Positive experience: My hygenist, Denise Smith, is excellent in cleaning my teeth. I have a sensitive area which she cleans it thoroughly without any discomfort to me. Any explanations of work being done is thoroughly explained before the dentist examines my teeth. From my very first visit, it has been a pleasant experience. That carries through to the dentist & other office personnel.

Everyone from the office staff (Melissa, Christiana, Rachelle), the dental assistant (Rossy), to Dr. Deford has been nothing less than exceptional. Even the newest addition to the office staff Amanda was a pleasure to deal with. They have a great attention to detail and are sure to provide the best care possible. As someone with dental anxiety I can say they go above and beyond to make me feel comfortable with a pain free visit.

Fantastic experience: Very pleasant experience. This was my first appointment with this dentist. All the staff I interacted with were outgoing and easy to talk to. The process went smoothly. I arrived a few minutes early for my appointment and was greeted upon arrival. I was taken back to get started at the time the appointment was scheduled to begin. The appointment was completed in a timely manner without complication. All the charges and coverage were laid out in advance in writing, so no surprises. I am happy with the outcome and my choice to go here

Fantastic experience: I arrived for my 6 month check up and I was told that due to an unexpected staffing shortage, my dental hygienist was unable to clean my teeth. My dentist, Dr. DeFord offered to clean my teeth instead of causing me to reschedule my appointment. Of course, I accepted and she did a wonderful job. Now that is excellent patient care!

Fantastic experience: Before we moved to DE we were patients of an extraordinary and lauded dentist in northern NJ. I despaired of finding an equally accomplished dentist…until Dr. Dua was recommended to us. I am increasingly impressed by Dr. Dua’s diagnoses and treatment of dental issues I have had and am very happy to know we are once again in very professional and accomplished dental care. He and his staff are extraordinary.

Fantastic experience: My hygienist Kelly was awesome! Informative and personable, offered tips and techniques to help maintain my oral health. Dr DeFord will be repairing a tooth to allow me to save it from some older prior dental work. Great office and team!

Fantastic experience: I haven’t been back for possibly over a year because I was upset that they reprimanded me missing my appointment twice. I even paid a fine. The both times were excusable offenses in my opinion. First I was sick ( can’t possibly go when you have a cough and a cold) and second was a winter storm. Anyway I finally decided to get over it and good thing because I had the best service , best cleaning I have ever received. Best ever. Denise did very well. I will give another hygienist a chance in my next visit, so we will see, maybe the 1 year of not getting a professional cleaning really made a difference and I was just feeling the benefit of it. And usual Dr dua is always a pleasant visit.

Positive experience: The people and the doctor are simply amazing. No doubt I hate the dentist but they made my experience at least tolerable. 1 grip is I will be in debt for quite a long time and I have dental insurance, which Im sure is out of their control for the most part. Kudos to them for overcoming my anxiety and making me recommit to the health of my teeth regardless of the expense.

Negative experience: Overall, my experience at the dental office was similar to any other. However, I was not informed that they did not accept my dental insurance until weeks later. I received a phone call from someone whose name I do not recall. During the call, she asked me, "Do you have the money to pay, yes or no?" I found this approach to be both rude and unprofessional.

Fantastic experience: What should have been painful and uncomfortable was totally comfortable and pain free work on my front teeth. Dr Dua showed my 3D digital and actual models of my teeth now and in the future and we discussed the options by easily visualizing them. That was smooth and productive.

Fantastic experience: Dental associates of Hockessin is so great. I walked in yesterday, Monday without an appointment because I was in oral pain, was kinda foggy brained and I needed help. They stepped up to make room for a x-ray of the afflicted area and Dr. Dua walked in to deliver his no nonsense assessment. Advanced gum disease! A specialist is in the cards and I only hope he might include finding one in Midtown Manhatten!
