Fantastic experience: This is my first time going to Pacific Northwest Periodontics. I went there because my dentist named Dr. Beack gave me a referral about my gum recession needing to be checked. The people there are really great people when I visited for my checkup first time with my father. I forgot to mentioned that Nettie is the one that helped me walk through for my pre-surgery checkup. She answered all my curious questions and she’s awesome. I am about to get my gum graft surgery taken care of for the very first time and I know it’s going to go well. The ones that I’ve met, I just wanted to say thank you. When I know the names, I will edit the review. Edit on Feb 27 2026: I just finished my suture removal for my upper right gum graft follow up surgery with Nettie and I have to say that it was a great experience especially it being my first time. I just wanted to say thank you Dr. Song, Krystal, and Nettie for the great support and assistance! I know I have another gum recession that needs to be taken care of next year for my upper left, but if it does recede more, I will definitely go back to you guys for another gum graft surgery when the time comes. If friends/family need their teeth to be check, I’ll let them know about you guys. And yeah, thank you guys again!

Fantastic experience: I've only had an exam and not yet had a procedure. I was impressed with how friendly and thoughtful all of the staff was in explaining everything. Each step of the exam was explained as it was taking place, and then at the conclusion of the exam a thorough explanation of the planned procedure and then followed by a breakdown of the future costs. Even the receptionist explained how to fill out the online form efficiently. The care and attention to every detail during the exam puts me as ease as I go into the procedure.

Negative experience: This should be zero stars, not even a 1 star, I am so upset. I saw Dr. Song for a consultation and waited 45 minutes past my appointment time. When she finally walked in and saw the photos on the screen, she exclaimed, “Wow, just wow!” I was startled and didn’t understand why she was reacting that way. She immediately started questioning my health, suggesting I might have diabetes or high cholesterol, which I do not. When I told her my last blood test was just last month, she ignored that. Then she examined some mild gum inflammation above my two front teeth, diagnosed it as lichen planus, handed me a sheet, and scheduled a biopsy just a few days later. She even said it could be cancer, claiming only the biopsy could confirm it. I was terrified. I canceled that biopsy and sought a second opinion from another periodontist in downtown Seattle. He immediately recognized that my gums were simply irritated from over-brushing, not diseased. There were no signs of cancer, no lesions, and no lichen planus. He prescribed a softer toothbrush, and within days, my gums began improving. He said my mouth looked great and very healthy! This office is completely unprofessional. A periodontist should be able to tell the difference between normal irritation and serious disease. Instead, I was scared, misled, and almost scheduled an unnecessary invasive procedure with a $785 price tag. Patients deserve honesty and competence — this office provides neither. Avoid this practice if you want an experienced, trustworthy periodontist.

I was only in town briefly for work and reached out on very short notice, yet they both went above and beyond to accommodate me. Positive experience: I drove several hours to see this office and had a great experience however I feel as though the gal who coordinates the treatment plan and sets appts wasn’t willing to make what I needed happen, she wasn’t listening to my situation nor was she very friendly she seemed almost irritated and it made for a very uncomfortable visit. Negative experience: If I could revie this place with 0 stars I would. I received services at this place. The doctors were great but after more than 1 year of the service I received. The lady Stephanie Palomera that works in the office revoked all of the discounts she has given me at the time of service just for the simple fact that I had just divorced her uncle, so she just plain and simple made me incur in over $3,000 in charges that are currently now in collection. Very UNPROFESSIONAL behavior to use your workplace to help your family members get back at a patient at this place. Shame on you!!!

Negative experience: Charged me several hundred dollars for an estimate. I ended up going to another dentist in Tukwila and saved at least $12,000. I do not recommend this over priced, and unscrupulous business. My wife used to go there until they ripped me off. Never again. Good luck, never again!!!

Negative experience: A few months ago, I was referred for gum recession. I appreciated the thoroughness of my exam and the time the team spent with me. At the end, he shared that I had significant recession in my entire mouth, I would need multiple rounds of gum grafts at an estimated cost of $30k (over a number of years). That is a huge investment, so I got a second opinion. The second opinion couldn’t have been more different. Yes, there is some recession, but lots of healthy gum tissue. Some areas would benefit from treatment, but it could be completed in a single appointment. $2k before insurance (with insurance, it would be $700). When I asked the periodontist about the discrepancy in diagnosis, he specifically asked if I’d been seen at Pacific Northwest Periodontics, because this office is known in the dental community for their overly aggressive approach. Direct quote: “I couldn’t in good conscience recommend that approach.”

Negative experience: I came in for a consultation because my wife has had them do work for her teeth using her insurance. I was charged $447 for a consultation even after waiting around about an extra hour due to them having IT issues. They gave me an estimate to extract a tooth and some prep for an implant. The cost came to approximately $4250 for just a part of the work. I was quite irritated getting such a large bill when all I asked for was an estimate. I gave a second star because the staff is nice, very deceptive on my opinion but nice none the less. I paid them $447 and that will be the last time they have me as a customer. I do not recommend these overpriced dentists. Such a shame to deceive a potential customer. If only they had said that it would cost $450 just to give me an idea of cost, I would have said no thank you and went somewhere else, now I simply dont trust them. I hope this helps someone. It is a couple years later now and i found West Valley Dental. The Dr. there negotiated with me and now I have 4 new implants for just $11,500 Including everything. It would have been over $25k if I had gone with these jokers.

Fantastic experience: I trust Dr. Rapoport. He has done two implants for me about 20 years ago and now I need a gum graft. Unfortunately, he is not able to do it because it’s too risky. Negative experience: Worst ever $200.00 cancelation no show fee is outrageous, I went to the appointment and told them I no longer wanted implants from them and to bill my insurance that I was told would be covered on my out of network coverage, they then tell me they don't even take my insurance, I told them I was not going to pay it and got up and left as I voiced my anger my 1st amendment right, and then 7 women attack me in the hallway for using the 1st amendment right to free speech and then threatened me and would not let the elevator door close so I could leave the staff act like animals 7-8 women attacking some one is shameful. the 1st amendment gives me and everyone else the right to speak how ever they chose its not against the law to cuss in anger. seems they don't like bad press either they blocked me on social media for calling them out on they'er behavior. Wish I could post the audio file that my phone captured of the attack.

He even closed the small edentulous space inside my mouth ( adding small tooth) without additional charge. He got my admiration in that part of treatment . His staff are helpful , credit care coordinator, Stephanie , is always willing to answer any question or concern about charges , she helps me in getting copies of my x rays and pictures or in short my record , assisting me in scheduling of my appt , assistants are also good . Negative experience: They wont tell you that you are out of network, charge you an insane amount for a consult, lie to you and tell you your insurance will fully reimburse you (when you are out of network) then make you pay out of pocket, again lying to you telling you your out of network insurance will fully reimburse you. Gouged hard for a few x-rays and a 10 min chat. You got me, very slick, don't let them get you too. I run a small business in the area, we don't predate upon customer like that, shame on you.

Negative experience: Didn’t know I would have to pay out of pocket day of service even though I have insurance. Would have been nice to know. I was told not to worry they will do the leg work to make sure I get reimbursed. I couldn’t have walked out faster and I called my dentist pissed about the referral.

Fantastic experience: My teeth have never Felt so clean. They do such a great job! Stephanie is a life saver and a real asset to the team. I called the office to let them know that I had transportation challenges. I spoke with Stephanie and she ordered an Uber for me. She went above and beyond to get me to my appt.

Positive experience: I wish I had known I would only be in for 15min for a few pictures and x-rays, I would have asked to do that when the doctor was there to save myself time off work. More communication regarding what will be done at each appointment would be great.

Negative experience: The dental surgery itself was fine for my husband. We were told to call before 2 weeks if the sutures were bothering him. We did, we called three times, reached someone twice and both times were told we would get a call back. We never did. When it came time for my husband's suture appointment he had Covid and had to cancel. Their next available appointment was 29 days away! Absolutely insane that they couldn't accommodate a short 10 minute appointment to remove the sutures that he had been contacting them to remove. Clearly this office does not care about their existing patients but rather scheduling new patients.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Dr. Darrin Rapoport at Pacific Northwest Periodontics. I had a sinus lift and then 9 months later dental implants. You would be in very capable hands with Dr. Rapoport. His office staff is very good. What has impressed me the most, besides the skill of Dr. Rapoport, is his communication and the time he takes with you as a patient. He does what he says he will do. If he tells you, "I will call you tomorrow" he will call you, not his staff. This is very rare in today’s environment where you hear directly from the doctor.
