He immediately put me at ease with his calm demeanor and his practice of explaining procedures and answering my questions. His practice is state-of-the-art with advanced imaging; he detected issues present in my teeth that went undetected by two previous practitioners! I am grateful to him for restoring my oral health. Thanks to his skills, compliments on my smile are now a daily occurrence!

Negative experience: I called to make an appointment but the receptionist was yelling at someone and I asked her to pls stop yelling. Then she was unfamiliar with the insurance that their office was accepting and when I asked to speak to someone else she hung up on me. Now I keep calling and she just puts me on hold. That’s so unprofessional and rude. Seriously she represents your office and is very unprofessional. She needs extensive customer service training

Negative experience: I’m really disappointed with how this office handled a very simple request. I called over a month ago about getting a new set of retainers after completing an expensive Invisalign treatment. It took multiple phone calls and talking to several different people just to get my request understood. After that, I never heard back. I waited a month, then called again and was told someone would follow up — which didn’t happen. I called again the next day, spoke to two more people, and once again had to explain the entire situation from the beginning. There is clearly a lot of miscommunication within the office, which is frustrating, especially when it comes to post-treatment care that patients depend on. After the amount of money spent here, I expected much better organization and responsiveness.

Fantastic experience: I had the best service. They allowed me to come with my 10wweks old baby and everyone was hands on and amazing with him. They even gave me breaks in between to hold him. I’m so happy and grateful, my heart is so full. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Michael Wright did a wonderful job for me when I had a broken front tooth. The office was able to schedule me very quickly and Dr. Wright spent quite a bit of time making sure I was able to walk out of the initial appointment feeling good about my smile, and that we had a follow up plan to address the issue permanently. All in all a great experience.

Fantastic experience: I’d give them 6 stars if I could. The staff and Dr. Wright were great. Very professional and helpful. They answered all of my questions and the chat with Dr. Wright didn’t feel rushed. Shout out to Ennesa, who was has been VERY patient, knowledgeable, forthright, and helpful with helping me to understand the insurance process. Update: They have done an exceptional job and the work looks great. They have bent over backwards to help me with last minute schedule changes and worked closely and tirelessly on my insurance coverage. Update 2: I had to go on short-fuse military orders overseas and Dr. Wright and Ennesa worked hard to ensure I had everything I needed on time, including a last-minute replacement of a dental prosthesis the day before I left. Dr. Wright is clearly a consummate professional who wants to get the best results for his patients, including allowing more time for, in my case, my bone to fully grow prior to placing the final implants. He won’t rush things like some “dental mills” might, or because the patients just wants it to be done. He takes pride in his work and it shows. Update 3: I’ve had implants (4 upper front teeth) for 2 months and they’re indistinguishable from real teeth AND real gums. Dr. Wright and his staff have been responsive and accommodating throughout this whole process and I’m very happy with how things have turned out. Update 4 Excellent care as always! Professional yet personable! Highly recommend Dr. Wright!

Fantastic experience: Linda did an amazing job with my cleaning. I’ve been going here for years and they’ve always done stand up work.

Negative experience: Back in February, I went in for a denture consult and after X-rays and scans were taken Dr. Michael Wright came in and discussed the dentures with me along with what I took to be his preferred implant service. While he clearly works with dentures as advertised on the website, I noted he spoke about them very negatively. Saying things like most people get them and don't like them and there is no refunds. However, he never told me at any time during that consult that I "needed" something different. Wouldn't that have been the time to do that? His office later sent a treatment plan which reflected $24k for implant bridges and such. I immediately called and stated I couldn't afford it and requested a plan for the dentures which were much more reasonable. They then emailed it to me. I came back a few times for a comprehensive exam which Wright recommended which resulted in a deep dental cleaning and filling repair. Once this work was done, I scheduled an appointment for the denture treatment and this man then tells me I am not a candidate for dentures and my only option is to pay him $24k for implants. So, I am wondering why this man, Wright, didn't tell me this when I came in for the consultation that was what I was there for. Why did his office send me a treatment plan for partial dentures if I wasn't a candidate for dentures and I really "needed" implants? I believe this guy is a liar and conducted himself in an extremely unprofessional manner. I wouldn't let him work on my dog's teeth. Needless to say, I am done with this practice and will seek a more reputable practice to do business with.

Fantastic experience: It was great. Dr. Mike was excellent as well as the exceptional staff, Jin, Suzy and Rachel. Overall I had a very good experience today.

Negative experience: Very money minded business place. Been to lot of dentist places, and I don’t know how they have all positive reviews but there is something no right and even the vibe is very off putting. They have some fancy instruments and you will randomly see weird charges and you ask, their patent answer is your insurance didn’t cover. They will do random x-ray without checking with you as to why it is recommended or your insurance. They really do not care and they are a materialistic minded business. I think they just feel entitled that they have an office in Bethesda and anyone that walks in are millionaires and won’t mind paying extra $100 once in a while. Randomly you will find $100-$150 charge during your 6 months cleaning and guess the standard response and you thought dental cleaning is covered by the insurance as it has been with other places and all on a sudden nothing is covered and my insurance for last 10 yrs is crap.Ohh and the attitude and snobbish behavior if you question for the money or procedure that they recommended.

Negative experience: They have a very competent dental hygienist, but the overall service—particularly at the front desk—has declined significantly over the past year. I had a confirmed cleaning appointment and received a call from their office the day before to reconfirm it. They emphasize a $55 fee for cancellations without 24-hour notice. However, when I arrived promptly at 9 a.m. the next morning, I was informed—without prior notice—that they have found out that my insurance had been deactivated. This was both frustrating and inconvenient, especially as I had arranged special needs childcare for my disabled child in order to attend the appointment. When I later called to provide feedback and ask why they didn’t inform me about the insurance issue during the confirmation call, the front desk staff was extremely rude and dismissive. A second person, who identified herself as “one of the doctors,” got on the line and stated that the call was being recorded and that insurance issues were not their responsibility. I found the tone condescending and unprofessional. She tried to intimidate me by accusing me of "threatening" to post an online review. In my experience, this office lacks basic customer service, shows little regard for patient time or circumstances, and charges high prices without delivering the respect or support patients deserve. I would not recommend going there. BEWARE: All positive reviews are 5 star, which is unrealistic, it is so easy to "receive positive reviews" online these days. Read the negative reviews carefully.

Dr. Willis has smoothly performed all of my procedures, showing kindness and understanding if I ever had a moment of discomfort. Fantastic experience: After putting off dental work for a couple of years, I found this practice and have now been more times than I can count in the last year, trying to undo my prior dental neglect. Everyone has been so welcoming and friendly each visit - from Nastya at the front desk (who always works with my particular scheduling requests and billing questions) to Linda for my cleanings (who patiently reminds me each appointment that she really meant it about flossing). Chanie and Dr. Maria took care of my numerous crowns and fillings (even as I continually popped the temporaries out) and made sure I was as comfortable as possible. Fantastic experience: If you’re in need of an amazing dental service look no further than Smile Design Studio. The entire team from the front desk receptionist ladies to the amazing clinicians are top tier. The cherry on top is the state of the art technology they use in diagnosing and making informed decisions. My sister had a cavity that was not detected by another dentist 8 months prior and thankfully once we made the switch it was detected and taken care of immediately. I really appreciated the staff who worked with my deaf sister as they accommodated her and made sure she was able to successfully undergo the procedure without any hindrance. They are just all around fabulous. Thanks you all for your endless dedication to patients care.

Willis and Maria not only take great care of my teeth but take the time to answer all my questions, ensuring that I understand the treatment plan. The staff is absolutely outstanding!!! Nastya, Chanie and Jineth, just to name a few greet me by name as soon as I enter and always have kind words and smiles to brighten the day. In fact, I have not met one staff member that has not greeted me with a smile and a hello. The clinic is efficient, never waiting more than 5 minutes for your appointment and they make sure you don’t miss an appointment with timely text reminders, emails or phone calls.
