Gentle Dental Kent Station

Fantastic experience: I had my teeth cleaned by Molly at Gentle Dental in Kent Station today. I always enjoy my visits and always leave satisfied. I am one of the lucky ones who has a great hygienist.

Fantastic experience: Pretty good office all around. The main receptionist is really nice and great at her job, the hygienist was friendly and offered helpful advice, and the dentist knows what he's doing and takes comments about issues your having seriously and addresses them. Only complaint is that too many people use this dentist office so they can be pretty busy making scheduling somewhat difficult.

Positive experience: GPS took me to the wrong place for that address. Visit was very good once I was there.

Fantastic experience: Efficient and meticulous. Dr. Zevallos and his team were great! Informative and took the time to walk me through my treatment plan after my X-rays and exam, as well as consider my options by priority. Molly cleaned my teeth and made my experience personal. I didn’t feel like “just” another patient. It was a pleasure getting to know her and my needs being heard. All the staff were pleasant and the front office folks were helpful in understanding my coverage. I’m looking forward to getting everything taken care of and would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I had to switch dentists due to my provider no longer being in network and leaving the state. I was worried about finding the same level of care but once I went to Gentle Dental all my worries went away. Everyone is very nice and patient. They explained all the steps of the X-rays, exam, and cleaning, and went over my X-rays in detail. They even gave me an estimate for a redo of a filling with my insurance. I highly recommend Gentle Dental!

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient at Gentle Dental for years and have always had a wonderful experience. The entire staff is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. They all know who I am when I come in, and it truly feels like family every visit. I have seen Dr. Yip, Dr. Zevellos, and Molly as my dental hygienist, and every experience — from routine cleanings to crowns — has been excellent. One thing I especially appreciated was having a porcelain cap on one of my front teeth replaced. I was extremely nervous because my previous dentist in California had originally done such an amazing job, and I was worried it wouldn’t look natural. Since it was one of my front teeth, I was very particular about the outcome. The team at Gentle Dental completely exceeded my expectations. The replacement looks beautiful and natural, and they made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. I couldn’t be happier with the care I’ve received here and highly recommend them.

Haha! But seriously, I give them a solid 5 stars! 10/10. I’ve been coming here on and off. By “off,” I mean I moved two hours away, making it harder for me to visit regularly. Despite the distance, I still make the two-hour drive to Kent. I love the entire team. From the front desk, Val, who works around my schedule and Dr. Yip’s, my dental hygienist. Dr. Yip she’s very knowledgeable. I appreciate how quick, understanding, and friendly she is. And of course, Petra, Dr. Yip’s right-hand gal for a while now. She’s also very knowledgeable! Together, they make a great team. They’re quick and steady, and I don’t have to worry about any pain or confusion when I’m there. Thank you, team, for working with me despite my busy and crazy life! Negative experience: I would highly suggest seeking treatment else where. This place is worst than taking your car to the mechanic. They will always find a way to get money out of you. Even if it's just a regular cleaning, they will find a way to come for your pockets. This place is NOT gentle at all. I expressed many times my gums are sore yet they steady poke you with no care in the world. They don't listen to your concerns always in a rush to get to the next patient.Custoner service could be better as well. It just seems like all they care about is money and not enough about you. I don't think I will be returning

Fantastic experience: Dr Yip, yesterday it never crossed my mind to ask if you could recommend an electric toothbrush/water flosser? After today’s cleaning my teeth were noticeably brighter. First Lilly cleaned and polished them, then Dr. Yip (fantastic dentist) worked on them to remove hardened plaque and tarter with a scraper. Then Dr. Yip “carefully” and “thoroughly” removed remaining plaque and tarter with a water flosser. The water floss deep cleaned my gums, between my teeth and left my mouth and gums feeling clean & healthy. I’ll be returning soon to have a couple cavities filled. But, I’m vowing to never get another cavity .

Negative experience: Hello, this is to inform you I had an appointment for 12:00 today for teeth cleaning and exam. That didn't happen. I was told if I have X-ray less than six months old they will be accepted, and I provided the X-ray, but I was forced to have X-ray taken again. I repeatedly denied to have more X-ray and be exposed to more radiation but I ended with no choice. After the X-ray was done Dr. Yip came in the room and examined my teeth and refused to clean my teeth. I asked her twice to go ahead and clean me teeth as it has been 5 months I have had my teeth cleaned and she said I need deep cleaning and refused to clean my teeth. I am totally dissatisfied with your service.

Fantastic experience: I, sadly, needed a root canal on my front tooth due to a nasty abscess and they not only got it done quickly and near painlessly, they answered all my questions and concerns, rebuilt my tooth properly, and were just great people. I'm coming from the Capital Hill/Seattle branch to this one and the staff and service is just as amazing as there. My mouth tastes fresher ever since. It really makes a difference and I am excited to get my minor cavities filled and keep my cleanings going with Gentle Dental. Update 2025: Still awesome. Ive had no cavities or gum issues since. They do my cleanings peefevt everytime and I personally love getting my teeth scraped clean and gums dug into! 10/10

Fantastic experience: I had a very positive experience on my first visit! The waiting area was very nice, modern and even had a coffee bar! The staff was courteous and greeted me withba good morning! My doctor's assistant has a lovely personality and very professional! My dentist is extremely nice, courteous and I like his gentle approach and made me feel comfortable and valued as a patient. He clearly explained my treatment, answered my questions and both him and his assistant were very personable. Both my husband and I were very pleasantly impressed!

Negative experience: August 8, 2025. dental work at Gentle Dental in Kent, Wa, (Kent Station) with Dr. Patsy Yip was terrible! I got a filling on my tooth that is uneven, crooked, looks terrible and still hurts, i was givin a shot to numb the wrong tooth, also it was very painful it felt like the needle was put in the bottom of my cheek instead of gum area, my nerves when on fire in my mouth in that spot, it was the worse experience I’ve had at a dentist office before, now my tooth is not as it should be, I’m very disappointed!

Fantastic experience: The staff here is top tier. At my old dentist, I always felt like a burden who they didn’t want. Here, the front desk is always so welcoming, they run on time, and it’s clean. Dr. Yip is sweet and caring and always asks questions to make sure I know what is happening and am well cared for. She noticed things like my implant that other dentists just ignored. Truly excellent practice!

Fantastic experience: I hate the dentist but this one was not bad at all. Super gentle and explained everything before doing it. I had a cleaning and they found a small cavity, fixed it same day. Didn’t feel rushed. Office was clean and modern. Not scary like some others.

Negative experience: The one star is based upon one super important thing for every dental office and that is hygiene! I was very disappointed with my recent visit to this dental office. I noticed the dental assistant using a dental filing instrument to file her own nails — right there in the treatment area. What was even more concerning is that she didn’t seem to sterilize the tool afterward. This raises serious concerns about hygiene and patient safety. Cleanliness and proper sterilization should be a top priority in any medical or dental setting. I hope the office takes this feedback seriously and addresses the issue. If anyone else witness such a thing, please also file a complaint to American Association of Dental Boards (AADB) .

Fantastic experience: My family really appreciates that Dr Zevallos was open on a Saturday and got my elderly 86 yr old father in for 2 emergency extractions. The doctor was very caring and his staff was extremely kind and professional. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to Gentle Dental for about 3 years now, and Friday was the culmination of lots of hard work. When I first came in, my teeth were in pretty bad shape and needed lots of help. Dr. Z and Molly helped me map out a treatment plan that was not only timely, but took full advantage of my dental coverage. That made the whole process easier to swallow (pin intended). It spanned from my very first in-depth tooth cleaning allllll the way to an implant for a missing molar. I was super nervous about the idea of an implant, but the ladies up front told me about how smooth their experience had gone. And when I got halfway through the implant process, I changed jobs and got new insurance. So the practice manager helped me schedule everything so it worked with my benefits and pay checks. Getting the implant crown put on Friday was so meaningful to me. It marked the last "big" thing I needed to correct. Now I get to just enjoy routine maintenance. I can't express how grateful I am to the whole team there for walking me through this journey, one bite at a time. Thanks guys!!!

Negative experience: I brought my mom here to get dentures. Within a week of having them, she happened to be eating chicken soup with veggies and suddenly she heard a cracking noise. The lower denture had cracked in half. Immediately we went back to dental office and to my surprise they were willing to fix it but they charged 300 to my insurance. Please do not come to this place for dentures! They won't last not even a week!! Go somewhere else

Negative experience: I had a deeply upsetting experience at this Gentle Dental location in Kent, WA with Dr. Patsy Yip. From the beginning, she roughly stretched my lips with her fingers to the point of pain. When I flinched, she asked if I was "alright" in a dismissive tone, but offered no apology or adjustment in her approach. She continued the exam using a sharp periodontal tool, applying so much pressure during the gum measurements that I physically jumped. After enduring this for several minutes, I calmly said I was done and wanted to leave. Rather than respect that, Dr. Yip insisted I lay back down and said she would rinse my mouth. She then proceeded to spray water not into my mouth but all over my hair and shirt. I again said I wanted to leave—not to argue, not to fight, just to go. But she stood between me and my belongings, rolled her eyes, and continued to pressure me to sit back down. I had to ask several times before the assistant finally stepped around her to retrieve my items so I could exit. Later, I received a call from someone identifying as the office manager. While she offered a half-hearted apology, she quickly turned the conversation to defending Dr. Yip, saying no one had ever complained about her before. I explained this wasn’t my first experience—it was my last. I wasn’t interested in debating the clinic’s opinion of her. My experience was painful, dismissive, and traumatic. No patient should be made to feel trapped, humiliated, or ignored when they express clear distress. I left shaken, soaked, and angry. I strongly urge others to seek care elsewhere. Edit: Their auto-response below reflects that they didn't actually read my review, but merely saw the number of stars and wished to appear to care about the issue. As mentioned, I've already spoken to the location manager who contacted me after I was finally allowed to leave.

Fantastic experience: I was previously a patient at Gentle Dental's West Seattle branch, which has since closed—I'm not sure why. Now, my whole family goes to the Gentle Dental location in Kent. I made an appointment there and am very pleased with the service I've received. The staff is friendly and takes the time to explain all the procedures before my cleaning. Overall, I am satisfied with the care I have received.

Fantastic experience: I can’t tell you how much I trust Dr. Yip, Dr. Z, and various endodontist here. Quality of service has been consistently amazing start from the front with Val who is very professional & knowledgeable. I’ve gotten fillings, root canals, crowns, and all my wisdom teeth removed here with not one bad experience in 9+ years. The one time I went somewhere else, left me in pain for 2 months — but of course came back here and it was fixed just like that. I am so thankful to have found such a great & clean dentist place. Like rarely any dust at reception and bathroom is spotless, appreciate the pride as it reflects the quality.

Fantastic experience: I needed 2 crown preps done today and I was very nervous today. My experience with Dr. Z and Danielle put all my fears to rest. I had nitrous oxide which helped me feel so much more comfortable. I also was given a pillow and blanket. They let me bring in my own headset so I could listen to my music. The pain I thought I would have did not even exist. The Z team is so knowledgeable and explained everything so well, I understood at each step what would happen next. I also saw the dentist, Dr. Zavalo and explained to him the issues that brought me to a new practice. I am hopeful that this will be a better experience.

Fantastic experience: Both my wife and I come here and she recently had a crown installed. She couldn’t stop talking about how good the numbing was with Dr. Zevallos as she has had numbing issues in the past on this tooth with previous dental offices. I also came here to get my wisdom teeth removed with Dr.Wang and he did a great job also. I recommend this place to family and friends.
