Positive experience: Do not recommend. First dentist was extremely pushy. Second lasted maybe two months. There was no dentist for a few months and had to go to another practice to finish out my Invisalign. Now there seems to be issues with hygienists…too much turnover for my liking. The office is nice and clean. I really wanted to continue here as location is convenient but the other issues outweigh the convenience.

Fantastic experience: The staff are very friendly and personable. Dr Hashemi is patient and caring with her patients. The Dr, dental hymenitis and the ladies at the front desk make you feel very comfortable under anxious times, and are so personable. I have ordered my invisalign through Penfield Dental Care and they had such great pricing and honored an old quote I had from 2 years ago! I enjoy working with this office.

Fantastic experience: This was my first visit to Penfield Dental as a new patient. Having moved away from my longtime family dentist, I was very nervous to try a new office. The receptionist was so kind when I called to book the initial appointment, and she was all smiles when I finally came in person. The new patient exam is hands-down the most thorough dental exam I’ve ever experienced. Davis was my hygienist, and she is exceptional at what she does. Her passion for her work was palpable throughout the entire exam. Davis was extremely proficient with all of the technology used, and she explained every step she was taking. I felt very comfortable, and by the time I left, they had my full trust. Dr. Hashemi was very nice, and it seems like she’s fostered a fun and friendly environment for the hygienists. They were all kind to each other and willing to help each other out, which was really cool to see. I daresay, I am looking forward to my next cleaning in six months. Keep up the good work, guys!

Negative experience: Staff is very nice, dentist is not…he gave me inaccurate information (confirmed after second consult) and tried to charge me $2000 for unnecessary fillings.

Fantastic experience: Went there yesterday. New job, new insurance had to find a new dentist. Staff was very welcoming as soon as you walk in the door. The hygienist and Doctor were both great as well. Highly recommend this place!

Negative experience: I went for my six month cleaning this January and learned that my usual dentist had left and was replaced by Dr. Bartos. After Dr. Bartos examined my teeth, he informed me that I serious issues with my teeth and gums and required “gum therapy” (estimated given at $1750), and orthodontics. He stated that once this work was done, we would have to discuss the need for crowns. Today I just returned from an appointment with another dentist for a second opinion and was told that there was nothing wrong with my teeth. She felt there was absolutely no need for any work and instructed me to just come back for my routine six month cleaning. Please look at past reviews for this dentist and get a second opinion before committing to thousands of dollars of treatments.

Negative experience: DO NOT GO HERE. There should be a zero star option for this place. I came in for a cleaning, waited 1/2 hr after my appointment started to even be seen. Ladies behind the counter talked about their personal problems (so unprofessional). Took another hr for ex-rays to be completed. All and ill I was there over 2 hours for a cleaning. Called to get my x-rays sent to me and was given a hard time. Even the doctor told his own employees just email it to her. So unprofessional. I then took their X-rays to my old dentist and confirmed I did not need the multiple crowns this dentist said I did and did not have any cavities as this dentist said I had a mouth full of decay and at least 5 cavities. Disgusting….

Fantastic experience: Dr Jay made the most amazing diagnosis on a family member. She lost her hearing in 1 ear and was told it was permanent and likely would progress to the other side by 2 different ENT doctors who said there was nothing we could do and wanted to drill out her inner ear and put a cochlear implant into her brain. She saw Dr Jay for a routine cleaning, and while there he told her the hearing loss was all from her impacted wisdom tooth. Sure enough, her hearing is back once the tooth came out!!! Thank God she got that cleaning!! Highest recommendations to him!!!

Negative experience: Took over 2 hours for a cleaning and x-rays. Dentist states I need over $14,000 in dental work

Positive experience: It took an extra hour at the dentist office before I could go, hopefully the next time won't be as long.

Negative experience: Horrible practice with Horrible turn over since the original Dr. sold it in 2020. . I am no longer interested in this practice as I have had more than 6 Dentist work on my mouth, 3 crowns that will need to be remade in 2023 after been remake twice at your practice . I started in your practice in 2020 and I saw Dr. Cicconne, Dr. Rowland, a male Dr never said his name, Carmen the Spanish peaking dentist, Dr Fawatat and now Dr. Bartus. I believe that’s an un acceptable number of Dentist changes in just 2 year. Best luck to you and your practice.

Fantastic experience: I went in today to have 4 cavities filled. I did not feel a thing and the whole staff very friendly. I would recommend this dentist office over any of the 3 I’ve been to in the past and will continue to recommend it to my friends!!!

Negative experience: Front desk staff are warm and welcoming…no complaints! The hygienist made me experience very uncomfortable & would not respect my request of no x-rays. Continued to go back and forth with me and left me feeling unwelcome and bothersome being there. Doctor also seemed put off by my request & did not make me feel good about just wanting my teeth cleaned during this visit. Pretty bad customer experience. Will not return here.

Fantastic experience: This is my second visit. I had to get 3 teeth out and outwardly I seem calm but inside I'm terrified and scared and full of anxiety. The doctor and staff are so kind, and friendly, and create a relaxing environment, and are as gentle as they can be. I'm going to keep going back because I finally feel like I'm in good hands and no longer terrified of dentist's. They're that good.

Fantastic experience: Hey Guys, If you are searching for a dentist this is it! I had the BEST dental experience from them. When I visited for my broken filling, Dr. Jay was on it right away. They have short waiting time, friendly staff and Dr. Jay does not force any unnecessary treatment. They are not like one of those dentist who want to see how deep your pocket is. They are honest and clear with their treatments. Seriously, if you are in Rochester ,this is THE BEST dentist to go to.

Negative experience: Have had a problem with billing which I have waited to hear back from their office for almost one month. Called regarding overpayment. Was told by an office employee that she will have to put in an audit (?). Still waiting. Finally went through the chat feature on their web page today. Hoping that will facilitate the rather large refund due me. Otherwise, always professional and courteous. Plus, never leave me waiting for my appointment.

Admittedly, I had not kept up with regular dental visits to my old dentist, so I was a bit anxious going in as a new patient behind on my care-- they did a wonderful job keeping me at ease throughout the initial visit. Julie was fantastic at explaining every detail of my check-up/cleaning, and has my teeth looking/feeling the best they have in a while; Dr. Jay also level-set my dental health path going forward during his review. Overall, very happy not only with this appointment, but to have any potential anxiety about future dental visits already gone.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been searching for a new dentist for a while now. I called a few places and only 1 out of 6 had amazing and friendly customer service. Linda was so kind and pleasant over the phone. I miss good customer service these days, it’s almost non existent anymore. Not only was my first call a good experience, Dr. J made me feel completely at ease and pain free during my root canal. He kept checking in with me to make sure I was feeling okay and explained every detail of what he was doing and what I could expect. Dentists have always been a fear of mine and I could not have felt anymore comfortable with Dr. J!! I’m so happy to have a new dentist that I actually look forward to going to. Thank you PDC for a great experience!

Fantastic experience: Miraculous! I have never, ever been so relieved after a visit to a new dentist & his staff! (Much less an extraction…) I went in to hopefully have a broken tooth removed ! Ugh, I dreaded this but the discomfort pushed me. Dr Javed (Dr J. as he is fondly referred to), has the most professional demeanor and at the same time soothing bedside manner. I felt no pain. Amazingly I did not even know he had finished extracting those stubborn pieces of my jagged tooth he was so gentle and then it was over so quickly. Apparently Dr Ciccone had been guided to the perfect replacement in Dr Javed! Looking forward to Dr J and his wonderful staff helping to get my dental health back! Fantastic experience: My wife and I have been going to Penfield Dental Care for I think the last 10 or so years. We have been extremely happy with the quality of service and care provided to us over the years. The staff are amazing, incredibly helpful , personable, polite, helpful, informative and they have been so good to work with that we actually look forward to going to the dentist. Well There's a new staff in town at Penfield Dental Care , and I would have to say so far the transition from Dr. Ciccone and his staff to Dr.J and his staff has been seamless. In fairness we all get to Keep Linda who was there before the transition and I suspect has a lot to do with the staff being just as wonderful and friendly, and attentive, as always. I am not an employee of Penfield Dental Care and I cant speak from working experience however as a patient its been my perspective Linda has gone far above and beyond over the years making sure everyone is on the same page, the customers are satisfied and scheduled with visits as well as the staff. She is one of those people that has a uplifting effect on the office, and you can see it in her interactions both with patients and staff. The new staff are also wonderful, I'm a bit slow and they are really good about making sure I understand what the next steps are. So far the only complaint I have, I didn't find Penfield Dental care sooner :) I would have loved these guys/gals in my youth too. Thank you And to all the former staff, Dr. C as well. Thank you for the years TOP QUALITY service, and for always making our visits pleasurable . Lastly, My only allergy is mean people, and I've never had an issue with anyone at Penfield Dental care :)

Fantastic experience: I was referred to Penfield Dental Care when requesting an appointment due to a toothache. I was able to not only schedule an appointment this week, but I was able to get my immediate issue taken care of in office today. The front office staff are so personable & welcoming. CJ & Dr. Jay made me feel comfortable & both have a great sense of humor. I definitely recommend Penfield Dental Care for all of your dental needs! I am glad I found an amazing Dental office that my daughter & I can now become patients of.

Negative experience: They wait until 5 minutes before my appointment time to tell me my “free” consultation costs over $100. I’ve been to about 6 other dentists and got free Consultations including X-rays so why would I pay to come here?? I just wanted prices for bridges and dentures. Rude secretary too, lost my business and many others too I’m sure…

Negative experience: First time back since Dr. Bob retired and wow what a change. Every service is alla carte even with the best dental insurance excellus offers. I couldn't understand a word the dentist who cleaned my teeth said, she sprayed water all over me and kinked the suction tube so I was choking on my own spit. Extremely disappointed with all the changes and have been going there since I was a young kid.

Negative experience: No notification that Dr. Ciccone retired. Hygienist resigned. Left sitting in waiting room more than I have in 25 years. Had to remind dentist to perform two parts of treatment. This on top of incompetent practice management company Heartland (back office, not Linda at desk) Not coming back.

Excellent staff including Linda at the front desk to greet you, Melissa "my" hygienist who does a fantastic job and of course RR Ciccone who's cared for me with sedation dentistry since I became a patient. Highly recommend !!!

Negative experience: I had been going to that dental office for over 20 years. Seems things have changed there, and IMHO, not for the better. Be aware that Dr Ciccone has apparently retired. My recent visit (Jan 2021) made me feel like I was at the "wrong dentist." Dr.Carmen talked in terms of a temporary crown and multiple visits, which immediately made me wonder why they are apparently no longer doing same day crowns as they had done before for me when Dr Ciccone was there. Despite my futile efforts to develop some verbal rapport with the new-to-me hygienist and dentist, I left feeling like I had "just been processed" at a free clinic of some kind.

Negative experience: Will not return. My wife was charged over $3k for a single tooth partial. Now when she smiles instead of a missing tooth or space...there is a bright silver piece of hardware. Ridiculous that a dentist would do this. No it wasn’t her idea or intention to have this hideous outcome.
