Fantastic experience: This was my second visit to Bushwick Dental Group, and once again I had an excellent experience. The staff is friendly and welcoming, I was seen right on time, and the office is clean and professional. During this visit I had a cleaning and a filling with Dr. Rick Carreon, and I was very impressed with the quality of the care. He was gentle, thorough, and explained everything clearly. You can tell he takes pride in his work. After two great experiences, I highly recommend Bushwick Dental Group to anyone looking for excellent dental care.

Negative experience: Horrible establishment. Messed up my crown twice. Now I had to get a root canal elsewhere to fix the issue they caused with my crown. Waste of money, no payment plan, very unprofessional

Positive experience: Dr. Ricardo C…..is Awesome and Patient and Caring he takes good care of the Patients and Front Desk Staff are Amazing seems to never to disappoint they know their job and does it well and very Professional

Negative experience: Horrible customer service these guys Canceled my appointment by text the evening before and i took a day off f because i knew I would be getting and alot of work done..they excuse was oh don't accepted your insurance anymore mind you i was there suppose to pay for my bone graph out pocket so I am even more confused. Smfh Now everytime I call its problem to get some experienced on the phone. Its always hold brb and 30mins holding for no answers. its so annoying changing dentist these guys are ver inconsiderate.

Positive experience: So I went to Bushwick with a serious problem. Bad root canals and all my teeth had to be removed. They were very attentive during the whole process. When I got my final set of teeth I didn’t know how I felt about them but I was reassured and even offered a follow up appointment if I didn’t like them. Thank you Bushwick for my new smile.

Negative experience: Very unfriendly staff and rude comportment, multiple issues with insurance, processing, and communication, I chose this place because it was in the neighborhood but I am not coming back here and taking my business elsewhere.

Negative experience: This is the worst dentist ever. The workers are nasty and say disgusting comments. I wouldn’t recommend this dentist office to my worst enemy. Just disgusting attitude.

Negative experience: I’ve been on hold for 8 minutes , not sure if they don’t have a receptionist but it’s very inconvenient to have to call and wait for almost 10 minutes. Will change offices as this is poor customer service.

Fantastic experience: Dr Rick is a wonderful dentist- always so nice and does a great job of putting his patients at ease. The receptionists always go above and beyond to work with my schedule & insurance as well. Best dentist <3

Positive experience: Came in today for the first time for a 3pm appointment met with the dentist and his assistant! I already had 6 implants in my mouth and was only inquiring about regular dentures until I decide my next stop since I don’t trust another dentist at the moment to do any work on my implants! I found myself repeating my dilemma to the dentist he was talking about giving me a recommendation to NYU for dental implant dentures when I told him from the beginning my story and how I wasted $30k already so why would I want to pay to do this again? Anyway I had an x ray and was told they need to clear my insurance which will take two weeks or MORE before going any further. What I don’t understand is why they don’t already know what insurance they take if my insurance was accepted for the x ray I’m sure dentures are also accepted I’ll definitely follow up Edit : I returned for my second appointment just for dentures upper and lower on October 14th for a 4:30 appointment and was told by Dr. Ricardo Carreone he was unable to make my dentures because I had 6 implants in my mouth so people if your implant teeth break go elsewhere these people are a waste of time! He also told me he had no experience making dentures over implants and what he felt what was best for me was to contact NYU as if I never said I didn’t have the money to pay for implant dentures and only wanted simple dentures until I could afford them! If Dr Ricardo Carreone can’t make dentures why is he even in this field stay away!!

Fantastic experience: Amazing office and staff! Needed to get wisdom tooth consultation, as I was in a lot of pain! They were able to get me in quick and the process was calm, the dentist breaks down the process of the procedure if you’d like, and a half year later my teeth feel great. Definitely stop by and check this dentist office out!

Negative experience: They have the worst wait time, they tell you to come in on time but don’t call you in until an hr after. Once you’re on the chair, they make you wait longer. I had my wisdom teeth surgery pulled out by the surgeon months ago, he was so rough, I ended up having cuts around my mouth. My insurance approved to take out 4 of my wisdom teeth but they only took 2 out and said that I have to pay for the other 2. Only kept coming back because I grew up around the neighborhood.

Fantastic experience: I’d like to start by saying I swapped dentist services to this place from another I do not it regret at all. I’ve always been scared of dentists but everytime I have arrived here for services it is done amazingly, and carefully the receptionists are also wonderful. Dr Rick and Sandy have taken care of me multiple times and not once or at all do I have anything bad to say, they are beautiful teamwork! I would recommend here and hope to keep this place going.

Fantastic experience: Today, I had a cleaning with Juan. He was amazing and very gentle and made me feel comfortable. I truly dislike dental appointments. Dr. Guzman was also incredible in explaining the issues with my gums and teeth. I feel more comfortable now about returning for my follow-up appointment because, in the past, I was so traumatized that I wouldn’t go back. Thank you to the amazing doctors! And let me not forget—the receptionist also provided excellent customer service.

Negative experience: DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTAL OFFICE — THEY ARE SCAMMERS. My wife and I initially chose this place as our dental office because it was in CIGNA’s network. I’ve been going there for three years, and although I’ve had ongoing issues with the irresponsibility of the front desk staff, the doctor and hygienist always provided good service. However, today I am extremely disappointed. I just found out through my insurance that two years ago, they decided to switch my doctor to one who is out-of-network — and they never once asked for my consent. This change affected my coverage and forced me to pay out of pocket. I want to highlight that every time I paid out of pocket, I asked the front desk why, and they always replied that “the insurance just wasn’t covering the rest” and that “it was normal.” They never explained that it was because they had assigned me to an out-of-network doctor without my knowledge. To make matters worse, my insurance informed me they’ve been paying double the normal rate because the new doctor is out-of-network. Again, I never authorized this. Had I known they were changing my doctor to someone outside the network, I would have immediately switched to another dental office. They are irresponsible, opportunistic, and dishonest. Stay away!

Negative experience: Customer service is a disaster. How is it possible that they called me to tell me my insurance had approved a procedure I had been waiting for, we scheduled the appointment, and yet, days before the appointment, I called to confirm how much my out-of-pocket cost would be and they gave me the information. Then, on the day of the appointment, I called again to confirm—and I CANNOT believe that once I got there, the receptionist asked me the reason for my visit and told me that they had confused me with another patient this whole time. It’s completely disrespectful. Who is in charge of the organization at that place if they’re capable of mixing up two patients—and on top of that, they didn’t even offer an apology! I wasted two hours of my day going there for nothing, and they didn’t even care or show any concern about fixing the situation.

Fantastic experience: These folks are kind and work hard!! I was able to get an appointment next day and am honestly looking forward to going back in (for an EXTENSIVE amount of work I need, gulp.)

Negative experience: Dentist is good however customer service is horrible. The doctor has been out for a week and having a secretary/ assistant present in the office she could not have the curtesy of calling patients to let them know the doctor is out. I received texts messages the entire week confirming my appointment and as a secretary/assistant you should be able to see the agenda and let patients know appointments are canceled especially when you see its 2 appointments for twin toddlers.

Fantastic experience: I have to admit - I’m not a fan of visiting the dentist BUT Dr. Carreon and his assistants/hygienists are amazing and they make you feel comfortable, whichever procedure you may need. Sandy, Khlood, Susse, and Juan they are awesome and they went an extra mile to ensure I was okay during my root canal yesterday. I never felt more at ease before and this was by far a better experience compared to other clinics I’ve been to. Thank you guys for looking out for me and I’ll be back for the follow-up!

Fantastic experience: I visited Bushwick Dental for a cleaning and advice on what to do with a particular tooth. From start to finish, the visit was peppered with nice experiences! First, Kimberly and Nina greeted me at the front desk with some bright and infectious energy. Nina and I chatted about the happiness we felt about the rain and that the drought in NY was finally over! She gave me a well-highlighted intake form to complete as it was my first visit to this clinic. After completing the form, there was a brief wait for me to see the technician that would take my x-rays. Kalood moved through them quickly and very efficiently! She was so kind and also quite gentle with placing the bite apparatus. Then she brought me to the panorama X-ray room. Dr. Carreon, DDS was in there and jokingly got out of the way for us. That process was also swift and well guided by Kalood. Next, I moved to a room to meet the dental hygienist, Juan, for teeth cleaning. He was friendly and check to ensure I didn’t have any pain before proceeding with the cleaning. After the cleaning, I told Juan in person as well, but my dental cleaning was the most efficient and gentle cleaning I have ever had! I was shocked and my teeth felt so good afterwards! Finally, Dr. Carreon came in, checked my teeth, and discussed my situation with me. He allowed me to express my concern and was very explanatory and informative while also lightening the situation with some well-placed humour. I even got some good advice and information about how I’d be a good Invisalign candidate (boo adult wisdom teeth for crowding my naturally nearly straight teeth!), which I didn’t imagine before. I left the office really informed and ready to make some decisions about bettering my dental health! Based on how friendly and nice all the experiences were, I’d totally recommend visiting this clinic. Even the most dental-phobic patient would have a great experience at Bushwick Dental Group!

Negative experience: I’m done coming here after today . Whoever your receptionist was on 10/19/2024 doesn’t know how to handle pressure . As a receptionist you can easily answer the phone and put me on hold but I had to call 14 times to speak to her . ON TOP to make matters worse no apology just simply complained about having 10 patients waiting to be attended. I’ve been a patient for years and should get the same treatment whether I’m in the office or in the clinic . All I needed was my Xrays which I was told will get sent by the “ end of the day” . Save your time coming here honestly .

Negative experience: This place is unwelcoming and unprofessional. the receptionist has awful coustmer service, makes you feel like you are a bother when asking anything. I had an appointment scheduled for 12:30 I showed up at 12:20 and didn’t get taken to the back until 1:45!! The cleaning I had was incredibly rough, and felt rushed. The place itself is as hot as a sauna, and the dental treatment room was dirty, there was a puddle of water on the floor and visible pieces of trash. Won’t be coming back here.

Negative experience: Update: Ever since they changed the front desk it has been a horrible experience. They just don’t know what are they doing. They keep you forever on hold, you schedule an appointment and the day you go you’re not on the schedule, they fit you in but, since they’re crowded you have to wait a long time to be seen. Before was pleasant now it’s a nightmare!!!!! Don’t waste your time going there! I’m gonna take my time and explain how grateful I am with this dental office. To start an amazing blue hair girl welcomes you and has the ability to answer questions almost like a dentist (very knowledgeable) then another Hispanic girl takes your X-rays very decent girl with a smile and kindness, walks you to the room when you think you’ll have a nightmare, but no! Doctor Carrion and the assistant,which is a guy too, they take care of you so peacefully, every step of the procedures where clearly explained to me, so then the blue hair girl came into the room and gave me so many options to pay ( I don’t have insurance) she was very explanatory. This is a dental office for the people! You feel warm and welcome every step of the way! Update!!! They keep being the best dental office ever!!!!

Negative experience: Horrible customer service. I called on 9/26 to inform the office a change in my insurance like they had asked me to do the last time I visited. I was on hold for 8-10 minutes which I would had not minded if the receptionist who had answered told me to call back again today, 9/27 from 9am-1pm. For unknown reasons, she could not assist me. I called today and no one is answering the phone. I checked their website to see if they are closed on Fridays and it says they’re open. I’ve called seven times and no one is answering. I tried sending an email to the one they have listed on their website, and turns out it is invalid. Please update your days, hours and email on your website. It shouldn’t be this difficult to get in contact with an office.

Positive experience: Second edit: upping my review to 4 stars instead of 3. After talking with them, service has gotten a bit better. They also recent started (finally!) using an appointment management software with text message confirmations. 1000x better than the old “system” of calling and not even leaving a message when you don’t answer. Editing to add: they consistently overbook every appointment. I have never waited less than an hour here. Last week I waited 90 minutes for a 5 minute appointment where they just handed me my Invisalign trays. Once in the chair they are competent but the wait times are out of control. I really want to like this place. It is conveniently located, and the dentist himself is very good. However, consistently over the last several years trying to go to this place I have struggled with bad/lack of communication from the front desk staff. They don’t call with appointment reminders/confirmations. Once, they even changed my husband’s appointment time without asking or notifying him when he needed to have a crown put in. He couldn’t make the new time, and it took another month to get a new appointment. Just this week, I have been waiting to get a new night guard made. When I called after waiting for 3 weeks to ask when it would be in. The woman on the phone got defensive, saying that she had already called me. But she didn’t leave a voicemail and finally admitted that after pressing her. If you don’t leave a message, and I just see a missed call from an unknown number, it’s essentially the same as not calling…all of this could be fixed with automated software instead of relying on overworked staff who clearly aren’t exactly detail oriented. I hate to find a new dentist, but I’m so frustrated that I may have to look elsewhere.

Negative experience: I am extremely frustrated with the customer service at this office. I’ve been placed on hold for long periods and hung up on multiple times. I've been waiting over a month for an appointment for a painful tooth. Today, when I tried to speak with a supervisor, I was put on hold for six minutes, and when I called back, I was sent to voicemail seven times before finally reaching someone who said the supervisor wasn’t available. This has been a very unprofessional experience, and I didn’t have these issues until new staff members were hired. I will definitely be looking for another provider, and I recommend others consider doing the same.

Negative experience: Absolutely stupid place. I confirmed my son'a insurance with them. Got there today only to be told they do not accept his insurance. There were 2 ladies at the front desk and no one else in the waiting room but they never acknowledged us when we walked in. Very horrible, uncaring people

Fantastic experience: My daughter had an abscessed tooth and I came here for an emergency. Turns out it had to be taken out immediately and Dr. Grenfell along with the amazing staff made the extraction a smooth process. I couldn't have picked a better place than this one. She is a very experienced and wonderful dentist especially for small children.

Negative experience: Bullies clients into expensive unnecessary procedures. Had to come in during work because it was the only available time. I was barely acknowledged at the desk and took 35 minutes to be seen. What is the point of having appointments? Came in for a permanent retainer removal and was told they would only do it if I would buy a $950 retainer off of them. Opted to have my current retainer repaired for $150 but will not be returning.

Fantastic experience: It had been a number of years since I was last at a dentist office due to my substantial fear and dislike BUT Rick and his team made me feel comfortable, reassured, and taken care of through my numerous reoccurring appointments! Rick is humorous and kind and that goes a long way during scary times. 10/10 would recommend!

Negative experience: I went to have a fixed dental bridge with Dr. Carreon and it only lasted a month and a week, it started to have a bad smell and the bridge was not well covered to the teeth that were supporting it. The only solution to my problem was just a mouthwash that didn't help me at all.

Fantastic experience: My dentist Juan is terrific! He (and the staff) worked to make sure I got to a solid dental baseline. They’re so good at navigating insurance companies and are transparent about their services. I recommend early appointments for shorter wait time, but since wait times are near unavoidable no matter the location - Bushwick Dental is a great choice!

Negative experience: If I could select zero stars I would. I scheduled an initial appointment with this place and gave them my insurance information over the phone. I was told my insurance was accepted. My appointment was cancelled 3 times. Each appointment extremely far apart 2-3 weeks out. I arrive to the fourth appointment only to be told my insurance is not accepted. It’s been 3 months with them only to be let down in the end. Now I’m scheduled to leave New York for a while and my dental is unaddressed. I’m extremely pissed off and now I have to go through the lengthy process of getting a new dentis and appointment. Was given a simple emotionless “sorry” then out the door. Unprofessional service and lack of training. You don’t leave a person waiting 3 months for NOTHING. TRASH ESTABLISHMENT.

Negative experience: Good vibes all around ! Updated review 6/1/2024 : after the original dentist moved 2 Florida, the service has completely fallen off of a cliff.

Fantastic experience: Amazing place. I've always had issues with pain and breathing at previous Dentists but that's not an issue here at all. My Dentist is Dr.Carreon and I would absolutely recommend him. The front desk workers were also really nice.

Fantastic experience: Bushwick Dental is wonderful. Everyone here is kind, and caring. I have multiple dental issues and the amazing people here worked with me on what I need to do, plans to pay for it, and how we can fix the biggest problems fist. I love Dr. Rick- I ask a lot of questions while Im getting work done and he will always pause and explain whats going on to me, then without missing a beat will always follow up with a joke. I am impressed with the amount of people the see, and the problems they have to deal with how they always handle themselves in such professional manners. 12/10

Negative experience: The visit was very rushed, the assistant took two x-rays until she noticed I didn’t have the lead apron on!! My “cleaning” lasted 4 min and done by a man who did not disclose his position as a hygienist!! The doctor was in and out. I was told my wisdom teeth had to be extracted and not up for discussion. FINALLY, the office was not clean at all!!!!!!!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely AMAZING!!! Everyone was pleasant, accommodated my 8yr old son and took great care of him. I will be coming back with the rest of my family. THANK YOU

Negative experience: I’ve been a patient of theirs for over 3 years. And I was not able to get an appointment until this week(over 1 year wait) . When I came for my appointment the front desk told me that they no longer took my insurance. When I asked her why I wasn’t informed she let me know that it wasn’t her job. Another person had done it. The part that is irritating is that she said they didn’t take my insurance as of 2 weeks prior, but I received a call to confirm my appointment. I then asked her to let me know the name of the manager of the office and she said she only knew his first name,which was George and that he only came once a week. When I asked her when would he come she said she doesn’t know. She was very dismissive and not apologetic at all. As if it was my fault their team can’t communicate with patients. Horrible experience

Negative experience: The dentists and hygienists are great but the admin staff here are horrible. They never submitted or followed up with the insurance claim concerning my dental work or my toddler. I rather take our business elsewhere...
