Fantastic experience: Dr Lopshire is the best dentist I've ever had! I was nervous when I went in, but the staff made me feel comfortable.

Fantastic experience: Appointment was easy to set up online. Front desk was perfect and got my insurance figured out easily. All staff were nice and very knowledgeable. I went in for an exam and cleaning and was able to get a cavity filled right after. All this took less than an hour and 30 minutes. I will definitely be coming back to this location!

Positive experience: My experience began with an emergency visit, in which they got me in for within an hour. Upon my visit I promptly had my problem diagnosed, antibiotics prescribed and an appointment set for an extraction. I was able to purchase dental insurance on site which saved me a total of over $300 between my 2 visits. Additionally, the procedure went smoother than planned so my cost ended up being less than quoted. Thank you Scott and all in your team who provided me a great experience and a new dental office for life!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going here for quite a few years now after my dentist, Dr. Akey retired. From the front desk checking you in and being patient answering insurance questions to the gal doing the health review and of course the hygienists and Dr Lopshire, everything has always gone very smoothly. They have always been timely calling me back and getting me in the chair to get started on my cleanings. I highly recommend calling them for your next dental appointment.

Negative experience: Worst experience with a dentist I've ever had and that's saying something compared to gentle dental.

Fantastic experience: Great staff. Wait time is never an issue, in & out quickly Clean environment & dental team is great at taking care of any issues. Had a little hiccup with billing & the financial staff was more than dedicated to find a resolution. Great place to go for your dental health.

Negative experience: I've been going here for a little while. I no longer recommend. They told me one price and I paid the quoted price. I went in later and was then told I owed double what was originally quoted. They need to learn how to quote properly. The procedure didn't even need to happen I would have never done it if they would have actually given the price

Negative experience: I've had a hard time finding a dentist I felt didn't judge me. I've neglected going for quite a while because of it. Today I had a really great experience. Everyone I encountered was very helpful, and most importantly I didn't feel judged or looked down on. They explained things to me and took the time to get me on a treatment plan. I'm so excited to know exactly what I need to do and they can help me with all of it. I'm just truly so happy. So after a year of going to them I have changed my opinion. Every visit will be an extra $25-$40. They lie to add more services. My last hygienist was an absolute b. I can't imagine I could find a worse place to go.

Fantastic experience: Took my daughter in for cleanings and her wisdom teeth removal. Everyone was so welcoming and polite. The office is so clean and relaxing. Any questions I asked or my daughter asked was answered. Wait time was less then 10 mins. We'll recommend my family to them.

Fantastic experience: Trusting a dentist is really hard for me. Growing up, we went to the dentist in our town and, frankly, I had horrible experiences. Numbing always went horribly wrong and I would suffer in pain through every procedure. The last time I went to them, I had to have a root canal. I told them I could still feel everything and they gave me a few more shots, which did nothing. I tried to be ‘strong’ with tears streaming down my cheeks until I couldn’t take it anymore and told them again. I was called a baby by the dentist and that, no, I did not feel it. He was mad, angry that I said anything, and continued drilling. I walked away swearing I would never go back to another dentist. My daughter finally got me to go to her practice after she graduated college. I loved going to Kimball and Beecher at their Waterloo Office. All of the staff were amazing and Dr. Keeney, the staff, and his assistant, Lakyn, changed my outlook on going to the dentist. For the first time, I wasn’t afraid or walked away in pain, traumatized. They put their patients comfort and needs FIRST, ALWAYS. Dr. Keeney was the first dentist that LISTENED to my fears and did his best to explain exactly what was going to happen and he went at MY pace. I can’t thank him enough for everything he did for me and I hated switching dentists, but…. I followed my favorite assistant, Lakyn, to the Iowa City office and Cedar Rapids offices. The staff at both places were also amazing! Put me right at ease and took great care of me! (Although I missed Dr. Keeney) Today, I went to the Cedar Rapids office and had a different assistant, Dami, and I saw Dr. Scott Lopshire. They both were awesome! Put me at ease, joked around with me, made me aware of what was going on the whole time… I cannot stress enough that the care the entire staff show you at any of the Kimball and Beecher locations go above and beyond each and every time. Their dedication to their patients is always the top priority! They truly care about YOU! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. I definitely recommend going to them if you are looking for excellent service and care!

Fantastic experience: I had broken a tooth. They were able to get me in the Cedar Rapids office the next morning. It required a crown. They were able to do the complete process including a permanent crown before I left the office. Very impressed. Saved me a return trip.

Negative experience: Very rude and inpatient with kids. My child was scared to get tooth pulled and was crying and they told him he needs to be quite. The young female with red hair definitely needs to be fired, she has a horrible attitude.

Fantastic experience: I just finished with getting my first implant. It was a very easy and straightforward process and the dentist and nurse made the procedure so easy and pretty much pain free. I would highly recommend them for all your needs!!

Fantastic experience: I have been going here for about 3 years and I have not had a single bad experience. The front desk staff make you feel very welcome and are very helpful. The dental hygienists are friendly and even remember conversations you had despite it being 6 months since you came! Dr. Lopshire is very friendly and knowledgeable. He suggested I try Invisalign. I was a bit hesitant since I wasn't sure how things worked (insurance, out of pay expenses, etc.). He and his staff made the entire process very easy and I'm so glad I did it. Overall, dentist appointments are now enjoyable. And I thank everyone that works here for that.

Fantastic experience: I was over due for a cleaning and checkup, and my old dentist retired a couple years ago, so I was a little nervous. NO NEED TO BE. The staff was very friendly and professional, the way x-rays were done was SO MUCH easier than the days of biting down on a block that filled your mouth, and the cleaning was done primarily with a water jet, so there was very minimal use of metal tools. It's probably the most gentle dental visit I've ever had. I highly recommend them!! My wife will be making an appointment soon, and my son and his wife will also receive a recommendation for this place, since they're also looking for a new dentist. I'm very pleased and actually looking forward to going back. This was a well earned and honest 5 stars.

Cleanings are quick and gentle! The Dentists are knowledgable and honest. They examine your teeth and provide an assessment for you. Unlike other Dental firms, they don't try to run up your bill with dental work that is not necessary. I highly recommend K & B Dentistry for all your dental needs.

Negative experience: I have been going to this dentist for years. The front desk staff is amazing! Today, after receiving several texts which I ignored, my phone rang. Thinking it was an emergency, I answered it rather abruptly. It was rude of me and I did apologize. What I didn't expect was the dental hygienist to treat me so disrespectfully afterwards. She slammed through the rest of the cleaning silently. Didn't say what she was doing or what I should do. I do understand that she had other patients to take care of, but as a nurse myself, I understand that I should never take out my frustration on my patients. My family is extremely important to me and I will always put their welfare first!

Fantastic experience: Very kind and helpful to understanding procedure needed. I am 77 and have lost 90% of original dentures. To my dismay this hasn't been something I haven't taken care of. Hind sight now is 20/20, to late. That also sums up my financial situation as well. I went here for counseling. I contacted my insurance as to in network, printed it off. After exrays and procedures. They told me the bad news. This wouldn't be an in network coverage with my policy. If things were different, I would consider it.

Fantastic experience: It might sound strange to most people, considering that it's a dentist office, but I have a fairly pleasant experience everytime I go here. Also, they get things done quickly with quality work. I went in today at 10:15, for tooth pain, and I had a new crown on and walked out the door by 12:15. I highly recommend their services.

Negative experience: When I got there they explained that they were short staffed and apologized for any delay. I understood that things happen and was ok with that. However I am not ok with being rushed thru my cleaning appointment so they could hurry on to the next patient. Very disappointed with the service today.

Negative experience: UPDATE: No one from the company reached out, as they said below. 6 weeks later I still had a lot of sensitivity with that tooth (hot/cold, hard foods are painful, etc). I called and asked to speak with someone about it. Was asked to leave a message. I did that and never heard back. I finally called again, now 3 months later, and was asked to come in. After taking a brief look at the tooth, the conclusion was that I likely need a root canal. No mention of the fact that there was no sensitivity with this tooth prior to the crown, but instead discussion about the fact that the chipped tooth was likely damaged more than they expected and thus the current sensitivity. Referred to someone else for the root canal option. Very disappointing all around! ******************* Got a crown done for a broken molar, and the final product is good I think. However, the service along the way was less than stellar. I asked for 2 things - not to be laid flat because of my vertigo and to be allowed a bite block so my jaw didn't ache so badly while holding my mouth open. Dental assistant agreed readily, but when dentist came in I was immediately laid flat and 20 minutes into drilling my jaw was beginning to hurt so I motioned for them to pause. I asked again for a bite block. She admitted to having forgotten that and gave it right away. With no explanation that this was going to involve an hour of drilling, about 2/3 through it I asked if they ever put patients under anesthesia for this. I cried off and on throughout because of the pain of him trying to get enough access to my mouth and the jaw pain. After labor with 2 kids not much makes me cry anymore, but it was a lot. Will avoid this at all costs in the future.

Fantastic experience: I have not been to the dentist for 10 years or more. My parents invested in braces in Highschool. My husband is serious about the health of his teeth and I told him “I wanna be like you about my teeth lol” He referred me here and the rest is history. I had to have a deep cleaning which required numbing with needle. I took it like a champ and my Dentist is with child and she has a beautiful personality, cared, educated, shared fun facts that her husband is a DJ in our city of Cedar Rapids and best thing she didn’t hurt me a bit ❤️ Thank you for stellar customer service from scheduling, paying and caring for the health of my teeth. You are stuck with me now it’s official! Lol ❤️

Dr. Michael is very detail oriented and I could not be more pleased with the dental work and care he provided. Positive experience: I came in for a teeth cleaning recently. I like the dentist and had an experienced hygienist to clean my teeth. As she was finishing, she made a comment about me being an Iowa State fan and I offered that I was an Iowa State alumnus and proud of the degree and successes it brought me. At the checkout, she stated I owed over $100 and my insurance allows preventative care that is covered. I disputed and then she passed me on to someone with more experience handling charges. I just want to share my experience with others. It was a small prompt that she was not a fan of Iowa State. Just want to share my experiences with others. I like the dentist and don’t hold any ill well to the hygienist, but it wasn’t the exit that patients would want.

Positive experience: Arrive8d for appointment on time, got into treatment room shortly, first gal showed up soon to prep me, dentist soon showed up to look at my teeth. I was told the person to clean my teeth would be there shortly, I waited a long time for that person to show up, she said they had a very busy morning and she did a good job of cleaning. However I waited to long. I feel they had overbooked!

Fantastic experience: Great set up for COVID. No waiting. Masks and hand sanitizer as you walk in the door. registration standing just inside the door. Immediately back to your room. Staff in gloves, masks and face shields. Just a cleaning this time. No polishing due to COVID. Did the floride, they reminded as always, of the cost and that insurance wouldn't pay. No pain with the cleaning or the exam. Panoramic pictures this time. Encouraged me to to the endodontist and explained why they thought it would be a good idea. Good routine care. 10/26/2023 update I moved here from AZ some years ago and found with the move I hadn’t been getting very good dental care. I found a dentist who was able to take care of me and got me pain free for the first time in years. He decided to join Kimball and Beecher. When I moved to Cedar Rapids, I decided to stay with Kimball and Beecher. Today I am in for a cleaning. Their staff has turned over. One new dentist, it looks like maybe two left, a new dental hygienist. The dental hygienist was excellent. Pain free cleaning. Used new techniques than I was used to. New training? Gave me feedback on my teeth as they cleaned. They have a ‘comfort menu’ that is awesome. I stress in the dentist and used to go home with muscle spasm half way down my back from my tension in the dentist chair. A warm neck wrap has made a huge difference in this for me. They also have stress balls. One of the very few times this has been effective for me has been getting work done in the dental chair. Did a “wellness scan” or 3 D pictures of my teeth, how they looked, how they fit together. Met the new dentist. Seems excellent. So staff turning over, but keeping a very high quality dental practice.

Fantastic experience: Great place to get all your dental work done. The staff here are very empathetic to your needs.They are very kind they even let my 7 year old daughter come back with me and and they gave her a snack. For me I unfortunately have very sensitive teeth and gums just mount pain in general. All of the staff here at the Cedar Rapids location are the best. For decades I was afraid of the dentist due to bad past experiences in my youth, Kimble and Beecher have totally restored my faith in todays dentistry. Thank you for all you do.
