Negative experience: This office is the worst Bobby the business manager is mean. Be warned go to another oral surgeon offices. A lot of turn around. Hope they close.

Negative experience: This is the second time this is happened to me so let me be your cautionary tale.... I recently moved to the Rockland area and was looking for a new dentist. Through my search, i discovered Smile & Implant Center. I will start with my positive experience because not everything was bad. The office i arrived at was beautiful, clean, with great amenities. My dental tech was lovely and the experience that I had within the office was very enjoyable. Based on this alone, i would've been a long time client. Here is where things took a turn. First of all, when i arrived, i offered to call my previous dentist to send over my medical records. I was told by the receptionist "we do all of our own stuff." However, when i received my bill, i was charged for the x-rays that they took because I had already gotten x-rays done at my previous dentist and my insurance has restrictions on the frequency of x-rays and what is covered. Second, immediately after my appointment with minimal information, I was ushered out of the patient room into an office where a gentleman went over the financial requirements that I would have ahead of me. I am someone who has had very minimal dental work over the years and here I was being told by this man that I required thousands of dollars of work and that he recommended I increase my overall dental coverage come open enrollment. I had this happen once when I lived in Tampa, FL and i took my scans to another dentist and they saw very minimal issues with any of my teeth and told me that I was right to trust my gut and no longer see that dentist. I had the same feeling leaving this office. I called the Smile Center to request my x-rays and i was asked why i wanted them and if I could wait for my $1000 procedure to be done before she could send them to me. I told her that I would prefer to have them sooner. Her first reaction was "are you going to cancel your appointment?" My response was "I do not understand why there is an issue with sending my own patient records." Everyone is entitled to a second opinion when it comes to them medical care and this request should have never been a question. This interaction alone sent my red alarms off and I ultimately decided to cancel my appointment because I no longer had trust with this practice. They did eventually send me my x-rays as requested. In the mean time - I sent my x-rays to my long time childhood dentist in another state and here was his response: "Your teeth look beautiful! The only issue I see is a very small pair of cavities. All of the other teeth appear to be in perfect health. If you ever have an expensive treatment plan like this, run for your life and find a more conservative local practice." In summary, if you have an endless supply of funds and money is of no issue, i think this place would be fine. But, I have a family to take care of and prefer a practice that I can trust and will only require minimal procedures when absolutely needed. For these reasons, i will not be returning to the Smile Center.

Fantastic experience: I had such a great experience at this office, I had to leave a review. Dr. McNerney was recommended to me by my parents. Like a lot of people I had put off going to the dentist for some time because I feared the experience. I contacted the office for a second opinion after seeing another Dentist and feeling like something felt off. When I called Smile Center of Rockland, they checked in to consider my level of pain with how soon I needed to get in. They provided me great appointment options with my work schedule. The atmosphere was beyond relaxing, they had a stellar music playlist that i seriously enjoyed and they had a gel type mat on the chair that I could have fallen asleep on it was so lovely. My situation ended up being larger than expected and they navigated addressing the problem right then and there, I was so surprised they did not make me reschedule for another day but they made it work! Before they performed any work they provided me an explanation of costs and education on what the plan will be to continue treatment in the future. Dr. McNerney made me feel so comfortable the entire time, I was most impressed with his needle skills, I usually have to be lathered in numbing ointment but he injected without me flinching or feeling a thing! That floored me, I truly left there shocked at my experience. I am not a fan of the dentist but this was worry free I knew I was in good hands and he was beyond knowledgeable in his field. I am so happy I called there office! I am looking forward to the progress of my teeth! Thank you for giving Dentist a new name! I am looking forward to my next appointment!!

Fantastic experience: My name is Meloney Stephenson.Today was my first visit to this dentist. I’m telling you, as soon as I walked in, everybody was warm and welcoming. All the staff members are very friendly, kind, and patient. I had an issue with my car and they worked with me. This is my new dentist, they explain everything that they are doing step-by-step. The doctor is excellent, funny, kind, and Understanding, they tell you and show you everything that’s wrong with your teeth and what needs to be done I love this dentist already and he’s gonna be my dentist forever. Everyone was nice and kind. I’ve been to a couple of dentists before and this is the best dentist, I recommend all my family members and coworkers to this excellent doctor. My first cleaning was beautiful 100%.

Fantastic experience: Needed relatively urgent help and was able to get a consultation very quickly. Had the first stage of a series of visits and was very pleased. The staff are pros straight up. They are also very friendly. It is easy to see, as Dr. McNerney sets the bar. My gut is that he lives and breathes his work. He teaches as he works which is exactly what is needed everywhere. I do not expect to have any issues that are in their power to prevent.

I’m in my 40s, and after so many bad experiences, I usually get heart palpitations just thinking about a visit. But this dentist and his team completely changed my experience. What started out as great pain once I told Dr. M and team they rectified things and while this certainly not fun I would never want anyone else to be my dentist. Fantastic experience: I was so pleased with my experience at the Smile And Implant Center Of Rockland and with Dr. James McNerney. I was in severe pain this morning and I called the office at 8:30 AM to make an appointment. Within an hour I was sitting in the dentist chair and by 10 o’clock, Dr. McNerney was performing a root canal to relieve my pain. He was highly skilled and professional as was his staff. Dr. McNerney took care of my emergency in a professional manner with excellent pain management. The entire process, including permanent crown was done by noon. I can’t express how grateful and pleased I am by the whole process. Thank you Dr. McNerney and staff.

It’s like the Truman Show- EVERYONE that enters and leaves is greeted by name with smiles, stories continued and laughs! There is constant celebration and unity at this office. The level of respect shown between the doctor and all the hygienists amazing me. This place is such a well-oiled machine .. Clean? Try immaculately clean. Ever area/corner - sparkling. Now the real deal: My daughter has been through it all … poor thing needed braces and implants. La Petite Dent sent us with confidence to Dr. McNerney. The process took 5 years at LPD and under a year here. Her mouth is GORGEOUS. She is 18 off to school with a million dollar smile thanks to Dr M. I’m in the process of getting my clench under control. I’ve had lots of fillings also filled that my previous dentist COMPLETED MISSED. I plan to try the 9 month Botox injections- I’ve been in pain for over 30 years. Also- had the whitening trays- you get whitening gel EVERY TIME YOU HAVE A CLEANING (nope! Not extra!) so you can whiten 2-3x a year! I trust Dr. M wholeheartedly 100%. Staff to note: Please be mindful that I’m only noting the staff I’ve encountered - I’m sure there are ALL phenomenal! Kailey: front desk- SMILES, friendly , kind and so so so good at her job. (Very THOROUGH!) Bobby: not just your office finance man.. he invests his time knowing exactly what you will get done- explaining it on a big screen- and you leave UNDERSTANDING what’s next .. also super friendly and charming! Lucy: hygienist that did all my original films SUPER SUPER knowledgeable, efficient and KIND!!!!! Alicia : my oral hygienist- sooooo efficient and also knowledgeable and walks me through every step. Coffee, water, snack and pleasant waiting area with fun shows.. This office has the most advanced technology in Rockland County. Leave where you go and go HERE. My entire family now goes.

Fantastic experience: Called Dr. McNerney’s office the Friday, of Memorial Day Weekend, with a cracked tooth. Dr. McNerney took my call, reviewed some pic and advised that it was urgent but could wait until the office opened on Tuesday. They squeeze me in for an appointment at 10 AM Tuesday and within 2 hours, prep the tooth and put a new cap in place. Note, the plot twist was I needed to be ready for an international flight and had an hard deadline. Amazing team, amazing focus and they came to the rescue!

Love it here A++++++++++ Update: I had expensive and excessive dental work done about two years prior ( multiple veneers and implants)and Haven’t been there since then. Today as I walk through the door every single employee greeted me by my first name. Wow! I felt so special…!I Couldn’t believe they remember me! I still owe you them a smaller amount of my original bill and when I hit financial hard times they worked with me and offered me certain payment plans. They actually care about you as a person and not a $. About a month ago, I had a Veneer cap on my front tooth break and crack off and I knew the repair would cost me on top of the visit. When I told the dental hygienist that I couldn’t afford the cleaning today, they decided to do it to me no charge and then quickly fixed my veneer that was visibly noticeable. All day after my appointment i just couldn’t stop thinking about what a wonderful little dentist office this is and I’ve never been treated this good from any doctor or dental office in my life. I recommend them to anybody, even if you have to travel far it is worth it Or have a small repair it’s worth it. I’ve also never waited more than three minutes while in they’re waiting room. (I’ve had atleast 50 appointments with them) The review below me gave them less stars because of 45 minute wait. in my experience most medical appointments are a wait at least 45 minutes. Every time I see Bobby, their finance person I feel like I’m seeing an old cousin that I haven’t seen in forever. He’s so nice. I also dealt with I think a newer dental hygienist today and she was really down to earth cool and good at explaining things I didn’t understand. The whole office is wonderful. I wish I could give more than five stars. Thank you guys again for having me as a patient. Negative experience: A good friend referred me to this dental office. The office itself is beautiful, impeccably clean, and has updated technology, which I appreciated. They were very thorough with the X-rays and scans, which took some time, but I didn’t mind since they were clearly meticulous. However, instead of discussing the recommended treatments afterwards , the dental hygienist told me I’d need to return for another appointment with the dentist to go over the results. This seemed a bit unusual, but I went ahead and scheduled the follow-up. At the second appointment, I arrived on time but waited over 45 minutes without anyone informing me that the dentist was running late. When the dentist finally came in, he spent a lot of time explaining how I supposedly needed seven crowns to improve the “aesthetic” of my teeth. While I know I have a few cavities, this recommendation felt excessive. Since the appointment ran long and I had a prior commitment, I couldn’t stay to discuss the details of the work, payment options, or insurance with the admin team. They assured me I’d receive an email or call with that information, but it’s been three weeks, and I’ve heard nothing. This experience has been a complete waste of my time. I’ll be requesting my X-rays and looking for a different dental office, as this lack of communication and disregard for customer service is unacceptable.

Fantastic experience: From the minute you walk into the office you are put at ease & made to feel welcome. The staff is friendly, thorough and never rushes you. This is the first time in my life that I don’t experience anxiety attacks. This is a 10 thumbs up dental office.

Fantastic experience: With a milestone birthday coming up, I had cracked off part of a tooth eating an apple. A crown was needed and in the past multiple visits were involved. Today I went in and (thanks to new state of the art technology) an impression of my mouth was made with a camera in my mouth, the images were sent to a computer and those images sent to a machine that actually formed my crown from scratch. Dr. McNerney matched the color to my teeth perfectly and then the crown was glazed and put in. It fit PERFECT. All of this was done in under two hours - amazing! I love that the office opens at 7:30 and I can go in before I go to work. Lucy has been my hygienist for years and is the very best. The entire staff are always smiling and make you feel welcome. Great music plays in each room and the waterfall on the t.v. relaxes you while your work is done. Thank you for giving me back my smile for photos with my family for my birthday! I give the Smile Center the best recommendation possible.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming to the Smile Center for 25+ years. Dr. McNerney and his entire staff are true professionals. It’s a very well run office and I always have confidence that they have my best interest at heart. I don’t live nearby but have no problem making the trip because of the excellent service and comfort I receive from everyone in this office.

Fantastic experience: The entire staff is sooo friendly, welcoming, and open to explain all the steps of the appointment in detail. When I had questions of cost for insurance each step was well explained, detail, and organized. This office is ran very well and has a great staff and doctor.!
