I was very pleased when I called to see if they were taking new patients and they were able to get both my children established and in for a visit the same week. This was their first ever visit to the dentist and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Ashley was amazing! She truly cared about my children and their experience, took her time explaining everything and made sure they were comfortable through the whole process. We had a great first visit and I am very happy knowing my children will be well taken care of in the future! Thank you SIPD!

Negative experience: I would give negative stars if I could. This has been by far the absolute worst experience I have ever had at a dentist. Dr Christy has absolutely no business working with kids or even the public for that matter! She was extremely rude. She has absolutely no interest in answering any of my questions. God forbid your kid gets a little scared. If you try to comfort them she will just take everything off and end the procedure making you feel blindsided. My 6 year old who used to like going to the dentist is now scared and confused. After asking the nurse what the heck just happened and why Dr Christy very quickly got up and left without even saying anything to us, she came back and told us Dr Christy can continue but your son will cry the whole time! This kind of Dr is what nightmares are made of! After having this appointment booked for 4 months and several hundred dollars later we’re at square 1 all over again!

Positive experience: This office has a very strict arrival/late policy, and they do not show the same respect to their patients. Our appointment was at 8:30am, we arrived at 8:20am. It’s unacceptable that we still have to wait until 8:45am to be taken back to be serviced. While waiting, all you can hear in the back rooms are the assistants and doctors laughing and having a great time. They should be preparing for their patients since if we arrive any later than 10 minutes, we must reschedule. I don’t understand why as customers we aren’t shown the same courtesy. If we are upheld to timeliness, the office staff should also be upheld to the same standards.

Fantastic experience: My son is autistic in. Doesn't do well at normal dentist. They were amazing with him. He didn't want to go up first but when he got there he was so calm and enjoyed every minute of it Best experience I've ever had at a pediatric dentist

Negative experience: I’m writing this review after being a loyal patient at Southern Illinois Pediatric Dentistry for over four and a half years with my daughters. Recently, I received a surprisingly large bill for a routine cleaning. When I contacted my insurance company for clarification, I was informed that the cleanings were scheduled five months apart, rather than the six months required by my policy. I then reached out to Southern Illinois Pediatric Dentistry to discuss the discrepancy and explain what my insurance had shared. Unfortunately, I was met with a lack of willingness to work with me on resolving the billing issue. I was told that it was my responsibility to know the details of my plan. I tried to explain that for the past four and a half years, appointments had consistently been scheduled six months apart, and that this deviation was clearly a scheduling mistake on their end—not mine. Despite this, they refused to acknowledge or correct the error, leaving me responsible for the additional charges. I’m disappointed by the lack of accountability and customer service, especially after years of trust and continued care.

Fantastic experience: Great experience! My daughter loved it and had a wonderful time! Staff is very friendly and know how to handle pediatrics well to make it a good experience for them! We arrived 15 minutes early for our appointment and got in early. We didn’t wait long at all. Appointment took 30 minutes overall for a regular check up. Easy check in process and easy process to fill out paperwork online before your appointment that they text the link to you. They answered all my questions and gave good advise for at home care. 10/10 recommend :)

Fantastic experience: We had our first appointment here today and I am so happy to have found this place. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. They really take their time with you and the kiddos to explain everything. My 8 year old has bad anxiety and they did amazing with him when in the past dentist have gotten frustrated and rushed with him and his questions. I highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: The hygienist we had today was fantastic. She is so sweet and got both my shy kids to like and trust her. She walked my kids through the process step by step during transitions. Dr. Jake (I think that is his name) is amazing. My youngest was so scared to have a male doctor. Dr. Jake asked questions and made comments and by the end my kiddo was smiling and happy.

Fantastic experience: My daughter has terrible anxiety when it comes to dental work other than a normal cleaning. She has been to SIPD 3 different times to get a filling done. The amount of patience and understanding that the hygienists and the dentist showed my daughter was AMAZING! They went above and beyond to make her as comfortable as possible, and were able to finally get the filling done. I can't say enough good things about SIPD! Dentist office's can be scary, especially for kids. Southern Illinois Pediatric Dentistry does everything possible to make the experience a happy one. I wouldn't want to take my kids anywhere else!
