Negative experience: 1 star is to many. First appointment went fine. Got xrays and a cleaning. 2nd appointment was for a cleaning which is covered by insurance. Receptionist called me up to tell me what I'd be charged today. I explained that cleanings are covered by insurance. She informed me that would be the cleaning in 6 weeks. I told here all I want is what insurance is paying for. She asked if I wanted to speak to the hygienist. I said no, I don't need it explained I'm here for a cleaning. Bottom line it was like going to car repair shop and them upselling me. No thank you. Your Fired!!!

Fantastic experience: My experience at Canon Crossroads was amazing. From the time I walked in to the moment I left out there was nothing but pure professionalism, concern for my needs, and top-tier skill from the front desk to the tech onto the hygienist and the doctor. I am so impressed with this dental office. In addition, it is beautiful and well maintained. Also, I had just come from lunch so I was concerned about how disgusting my mouth would look when they started. I happen to go to the restroom while I was waiting and there was a Listerine pump with little cups and I thought to myself, it is all about the details. I want to share this business with everyone that I know and don’t know.

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to Cannon Dental for a few years now and they really erase any fear I had about coming to the dentist. Over the last few months I’ve been here often to get some dental work and it has been seamless. Dr. Boyd is gental, efficient and knowledgeable! April and Sol has been a great dental assistant during my visits and I think at this point I’ve recommended Cannon Dental to my whole family. Fantastic experience: I’ve had the best experience at this dental practice, starting at check in with Tyra she’s been extremely helpful, she’s gone above & beyond on several occasions to make sure that I’m smiling when I leave. There’s also April, a DA that’s great with the patients, her bedside manner is impeccable. Many people are afraid of dental, so if that’s you and you want a practice that explains everything and will hold your hand if that’s what you require then this practice is perfect for you..

Negative experience: I was a patient of Dr. Simmons Boyd for over 10 years when I was a child growing up in Charlotte. I recently moved back to the area after 20 years living elsewhere and attempted to re-establish Dr. Simmons Boyd as my dentist. However, and unfortunately, my attempts to actually get into the chair have failed. Initially, I scheduled an appointment over a month in advance for 8:00 am, the only time that works with my work schedule. My appointment was "mysteriously" changed from 8:00 am to 9:00 am, and then to 10:00 am. I will admit that I have a habit of confirming appointments via text message without reading them because I get so many, but I haven't experienced an appointment being changed without someone at the office calling me to verify my availability in addition to sending multiple, repeated text messages. Once I realized my appointment time had actually been changed, I sent replies and attempted to call their office to determine WHY it was changed and get it changed BACK to the original confirmed time that I scheduled. I was unable to get anyone on the phone, and after several calls, I left a voicemail. No one called me back. I continued calling and finally got someone on the phone on Thursday afternoon (the appointment was on Friday). The associate refused to assist me or let me know why my appointment was changed, causing me to be inconvenienced. She didn't seem to care at all, because she continued to repeat herself and refuse to answer my questions as to why my appointment was moved. She informed me that the next available appointment was over a month later in January. Unacceptable. I do not appreciate the lack of customer service, and at the time, I located another dentist and fully intended to establish care at their practice instead because I will not accept being treated like that. But the practice was only focused on upselling and charging additional fees for everything (like why wasn't flouride treatment included in the copay I paid for the visit?). Anyway, and despite that experience, I gave Cannon Crossroads another opportunity when I was experiencing a dental emergency. This appointment was cancelled too, once again due to an emergency, and I had to demand to be seen by the other dentist in the practice just to be seen because they (scheduler) decided to completely cancel my appointment. I was seen and that same day, scheduled a new patient appointment. They seemed to be understanding this time, but I was wrong. After this emergency visit, I scheduled a new patient appointment to attempt to properly establish dental care. After taking time off of work and driving 20 minutes to the dental practice (with gas being nearly $4 per gallon right now, this can be a significant expense, and should not be wasted), I walked in at 10:15 am, only to be informed that my 10:30 am appointment was cancelled due to an emergency (for the third time overall). I was told they were "just about to call me." Once again, unacceptable. I get the feeling that the dentist doesn't want to see me, which is unfortunate given how much I valued her care when I was younger and my entire family went to her. But I've learned my lesson, and don't accept poor customer service. The third time is the charm, and I will not make any further attempts to be seen here. Truly, truly unfortunate, disappointing, hurtful, and EXTREMELY unprofessional.

Fantastic experience: As someone who has struggled with dental anxiety for years it has been a challenge to find the right fit for a dental office. I’ve been lucky enough to find that fit here !! From the wonderful front desk staff !! Deanna is super sweet & always makes me feel welcomed immediately upon entering ! For my cleanings Megan was wonderful regardless of the anxiety I was experiencing & she never made me feel bad. Sol made the filling experience so much better, she’s extremely kind, patient, and genuinely cares. She even remembered what I preferred to have on the tv to help calm me from my previous appointment. This made me feel so seen and cared for!!

Negative experience: Extremely disappointed with the lack of transparency here. They lure you in with a $99 new patient special, but then charge massive "hidden fees" without prior notice. I ended up paying an extra $176 for X-rays that I was never told would cost more. Feels like a bait-and-switch tactic. I won’t be returning and wouldn't recommend them if you value honest pricing.

I would grab the extra 25 minutes to go there to see the doctor I seen because she is a guardian angel. She is just perfect the best dentist I've ever been to I would recommend her to anyone. And when I get my vision back from seeing double vision after surgery, on February the sixth 2026 was I get my eyes corrected. I'll be going there because I used to see. Doctor sobo, in Kannapolis, North Carolina.. But as soon as I get my eyes corrected, I'll most definitely be going to her as long as I can drive. She is the best dentist. Fantastic experience: I have dental anxiety and it took me YEARS to find a dentist I could be comfortable with. I finally did in VA. Then we relocated here 2 years ago. I was so afraid to change that I continued to drive 4 hours to VA just to go for an appointment. That was not sustainable! My husband and I took a chance and had our first visits yesterday. I literally left my appointment smiling! Meagan and Dr. Boyd are wonderful!! Meagan consistently checked in with me to make sure my nerves were calm, talked me through every step and just showed me so much compassion. I have found a new dental home!! Fantastic experience: I have heavy dental anxiety and knew that I needed to finally get my fillings done as well as taking better care of myself. I had been before for emergency appointments but finally decided it was time to handle all my problems. Dr. Boyd took time to listen to my teary eyed story, reassuring me and being so caring towards something that is such a sensitive subject for me. From there staff had been so sweet and each assistant who works with has taken note of my anxiety! They know me by name and treat me like family. Sol is such a perfect person to be around when anxious, she showers you in love from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave and it washes it all away. I genuinely feel so much less anxiety around coming to the dentist since going here! Sometimes the anxiety does win, either before, during, or after appointments but I know I am in great hands regardless!!

They fixed my crown and Julie took the time to sit down with me for treatment plan and next steps for cleaning with hygentist. Negative experience: I went in for a cleaning and the technician was as sweet as can be but when the dentist came in she got distracted and never polished my teeth. I even said “I can’t taste any mint” and it didn’t have that “grainy” stuff. So I know my teeth weren’t polished. She said the mint was “mild” flavor but c’mon, I’ve had my teeth cleaned before. I was waiting for her to do that spinning thing with the mint and it never happened. Adding more issues. The office staff is rude on the phone and the office overall is uncooperative with my dental care. After recommending Invisalign, they won’t write me a letter to another aligner company that I’ve had issues with in order to stop treatment and get a refund from that company. They have no communication and insist they communicated with me. I will not be paying the $32 you’ve been billing me for. You’re offended I left a bad review because my teeth weren’t polished. Instead of responsibility and accountability I get BS. You deserve the one star! It STANDS. You are ridiculous!

Negative experience: Called ahead to ask if they accepted my insurance, they took my information down said they would call back. They called back to tell me they verified that they do accept my insurance, so I set the appointment. I took time off work. When I arrive, the person behind the counter asks me some questions about my insurance, I let her know I was told they accept my insurance I played the voicemail for her. She asks me to fill out a detail form, while she calls my insurance. After about 10min or so, she informs me their office doesn't accept my insurance. If it wasn't the sincerity, care and thoughtful effort of the woman at the front desk during my visit I would've given 1 star. It was a complete waste of time, despite me calling ahead to verify.

Fantastic experience: It was my first appointment at Cannon Crossroads Dental Care to see Dr Sharma. It was a very good day. June 27, 2024 Today I saw Dr Boyd, she and her staff puts you at ease. I have never been so comfortable at the dentist before, ever. The staff, Megan Foster (hygienist ), Estella (dental asst.) and the secretaries are all pleasant ladies. I am so lucky to have been introduced to Cannon Crossroads and to Dr Boyd.

Fantastic experience: Jasmine was so kind and made me feel comfortable during my visit. She’s professional, gentle, and really easy to talk to.

Negative experience: I felt like I was at a car lot. They try to upsell for everything. My previous dentist told me I just needed a regular cleaning but was booked so far out I decided to give Cannon Crossroads a try. Without even seeing me, just based off my X-rays I was told that I would need FOUR separate cleanings with anesthesia and antibiotics. Needles to say, I cancelled.

Negative experience: I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with Cannon Crossroads Dental Care. Almost two years ago, I was promised a refund of over $1,400 for services that were never rendered. Instead of receiving my refund, I continue to receive bills regarding this amount, which has now gone to collections. I have spoken to several staff members who assured me that this issue would be resolved, but nothing has happened. Despite my repeated attempts to address these billing discrepancies, I have not received any follow-up or resolution. The lack of communication and accountability in handling my case has left me frustrated and disappointed. I expected a much higher level of customer service, and I sincerely hope the management takes steps to improve their processes to prevent similar experiences for other patients in the future. I would greatly appreciate a written response confirming the actions being taken to address my concerns. Given that prior verbal assurances have not led to a resolution, I believe that having a written follow-up will help ensure accountability and clarity moving forward.

Fantastic experience: I am a new patient and my visit today was excellent. Wonderful and friendly staff and a very informative assessment of my needs. The front desk ladies were so nice and lovely. Fantastic experience: My experience was amazing! The young lady up front was very kind and informative. I believe her name was Tara.. she explained everything Dr.Simmons Boyd recommended to get me back on track with my smile and was patient with all my questions. Everyone was so kind and you could feel how much they genuinely care about their patients. I will be telling my friends and family all about Dr.Simmons Boyd and her outstanding team.
