Also, some dentists in the past that have caused me MANY issues. I would NOT go to anyone else!! Horton Family Dentals entire team are utmost professionals! Highly recommend!!

Positive experience: The dental scan was protracted and quite uncomfortable, maybe use less force when pushing the scanner head into the gums. The cleaning was excellent.

Fantastic experience: We've been very happy going to Horton Family Dental for many years, beginning with Dr. Doug H and now with his son, Dr. Ben H. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. They all take their time with the patient...no rushing thru the questions and answers. They truly want what is best for their patient and their oral concerns and care. Due to dental coverage at one time, we switched to a different dentist. Coverage changed and so we changed and went right back to Horton Family to stay.

Fantastic experience: We have been going to this facility for dental treatment since we had moved to Cedar Rapids, almost 22 years back. Dr. Doug Horton, Dr. Ben Horton, Dr. Jacobson and their team have always taken great care of us. The scheduling of appointments, timely reminder, and insurance resolution have been very helpful.

Fantastic experience: It will be much better when construction is complete. I would have liked to know how long the crown was going to take ahead of my appointment. Also very expensive! Im on a tight budget!!!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Jacobson did excellent work on my teeth. I respect his work, but also respect that it appears he can squat about 450lbs and deadlift the same. I wanted to challenge him to a pull-up competition but I didn't know if it was appropriate at the time. Next six month visit I think I'll bring in my door mounted pullup bar and we can go from there. Super kind assistant and front desk. 5 stars.

Fantastic experience: I am TERRIFIED of dental procedures. Not scared..... TERRIFIED. I experienced dental work in the past that was so painful, stressful and anxiety ridden that I haven't been able to forget it. Horton Family Dental knows this now and has done EVERYTHING possible to make me feel comfortable, calm and assured that my procedures will be pain free. They explain the process, verify I don't have questions or concerns and reassure me throughout to make sure I'm doing ok. I'm still a scared patient, but have NEVER felt any pain or discomfort during any procedure. I'd recommend Horton Family Dental to anyone looking for a dental home.

Negative experience: I believe I had Anastasia for the hygienist, she took way too long to clean my teeth, an hour, she also rested her arm on my chest (too personal), and she constantly said "uh huh", which is annoying. My chair was so far back I felt light headed afterwards. I never want to have her again.

Positive experience: I was in for a routine cleaning by Jenny. She is a wonderful hygienist that has taken care of my cleaning over many years. She is a total professional - has a patient-centered focus, she’s caring, does detailed work, explains any dental terminology that surfaces and has a very pleasant personality. She clearly values her patients. The dentists are pleasant, professional and communicate their findings well and in understandable terms. My only reason for not giving a 5 star rating is the significant incremental increase in the fee this cycle over past visits.
