Fantastic experience: Arrived today to start the process of getting a new crown. I was a bit nervous. I haven't had a new crown for over 20 years. Lexi and Dr. Renner were excellent. Aside from minor discomfort with the numbing injection, the procedure was essentially pain free. Lexi did a wonderful job with shaping my temporary crown. Very happy!

I can't say I enjoyed my trip to the dentist because I have been afraid of dentists since my youth. Dr. Renner and staff made my anxiety manageable. I truly thank them for that.

Negative experience: I REALLY like the dentist, but because of the receptionist with the longer hair, I’ll probably be going elsewhere. I was 3 mins late to my appointment. I have endometriosis and have been sick in bed all morning. I DIDNT say that though. Didn’t make an excuse!! The FIRST WORDS out of my mouth when I arrived were, “I know I’m late so if I have to reschedule, that’s okay.” I’m smart enough to know that it’s my fault I’m late, and they don’t have to tolerate it. HOWEVER, she said they’d still see me. Cool! I handed her my updated insurance card because I switched insurance. She said she’d bring it to me in the room. I had previously asked for a 30-min appointment due to my work schedule. They said that was fine. I made an off handed comment to the dentist in the treatment room that “hey, I didn’t go to work today, so take all the time you need.” I was NOT demanding that they take longer than 30 mins to do my teeth. That actually doesn’t even make sense. Who would want their dentist to take longer?? The receptionist comes into the treatment room after I’m numbed up and says, “we ask you to be 10 mins early to your appointment.” I said I know and I’m sorry. (Flashback to me saying I know I’m late, so I can reschedule if you need me to). She said they had me down for a 30-minute appointment time, so “don’t tell the doctor you can be here longer.” I’m floored. I wasn’t requesting they take longer on my teeth or dictating how they schedule. I thought I was being nice and saying, there’s no rush on my end anymore. I said I DID need a 30-min appointment before, but I didn’t work today so now it doesn’t matter. (Internally thinking I’m going insane. If I just never mentioned that I wasnt able to go to work today, it seems like this would have been a non-issue). I guess I should have kept it a secret from them. Then she says that I “should have told them in advance that I switched insurance.” I’ve never done that at other dentists but, okay. I just have always brought my new card in to my next appointment. She said there is usually a waiting period before you can get work done. I said I didn’t know that. At that point I started to get a little teary, because I’m exhausted from endometriosis pain and can’t believe this lecture I’m getting with a numbed mouth. lol. She said “I don’t mean to upset you, you’re young and may not know that about insurance.” How she didn’t realize that all of the above, NOT JUST INSURANCE, were what was making me upset, I’ll never know… Anyway…the dentist is great and the office is nice. They have lots of up to date equipment which is cool. I just don’t want to go somewhere that the receptionist (who patients mostly deal with) treats me like that. And after reading other reviews…she seems to treat many people like that. The ONLY thing I did wrong was being late. And they still decided to see me. That was their choice. The one at the front desk with the short hair is always nice. No issues with her. The rest of the staff are nice too. I’d keep going if not for today’s experience with the other woman at the front.

Negative experience: What can I say about Melissa that hasn’t already been said she is genuinely the rudest person I have ever met. I wasn’t receiving the text about the appointment because I have block unknown senders on my iPhone and don’t see them or the calls because they get denied and Melissa flew off at the handle at me saying “YOU NEED TO REPLY TO THOSE!” I tried to keep composure but simply couldn’t. Long story short MELISSA NEEDS TO GO SHE SHOULDN’T BE WORKING THERE, one of the worst humans I’ve ever met.

Negative experience: Would give this place zero stars but won’t allow. They Consistently cancel appointments, then try to tell you it’s your fault. Treat you badly if it’s been more than six months since you were last seen. Even though most of the time it’s their fault for having to reschedule or they canceled it without letting you know. Work done is shotty and won’t last a month. Receptionist needs help with treating people kindly. I Do Not recommend.

Dr Renner is always cheerful, and I once again walked away feeling I was in the best hands. I wouldn’t hesitate to refer anyone to this office.

Negative experience: Do not go here unless you want to be treated poorly by the front desk. Adding to another MELISSA review. I received a $900 bill in the mail and was surprised so I called to inquire what it was for. In the explanation I understand that what I had originally received was an estimate. I nicely said I wanted to provide some feedback as this was not clear to me when discussed IN THE ROOM, not at the front desk. To which Melissa cuts me off and says "well that's untrue because we explain that at the front desk and I know exactly what we say". And I said no it wasn't at the front desk it was in the room, when I went up to pay no one had a conversation with me and I just paid, and I am just surprised to get the bill so I wanted to provide feedback that it might not be totally clear. Melissa continuously cut me off as I was trying to speak and I had to ask her to please listen to what I was saying and not cut me off. She continued to be rude saying I was telling her how to do her job and that I was being rude. I am honestly shocked at the way I was just spoken to when calmly providing feedback that it may not be clear to people aka me and that I understand it's not their responsibility for what the insurance denies but just the explanation is helpful - not just "signing it and acknowledging it". Also, she hung up on me. Great way to treat patients. Needless to say I am finding a new dentist and DO NOT RECOMMEND going here. Ridiculous.

Fantastic experience: The professionalism is tremendous and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The Rohman address facility went through a renovation and is wheelchair friendly. The dental chair in the room is small for me. Lindsay did a wonderful job on these 80 year old teeth. I found that wrapping my self in a towel for support makes up for the small chair. Dr Morgan takes the time to make sure the teeth are in good shape and watches each closely for deterioration. She doesn't perform unnecessary operations. RRR

Negative experience: Looks like another Melissa Review! Been going to this place for a couple years now. The dental hygienist that work at this place do a great job, however Melissa takes the cake! One of the most arrogant entitled attitudes I've ever came across. Makes my Ex look like a saint! The issue I've had multiple times is basically not receiving their email/text reminders causing issues with appointments. The final issue was a $202.00 bill they sent to collections that I had no idea even existed. When I called today to reschedule my appointment (4 days in advance) Super receptionist Melissa informed me they cancelled my appointment The second I asked why in confusion, she began to tell me in a very condescending way that I don't pay my bills and I ignore them. I have not received any phone calls, texts, email, or physical mail showing that I owe a balance. Once I verified through my insurance that it was in fact legit, I paid it immediately (with 30 mins of discovering the bill existed). Bottom line is that there are TONS of places in the area to receive dental care, you don't have to put up with this lady's Crap! Don't take my word for it, just look at all the reviews that call her out directly! Any five star review apparently doesn't have anything to do with her. Apparently she also has a thing about making fun of people with autism. You'll find multiple reviews stating that as well! Have a great day!

Positive experience: We are new to River City Family Dentistry and we were pleased with the first impressions of Dr. Renner and the dental hygienists. Unfortunately, we had a very bad experience with the front desk receptionist, Melissa. Her customer service skills are definitely lacking. Over the phone, she was extremely rude and did not allow me to express myself. When I asked her to please stop interrupting me she continued to do so and proceeded to say she would not stop interrupting me. I have never felt more disrespected as a patient in any medical office before. I don’t know if this is her first office job but she definitely needs some more customer service experience and training.

Fantastic experience: I have been to a million different dentists. This is the only one that has earned my return business!!! They are attentive and truly care about what they are doing. I struggle with having work done in my mouth. They have always gone out of their way to make sure I'm comfortable and not in pain. That right there is 1st class service in my opinion!!!!

Negative experience: Last time I went to have my teeth cleaned they butchered my gums, and I never bled so much in my life. I thought well maybe I’m aging and my gums are just more sensitive. Anyway, I had an appointment today and I called them as I was on my way to let them know that I was running late. They told me that they could see me if I arrived by 10 after. I walked in at 1:11 PM. I stood there and waited for a minute as she told me that she was going to check to see if they would still see me today. After waiting a minute or two, she told me to have a seat, after another minute, she told me that I could not be seen today and I would have to reschedule. I replied by saying that on the phone she told me that if I arrived at 10 after I could be seen. I also said that I’m a traveling healthcare worker and I can only be seen on Mondays. I said I have rescheduled this appointment three times Because of my job and I really need to be seen today. She told me if it was so important for me to be seen today then and I should’ve been early and time. I said, i’m sorry, but I was working in the yard since it was a nice day and I lost track of time. I again stated that I arrived within the allotted time and I don’t understand why they can’t see me today. The receptionist’s coworker turned around and said actually you arrived at 1:12 PM. I responded that according to my phone it was 1:11 PM when I walked through the door, (but when I arrived in the parking lot it was 1:10pm). The receptionist pointed to the door and said you can leave now. I responded by saying I will never be back if I leave. The receptionist responded saying, “good and we won’t miss you.! “ What is wrong with these people?

Positive experience: Great dentist work and very professional. However, I have issues with the receptionist desk. This morning, I was running late due to forces outside of my control and called to let them know this ahead of time and that my eta was 7:11am. But I was told that unless I was there by 7:10, they would not take me. I asked if I could reschedule, but I was not allowed to make another 7am appointment because "I might miss it again" even though I made the last two 7am appointments. The 7am timeslot is the only one that I can use due to work, but the receptionist was just so unsympathetic to the fact that sometimes life happens and people are not 100% perfect all the time to everything. I would have continued to go here, but I guess I will have to find somewhere else.

Negative experience: Don't even dare think you can insult them and want to go elsewhere for a second opinion, they will ban you from making future appointments! The receptionist is completely rude, snotty and condescending. Dr. Renner did amazing work but I think this place weeds out the "poor ppl" and only wants clients with $$. Would definitely recommend going to a dentist that actually cares about YOUR wants and not what will make them the most money.

Negative experience: Technically O.K. but very much lacking in information and cost from start to finish. To begin with, I was not informed beforehand of the high cost of the X-rays and the doctor's consultation fee. Then I was sent to a periodontist for the removal of several teeth which likely would have cost less in the doctor's office. Then after I was advised of the cost of my treatment plan and having paid $1200 for that cost I was told that my insurance wouldn't cover it and I had to pay an additional $1200. I would hasten to tell my friends and acquaintances to be wary of this practice.
