Positive experience: Overall, the office is clean and staff are generally friendly, and Dr. Barefoot is professional. However, I did not have a very good experience on the day of my 14 year old daughter’s wisdom teeth removal. I felt very rushed throughout the whole process, and I wish I had been present with her while she was in “recovery” and still waking up. It was never explained or clear that this would be the case. I want to be clear that I understand this probably can’t be done for everyone, but I would think with a child under the age of 16, an exception would be made. When she was finally brought outside to the car, she was super groggy with tears streaming down her face. I was trying to attend to her and make sure she was ok (it was my first time seeing her after surgery!) and the staff was blurting out post-op instructions all while I was expressing concern for my daughter. I felt extremely rushed and didn’t get a warm or caring sense at all. A few hours later I called the office to ask about what prescriptions were being called in - because I couldn’t remember what they told me earlier - and I got a very short, blunt response from the person who answered the phone. There was no asking about how my daughter was doing, or any tone of warmth or caring at all. Disappointing experience.

Fantastic experience: Extremely professional..ladies were friendly, polite, professional, but engaging personally. It was a great experience every visit. I truly hated it when I was discharged. It’s not often that the staff is so friendly, funny and wonderful.

I also appreciated the financial transparency they provided. I’ve been to different offices in the past that don’t have your best interests in mind and overcharge. Negative experience: My husband had a very bad experience with Dr. Barefoot and his team. To begin with, we were quoted for an hour of surgery, but then charged an additional $300 for 13 extra minutes of anesthesia. They explained that we were only charged for 45 minutes of anesthesia, despite being told it would be an hour of surgery from the beginning of consults. After enduring a month of excruciating pain, he returned to address what might have been an infection or dry socket. They prescribed another week of antibiotics. He was still in so much pain and called on a Friday to ask about getting a few more days of antibiotics. They told him they would call it in.. we went to pick up on Saturday and they must have forgot….. it didn’t get called in until Monday morning. However, when he went in for a final check on a Wednesday… Dr. Barefoot didn't even see him to assess the progress or confirm if the infection was gone. Instead, the assistant took a quick look and mentioned it should be healed and instructed him to check back in with front desk to pay remaining balance. It's evident that their priority lies in overcharging patients rather than prioritizing their wellbeing. We're extremely disappointed with the amount of money we spent at this practice for him to still be in so much pain almost 2 months after surgery and would not recommend it.

Fantastic experience: The extremely professional staff walked me through the process of getting permanent upper and lower implants so that when the time for the surgery arrived, I knew exactly what would happen. The staff was always available for me both pre- and post-operatively to answer any of my questions and advise me when needed. Kristen was of enormous help to me, always being available for me at any time. Dr. Barefoot is an outstanding surgeon. I never felt any severe pain after my five-hour surgery which I believe is a testament to his surgical skills. I was even able to cease my pain medication after three days as I felt there was no need for them. After my facial swelling and bruising went away after about a week, I only experienced minor soreness which was quite tolerable. I would highly recommend Dr. Barefoot and his staff to anyone who is in the need for any type of oral surgery or dental implants.

Fantastic experience: My son needed an extra baby tooth removed that was affecting the growth and alignment of his permanent teeth. The service and care we received was beyond amazing. The anesthesiologist and Dr. Barefoot addressed all of our questions and concerns, and I was very impressed with how the anesthesiologist explained to my son his role in the procedure and how delicately and carefully he inserted the IV in my son’s arm. The staff was also amazing, from the front desk to the patient care staff. I asked for an itemized receipt and they said they would email to me after the procedure was done. Guess what? They actually emailed me the itemized receipt. Also, my pharmacy didn’t have one of the post op prescriptions in stock. I called the office to see if they could call into another pharmacy, which was in another town, and Megan offered to call around other pharmacies in my area to obtain the prescription. Within 15 minutes, she called me back with a new pharmacy location close to our home that had the medication available. I highly recommend this practice and would definitely use their services again if needed.

Positive experience: My experience in regards to the process of replacing &/or putting in 4 (yes 4!) implants has been mostly all positive, and relatively seamless. They’re extremely professional and efficient. My only issue with them is a billing issue in which I was assured I could pay for an unexpected additional $600 charge at my next appointment (so in terms of the total $15k+ it costs for two implants it was a very small amount), and then they accidentally sent me to collections. So there’s that. But other than that they’ve been great.

Fantastic experience: It's been a real smooth implant experience, so far. It was almost completely pain free, and besides the one precautionary painkiller I took when the numbing was wearing off, I haven't taken any more. I'd recommend Dr Barefoot if you need an implant! Update: Second appointment (To put in the healing abutment) was done without anesthesia, just novocain, and I once again just took one pain pill when that was wearing off, just in case, but besides some very minor soreness in the area, was pain-free! The entire process was much less of an issue than I thought it would be. Maybe my case was simpler, or what have you, but I'd say that if you're considering an implant, go for it!

Positive experience: I got my bottom two wisdom teeth removed a month ago despite my fear of the procedure. Dr. Barefoot and his staff were very friendly and did an excellent job at making me feel comfortable and not so nervous about the procedure. The procedure itself went smoothly, however my one minor complaint is that they sent me home very quickly as soon as I woke up and didn’t let me stay in the room for at least 15 minutes or so to fully come to. My recovery went smoothly as well, I didn’t have too much pain, very minor swelling, no bruising, no complications and I returned to my normal diet within a week. I also appreciate that they called me a little over a week later for a follow-up call.
