years when he unfortunately passed. He was fantastic in every respect, unfortunately I cannot say the same for what is left of his clinic now. High pricing and lack of service. First in terms of pricing everytime I went in, I felt like I am being upsold a service. Whether it being a bridge or a cap it's never "let's watch this and make some decisions at your next appointment", I was left always feeling like there was immediate urgency to do the procedure. For one item I received a quote for potential work which I am grateful I didn't move forward with as I later learned the cost was about 6K higher than other dentists charge for the same service. And if you are wondering if it was due to insurance vs. a non-insurance quote it was not. It was 6k cheaper elsewhere even if insurance didnt cover one dime of the process. Most recently I scheduled a cleaning on their website only to get a call about 2 days before the appointment telling me that I no longer had the booking because of a glitch in their online scheduling system. So I rescheduled my appointment. In between those appointments I had an issue with a tooth that I called to inquire to see if it could wait until my next cleaning. When I didn't receive a prompt call back I actually went to another dentist who took xrays and calmed my mind about any problems. Then came time for my cleaning with Hill dental which was only a day later. I explained that I only wanted a cleaning and that was it. They pushed the issue of xrays of which I informed them I had just had xrays with another dentist and I was just there for the 6 month cleaning. Basically they kept telling me I had to have the xray and I told them why I was declining and that I would do the xray at the next 6 month appointment. After going back and forth several times they refused to clean my teeth if I didn't get an xray. To which I got up and walked out. They didn't care or bother to listen to me on why I was declining this time. My first time to decline and xray in all my years of going to a dentist. It's just another example of the lack of care for the patient. So they lost a patient today. This would have never happened under Dr. Hill.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Imperial explained the procedure steps of the crown replacement very clearly which made me less nervous.

Negative experience: I have been utilizing Hill Dental Clinic in Allen, Texas, and its predecessor, Dr. Williams, for decades. Dr. Williams was a wonderful doctor and took care of me for over ten years. Dr. Hill succeeded him and was not bad, but the costs at Hill Dental Clinic began to increase. Despite the clinic being out of network for my insurance—and costing me more—I decided to remain a patient of Dr. Hill. After Dr. Hill passed, the clinic came under new management. Costs rose yet again, but I still chose to stay. In March of this year, I went in for my semiannual cleaning and checkup. During the visit, the hygienist recommended a "deep cleaning." Instead of a few hundred dollars for a routine visit, this “deep cleaning” required multiple appointments. When asked if I wanted an estimate, I said, “Why not?” The estimate was approximately $2,100, with my portion after insurance listed as $360. Now, after going back and forth with the insurance company, I have paid over $1,000—and it appears I’m still liable for another $600. How could the original estimate have been so wrong? I went in for a routine cleaning and checkup and ended up with nearly $2,000 in out-of-pocket charges. After this experience, I canceled my next routine appointment at Hill Dental Clinic and chose another dentist who is in-network. I don't appreciate the "bait and switch."

Negative experience: They are not honest with your charges. Complaint 1: I was promised over the phone by the staff on Nov 19th 2024 after providing my insurance information that my annual cleaning and examination is covered by insurance. I made it clear that I did not wish to have additional services to be added to my visit. I made appointments for my husband and I (on the same insurance)for March 13th 2025. However, the office performed cleaning and examination that was not covered by our insurance. Complaine 2: On March 13th, both my husband and I went to have a basic anual cleaning and examination and I have reasons to believe that the office did not perform the service I was charged for (acclusal guard). Later I was billed $509.00 for a full service I did not receive. In addition, I was misled into paying for a 105.00 lazer cleaning on the day of service (I have bank statement as a proof). The office clarified that the rest is covered by insurance. But later I was billed which include the Lazer charge ($105.00) I already paid for. Complain 3: When I voiced my concern, the office sent me a consent form that included the acclusal guard treatment plan I have never seen before. I recall giving out my signature for the $105.00 lazer treatment on the day of the appointment. However, when I requested for the document I signed, they provided me a different document. I believe that they have altered the proof to avoid payment adjustment. Complaint 4: The office never clarified that they were out of the network and encouraged me to make appointments for both of my husband and I. Their Website under "Fiancial & Insurance" used misleading message about the condition of accepting out-of-network insurance by stating "We accept most insurance plans, even if we’re out of network. Our receptionist will call to verify your coverage before the visit but bring a copy of your card for our records." I followed the advice and confirmed with their office before my dental visit. However, they did not perform the service covered by my insurance. Instead, they provided special treatments for both my husband and I to generate out of pockage charges not covered by our insurance. The out of pocket charge for me is $509 and for my husband $338. He recalled clearly he asked not to have any additional service done that's not covered by insurance.

Fantastic experience: HDS was able to fit me in the same day for a separated crown. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. I’ve been a patient at HDS since their beginning. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: This dentist and his staff are top notch. I used to think that I was the one making them laugh and feel good until I heard patients from the other rooms and they were all having fun with the staff as well. So, you get a top notch skillful dentist and staff that also likes to have fun. What more could you want from a dentist office? Oh wait! You would like a menu of options to choose from while in the dentist chair? No problem, they offer pillows, drinks and more on the menu at no extra charge!

Negative experience: I've had multiple issues with this place. I've spent thousands of dollars on things I probably didn't even need. My most recent experience was the final straw for me. I was told i had 8 cavities & then on top of that, they lost my x-rays. Mind your Dr. Brooks never even showed me my x-rays during the visit. So when i called to get them, the lady insured me she was sending them over. So how were they sent if they were lost? I've made reviews before but they somehow "mysteriously" have never been posted. Overall save your money & time. They are so quick to misdiagnose and take your money. Only good thing is the manager Kim!

Fantastic experience: So far I'm having a really great experience at Hill Detail Studio. I switched from one of those chain places to Hill, and I'm really happy I did. That other place hired anyone with a pulse and it really showed. Yesterday I got my cleaning and the Hygienist did a really good job. It felt like she actually cared about what she was doing. If you're at mint or ideal, I'd suggest you dump them and switch.

Negative experience: After 13 months have gone by I have decided to write a review. I saw on Google how highly rated the reviews were so I figured Hill Dental was a good bet. I was mistaken. I had come to a decision (mostly economic) to get a full set of dentures. I am 68 and yes I did not take care of my teeth as well as I could have due to poor education and money. I had all my teeth pulled (dental surgeon) and got a set of temporary teeth at Hill Dental. They were a joke. Temporaries will not fit until your gums heal up and harden up. About 6 weeks in my gums felt like a piano keyboard and I had some bone protruding from my right lower jaw. Went back to the surgeon and got all that fixed. After another 4 months I got a better set of temporaries. At six months my gums were ready for the permanent ones. Once I got my teeth in I got the hardware for the implants on my lower. They said okay you are done and sent me on my way. I had to ask for a mirror to see what they looked like. I thought it weird but hey what do I know. Soon as I walked in one of the grandkids said “hey look, pa-pa has Bucky Beaver teeth”. I compared my temporaries to my permanent teeth and the lowers were short and the uppers long. I had to explain it and show the comparison between the temporaries and the permanent teeth. Dr. Hill was not very receptive but I had hard proof somebody messed up. Finally with a lot of back and forth someone paid the cost of some new dentures. The rub is this- they tried to talk me out of dentures. In this entire process I had some complaints and all I got was, “ well that’s what you get with dentures”. No one was honest with how long dentures take from the time your teeth are pulled and you finally get to eat again. For me it was about 7-8 months. No one bothered to even look at the “Beaver” teeth I got. I had to go back and complain and it was a valid complaint. At one year they had the unmitigated gall to charge me $269.00 to clean around two implants. They may be okay with regular dental work because that is the real cash cow. Dentures are one and done. I wish I had gone somewhere they specialized in dentures. The staff was friendly but I will never set foot in that place again. Don’t go here if you need dentures even though Dr Hill said “oh yea we do them all the time” I call BS on Dr. Hill. The picture is of my temporary uppers and my permanent uppers. Notice the difference. They didn’t. Update to my original review. Today is 7-30-24 So it’s been a while I got a resolution from Hill dental. Now some months later my lower has broken as shown in the pictures. I think the majority of the blame goes to the Helm Dental Lab. Nevertheless this is what you get at Hill dental. Now I am paying for another complete set of dentures. The bottom is broken and the top fits so poorly I have to use a lot of dental adhesive to get them to stay in. I wasted many thousands of dollars at Hill dental.

Negative experience: This is by far the most unprofessional dentist I have ever come upon in my life. While very pleasant, his front office staff have to contend with the unprofessionalism of the owner, Stephen Hill on a regular basis, including but not limited to excessive appointment cancellation, incomplete work needing to be finished by the other partnering dentist, and inconsistent work needing attention from other specialists. If you need a cleaning, a simple cleaning, his office is likely competent at that, but if you need any other kind of work at all, from cavity fillings to crowns, this dentist Hill, is firmly incapable. I have one crown that needed to be redone by another dentist and remaining work I no longer trust him with. I went elsewhere, and needless to say, Hill's professional reputation is lacking among even his peers.

Hill Dental erases all the apprehensions, fears etc. From the time you walk in, you are greeted in such a friendly manner. Then I met Dr. Brooks who is my dentist, she is skilled and oh so kind. I can actually look forward to going to the dentist. Hill Dental is the place to go, a no pain dental experience.

Negative experience: In the 12 years I’ve been a patient here, today was by far the worst dental experience I have ever had. The hygienist was great but I waited 15 minutes in the waiting area before my presence was noted. The instruments tasted heavily like rusted metal and when I mentioned this to the hygienist she stated I was the 2nd person to say that. I usually enjoy going to the dentist, but this literally left a bad taste in my mouth.

Fantastic experience: This was the most informative cleaning that I have ever had. The hygienist took the time to carefully explain all the facts about flossing that I never even knew. The education made me understand the true repercussions that can cause irreversible damage. Very enlightening!

Fantastic experience: Exceptional experience and the entire staff is so welcoming. I am not a fan of going to the dentist and after being pregnant twice in the last 3 years and breastfeeding, my gums and teeth were needing some TLC. Dr. Brooks was so pleasant and professional. Her bedside manner made me feel comfortable and confident in their care. I had Taylor as my hygienist. She made me feel extremely comfortable and explained every step. Negative experience: Prior to seeking service with this company I called and asked about my insurance to make sure it was in network and discovered it was not. I was told that even though it was not in network they would accept my insurance payment in full. I made an appointment. I received a cleaning and X-rays. I then received a bill for nearly $400. I called and asked why I was being billed. They told me well the insurance company didn’t pay what they expected and so now I have to pay the full bill. So I reminded them of what we have discussed prior to my visit. That I took their word and that they would keep it. I asked what happen to honesty and integrity. The manager stated well the insurance company lied to us. So now they get to lie to me? I said you should have at least said if we don’t get full payment though then you’re responsible for the full bill in which they didn’t not. I told her I would have looked elsewhere then. She says well our back up is the finical disclosure. Again I told her you knew I was out of network and you stated you would except whatever the insurance company paid. She agreed but continued to tell me that the insurance company lied to them. This. company will lie to you to; it’s a lure and bait company so they can make money. If you go here and they agree make sure you mark out the financial statement there word means nothing. I will never recommend this company to anyone. Their word don’t hold up.

Negative experience: If I could give a 0, I would. Really bad work overall from Dr Hill. I got veneers because Dr Hill made them seem so easy. There have been so many issues it is shocking. The temporaries kept coming off and instead of fixing them right, he kept sticking the broken ones back on and they came off 3 times. It was painful and took so much time, then, the real ones looked horrible (horse teeth) and he put the bottoms on wrong. Like literally twisted because they put on the wrong teeth to start and had to fix before they settled. Another dentist said he should have fixed the spacing before the veneers so they wouldn’t be so they wouldn’t have to be so big. Oh, and now I have gingivitis (which now I’m googling is common w veneers…never mentioned. My bottom teeth are spacing in one spot. So I asked for a retainer to help stop the bottom spacing and when the hygienist put the top one on my teeth, we couldn’t get it off and one of my 2 year old veneers came out. The pain I have felt throughout this experience has been horrible….anf not once has Dr Hill apologized. Oh and the last straw that pushed me to add this review is that I received two bills for the retainer that fit so badly it pulled out my pretty new veneer. I will keep sharing any progress but in the meantime, I would never recommend Hill Dentisty. Ever!

Negative experience: Refused to clean my teeth when I declined X-Rays, even though I had X-rays done less than a year ago and have no problems with my teeth, just needed a cleaning. Don’t recommend at all

Fantastic experience: I've had a life long phobia of the dentist. I had a lot of dental work done back home in Ireland but since moving to the states, this was my introduction to dentistry here in America and it exceeded my expectations. I'm nearing a long treatment plan on some aging filings which required refilling, or crowns and it has taken the whole year. Dr Steger and her team are fantastic. I no longer fear going to the dentist. In contrast I look forward to switching off in the comfort that it wont be painful or unpleasant. What's more is that aside from being super professional, they are also likable humans! lol Thanks Y'all

At the time I lived fairly close to the office, but since then I've moved out to Mesquite and Hill Dental Studio has moved further into the Allen/Fairview area. Let me just say that Dr. Hill and his staff are absolutely worth the drive! My son and I look forward to our visits.

Fantastic experience: Great experience! I have the worst anxiety when it comes to the dentist and need to have a lot of dental work done. On my first visit this whole office went above and beyond to make sure I was calm and comfortable the entire time. The dentist came up with a great treatment plan to fix everything I need done and gave me plenty of options on how to proceed. I highly recommend Dr Hill and I think if I had him as a dentist all along I wouldn’t have most of the issues I have now!

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love Hill Dental Studio. I've been a few times now and every member of their team have been EXCEPTIONAL! The front desk team members are always on top of it! Their willingness to find appointments with my crazy schedule and their awesome communication skills are just a part of what makes them great. Mary has been a tremendous help with some of the hiccups we've encountered with my insurance (insurance issue and not Hill Dental Studio). Last but not least, Dr. Lorenzano and Katelyn are a fantastic dynamic duo! Words can't explain how grateful I am for how gentle and patient they are. I was a bit high maintenance (anxiety) for a problem tooth I have, and they were right there by my side helping me through it. Not once did they rush me, make me feel uncomfortable, or like "just a patient ". I'm greatly appreciative for the experiences I've had thus far with Dental Hill Studio and HIGHLY recommend them.
