Fantastic experience: The hygienist Jen is really easy to talk to while she examines my teeth. She is very thorough as well. The dentist was very nice too and he willingly smoothed a snag that had been left on a front tooth that was from a previous dentist. Overall I’m very satisfied with the care they give.

Negative experience: I will never go to this dentist again. We went here because our insurance covers them. They told me I need a night guard and that my insurance would cover it so I went ahead and got it. Turns out my insurance did not cover it and no one ever told me that. If they had, I wouldn’t have gotten it. Now they hit me with an $802 bill out of nowhere. Extremely shady. It’s not ok to do this people. If you read other negative reviews you’ll see I’m not the only person they have done this to.

Positive experience: Everyone was very nice. All rooms are open, no privacy. Thought they tried to sell you everything they could. I have never gone to a dentist for a cleaning and by the time your done they have recommended a bunch of work that they think should be done.

Fantastic experience: I have had many bad experiences with dental offices. I am happy to say I have finally found one that listens to my problems, and fixes them! I am so thankful for the staff at Maple Shade, my jaw locks up very easily and this office is the first to ever give me a block to help prevent that from happening. They also were very understanding when I called after one visit and wasn’t completely satisfied with a tooth they worked on. They got me right in and it’s honestly the best I’ve felt in a really long time! Thank you so much! It’s kinda funny bc I was planning to call the office today and telling the girls how happy I was and to thank them, and this text popped up! Absolutely 5 stars… I’d give 10 if I could!

Negative experience: URGENT WARNING: Discriminatory Staff Behavior and Deceptive Billing Practices I am writing this review to detail a shocking and unacceptable experience at Maple Shade Dental on 10/09/2025. I immediately cancelled my appointment due to the issues outlined below and strongly advise others to seek care elsewhere. 1. Lack of Financial Transparency and Surprise Billing Upon arrival for my scheduled appointment, I was immediately presented with a bill that was claimed to be "due" on that very day. This was a complete surprise charge, as I had never received the bill in the mail. The staff claimed the bill was sent on September 30th. I questioned why a bill that takes weeks to arrive would be due the moment I received it, especially since I still hadn't received the original in the mail. The lack of clear communication and the insistence on immediate payment for an unseen bill is unprofessional and creates unnecessary stress. Patients should not be subjected to surprise charges upon arrival. 2. Discrimination and Mocking Behavior by Staff While discussing the confusing payment deadline with the register, a female staff member named Lucy (who was stationed nearby) interjected with an appalling and discriminatory comment. As I was reluctantly handing over my credit card, Lucy openly mimicked my accent and, in a clearly condescending and sarcastic tone, said, "oh so sorry that you had to pay your bills." She followed this with a saccharine "Have a great day" in her normal accent. This behavior is completely unacceptable, unprofessional, and is clear discrimination. A healthcare professional should never mock a patient's voice or accent. When I confronted her about her inappropriate conduct, she continued to be dismissive. 3. Failure of Complaint Resolution When I asked for a supervisor to report Lucy's discriminatory behavior, the register provided a phone number for a "Bloomington location." That number was not active, and I confirmed that the stated "Bloomington location" does not exist. This suggests a deliberate attempt to obstruct the complaint process and shield staff from accountability. Because of the staff's discriminatory and mocking behavior, coupled with the deceptive and confusing billing practices and the complete failure to provide proper channels for a formal complaint, I canceled my appointment and will not be returning to this practice. I urge management to address the issues of staff training, financial transparency, and accessibility for customer complaints immediately.

Fantastic experience: Everyone was very nice and accommodating. The place was very clean and all the patients seem happy. I had no problems at all except the prices for everything were a little too high for me. No doubt this comes with the best equipment and services possible though.

Negative experience: I give it one star because the cleaning itself was great, otherwise I would give a ZERO. The billing department is a complete joke. I was quoted one thing at time of service, paid it that day, 2 months later received a huge bill, paid that too, now 7 months later, I receive yet another bill from them asking for more money. Either they do not know how to correctly bill insurance or they are complete scam artists. Absolutely DO NOT recommend this place!

Negative experience: I was treated like a idiot, I get the Medicare advantage plan with humana,the company gets money for my plan and they still want more, they don't bill Medicare either inspite of them being on an Medicare advantage plan They cut me off from receiving my teeth cleaning because of Humana they said? I was the one that called them about this issue ,but they cut me off anyway,greed and dishonesty is running rampant in Illinois!don't pay anymore than your plans stated amounts ,for anymore than that is insurance fraud! Report any fraud to the attorney general I did, don't trust Humana either ,if you use it,you lose it with humana!

Negative experience: No privacy in exam rooms, front office worn and dated. Dental assistant was nasty and snarky. I had to take my necklace off for xrays but not my nose ring?? Location on Washington much nicer and friendlier.

Explained everything in detail and understood when I told them I only had my insurance to pay cause I'm on a fixed income. They did what I needed done and much more than I expected very thoughtful group. This was my first time being there but I feel as of right now I'm going to love going here
