Negative experience: The worst dentist office ever. They offer services that aren’t necessary.

Fantastic experience: New patient here.Very pleasant experience. Every staff member I encountered was very warm and attentive.

Fantastic experience: I have struggled with dental anxiety for years, to the point where I would put off dentist appointments. From the very first visit Dr. Mousa was very understanding and took the time to listen. During my fillings and crown prep she made sure I was comfortable and not getting overwhelmed. If you struggle with dental anxiety I HIGHLY recommend Dr Mousa. She goes above and beyond for her patients. Another really great employee is Sam! She took the time to breakdown the treatment plan, showed me what my insurance covered and how much I had to pay out of pocket. She explained all the different options they have to pay for your treatment. She truly cares about patients and wants them to have the best experience. All of the dental hygienists were amazing too! Aaliyah (I believe was her name) was so personable. We chit chatted it up about different things! My experience here was beyond a 5 star! I recommend Dr. Mousa and her team to everyone!

Positive experience: Today it was a different story. A very nice young lady who used to work as a receptionist has since been promoted and took immediate care of me when I walked into the office. She sent my entire health record and X-rays to my new dentist. I have upped the rating to 4 stars now. Last week I wrote and gave a 2-star rating: Cannot say I was very pleased with customer service. Also billing department refused to send me an itemized bill. I suspected bill padding but cannot prove. Word to folks, keep a hawk eye on how they bill for services. Transferring out to another local dental office. When I asked for my X-rays to be transferred, it became a red-tape pain. So, I will likely not get my old X-rays to my new dentist in time for my visit. I actually liked the dentist on staff, he was kind and skilled, but the corporate mindset left a very bad taste in my mouth (pun intended)

Fantastic experience: I am a new patient of Aspen in Mt. Pleasant ❤️ I was terrified of the dentist for over 60 years, they have been so kind and supportive and I am about to show the world isn’t ever too late to have a beautiful smile So please, give them a chance to show you how it’s supposed to be! Their entire staff is absolutely amazing and will not stop until you are absolutely satisfied!

Fantastic experience: The sweetest crew in there. Everyone is so patient and understanding. 10/10 recommended! The place is so clean and everyone is so sweet. From the lady at the front desk, office manager, and even the doctors. I will be back for sure.

Negative experience: I well like they only care about making money instead of giving good patient care. If insurance won't pay for something, there's a decent reason. Most likely, it's because it's not necessary. Stop doing all the fancy devices that waste time and start giving patients what they need like good cleanings and preventing tooth and gum decay. It's not difficult but you make it so difficult on patients. I actually enjoyed the staff though. They don't deserve to have to lie and trick patients to get good dental care.

Fantastic experience: A nice, clean facility. Exceptional group of employees, including front desk, admin, and medical staff. No long waits to be seen and expeditious treatment. Price was explained in advance and was reasonable. I used to go to Affordable Dentures until five years ago when I discovered a very nice Aspen Dental in Norfolk Virginia. Now that I live in Mt Peasant I find the office here beats the Norfolk office in customer service.

Fantastic experience: I had a tooth pop out of my upper denture (one in front of course) and they repaired it for me quickly even without an appointment!. So happy cause I had plans that evening!!

Fantastic experience: I was hesitant of going here because I read several bad reviews online, but I went anyway and I’m so glad I did! The staff here is so friendly and patient. I was super nervous about going because my teeth need a lot of work but I actually felt at ease while I was there (which is saying something for me!). I was able to get a treatment plan worked out and qualify for enough financing to get what I really wanted. And I didn’t have to pay anything day of which was nice, especially since I don’t have insurance. Aspen Dental has made this scary experience a great one.Oh, and special shoutout to Samantha, the office manager, who is amazing and truly cares about people. I will be going back. Definitely.

Fantastic experience: The staff was incredibly friendly and made a point to be tedious and give me the most comfortable experience you can get going to a dentist on a budget. Quick, clean and affordable. Special shout out to Samantha who helped me find a financial plan suitable to my budget and answered all my questions in detail and took a long amount of time to make sure I walked away feeling confident and taken care of. I had a hard day but she really made me feel like I had someone on my side and made sure I got the best care possible. That girl deserves a raise!!!!!

They definitely made my first time at the Dentist a good one, I knew I was in good hands and now my smile is better for it.

Negative experience: This is the most poorly run operation I've been to in at least 30 years. Once I paid them the money for the procedure they stopped communicating with me. No call or email about how to prepare for the procedure (an implant). No reminder about the appointment (I got 2 prior too paying them). Then they called the morning off my appointment at 9:00am and told me they moved me up am hour, from 11:30 to 10:30. I told them I couldn't make it because I had to have somebody drive me due to the general anesthesia, and they weren't leaving work until 10:45 too come get me. The receptionist then informed me that they would have to reschedule. Mind you, the oral surgeon is only there one day each month, so they would be delaying the procedure for 30 days due to their mixup. After putting me on hold for 8 minutes, the rude young lady came back on the phone and said they would take me at my regularly scheduled time. How nice of them. When I arrived, I was shown to a room. The oral surgeon came in to talk about the procedure. He asked me if I ate this morning and I told him I had breakfast. He replied, "well, we won't be using any general anesthesia then. ". I told him nobody mentioned anything about not eating before the procedure. He was upset with the staff there, saying it was uncalled for. He went ahead with the local anesthetic but didn't numb everywhere, so I could feel the pain while he was extracting the tooth and when he was drilling the hole for the implant. He stopped midway and have me two more shots. That finally did the trick. When he finished up they brought me the retainer that has the tooth on it to replace the one they extracted. It didn't fit right and there was a gap between my two front teeth. Unbelievable. There was nothing else they could do, so I'm stuck with a retainer that hurts to wear and leaves a gap between my two front teeth. Stay as far away from Aspen dental in Mount Pleasant as you can. A health clinic would've do a better job and treat you with far more courtesy, respect, and professionals than these clowns. Absolutely atrocious and not one apology from anybody. You'd think spending several thousand dollars with someone would insure they would extend even minimal customer service and competency. But not here. Once they have your money, your just another piece of meat for the grinder.

Fantastic experience: I'm out of state working and happen to have an abscess tooth. I called Aspen dental around 9:00 a.m. and they were able to squeeze me in by 11:15 a.m.. when I got there there was absolutely no wait time. They were wonderful. I feel like the doctor and the assistants were very informative and very honest.

Fantastic experience: FALL 2022 THIS OFFICE WAS INCHARGE OF MY EXTRACTIONS AND DENTURES. THE BEST DENTAL EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD. EARLIER THIS YEAR THE BOTTOM CRACKED AND THEY GOT ME RIGHT IN FOR AN EMERGENCY REPAIR. UNFORTUNATELY IT CRACKED AGAIN IN SAME SPOT (NO BLAME ASSIGNED AT ALL THINGS HAPPEN) I SHOWED UP FIRST THING THIS MORNING THEY SAID DROP IT OFF FOR A FEW HOURS FOR REPAIR AT NO COST. THE WHOLE STAFF IS JUST AMAZING, I CRIED TEARS OF JOY. CANT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT THIS OFFICE. I CANT SAY THE SAME FOR OTHER ASPEN DENTAL OFFICES BUT THE MT PLEASANT ONE IS TOP NOTCH. Negative experience: Everyone was incredibly nice especially Sam she was absolutely amazing I got dentures about 4 years ago with Aspen dental but it was in Augusta Georgia.I had a crack in my top plate went there and had it fixed for about $200 in July 2025 Well here it is not even 3 months later and it's cracked in the same place as before and I was charged another $200. Don't mind paying for the services but I feel like it should not have been that much since it was cracked in the same exact spot as before. Just saying but the staff was absolutely amazing

Negative experience: Price of dental work went up by several hundred dollars for no reason between visits. Had a cavity filled which ended up needing a root canal. Wasn’t told until after filling started causing problems that it was a “50/50” chance I would need a root canal anyway. They saw no issue with the fact that they operated on my teeth without explaining anything in any amount of depth. Dentist sees you for the minimum amount of time possible and of 4 times I was there, the dentist was not. Office manager employs what feels like sales tactics. Felt like I was being sold a faulty product rather than being informed on a decision that would cost over a grand. Find a somewhere else to go if you’re looking for anything more than a basic cleaning.

Negative experience: Horrible customer service. The receptionist was playing block blast on her phone when I went to turn the iPad in she didn’t even realize I was standing there trying to give her the device back. When being called in the back, the dental assistance came out and said are yall ready? There was more than 1 patient waiting in the waiting room. Of course we are ready after waiting 50 minutes for an appointment. The front desk receptionist interrupted our visit immediately after the dentist came in after we waited 50 minutes to be seen. We were supposed to be scheduled with the oral surgeon, instead we got a general dentist which could not asses my Grandmothers needs for possible implants. This was made very clear on the phone when scheduling the visit. After the exam, we were taken to another waiting area to wait for the checkout clerk. After another long wait, we decided to get up as we could see the prior patient has left. The front office staff really needs training on how to be respectful of patients time. They were constantly playing around and not meeting the needs of patients first. After approaching the desk, we were greeted and then interrupted once again by the receptionist asking if he needed her to do anything prior to her leaving. I’m sorry but completely inappropriate and unprofessional. If your insurance is accepted elsewhere, I would go there over this place in a heart beat.

Fantastic experience: I was down in Charleston for a family funeral when on Saturday night my crown fell out. I was able to get an appointment for Monday morning. When I got there and explained the situation the staff and Dr. were fantastic. They were so kind and got me in and out of there in no time at all. The Septocaine he uses for extractions is so painless!! If you are putting off going to a Dentist, relax Dr. IRobert Iolu is the BEST! Extremely compassionate, professional, and so talented! Fantastic experience: I had the best experience ever with Aspen Dental. The staff were vey professional and knowledgeable. From the moment I checked I knew I had come to the right place for my dental work.

Negative experience: Never ever ever go to Aspen Dental. They are literally trained to be scammers. They quoted me THOUSANDS of dollars for work I didn’t even need (got a second opinion). Every visit, they’d try to upsell me something. The “hygienist” hurt my gums every single time and used way too much pressure. I had the worst experience of all at the one in Mt. Pleasant. I’ve had AMAZING experiences at Goolsby Family Dental. I can’t recommend them enough. And now (since my insurance changed), I go to James Island Dental Associates and they’re good too.

Negative experience: Rory was a nightmare to deal with. I made an initial visit appointment online and even called to confirm pricing and my reason for coming. Rory called and left a voicemail saying he would cancel my appointment if I didn’t call back, even though I made it 2-3 days in advance and used the automated system to confirm. The exam and x-rays were fine once I was there, so at that point I wasn’t too concerned. It was a hassle to schedule my next visit. I called, left voicemails, and callback numbers with Rory when he answered. My mom did as well, but he refused to talk to her, even though I signed a consent form to allow it. I arrived at 7:05 AM and filled out the financing forms, which took a few minutes. The hygienist immediately went into how she was overbooked and wanted to leave by noon. She told me way too much personal information that made me uncomfortable, including her alcohol problem. About halfway through my cleaning, Rory came in and let her know she was running behind. His tone was not polite, which visibly irritated her. He came in again a few minutes later and said something about “standard of care” and “well, I gave you options.” At this point, now I’m also irritated because I don’t want my cleaning to be rushed or incomplete. The hygienist was upset, saying he gets away with everything and that’s why he has so many bad reviews online. Now, I am on the hook for weekly payments for a long time for a service I don’t feel good about. I scheduled another maintenance cleaning, but don’t want to come back. The regional manager sent a generic email follow up. I told her all of this, but no response. They truly do not care. Save your time and money. Go anywhere else but here.

Fantastic experience: I have had the best experience with Aspen in Mt Pleasant! I had insurance last year, but I don’t this year, and they have a super reasonable plan that makes keeping up with my dental hygiene a no-brainer! Grateful for the kind staff, and my amazing dentist. I’m newly pregnant, and she gave me great advice for how to care for my teeth during this season of life. Always a fast, efficient visit with the kindest most helpful staff! Highly recommend!!

Fantastic experience: Best experience I had, went in due to a partial that just wasn’t working for me, the ladies at the front desk were very understanding told me there would be a little of a wait and within an hour I was seen and denture partial was fixed to my comfort. Big thanks to the Dr who assisted with me in adjusting my denture partial very understanding and caring. I would definitely recommend this location.

Negative experience: If you can afford to go somewhere else I would. I didn’t want to make this review but every so often I think about how terrible I was treated here. I was a regular customer who came here for Invisalign, wisdom teeth removal and regular cleanings. They filed my wisdom teeth removal insurance claims incorrectly to my insurance provider and then attempted to make me pay for the entire procedure. My insurance company only needed my X-rays to approve payment. Aspen dental lost my X-rays and my records so they could not send the X-rays to my provider. They held my Invisalign as ransom for payment. I never got my Invisalign from them even though I paid upfront for my Invisalign. They owe me money but the district manager ignores my calls. I am sadden by my experience here and just caution that it may not be best place to go if you don’t want to be taken advantage of.

Negative experience: I visited this office a couple weeks ago and was satisfied until yesterday. I was suppose to have a procedure done today but I had to cancel yesterday due to my 2 year old getting extremely sick at daycare. I knew it wasn’t a 24 hour notice and kept apologizing but I am a single mom and don’t have anyone else to watch him nor would want anyone to watch him if he’s sick with a 104 temp…. Anyway Rory was very rude to me on the phone and did everything to make me feel bad about having to cancel- which I already felt bad but things happen that you cannot control. Anyway I will be canceling the next appointment with them and going to elsewhere due to the attitude I received from him. Very passive aggressive and that location should be embarrassed to have him there.

Negative experience: I have been an Aspen Dental patient for over 5 years now. Last year I decided to try Aspen in Mt. Pleasant. The staff was nice, the office is very clean. My problem is not with the overall staff, but with the office manager. I was financed for a root canal in November of 2024. They rescheduled my appointment 4 different times because they didn't have an endodontist. I've had a cracked tooth and toothpain since November of 2024. On Monday, February 25th, after receiving a text that my appointment was rescheduled again, i called the office. I was told that the financing for my procedures was returned because i didnt have the procedures done within 30 days. This information was never shared with me, but also, Aspen Dental Mt.Pleasant was the one rescheduling my appointments. I was then told by the office manager to come into the office 1 hour before my appointment to "rework" my financing before the procedure. I left Awendaw,SC at 8am to be at Aspen by 9am for a 10am appointment. When I got to the office, I was told that the endodontist had COVID and would not be able to see me that day and again, I would have to be rescheduled. That would have been the 8th time I would have been rescheduled since November 2024. I asked why didnt anyone call me to atleast let me know that I wouldnt be seen that day, and i was told Im sorry, we just found out. My credit has been affected because they closed my original account for financing and I've had to refinance again today at Aspen in North Charleston. I'm upset that this office hasn't really taken responsibility for what they did.

Fantastic experience: I broke an implant crown last night, screw was broken, middle attachment piece snapped in half, total disaster. Aspen dental took me within half an hour after I called them, they were able to get everything off and put a cap on it. So happy I was able to get this resolved, can't recommend them enough. Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of meeting the Aspen Dental staff in Mt Pleasant today. My situation was a little different from the usual patient I am sure! I am in the midst of chemotherapy treatments and found myself in an emergency cosmetic situation after loosing a tooth from my partial plate. They got me in quickly and fixed up within an hour. My beautiful smile is back! Everyone was so courteous and kind! I will definitely be back for my future dental needs!

Fantastic experience: Today, I went to Aspen Dental for the first time due to a dental emergency. I chose them because their schedule was perfect for me and didn’t interfere with my workday. At first, I saw many unfavorable reviews, but I decided to give myself the chance to form my own opinion. Honestly, I left very satisfied. The entire staff, a group of young and very helpful people, provided excellent service. Dr. Iulo was thorough in his explanations and very kind. They also offer flexible payment options to accommodate each patient's needs. In my experience, the service was excellent. In the end, one person’s opinion doesn’t determine the reality of a place because nothing is absolute. Every experience is unique and depends on each person’s perspective.

They handled my Mother with great care, comfort and reassurance. She loves her new set of Dentures. Fantastic experience: People here are very on the ball workers I got in and they immediately started to do what they had to do. They are also very nice and easy to talk too. They called me to tell me they didn't have an opening at 2:15pm and it was very simple to switch to a morning time

After several years without regular dental visits and without dental insurance, I was initially concerned about finding a provider who could meet my needs. From the moment I reached out via phone, Rory was exceptionally helpful. He addressed all of my questions, assured me that my insurance would be accepted, and made the entire process seamless. During my appointment, he continuously updated me on the cost of each service and was extraordinarily welcoming. Dr. Iulo was professional, thorough, and caring. He filled my cavities with minimal discomfort and took the time to explain every step of the procedure. Despite a busy schedule, Dr. Iulo and the team were gracious enough to accommodate additional treatments I needed, ensuring I received comprehensive care without feeling rushed. The staff at Aspen Dental is not only skilled but also incredibly attentive. They were all kind and went above and beyond to ensure a positive experience. For the few bigger procedures I had, they used modern techniques to minimize my discomfort and explained things clearly. Fantastic experience: Aspen Dental in Mt. Pleasant has been an awesome experience from setting up my first appointment; meeting with Dr. lulo and Kaylei (dental assistant) to set up my treatment plan; speaking with Rory, the Financial Guru, confirming that my insurance covered the costs; having the extractions performed and dentures placed. My extractions were quick and painless. My dentures fit perfectly and look real!! I did have an infection in one of the sockets and Dr. lulo saw me immediately and put me on the correct antibiotics. So in only 15 days after the beginning of the process I have a beautiful smile again and feel great!! I went for 4 fitting appointments to make sure the dentures were being made correctly for my mouth, an appointment for the extractions/dentures, and follow up appointment. Each time I have been, everyone has treated me like family and always called me by my first name. My co-workers are so impressed with my smile they are changing their dentist to Aspen!! I would recommend Aspen Dental in Mt. Pleasant to anyone! They are all courteous, professional, knowledgeable, and Dr. lulo is an artist!! I love my new smile!!!

Negative experience: This is the absolute worst dental branch I have ever had to deal with, Rory the manager of this branch is an incompetent human. Please do NOT go to this branch it will be a horrific headache. I will never go to an Aspen dental again.

Negative experience: When I first arrived the person checking me in looked like she had just got up from a nap. Hair messed up and blank stare. The dentist was professional. The young man who gave me the financial info was also very courteous. BUT the prices are so far from reality it’s laughable. One implant $7500!!!! Ridiculous prices. $2400 for the implant $2400 the professional who puts it in then all sorts of add ons. I have 8 implants in my mouth now so I know how much they go for and $7500 is so excessive. I did mention that I was aghast that they thought this is ok to charge. This was not a ‘problem’ area just front upper tooth Root canal already done so just a pull and insert job. I will look elsewhere

Fantastic experience: I am so thankful for Aspen Dental! I was in town on vacation and broke a tooth! Dr. Iulo was amazing! Everyone was so nice and compassionate! It was so nice to be out of town and have the option ( during a holiday) to have an Emergency dentist willing to help me.

Negative experience: Tooth pain is WORST then before going in. Paid for 2 services for both services to not be “fulfilled”. Money down the drain to be told I have to see two dental specialist. I’m back at square one with unresolved dental issues and out of $700 because they “could not help me” and it’s no longer “in their hands” !

Fantastic experience: It's been a few months journey but it was well worth it in the end. After being told by my regular dentist that I wouldn't be able to get an implant, Aspen Dental inserted my permanent implant today. Thank you Aspen Dental for doing what they said couldn't be done.

Fantastic experience: I had a dental emergency and was able to get in quickly during my lunch hour for a repair. Everyone from check in to the office manager to the doc was so helpful and quick so I was able to get back to work on time. My insurance covered most of the expense saving me a ton of money. I will absolutely use their services again in the future.

Negative experience: The dental hygienist was very competent. Doc was too. But $2800 for a tooth scaling was ridiculous! They charged me $1000 for an antibiotic that my medical insurance covers, but they will not deal with medical insurance … to quote “if you are smart enough to file a claim, you might get reimbursed “. Aspen Mt Pleasant will charge you ridiculous amounts for care because they know you are really in need of help. The fella that works the money end of this business is nothing but a tooth salesman. I have since talked with others about this Mt Pleasant practice, and everyone reports the same thing … “i got help, but at a deep price”. I do appreciate the help, but I’m in debt $2800.

Fantastic experience: I was able to get into a same-day emergency appointment while on vacation. Dr. Iulo saved the vacation, and bonus- they were in network with my insurance. I highly recommend the practice.

Negative experience: Very bad. Charged me an unreasonable amount of money. Did fillings on teeth that didn't hurt and didn't do it on the ones that tbey did. Filling they did do are hurting like heck

The man in charge of finances and what your insurance covered was a terrific help. i go back tomorrow to have three teeth extracted.
