Negative experience: The tech was clearly inexperienced taking XRays. The Doc was BRUTAL with my teeth that are generally fine and have no cavities. It had only been a year since my last cleaning and I have never had my gums so bruised. She told me to floss more which, is fair. But two things can be true, she was not careful or gentle and I came away with bruising.

Positive experience: Quick and easy~ very kind staff! They even took me earlier than my expected time which was amazing!

Fantastic experience: Haven’t been to the dentist in a few years and finally motivated to make an appointment, was in and out in 40 minutes, taken immediately, had a smooth cleaning and took new x-rays, overall was very satisfied with this appointment and will be back in 6 months to get back on a regular cleaning schedule!

Negative experience: I had a very disappointing and frustrating experience with iSmile Dental and would not recommend them to other federal employees with Blue Cross Blue Shield FEP High Option insurance. I have the BCBS Federal Employee Plan High Option, which clearly states that in‑network Class B (intermediate) services like fillings should be billed so that I pay 30% of the cost, not 50%. iSmile Dental told me they were in‑network when I scheduled and when I was in the office, but when I questioned the bill afterward, they suddenly claimed they were actually out‑of‑network. This is completely inconsistent and feels deceptive. For my fillings, the total fee was 1,358, and I was charged 695.60 as my portion, which is essentially 50% of the cost instead of the 30% I should owe under my plan for in‑network Class B services. I only realized this after I had already paid and reviewed my insurance information more closely at home. The treatment sheet clearly shows the subtotal for the fillings as 1,358, with 662.40 listed under “Pri Ins” and 695.60 under “Pat,” confirming that they had me paying about half of the procedure cost. Between misrepresenting their network status and charging the wrong percentage for covered services, I feel that iSmile Dental mishandled both the insurance and the billing. I will not be returning and strongly advise other BCBS FEP High Option members to double‑check any estimates or charges before agreeing to treatment at this office.

Negative experience: Beware - they ask all visitors to explicitly rate them 5 stars. They quoted me $5,000 (after insurance) out of pocket dental work last year, right before a big international trip. I declined because it felt disproportionate to the minor pain I was having and I didn’t want to risk it right before traveling. The staff was very pushy about it which led to me being very skeptical. The pain went away and I went to a different dentist right down the street who said I didn’t need any immediate work done.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been here twice with two different dentists and different hygienists and everyone has always been great! Everyone is super friendly, the equipment seems very new and they don’t push things on you that you don’t actually need. I went to a different place and they told me I had 5 cavities (I’ve had 2 in my life) and I came here for a second opinion and they did X-rays and a check and I don’t have any. They are also always very prompt and on time to my appointments.

Fantastic experience: My visit to iSMILE dental @99 Nassau Ave in Bklyn, was absolutely the most amazing experience that I have ever had at a dental office! I had been experiencing horrific pain from a broken tooth and every dental office that I called, claimed to not have openings until February and March of 2026! These calls went on for weeks. It was very disheartening, until my son told me about ISMILE! We have different health insurance and he actually didn't know that I was having such a hard time. I called and was able to come in the NEXT DAY! DR. HABIB and his staff are the BEST! From the warmest welcome by MARTHA at the reception desk, who greeted me with open arms and a kind smile, to ALBERT with the patience of a saint, while I took too long to fill out my paperwork because of being so nervous and full of questions! He was so patient and kind. The waiting area was very clean and comfortable. You could also make tea while you wait. DR.HABIB was very thorough in his explaination of what he was going to do and what I was going to experience...and he did not disappoint! He answered every single one of my questions and never did I feel dismissed or uncared for! I was very nervous and a little ashamed to say that at my grown age, I was trembling and even cried a little. His assistant, STEPHANIE held my hand through the process and gave me resssurance with her soft spoken tone. DR.HABIB told me that I would feel no pain and I didn't believe him. FINALLY! A DENTIST WHO DIDN'T LIE! I didn't feel a thing and my extraction was complete in less than 10 minutes! After the numbing wore off, I wasn't in any pain and I've only taken ibuprofen to keep the inflammation down..not because of pain! I slept through the night pain free and also went the next day without having to take meds. I was able to eat and chew comfortably and experienced no pain for the rest of the day! I'm grateful to be back to normal with a million reasons to smile again! THANK YOU DR.HABIB AND YOUR WONDERFUL TEAM AT ISMILE!! 10 OUT OF 10! WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!! Positive experience: I came here for a first time filling for my top left molar in July with Dr. Nath via Zocdoc. The staff and doctor were kind, however after reflecting on my experience compared to other dentists I had to go to after, there were some things that didn’t feel right with regard to 1) insurance and 2) the dental procedure. 1) The insurance situation was confusing because on Zocdoc they said they were in network and would accept my insurance, but once I arrived and sat in the dental chair, the staff explained they were out of network and I would be able to get a reimbursement from my insurance. That wasn’t correct and I ended up getting charged out of pocket for a majority of the bill. The face value of the bill was also 3x the amount of what it costs to get the same filling elsewhere. 2) Dr Nath was kind and I did appreciate their help, however during the procedure they did not explain what they were doing at all. From what I could gather— they drilled my tooth, then fit a metal molar band on me to do the filling. At some point after they completed the filling, they did a floss check and my bite felt bad. After some silence and thinking, it appeared they decided that they had to redo it. They set me up for a redo and re-drilled, re-fit the molar band, and re-filled the filling. All of this was done without telling me what they were doing. After completing for the second time, my bite still did not feel comfortable. They did some minor adjustments and then dismissed my concerns saying that it would take some time to get used to the new filling. This filling fell out after a 1-2 weeks. I decided to go to a different dentist to get it redone and had a much better and less painful experience with a higher quality filling that still holds up. In September I began feeling cold sensitivity on that tooth and pain while chewing on that side. I am now looking at a possible crown or root canal. I have great teeth and have only had one cavity in my entire life. My new dentists and Endodontist believe the stress of having so many fillings done on the same tooth in a short period of time is contributing to the sensitivity. I would not recommend this dentist or office for any dental work. They seem to be a nice office for a routine cleaning but I will not be returning for that either.

Fantastic experience: My go to dentist in greenpoint/williamsburg. Never had a bad experience - cavity filling was super smooth, quick and painless. Cleanings are always easy, saying a lot for someone who typically hates them. Affordable and best part is I leave informed on how to take better care of my teeth. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: I went to iSmile as a new patient to have an existing filling redone. [Background: I’m a patient at Wally and they don’t redo fillings]. Dr. Diba redid my filling and said that all went well, however that my filling in the next tooth would also need to be redone imminently. As I was already numbed, we agreed she could do it then. I have had plenty of fillings before, but I have never had my head jerked around, sharp pain, and so much uncertaintly during an appointment. It ended with her letting me know that she drilled so much tooth that I would probably need a root canal. The office manager texted me the next day with several apologies, probably because the staff had noticed what a disaster it was. This was a dentist they were “trying out.” I wish I’d been informed as much, and that a regular dentist had also been present. I haven’t chewed with the left side of my mouth since, and rely on ibuprofen and tylenol for the pain. iSmile ignored my last scheduling text, and while was told that the owner was going to call me, but never did. They were paid well from both me and my insurance, the dentist was paid, and yet I have to undergo a root canal elsewhere. Obviously I’ve booked in with my previous dentist that is trustworthy.

Negative experience: This dentist is an absolute scam of an office. I wasn’t going to leave a review after my horrible experience in January but now they have really tried to scam me. I had an appointment ONCE in Jan 2025 and now it’s September 2025. They have sent me a sketchy email demanding a balance be paid and then another sketchy text demanding a balance of a different total be paid. I owe nothing as I paid everything out of pocket after they deceived me into thinking they took my insurance. Now they are trying to charge me two different amounts. When I called the office they couldn’t even tell me what exactly they were charging me for or for which appointment. DO NOT GO HERE THEY WILL TRY TO SCAM AND DECEIVE MONEY FROM YOU When I initially went They deceptively danced around explaining pricing to me as an out of network provider. They were purposefully vague about how much my insurance would reimburse me. This one time I walked in to make an appointment and said hello and the woman at the desk literally just stared at me blankly. They give the energy that they don’t really care but just want your business. Every interaction I have had with the front desk makes me feel uncared for and offended.

I arrive at my appointment and they tell me they don’t take my insurance. They wasted my time — especially when I structured my day / travel around this appointment.

Wait was a little long, but they were busy so I'm not complaining. I really liked their bedside manner and that they didn't pressure me on treatment especially since I already had a primary dentist. Might end up switching to this place due to availability.

Positive experience: I had my first visit today at iSmile. I was looking for a dentist in the neighborhood and I think I found my spot. Good service, responsive and thorough. I plan to be back in 6 months. The only caveat here is the wait time. I was quite displeased at the wait time. My appointment was for 3pm, and I wasn't seen until 3:45pm. Frankly, that's a bit much. 10-15 minutes is one thing, but 45 is just a lot. I hope that my experience was an anomaly. If that happens next time I'd hope that they can discount the service or give me a heads up next time.

I was expecting this to be the most painful experience ever and it turned out to be the best cleaning I've ever experienced. Negative experience: While the staff at iSmile Dental are friendly and welcoming, my overall experience was unfortunately disappointing due to poor scheduling practices. I initially booked an appointment through ZocDoc, which was rescheduled twice without much notice or explanation. (I think they overbooked.) When I finally arrived for my rescheduled visit, I experienced an unexpected 30-minute wait after completing my X-rays before I could be seen by the dentist. It’s clear the team is kind and well-intentioned, but the lack of efficiency and communication around scheduling made the process frustrating. I hope they’re able to improve their appointment management, as this could make a big difference for patient experience. EDIT: Someone called me and asked to remove the review because it’s “inaccurate”. In addition, if you leave negative reviews they’ll try to report you. Just deceptive business practices all around. They’ll also make up fake reviews.

Negative experience: Was under the impression my insurance was taken here but upon arrival I found out it was not. Dentist was trying to push things I knew did not need. When I declined an unnecessary extraction, the doctor tried to tell me I had cavities, even though nothing showed up on the X-rays and I had no sensitivity or pain. After poking me several times with the pick she told me I needed to buy an electric toothbrush and water pick because I was bleeding too much. After all the years of going to the dentist, this has to be a joke. I’ve never had an experience like this. I don’t appreciate being told I need some type of work done when I know for a fact I don’t need it. Definitely won’t be going back.
